Automatic Copy of Outgoing Mail?

Hey Gang!
is there a way to set Mail - on a certain Account - to automatically send a copy of each outgoing mail (from that certain account) to a given email address?
maybe with an Automator script?
thanks!

and how did you do that? there is an option in mail preferences->composing to automatically cc yourself. is this what you did?
I want to turn that option off. I cannot seem to find the option to do so. Can anyone help me?

Sorry for the delayed response. I neglected to subscribe to the topic after my initial post, and forgot to check for responses until now. The account in question is my young daughter's. I've already set it up so that I receive copies of all her incoming mail to my account, but I'd also like to get copies of all her outgoing messages. Of course, I've already set up the account so that she can only email with those I've added to her "white list." And of course, she's fully aware of my surveillance. Thanks.

  • How do you Forward outgoing Mail?

I understand Rules but an struggling to Forward a copy of Outgoing mail to another e-mail address.
I realize that I could set cc or bcc, but the point is that as a system administrator, I wish to do this (at least) semi-covertly.
A wider question, that amounts to the same thing, is how do I automatically apply rules to Outgoing or Sent e-mails?

Have you tried to bring up the message from "Sent" and then forward? That has worked for me with Mail and with Outlook and Outlook Express.

  • E-mail addresses used in Outlook messages automatically copied to my iPhone contacts

    Hi,
All the e-mail addresses I use in my daily use of Outlook/Exchange e-mail get automatically copied into my iPhone's contact list. I have never entered any of these e-mails as "contacts" - but the e-mail addresses get copied anyway.
I read some threads here - and followed one suggestion, to no avail.  The suggestion was to, in my iPhone, go into Settings > Mail Contacts Calendars > My E-Mail Account > Turn off "Contacts".  This didn't work.  It merely removed all the legitimately synched contacts.
    Help!
    Tom

I had the same problem. And yes they did go into my Contacts. They were shown as new contacts with the contact name being the email address I had used. The number of cards showing in contacts increased by over 100. I am familiar with the previous recipients list in Mail and this was not the issue.
I found that the problem was related to the fact that I was using Exchange. I went into System Preferences, selected Internet Accounts, selected Exchange and unticked the Contacts box. Result - the additional email addresses disappeared from my Contacts.
    Hope that helps.

  • No automatic copy email in Email 3.21.0 and Nokia ...

Can't I send an automatic copy of an email to myself using Email 3.21.0 on a Nokia C5-00?
I want to do this with an IMAP account on my own server.
I had this ability on my Nokia E51 that I just replaced with my Nokia C5-00. I would be very surprised if Nokia has removed this function from the Email client.
On the E51, using this setting, I automatically cc-d myself on every outgoing message, then my IMAP server filtered incoming messages and put them in the SENT folder there if they appeared to come from my outgoing address and also have the header "X-Mailer: EPOC Email". This worked flawlessly.
I can still do the same filtering with copies sent to myself from the C5-00/Email 3.21.0 combination, but now I have to remember to manually 'cc' myself on every outgoing message--very difficult to do reliably in the midst of a busy day, in my experience.
Have I missed something here? Or is there another workaround?

    Great.
I deleted my accounts, as you suggested, and was able to replace my GMail account.
However, none of my Google Apps accounts will work now - I get the message "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again." when I try to set them up online.
And please don't suggest I've entered something incorrectly - there are only four boxes - email address, password, name, and username - and I've double checked that I've got them all right.  I've logged into and out of my accounts to check the password, and there is no two-factor authentication or anything like that on the accounts, which were working before I allowed that BLOODY UPDATE!!!
So, svi78, suggestions please?  Or are you going to fade away now things have got tricky, which is the normal M.O. for Nokia employees on these forums.

  • Syncronization: How can i store mail for different accounts remotely, and copy most important mails manually to local folders on two devices?

Hello. I have two devices and two accounts, so what i want is this:
I only want to store mail from both accounts in a remote place and copy most important mails to local folders.
(I will be grateful for any ideas as to where/how this "cloud" can be - specially free places)
    * Can I have a copy of these local folders in both devices and the remote storage?
    * Could i synchronize devices so that: when i move a mail to a local folder in any device, its copied to the same folders in
the other device and the remote storage place?
    * The remote storage place will have many other folders. When I open Thunderbird, I also want to see these and the mail
inside, and also be able to move mail from the inbox to these folders.
    * One of the accounts is gmail. In Account Setting tool, there is an option for synchronization. If there is no easier way, I can have mail for other account copied to gmail, and just syncronize gmail mail. For this, how will I copy my present folder structure to gmail. And how can I syncronize the local folders on the two devices?
    Thanks in advance.

