  • Nokia 6230 Contacts Sync Problem with Outlook

I have a Nokia 6230 and used to sync my contacts with outlook using PCSYNC. Now I receive a message that sync is completed but only 1 or 2 contacts are copied to the outlook (always the same ones). I have already updated the PC Synch version many times, tried to change configurations on PC Sync and on the phone, created new folders on outlook and sync profiles, cleaned the configuration files on "documents and settings" folder, contacted Nokia phone suport in Brazil, but nothing worked.
I use Windows 2000 SP4 in English, connect through Infrared and have the 6.81.13.0 version of PC Sync (I have already tried many other versions). I'm using Phone memory. When I use PC Sync explorer those same few contacts that are synchronized are the only ones that I can see in the contacts folder.
I think the problem is in some configuration file in Windows environment or I have a problem with the phone set.
Please if anyone could help me I would apreciate. I have lost many hours trying to fix that problem.

Today I searched through the discussions and found many other users with the same problem (Himalaya2050, Marbru, tugrulislier). Almost everybody using Nokia6230 and using international character set, maybe the root cause for the sync problem.
I think Nokia should have a tested fix for that problem.
Was the phone update the solution for other users? Do you have any feedback? I haven't found in the discussions any user with that problem solved.
When I first contact Nokia support in Brazil they told me to do many time consuming procedures (reinstall and update PC sw many times) that didn't worked and didn't make sense for me, as the sync was working with previous version. So I don't want to try another non tested solution, because I will have to go to a tech assistance, wait and probably loose all the information stored on the phone.
I think I will have to exchange my phone ...

  • Ovi Suite and Windows Contacts sync problem.

The sync process randomly misses phone numbers (Phone -> Windows).
I tried removing all the contacts into the Windows library and restarting the sync, but the same problem happen.
    Any idea?

    Dear Marina,
You said "So this issue is more like a Window Contacts application limitation".
I disagree; This is the limitation of the imagination and experience your developers have.
How stupid should someone be, not be able to figure a simple logic that if a damn field is not available, use any !^%@$# Windows Contacts field which is available?
When your software cannot do a one to one matching of the fields, Nokia Suite shouldn't even call it Sync with contacts application, and place Windows Contacts as an option!
Windows Contacts syncing has always been a way for people to share their contacts among devices! What you have done is proven how dumb your software developers can be!
A simple, very simple solution is to fill in any field which is available to at least maintain the integrity of the data!
A little more intelligent solution, which might be too much for Nokia's developers, is to try and fill in Work or Home fields and then force fill in the fields it couldn't find. This way a contact with only a "Telephone" number, will at least have a number saved!
Did that sound harsh? It is really irritating when you see how simple logic gets ignored, rendering an application that has had its roots around for decades, useless.

  • Contacts syncing problem iPhone 3G

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 3G, running iOS 3.1.3
I also have a mobile me account set up.
I'm trying to delete some duplicate contact details from my iPhone. I thought the easiest method would be via my address book after the mobile me technique failed. I have selected to replace my contacts on my iPhone with the address book contacts, synced at least 3 times but it hasn't worked.
    Any pointers would be good

and i guess i should mention i bought it at best buy and they ported my phone #'s from my google phone and when i got home i sync'ed it with itunes and it doubled my contacts.

  • Address Book- Contacts Sync Problems!!!

So, I got my iPhone and synced it to my iMac when I bought it 3 weeks ago. I found out that my iPhone doesn't sync the contacts I input into it onto my Address Book, (My sync only works one way) and was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this.
Also, this weekend, when I synced my iPhone, my Contacts list started duplicating random contacts. Some of the duplicates are exactly the same. However, there are also some duplicates that are past versions of the contact cards. (i.e. I edited the card, but my iPhone sometimes loads the past versions).
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    (I'm very annoyed)

I have this exact same problem. I've manually de-dupped my iPhone contact list at least 5 times. This is not a good use of my time and it's ineffective. I'd like the sync to work correctly and have a way to automatically get rid of duplicates on my phone.
Or at least a way to delete multiple contacts at once instead of one at a time.

