Automatic copy of email sent

how do i prevent gmail from automatically sending myself a copy of every email i send out? i am sending a large amount of emails, and the copies that show up in my inbox are making things very crowded!

That's why I am confused -- I too thought that this
would correct the problem, but it does not. I have
it checked to no and am still getting the copies.
Any other ideas?
If you are NOT interested in retaining a "copy" of the email in GMAIL itself, I found the most fool-proof method is to create a filter.
i.e. If you are sending from iPhone create filter FROM [email protected] and select DELETE IT!
IF sending from another POP account using GMAIL as the outgoing server create a filter FROM myname@pop_accountname and select DELETE IT!

How to stop automatic replies to emails sent to my address?

We receive hundreds of spam/solicitation emails each day. Many, if not most, automatically send a reply to the sender thus validating our email address. Yesterday, I deleted almost 3000 emails from my send file that show being sent by us back to the originator of the email.
Is there a way to block this action?

Tools menu (Alt_T) > Account settings > Return receipts for the "per account" settings and a link to the global setting. If however your using Microsoft Exchange or another corporate mail server you may have no choice in the matter. The server over rides local settings, and adjustment required the server admin to make changes.

Getting copy of iphone sent email into Thunderbird

What I can't figure out is how to get a copy of email sent from my iphone into the appropriate folder in Thunderbird on my PC.
I have 2 email accounts, 1 is a gmail acct and 1 is through my website domain, which is currently hosted on Bluehost.
The majority of my email activities take place via Thunderbird, which in on my PC.
I have both accts set up on my iphone. When I send an email from my phone, I can't find a copy anywhere.
There must be a way to automate this--please tell me how!

Is the 'alternative personality email address' set up as a mail account in it's own right or is it an additional Identity to the imap mail account?
If set up as 'identity':
Tools > Account Settings for the imap mail account.
click on 'Manage Identities' button
Select the additional identity email adress and click on 'Edit'
Click on 'Copies & Folders' tab
Select 'Palce a copy in'
Select : 'Other' and choose the 'Sent folder on the imap mail account.
make any other necesary changes.
click on OK to save changes to identity.
click on OK to save changes to Account Settings.

BCC automatically on emails sent from smartphone

I had a Treo 650 running palm software and it had a setting where I could bcc myself automatically on all email sent from my phone. I can not find a setting like this on my Treo 750 running Windows - does anyone know if one exists? I like to have copies of my sent emails so I can file them in folders on my computer. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks

I'm having the same issue. I redirect my work email into my gmail account (which is sent to my 750- Window Mobile 6) and when I reply I want to always BCC. This functionality was simple with my old 680 running Palm OS.
Have you found a solution yet!?!!?!?

Is there a way for a copy of emails sent from Blackberry to be saved to Sent email on web?

If you're using Gmail or Yahoo, it happens automatiicaly.
If you're on a private domain, it's hard to say what will happen, not knowing your email server type, POP or IMAP. However, at your BIS account login, where you setup your email push to the BlackBerry, you can set a BCC of all email to where ever you desire.

Copy of each email sent from Q10

previously i had the 9700 and in the options, for each email sent, it automatically sent copy of the email to my email address therefore i had copy of the email on my desktop pc. is this option available on the Q10 as cant find it

I've forgotten how to copy BB emails I've sent from my BB into my laptop inbox

I now have a Z10 (only quite pleased with it) but I have forgotten how to set up my email account on the BB so that all emails I send from my BB are automatically copied to the inbox on my laptop. Right now I'm having to remember either to cc myself into the emails I sent from the BB or (if I forget to do this) to forward them onto myself later. Please could some kind person tell me how to configure my Z10 so that I can have my BB emails automatically copied to my laptop inbox as happened with my previous BBs? Thank you very much.

Max, the function of your on-device "sent" emails automatically appearing in your laptop "sent" emails depends on your type of email server.
The way it worked in the past and now on the Z10 is different (past was BIS, now your on a Active Sync).
So, tell me, what email client are you using on your laptop or how do you view your email on your laptop?
Is this a gmail, yahoo, or hotmail account?

No automatic copy email in Email 3.21.0 and Nokia ...

