Automatic DATE stamp on the file name of each picture

How do we get the date to be saved in the filename?  such as IMG-20130925 ??
Please.  I would really like to make sure my pictures have the date in the file when saved.
And where can I find the File Properties... of each picture?
Thanks!

Correct. The file naming convention can not be changed.

  • Schedule a report with the system date imbeded in the file name

    Hello,
    Could anyone tell me how I can schedule a crystal report with the system date imbedded in the file name (FileNameYYYYMMDD) through BOE?  When I scheduled the report through BOE, I gave a file name and selected Attach Date Time, but the file name is coming out slightly differently and with the time imbedded as well (FileNameYYYY-MM-DD-HH-MN I think). Is there a way to change the default system date time format in BOE so that the date stamp comes out the way we want it?
    Thanks!

    %SI_STARTTIME% will add the time the report ran too.
    Adding onlt the date will necessarily have to be done via the appropriate SDK.

  • How to rename a flat file concatenating date and time the file name?

    I created a package where I run a first interface that uses a flat file from a server and load into a table in Teradata.
    After using the API OdiFtpPut, I used an FTP file and send to an outfit.
    Since this procedure will operate daily, I need at the time of FTP, get the concatenation destination file name, date and time of execution.
    What is the best practice for this?

    Using OdiFtpPut in the field where it informs the destination file name, instead of putting just the file name (lpn_pln.csv), I put as follows:
    - lp_pln_+<% = odiRef.getSysDate (ddMMyyyyhhmm ")%>+. csv
    For code example, today would record the name lp_pln310120111412.csv

  • Adding the file name to each page of a pdf

    I need to find a script that will allow me to add the file name of a pdf to each page within the pdf. I need the file name to appear in one of the corners of the pdf.
    for example if the file name is 001.pdf then I need to somehow attach that so it appears in one of the corners of ach page within the pdf
    I have to do this for 20,000 pdf files so any help would be massively appreciated.
    thanks
    Jim

    I assume you have Acrobat Pro for editing, although you don't say.
    This should get you started by showing how to extract the name of one file (that you have selected) in the Finder and then to pass this to a JavaScript that is executed by Acrobat:
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #FFDDFF;
    overflow: auto;">
    tell application "Finder"
    set theFile to selection as alias
    set theTitle to name of theFile
    end tell
    tell application "Adobe Acrobat Pro"
    open theFile
    --now add theTitle to the bottom/centre of all pages
    do script "this.addWatermarkFromText({ cText: \"" & theTitle & "\", nFontSize: 12, nHorizAlign: app.constants.align.center, nVertAlign: app.constants.align.bottom, nVertValue: 12});"
    --uncomment one of these options
    --close document 1 saving no
    --close document 1 saving yes
    end tell </pre>
    I just noticed that you want the name in a corner - just change the word 'center' to 'left' or 'right'

  • HT2506 Change the file name of a picture in preview

    I want to change the file name of a photo. It opens in preview and when I click change name the text box opens, I type in the new name and when I click save it reverts to the original document name. It file is not locked.

    Don't click Save. It isn't needed and causes it to revert.
    Just change the name and hit enter.

  • How do I find the file name on a picture while it is still in the iPhone?

    I have one picture file that won't download despite being a .jpg file.  iPhoto says it is an unrecognizable format. Trying to figure out what picture it is, or a way to delete the file and thus the annoying message with each sync.

  • N8 - Dukto changes date stamp on transferred files

    I downloaded Dukto a few days ago after reading about it on another post on the forum.
    I have used it a few times to transfer some data to my phone from a PC but for the first time I have just tried it to transfer data the other way, ie from the phone to the PC.  The files I chose were images from the camera and I am very disappointed to realise that Dukto has altered the date stamp on the files, to the time they were transferred (rather than leaving it at when the pictures were taken)
    Is there any way round this, because I was starting to like the speed and ease of use of Dukto but for me, it is unacceptable if it changes what is a major plus point in digital photography, ie an automatic time stamp on images.
    If there is no way round it, does anyone know of an alternative way of using Wi-Fi to transfer files in both directions, that does not mess with the timestamp info.

    Hi.
    The case you described is right. But it´s not a bug.
    Why don´t you organise your pics/vids on your desktop with picasa for example. There you have many tools, also to rename your files, so that the filename contains the creation date.
    Or you use a cloud solution like dropbox, google+ or amazon clouddrive to sync pics/vids from your phone automatically.
    But never use the built-in sony playmemories. It´s really slow, pics are down-scaled to 1280x720 and vids are not synced. It´s the worst cloud-service for pics I´ve seen.

  • How to store the File Name from a Unix Directory into a ODI variable?