  • 9810 Contacts sync problem

    Device info
    Your carrier: Telus mobility
Model info and OS version: V7.1.0.267, Plateform 5.1.0.230
    Hi,
I have about 85contacts added for the last 2months (last time I updated my phone) on my 9810 that didn't sync with gmail contacts since then.
I tested what was working/not working:
     - Contact added/edited/deleted on 9810 won't sync to gmail.
     - Contact added/edited/deleted on PB will sync to gmail. Changes made on gmail contacts will be reflected on 9810.
     - Contact added/edited/deleted on Android phone will sync to gmail. Changes made on gmail contacts will be reflected on 9810.
So I tried to flush my contacts using the RSET trick in the contacts option. Disable/Enable sync both in contact option and BIS. I also tried to remove this gmail account from BIS and re-install it. When I re-installed it, I got this e-mail:
Subject: Action Required: Contact synchronization has stopped
    Sent: Nov 4, 2012 13:32
Contacts have stopped being synchronized between [email protected] and your BlackBerry® device. To resume synchronizing contacts with this email account:
    1. Open the Contacts application on your device.
    2. Press the Menu key and click Options.
    3. Select the Contact List for [email protected].
    4. Set Wireless Synchronization to Yes
    5. Press the Menu key and click Save.
    BlackBerry Internet Service

Of course, the wireless sync was already on...
Any idea on a solution that can help ? Unless someone can help, downgrade will be required! :/

    Here is my solution:
So I updated to V7.1.0.746 and it is working back! The only problem found is that if you enter only a company name, it won't sync until you write something in first name (in the need repeat the company name).

  • IPod contacts-sync problem - workaholic?

    Hello!
I have a small problem with my iPod. I widely use address book - I have a lot of info stored there. I use my own template including birthday, nameday, 3x IM,mail, bank accs, few telephone numbers, addresses, notes and picture. All vCards 3.0.
It looks great in Address Book but when I browse contacts in my iPod - synced with iTunes - everything has a label - "work"... Except address and notes... Why is that?
I tried to look through google but with no results.
    Thanks for help.

  • Ipod contacts sync problem

When the first time I sync my outlook express contacts to my ipod, there is no problem. After I added some contacts and try to sync, update to my ipod, I found that it add the whole contact again plus the new one and also some contacts ( in outlook express) I had deleted many years ago. Now my contacts in the ipod look some funny(2 or 3 pages with the same person).
Is anyone has any idea what's wrong and can I delete the whole contacts and sync the updated one again?
    Thanks,

Not sure if I need to post my question as a separate entry, but let me first try here since this topic came up.
I have set up iTune to sync my Outlook calendar and contacts, with "replace items on iPod with Outlook" option checked. When I connect my iPod, the status bar says it is syncing with Calendar and Contacts. But nothing is changed if I open my contacts/calendar on my iPod. Any idea?

  • N97 contacts sync problems

Is there anyway around the N97 creating dual entries for contacts you put in your favorite contacts in the home page? I noticed this was the case when syncing to my E90. The other odd thing was syncing to the E90 removed all the favorite contacts.

I have the same problem with my N97 mini. I used gmail for months without any problem but since about a week it either keeps synchronizing forever (without receiving any mail) or stops and also no mail received. Looking at the web version, new mails are there!

  • Contact sync problem in Link.

I am facing 2 problems while syncing contacts with Blackberry Link -
When there are sync conflicts, the small window that appears listing all the conflicts is unresponsive and the scroll bars in it don't function. The information is not completely visible.
I have multiple contacts with more than 1 mobile number(more than 1 phone number, and all of them have the same field 'Mobile'). When I sync these with Outlook, it seems to save only one of these numbers. I came to know that the numbers were permanently lost when I exported my Outlook contacts as .vcf files to my old Nokia s40 phone.
I realise that the second issue is not associated with Link, but that leaves me with no way to preserve my phonebook except using some contacts exporting app from Blackberry World to export my phonebook as a single .vcf file, which again is not supported by Outlook(it seems to import only the first contact from the .vcf file).
Please suggest me some way to batch-export my contacts as separate .vcf files.
I found out recently that Samsung Kies supports .vcf files with multiple contacts, but it also shows only one out of 2 or 3 mobile numbers. Also, there is no way in it to batch-export the contacts, and I cannot export 785 contacts one-by-one.

