Automatic Database Configuration For Dbsnmp Password

Hi All,
does anyone know how to automatically configure the discovered databases by a certain management agent? It's really annoying to enter the password for the dbsnmp user again and again. I already tried the 'emctl config agent credentials <db_name>:oracle_database' (integrate this in a script would be a solution) but the problem here is that he don't encrypt the password in the targets.xml file so manually editing the targets.xml file is still necessary. Does anyone has a workaround for this?

Check the alert log.
The Alert log will always have Data Guard messages in it.
Example

Automatic posting configuration for GR/IR account

Dear Alll,
I need some clarification on Automatic posting configuration for GR/IR account. In OBYP, for transaction BNG-Invoiced but not yet delivered we maintain GR/IR clearing account, adjustment account and target account. As per my understanding, adjustment accounts and target accounts are only hit during closing time when GR/IR account has some value and that time it is checked using the transaction F.19 and the amount is posted to adjustment account and target account. Please point out where I'm wrong and provide explanation if I'm loosing on some point

You should make these posting to a cost center then..The only way you can control account postings via PO type is having a account assignement category. You can make this as mandatory filed for this PO type..

Bypass automatic proxy configuration for some websites?

Here's my problem, perhaps someone can help:
I occassionally need to use my university's proxy server to access library materials, etc., through my off-campus connection. So I entered the .pac file (a url) in the Automatic Proxy Configuration box of System Preferences > Network. All well and good.
The problem is, when I want to get more weather details from the weather widget for example, visiting a site like Accuweather.com throws up the login page for my proxy server. Having to enter my university id and password whenever I want to check the weather is guaranteed to drive me bananas.
So is there any way to keep sites like Accuweather.com from demanding I log into my proxy server when there's no reason to, while still keeping my auto proxy configuration in place for when I really need to use it? Anything I can do in Safari about this?
The other option seems to be to reserve one browser, configured with my university proxy, just for doing library research, etc., and another as a general surfing browser. I'd be happy to make Safari do general duty, and configure Camino to use the proxy server, but I can't seem to make this division work, since both use whatever's listed in Network Prefs. I can't tell one to use the proxy and the other not to, they're both controlled by this global pref.
I think I might be able to specify the proxy locally in Firefox, and leave Safari w/o the proxy...But I much prefer the look and feel of Camino...
Any ideas on how to get around this with Safari, or a combo of Safari and Camino?

However, using the accuweather.com example, I tried entering the domain name and it still calls up the login in Safari. I even tried looking up the site's IP address and entering that in different forms:

Still no luck, it calls up the proxy server...

Multiple database configuration for scan ip.

Hi All,
I am planning to implement 11gR2.
Grid infrastructure is already done. Now i need to create 4 database in the same oracle home.
There is a separate listener for each database with different port.
As i scan ip is configured using 1521 port.
My question is will my scan vip will work to connect to the database remotely if will give tnsstring with scan ip.
For e.g
for database 1, we are using port 1522
MYDB
(DESCRIPTION=
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=t24db-scan)(PORT=1522))
(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=master)))
for database 2, port is 1523

Jatin,
If there is a request to bring down a database, you will just shutdown that database. You should not shutdown the listeners, as they serve other databases.
Now that all listeners are running out of GRID Home (not database home), this is totally managed by CRS. We dont have to worry about managing them.. lets just manage the database. Same applies to patching also.. you need to bring down all services in the database home to apply the rdbms patches.. at this time, listeners can still be up (as they are not running out of database home).

Database configured for Syncronous mirroring and connection lost during transaction.

In a synchronous mirroring session data commit on mirror first and then on the primary. But in a scenarion that data has commited on Mirror but when it goes to commit on primary then then primary server goes down or via any behaviour it is not able
to commit on primary. then what is the flow, how we will get that data commit on primary.

Well, primary doesn't send data to mirror. It's the mirror server which would pull the data. As long as confirmation from mirror is not received, the transaction would not be committed.

Why does my mac ask for my password when automatic login is configured,it only happens every so often but when it does the it also shows no wifi installed

my mac is configured for automatic log in,but whenever i do not use it for a day orso it asks for my password to login,at the same time it states that there is no wifi installed ,i have to login and then reboot which is a pain.when checking disk permissions it states the SUID FILE has been altered and wont be ghanged back .any answers please.