    Hi,
    I have built a ODI package with the following steps:
    1. ODI is polling for a flat file in a Unix directory. I have used OdiFileWait tool for this purpose. Here the file name is not fixed, so I am using wild character (*) to poll for file. Example: DF*ABC1*.DAT where the first wild character denotes 1 letter and the second wild character denotes 2 digits.
    2. In the second step, if the file is found, I am moving the file to ODI file server path (../oracledi/demo/file). Here I have used ODIFileMove tool.
    3. Then I am using an ODI Interface to Load the file data into a Oracle database table.
    4. I am using a Process log table to keep the log for each step I am executing in ODI that is ODIFileWait, ODIFileMove, Interface etc. for each file. In this table a row needs to be inserted after ODIFileWait tool gets the file, with the File Name and File Date. Later on this row will be updated as the consequent steps are executed.
    Here is my concern, I need to get the exact File Name of the file after ODIFileWait gets the file and I need to insert that in the Process Log table after the ODIFileWait step gets a file. So if I can store the File Name in a ODI Variable, I can insert it into the Process log table at this point. This I am not able to do.
    The files are coming in a different directory (not in ODI file server path), So after getting the file it is moved to ODI file server path (../oracledi/demo/file)
    The Files which I am processing are fixed length format. Also, the File name and File Date is stored in the 1st Record(Header record) of the files.
    Kindly provide me suggestions to implement this in my code.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anik

    Look at this link -http://odiexperts.com/getting-one-or-several-unknown-files-from-a-directory
    change the command to fetch the ls command and write into File and then using either java or jython break the data and fetch the file name and date and insert into log table.
    (or)
    you can use the os.system command and get the complete ls command into string and then process and insert it.
    Let us know if you need any other help.

  • SSIS - creating part of the file name from an id in the database

    I am trying to figure out how to pull an "id" from my data source to include in the file name. Right now the file name created looks like customer_002_timestamp.txt. I need to add the id to the file name and I need to grab it at the time I get
    the data, so then the file name becomes customer_002_id_timestamp.txt.
    My data source is Oracle and I am using Attunity, so I do not have the capability of using the resultset found in the SQL Task because I have to use the data task.
    Has anyone ever extracted an id from a query against Oracle using the Attunity connector to add as part of the file name? If so, how would I add that to my control flow task?
    Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Is it a static id value you want
    Then you can just use a SSIS variable to hold value from resultset in execute sql task
    Then inside your data flow you can use an expression for setting value of another variable which can be used for setting filename in your destination task. The expression will include logic to concatenate id variable also which we populated in the previous
    step.

  • Incorrect file name when importing pictures from camera

    I am using PE 10 on Mac Snow Leopard.
    When I import pictures from my camera and select "Rename Files" with "Custom Date" + "Shot Date" (any format), the file name includes the custom name correctly, but the date part of the file name is some random date (with a weird year: 1913, 1969). Note the example shown on the Photo Downloader is usually the one used. The shot date in the meta data is usually correct. This appears to be similar to a problem when using the "Create Subfolder" option.
    Any ideas why or a work-around?
    I was using PE 8 and did not have this problem.

    Hi dannrendon2,
    Have you successfully run the PSE10_Hot.dmg file? You will not see any change in PSE10 or PhotoDownloader , it is just for fixing the issue of incorrect date format .
    Please follow all the steps mentioned in KB article link mentioned above. Finally when you installed the updater there would be a message of successful installation .
    If there is a failure in your updating process [In your case it is second attempt of updation, there may be a failure] , uninstall your application , check if there is any residual file in application folder under Elements Organizer or Photoshop Elements (delete them). Now again install PSE10 and try to update PSE10_HotFix.dmg updater. There should be a successfully completed message.
    Thanks,
    Nizam

  • Date and time stamp for the file

    Hi Experts,
    My Requirement is to create a csv file with the name testfile_date&timestamp.
    If i select add time stamp in the receiver file communication channel the file be as testfile_yyyymmdd_hhmmss_XXX.
    The XXX is message id which comes by default by selecting add timestamp option.
    but, i don't want the message id displayed in the file name.As i know from the blogs  we can reach this requirement as per Michels blog
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    I am not clear in the mapping. after writing the udf, to which filed i need to map with that udf.
    can you please tell me stel by step how how to do mapping and how to achieve the requirement. request you to send the code forthe  udf.
    Thanks
    Rahul

    Hi,
    you can wirte udf and map it to root element of the target message type. u just need to execute the udf.
    UDF:
    // UDF havs one input parameter - timestamp
    Code:
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container .getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String OldFileName  =  conf.get(key);
    String newFileName  =  "";
    if (OldFileName != null) {
        newFileName = "testfile_" +timestamp ;
        conf.put(key, newFileName);
    return  newFileName;
    Mapping:
    Date (standard function) [Formmat yyyyMMdd_hhmmss] -> UDF -> MesageType.
    Thanks.