    Hi,
same problem here: iPhone does not sync contacts any more, either way. I've searched Discussions, reinstalled iTunes after having deleted prefs and cache, reinitialised iSync history, restaured iPhone to factory setting, unlocked again with Ziphone 3.0, checked New phone in iTunes, nothing nothing nothing: no contacts were transferred from my Mac to the iPhone. I've tried to back up and erase my Addressbook: useless. I've tried adding a single contact. not synced. I've checked, and I don't have any particular custom filed on my Addressbook. I've noticed that on iTunes the contacts groups that I have on my AB, are not seen and checkable on the INFO tab, sync contacts section. It's like iTunes and AddressBook are not "communicating".
I can't believe such a vital function cannot work! and I have no clue what do to, since I refuse to reinstall Leopard for such an issue, too much of an hassle!
    Please, help!

  • IOS 7.1.2 contacts sync problem

I recently turned on iCloud for synching my iPhone (iOS 7.1.2) , iPad (8.1.3) and iMac (Yosemite).
I have problems synching contacts and calendar entries the iPhone with the info stored on iCloud. I keep reading about going into Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars  and going into the Contacts section to find  a 'Default Account' setting to change to iCloud but such a setting does not appear on my iPhone. Am I missing something?
When you go into the Contacts app and tap on GROUPS it just displays 'From my Mac' and list the groups there but nothing about iCloud.
I have set Contacts and Calendars ON in the iCloud settings already.
The iPad is fine but not the iPhone 4. Any ideas?

KiltedTim wrote: By the way, as an Exchange server administrator and the person responsible for setting up and supporting a fairly large number of iOS devices on our system, I can unequivocally say that the statement above is false.
Say it is false or not. The fact is: While my Exchange account works fine with Exchange 2010 and Zarafa (both use Active Sync) using iOS 7.1.1. it does not work with iOS 7.1.2 on my iPad AIR.
It is not a firewall problem becaues everything works fine with 7.1.1.
Even the Account can not be deleteted - the process hangs an can only be stopped resetting the device.

  • Outlook contacts sync problem !!!

I exported all my phone numbers from my old phone to Outlook
but when Itunes try to sync with Outlook I got the following
message and nothing (none of my phone contacts) is transfered
    to my Iphone.
    Erros message:
    "error occurred remapping record identifiers"
Anybody had the same problem already ??
I tried reinstalling Itunes, Outlook but nothing seesm to help me out...?!!

Thx Cinemagic for helping but I allready tried that yesterday but
since then I found the troublemaker who was preventing me to sync
    properly....
    Apollo IM !!!
Uninstalled it and oh miracle, all my contacts reappeared again....without a
resynch with Itunes, so I never lost them realy, Apollo simply hides them
    somehow....
I tried to synch with Itunes just to be sure my error message wouldn't reappear
    again but it didn't...
    Cool ;o)

  • .mac iCloud address causing 'contacts' syncing problems

    Hello,
This may have already been addressed here, but if not hopefully this may be helpful.  I have been having many issues syncing contacts to my iPad Air.  The correct contacts are on my Macbook, my iCloud account, and on my iPhone, however they were not syncing correctly to my iPad.  I tried all the usual fixes, i.e. turning iCloud off on my iPad, signing out of iCloud on my iPad and singing back in, etc... to no avail.  Everything BUT contacts was syncing between all my devices.
That is when I noticed that all my devices under settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->Accounts listed an 'iCloud' account for mail, contacts, calendars, Safari.  However, my iPad Air listed a .MAC address for these.  If I tried to add an iCloud account, it would say that an iCloud account has already been added to your iPad.  Once I deleted the .Mac account and choose to erase all the information on my iPad, I was able to add a iCloud account back to my iPad.  The account now shows up as an 'iCloud' account and not a '.Mac' account.  Problem solved.  Hope this helps anyone having this issue.
    Billy

Did you change it on both phones?  If you are syncing contacts with separate iCloud accounts on both phones, then the only way I can think of that your contacts would be linked is by syncing them both with another external sources, such as an exchange account.  Setting iCloud as the default account for contacts on both phones would cause new contacts to be created in iCloud, and since your iCloud accounts are different on each phone, I don't see how contacts added to the iCloud account on one phone would be seen on the other.
You may need to go to icloud.com and confirm that new contacts added to each phone are added to your separate iCloud accounts, just to confirm that the change to settings is working properly.