Can't I send an automatic copy of an email to myself using Email 3.21.0 on a Nokia C5-00?
I want to do this with an IMAP account on my own server.
I had this ability on my Nokia E51 that I just replaced with my Nokia C5-00. I would be very surprised if Nokia has removed this function from the Email client.
On the E51, using this setting, I automatically cc-d myself on every outgoing message, then my IMAP server filtered incoming messages and put them in the SENT folder there if they appeared to come from my outgoing address and also have the header "X-Mailer: EPOC Email". This worked flawlessly.
I can still do the same filtering with copies sent to myself from the C5-00/Email 3.21.0 combination, but now I have to remember to manually 'cc' myself on every outgoing message--very difficult to do reliably in the midst of a busy day, in my experience.
Have I missed something here? Or is there another workaround?

I deleted my accounts, as you suggested, and was able to replace my GMail account.
However, none of my Google Apps accounts will work now - I get the message "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again." when I try to set them up online.
And please don't suggest I've entered something incorrectly - there are only four boxes - email address, password, name, and username - and I've double checked that I've got them all right. I've logged into and out of my accounts to check the password, and there is no two-factor authentication or anything like that on the accounts, which were working before I allowed that BLOODY UPDATE!!!
So, svi78, suggestions please? Or are you going to fade away now things have got tricky, which is the normal M.O. for Nokia employees on these forums.

Are they in the body of the mail?
Hold your finger down in that mail until the little blue bubble pops up. One of the options should be to select all. Choose that and all will be hilighted. then a pop up comes up to copy, choose that, open your destination and hold your finger down to get the paste dialogue.

To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files:
1. Quit Internet Explorer(any other browser)
2. Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
3. Choose Edit > Preferences.
4. Select Internet in the list on the left.

When I send an email, it won't put a copy in my "Sent" folder, can I fix this?

I have selected to put a copy in my "Sent" folder, and occasionally it will do it just, blip, blip, almost instantly.
Then most of the time it spends a minute or two trying to put a copy in the sent folder, says there was an error in doing so do I want to "try again", but trying again doesn't work. Only way to get rid of the "write" page is to say don't try. I hope somebody knows how to fix that. I'd sure like to. It seems to have actually
sent the message, but no copy in the sent folder to assure me of that. If I put my own address with another email handler and the Bcc checked, I get the sent message, but still no copy in my sent folder. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, D.Fox

No you're not doing anything wrong. Thunderbird looses the ability to move messages to folders on some random schedule. For me it usually only happens once every 10 days or so though I did go through a period where it was happening daily. Others have it happen all the time. There have been lots of threads spread out over months. Many people post that they did "something" and "something" it fixed it, but a few days later they come back and say "Whoops - spoke too soon!".
I think all we can do is hope someone finds it and fixes it someday.

There is no way that I know of within the native iPad email app. You might want to search the app store for a third party app that lets you change fonts if this is important.

Disappearing copy of email in the body of all main in sent box

Almost every day, I refer to previous email I have sent that is located in the "sent" mail folder. At least once each day or two, when I click on a letter within the "sent" folder, the body of the email contains the following message"
"The message from X (x=person's email name) concerning "email addressee" has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
When you send a letter, a copy of the email is kept in the "sent" folder. If you click on a letter, you can read the message you sent (in the body of the message). When this problem occurs, there is no copy of the email sent, just the message stated above.
The problem, is that the account is not offline, as I have checked each time I get the message. The only way to fix this has been for me to quit the mail program, and then re-open it from the dock. Then when I click on the message within the "sent" folder, the copy of what I sent is within the body of the email.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what is going on? Would upgrading to OS 10.4 fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

Are emails sent automatically stored in Mail?

Hello,
In setting up a Mail account there is an option in Mailbox Behaviors to check "Store sent messages on the server." If, like me, you have an IMAP account should this be checked or not?
With an IMAP account, if it IS checked does that mean email sent is ONLY stored on the server? And if it isn't checked does it mean it's only stored in the computer?
I'm confused because I thought with an IMAP account mail sent and received is automatically stored in both places. If that is so, does it make a difference whether it's checked or not?

You can try checking it, but depending on your provider it may, or may not do this task. My experience with Yahoo does not, but it seems to be "on this Mac" in sent.
(It does not seem to make any difference whether if if is checked or not when sending from my Mac, if sent from the web mail, they seem to be saved. This what seems to happen on mine, yours may be diffferent. I have no further explaination.???? They always seem to be stored on my Mac Sent.
Try it for yourself to see how it performs, send yor self some emails, and check to see where they are stored.
It also seems to be less pedicable with additional devices connected to the same acct.
I wait to delete till I have confirmed all the sent and received, then stored on my Mac before deleteing, that ay be for this provider only, as well as this extention. My suggestion is to test extensivly to confirm for your usage. There may be more advice/info from other users.