Battery condition says normal but cycle count is on the high side.
May be better off with a new battery.

Siebel Database Configuration Wizard closes automatically

Siebel Database Configuration Wizard closes automatically at step when asked if the GRANTUSR.SQL script was alredy run. Before running the Wizard I already installed the Siebel Enterprise, Siebel Gateway, Siebel Server, SWSE Logical Profile and configurated them. The Siebel Database is available, tablespaces were created and I run the grantusr.sql and everything was OK.
I chose the option 'already run the grantusr.sql'. By doing this the Wizard closes automatically. No idea what's going on here.
Can anybody please help me? I've been sitting for hours trying to find out what happens.

I don't think, that that is the cause of my problem. Even when I started the Siebel gateway, the database configuration wizard doesn't work appropriately.
Sievel server and Oracle Database are in the same machine (a Windows XP Professional, 32-bit-virtual machine). I haven't installed the Oracle 10g Enterprise edition. Should I install the Oracle client as well?.
In my case the ODBC connection, the DSN Name is Enterprise Name_DSN: Siebel_test_DSN and points to the Driver: Oracle in OraDb10g_home3. The connection works for siebel/siebel, sadmin/sadmin, but not for sys/mypassword (sorry I am not a Database crack).
I also tested the connection with the odbcsql as in your email indicated. The connection works when trying with siebel/siebel and sadmin/sadmin (user/password).

We have an application developed in Forms 10G. The application Login page has 3 fields, one for Username, Password & Database Name. We want to pre fill the database name field with a value (e.g. TEST1) which cannot be changed by the user. In previous versions of the application developed in Forms 6i we were able to do this using a Registry Entry on the Windows Client PC. We are now running the new application on Oracle 10G Forms & Reports hosted on a Solaris 10 Server.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible to configure and if so how and where it needs to be configured in the application server? Or, if not if it can only be done progammatically in the login form.

- in the login-form in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE-Trigger access the Database name with
v_ connect_string := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(connect_string);

Monitor multiple databases for expiring passwords?

I have created a cutom report in Grid Control that sends a daily report to the DBAs each morning that reports on nonresponsive agents, failed backups, policy violations, etc. I would like to add a section for expired passwords but I'm unable to find that information in the repository. The closest I've come is an alert for "There have been x failed login attempts in the last 30 minutes." but I'd like something that would alert me before the password expires, ideally some configurable number of days before the expiration. Is that information available in the repository? I have considered a user-defined metric but we monitor around 150 databases that do not have common usernames or passwords so I think that would be difficult to maintain.

The default profile and all our end-user profiles have password expiration set to 90 days.
What I have done for now is decrease the threshold of the "Failed Login Count" metric to 3 for the Warning threshold since that is the number of attempts a user gets before locking the account. That at least will alert the DBAs if a user has locked an account or an application or automated process is attempting to connect to an expired account.
What would be ideal is if I could report on passwords that have not yet expired but are near the expiration time without having to connect to each database to check but it appears that information is not available in the oem respository.

Log in to your account, and move all your files to your home folder. No other users should be able to access them there and they won't show up with a Spotlight search.
Make sure your kids' account(s) do not have admin privileges.

The client requirement is
In A/R the customer accounts are not automatically clearing when a payment is posted for that account. We are still seeing all open items and all paid or cleared items when we go to FBL5N and select open items for viewing. Please make account clearing automatic for customer payments.

Use T code OB74.
Maintain for your Chart Of Account, acct type "D", From and to customer accounts and then add the critera you want. Pls note you cannot define more than 5 criteria.
Then schedule the clearing program job F.13 in the background.

After downloading updates and automatically restarting my computer, it asks for a password and says I can use my apple ID but then will not accept my apple ID which I have verified on my ipad

When I got the message that there were updates, I accepted them and then my computer restarted automatically. Next it asked for a password which I gave but that was not accepted. I got a message that I could use my apple ID so I did that. It also was not accepted. I verified that I had the correct apple ID on my iPad. Still can not get my Mac book pro running.