The first awkwardness I see is that there's no obvious format in which to store messages remotely such that you can work with them in an email client. It may be possible to set the "Local Directory" option in the account in Thunderbird to point at some remote folder (DropBox comes to mind) but I have never tried this and I'd be nervous about what happens if connection can't be made, or if you happened to access it from two different places simultaneously. The other concern is that mail stores get big, quickly, and you'd be forever uploading and downloading large (multi gigabyte) files. Thunderbird stores what looks like a folder containing many separate messages as one big file, so there's no simple opportunity for incremental changes to be up/down loaded.
The whole idea of Local Folders in Thunderbird is to detach messages from servers, so they don't track what happens on servers. I say this to point out the distinction between files stored locally and permanently ("Local Folders"), versus cached copies of online files ("synchronized"). It's not safe to regard your synchronized folders as permanent.
So, synchronized folders on an IMAP server are "mirrored" in Thunderbird so you do have a local (albeit temporary and transient) copy of messages; this is done mainly to avoid repeatedly downloading messages if you re-read them, and it makes searching faster an more efficient. But these "synchronized" message track what's being done on the server, and so if they are deleted anywhere, all synchronized devices will at some point also see the deleted messages vanishing. (Unless you made a local copy in the Local Folders account.)
I use a gmail account pretty much as you have described; I copy or move messages to that account so they are visible in my phone, my tablet, my own laptop and my works computer. It's free, and it's "in the cloud"; the only reservation I have is its privacy. There are other providers (e.g. 1&1/gmx) who don't seem to have the data collection fetish that google thrives on.
It's fairly simple to create filters in Thunderbird to automatically copy messages to your "cloud account"; even better is to set up forwarding rules on the other accounts' servers, so your messages are automatically sent on and waiting for you when you next login, already in the cloud account.

  • Can I set my iCloud email as the outgoing mail server for my google apps email account in Mac Mail?

I have a google apps email account from an old client, all my work emails have been going to it for years. As I'm no longer affiliated with this client I'd like to make a transition to using my iCloud account for work. I asked people to use my iCloud address but as they've been using my google apps address for years it's what automatically comes up when they type my name.
I figure the easiest way to make a transition is if I reply to all the emails that arrive at my old address from my iCloud address and gradually they will start using my new address without realising it. But I can't find a simple way to do this.
In Mac Mail preferences > accounts > Google IMAP (my old account name) > Account information > Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) I'd like to set my iCloud SMTP server. But although my iCloud account uses its own outgoing mail server for its own account , it is not in the server list when I select my google account. I've tried to add it to the server list as smtp.mail.me.com but it caused my whole iCloud account to give me error messages until I force quit Mail...
    Any ideas?

In iCloud/Mail, have you tried going to Preferences (select with gear at lower left)/Composing and setting a Send from address there?

You say you have the pse 5 disk?
I guess you do't have a dvd drive on your new windows 8 computer?
Do you have access to another computer with a dvd drive?
Anyway if you can find another computer with a dvd drive you could copy the pse 5 install disc to removable device like a camera card or flash drive.
You can also buy cheap usb dvd drives.

  • Relaying Outgoing Mail Doesn't seem to work

How can I get this working so all server like AOL accept my mail?

    #relayhost = $mydomain
    #relayhost = [gateway.my.domain]
    relayhost = smtp.comcast.net
    #relayhost = uucphost
    #relayhost = [an.ip.add.ress]
    # REJECTING UNKNOWN RELAY USERS
    then i did this:
    empco:~ james$ grep /etc/postfix/main.cf relayhost
grep: relayhost: No such file or directory
    Couple of things...
    1. Sorry, I got the grep command wrong way round! It should be...
    grep relayhost /etc/postfix/main.cf
All it does is show the lines in the file which contains "relayhost" - easier than listing the whole file.
    2. The GUI normally adds the options at the end of the file - so if grep lists another 'blank' relayhost, remark out your old one and edit the entry at the end. (just in case an existing blank entry at the end is overwriting your edited one).
    3. You can actually edit main.cf whilst the mail services are running. Just execute the reload command in Terminal afterwards...
    sudo postfix reload
The sudo prefix runs the command as root, so it will ask for the root (admin) password.
Any changes made like this should automatically show up in the Server Admin GUI. Click the 'refresh' button.
I've confirmed the above works on my test system, so here's hoping!