  • How to use javascript to "save as" using form data in the file name

    I want to be able to use a button to "save as" and have it automatically pick up and use certain data from the fields in the file name. without having to manually type in the file name.
    Name: john doe
    Date: 1-25-13
    file name would be  (john doe 1-25-13)

    You will need two parts for this. A folder level script (which you place in a .js file under the JavaScripts folder of Acrobat), and a script embedded in the file itself (probably attached to a button).
    The folder-level script will look like this:
    var mySaveAs = app.trustedFunction( function(oDoc,cPath) {
        app.beginPriv();
        try {
            oDoc.saveAs(cPath);
        } catch(e){
            app.alert("Error During Save");
        app.endPriv();
    The doc-level script can look something like this (of course, you might need to adjust the names of the fields used):
    var filePath = this.path.replace(this.documentFileName, "");
    var newFileName = this.getField("name").valueAsString + " " + this.getField("date").valueAsString + ".pdf";
    mySaveAs(this, filePath+newFileName);
    You should be aware that several characters are not allowed in the file name, including comma's, forward- and back-slashes, line-breaks and excalmation marks, so if you try to use them the script would fail. It is possible to create a more advanced version of this script that will automatically remove such characters from the file-name, or alert the user if they used them.

  • Should the web page address be included in the file name in the meta data dialog box?

    In the page properties > meta data > below is a field with the label file name: (the the area to type in the field), after the field, it is labeled .html.
    I have 2 questions here.
    1. If I type in http//:www (my page url), do I include .html at the end? I didn't know if this is automatically added because it is off to the side of the field?
    2. If I type in the entire URL address: http//:www (etc, etc).html,    after closing the page properties dialog box, I make it a habit to double check my work. What happens is the http//:www.xxx changes to (htttpwww.xxx). It drops the //: on the URL.
    So would it be better to just type in www.xxx (without the http//:www.xxx)
    and do you type in the .html at the end?
    I am assuming this will help with SEO page ranking or at least makes it easier for the search engines to crawl your site??
    I hope this makes sense.
    Advise would be very helpful.
    Ben

    You are absolutely correct with the URL Ben. Taking your above example, you just need to type in "Services" in the file name and the webpage will be exported as services.html and the URl will be  www.xyz.com/services.html.
    All the webpages (be it parent page or child page) gets physically saved at the root directory of your website on the server (where your website resides).
    This name is just the name of the file using which it is physically stored and called from the server. It does not help search Engines to crawl deeper inside the website.
    As I explained, "name which you wants the .html file to be stored with" here means the name of the physical file which is getting saved on the server.
    Most users leave the file name same as Page name. If you have it different from page name then this will be the workflow :
    Page Name : About
    File Name : test
    domain : www.mysite.com
    Now if you are  using a Menu Widget, it will list "About" in the Menu. And when end user will click on "About" then it will call the file named "test.html" from the server location (where all the files of your website are stored).
    And it will open a page with address "www.mysite.com/test.html"
    Hope I am able to explain the concept of File Name here. Please let us know if you have further queries on this.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • Does anyone know how to use pages so you can export pdfs from the internet and automatically drag words from the document into the file name of the pdf (i.e., author, title of a scientific paper)

    Does anyone know how to use pages so you can export pdfs from the internet and automatically drag words from the document into the file name of the pdf (i.e., author, title of a scientific paper). For example, if I am downloading a paper by smith called "Surgery" that was published in 2002, it will automatically set the file name in the download to smith- surgery 2002. I have heard pages is smart enough to do this.
    thank you

    Pages can export only its own documents. They may be exported as PDF, MS Word, RTF or Text files.
    Pages can import (ie. Open a file as, or Insert a file into, a Pages document) documents in several formats, but won't rename the document as you describe. Documents that can be Opened (eg. Text, AppleWorks 6 WP, MS Word files) are converted to Pages documents, and retain their original names, with .pages replacing the original file extension. Files that can be Inserted (generally .jpg, .pdf and other image files) become part of the existing Pages file and lose their names.
    It may be possible, using AppleScript, to extract the text you want and to Save a Pages file using that text as the filename, but that would depend in part on being able to identify which text is wanted and which is not.
    How will the script determine where the author's name begins and where it ends?
    How will the script recognize the beginning and of the title, an decide how much of the title to use in the filename?
    How will the script recognize the year of publication?
    For papers published in a specific journal, with a strict format for placing each of these pieces on information, or containing the needed information as searchable meta data in the file, this might be possible. But it would require knowledge of the structure of these files, and would probably handle only papers published in a specific journal or set of journals.
    Outside my field of knowledge, but there are some talented scripters around here who might want to take a closer look.
    Best of luck.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • I can not transfer date from one hard drive to another, I keep getting an error because I have two of the same file names and one file name is in caps and I cant change the file name

    can not transfer date from one hard drive to another, I keep getting an error because I have two of the same file names and one file name is in caps and I cant change the file name. My original external has an error and needs to be reformatted but I dont want to lose this informations its my entire Itunes library.

    Sounds like the source drive is formatted as case sensitive and the destination drive is not. The preferred format for OS X is case insensitive unless there is a compelling reason to go case sensitive.
    Why can't you change the filename? Is it because the source drive is having problems?  If so is this happening with only one or two or a few files? If so the best thing would be to copy those over individually and then rename them on the destination drive.
    If it is more then you can do manually and you can't change the name on the source you will have to reformat the destination as case sensitive.