  • Why is Outgoing mail from my iPad not appearing in Outlook 2010?

I have set my iPad to synch with my gmail account.  In turn my gmail account downlaods and synchs with Outlook 2010 on my Windows 7 PS.
Everything works except that when I send mail from my iPad or reply to incoming mail from my iPad, my replies, whilst synchronising with my gmail account, and showing in the Sent folder in gmail, do not download to Outlook.
If I log into gmail (from my email or via Safari) and send mail direct from gmail these messagesshow in the Sent box and DO show in iPad gmail outbox and Outlook, though they show in the Outlook inbox!
So the only mail that gets stuck in gmail and won't download to Outlook is outgoing mail sent from gmail in my iPad.
I can work around this by sending a bcc to myself of every outgoing message I send from iPad.  In this case the Send copy shows up in the Sent folder in gmail and does not download to Outleook but the bcc copy arrives in nthe Inbox in gmail and does download to Outlook.  Its ugly but works.
A proper fix would be better - does anyone have any ideas?

For Exchange GMail there is a way to set your iOS device to use a different "Send As" name than when using a computer.  Unfortunately in your case, you can set your computer to send an alternate name but the iOS device can only send the default GMail name, which is the name associated with your account.  Ideally, you would like your iOS device to use the alternate and let your computer use the default.
But if you want to play around with this ...
1- On the iOS device itself, use Safari to navigate to m.google.com/sync.  You will have to log in at the prompt with your GMail account info.
2- Select the iOS device name (in case you have multiple iOS devices using Google sync).
3- Select "Enable 'Send Mail As' for this device" and Save the changes.
4- Using a computer, log into your GMail account and select Settings/ Accounts and Import, then at the "Send mail as" prompt select "edit info" (off to the right).
    5- Change your outgoing name.
The name you specify in #5 will be used by your computer, but the iOS device will continue using the original (default) outgoing name.  You can see why you need the opposite in your case, so unless you can change the default to be your wife's name and then set the alternate to be your name, I think you're out of luck.

  • Rule for outgoing mail?

    Hello,
I am currently using Entourage 2008 for mail and I have the ability there to create rules for BOTH incoming and outgoing mail items.
I have a friend that is only using MAIL in Leopard and he wishes to copy items from his sent items folder up to his mail server sent items folder. His mail account is set up as a POP3 account.
I am wondering if MAIL supports setting up outbound email rules.
I believe that my other solution is to set up a new IMAP account so that sent items are in sync with his mail server and he can refer back to them from his iPhone's IMAP account.
Can someone experienced creating mail rules enlighten me on this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind Regards

I have been using MailActOn for the past week and I have to say that it has solved ALL my problems and has made me way more efficient!
I have finally removed my last Mickey$oft vestige from my MAC. ( Entourage )
I was having some serious issues with the entourage database size and corruption.
I am an IT consultant and I get a ton of email every day.
My Entourage database size was in excess of 1.8 GB.
For some reason Entourage kept claiming I had a corrupt database daily and I needed to restore from backups constantly.
Now that I have switched to Mail.app it is not only faster, but I have been able to create more customized rules.
I HIGHLY recommend this add on!

  • Signatures in outgoing mail in Webclient

    hi all,
how to add signatures in outgoing mails in IC webclient. We are working on CRM5.0
i could found signature configuration in Winclient but not in  webclient.
    were is this configuration done.

    Hi Ramesh,
If you need automatic insertion, one of the options is to use ERMS functionality.
If you do not want to use ERMS, you need to modify your code, considering what email is currently open.
In ICWC email profile you need to add line (lines) like this:
      <Parameter id="Response" value="Signature"/>
value is the real name of mailform(s), after that it appears in responses selection box.
    Hope this helps.
