Automatic Date & Time

Somehow the Automatic date & time, and the Automatic time zone settings get themselves unchecked.  I don't know how it happens, but it's happened three times in the past month.  Is there some way to lock them, and perhaps other settings as well, so they can't be changed?  Or is access to all settings on the LG G2 wide open all the time?

Thank you for the quick response!  I have never backed up the phone nor restored to factory data reset.  It's a new device.  I've had it for about a month.  I am the only user of this phone.  There are no kids in the house.
I suspect what's happening is that it is very easy to get to the settings page from the front panel, and that if the I put the phone in my pants pocket, it doesn't take much to get into settings mode and from there to the date settings and from there turning off those automatic time/date settings.  I've notice other settings get turned off as well, so it's not just the date and timezone.  If there was some way to make it harder to get to the settings page, that would help a lot.  Maybe if that link were hidden, or just not on the front panel?
The first time this happened I was on a trip to a different time zone.  I set the alarm clock to wake me up for the flight back home, and when did went off it was 32 minutes late.  The next time it happened I had set an alarm clock for a morning business meeting and it got me there an hour early.  And then it happened again this week but now I check the time every night, so I caught it.
I was using a blackberry for years before this phone, and they made the settings pages well hidden.  So I was hoping there was a way they could be hidden better on this phone.

  • I have lost the automatic date/time stamp

I have lost the automatic date/time stamp when a form is submitted on my response page.  How do I make it start doing it again?  The column just appears blank now with new submissions.

In the first cell of the column you need to re-enter the formula that used to be there.  Enter "= LOCALTIME(ROWCREATEDATE()".  You may need to change the date format after this.  Click on the Table button in the toolbar, select the Column with the dates, then select your prefered format.

  • Time is delayed by 10 minutes when you use Automatically Date & Time

Time is delayed by 10 minutes when you use Automatically Date & Time in France

It is not carrier as all my Apple products where up to 10 minutes fast. I had to reset each product to the correct time. I'm in New Zealand.

  • TS3297 I find the instructions to use automatic date/time in ts3297 to be totally unacceptable.

I do things on my MBP (software builds) that REQUIRE consistent timestamps. I also travel extensively, which frequently results in "going backwards in time' (flying east to west). Updating date/time automatically causes total confusion for my builds, among other things.
I haven't debugged (yet) the same error message on my iPhone 4 which _does_ have 'automatic date/time' set.
My iPhone 4S and original iPad seem to work just fine. The 4S has automatic date/time, original iPad has manual date/time.
All ios devices are 5.1.1, MBP is Mountain Lion. In other words, no software updates required for any device.
The interesting thing, it's only updates.... Now that _does_ require date/time info, but I would expect to see 'no updates found', not 'unable to connect'.

Okay, checked the iPhone 4 debug steps.
Not my ISP, I can press 'featured' in the App Store and see what's up. Safari works, etc.
Doesn't matter whether connection is Wi-fi or 3g, fails.
Powered down/up, no change. Switched from automatic to manual and back, no change.
Went back to MBP, the OSX app store works just fine. It found I needed to update iTunes on my MBP. We'll see what happens after that. Can't expect it to solve my iPhone 4 issue, though.
Download time for iTunes update is 35+ minutes (hotel connection). I'll be back.....

  • Automatic date/time stamp a document

Is there a way to automatically insert a date/time on a document? I have a program that allows me to alter pdf documents and I need to be able to enter the date and time. Blackberry allowed me to type "dt" and it would automatically enter it for me. Does Apple have a feature similar?

I have looked at that but haven't been able to figure out how to use or edit the stamp.  Is there a place
to set up time/date stamping, or maybe it's to be done manually?  In either case, I haven't been able to figure how to do a stamp that is anything other than the stock stamp.

  • HT4995 Location Services and Automatic Date & Time

What do you do when selecting 'Set Automatically" in the Settings>General>Date & Time is not accurate?  Also what should be done when Location Services, specifically the Maps app, through wi-fi at home are inaccurate?  Both are showing the time zone and location of the home I just moved away from.

    - For location, the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi router that are in Apple's database. It sounds like you took the router with yo and Apple has not yet updated their database. They update it via information obtained from iPhones. There is not way to tell Apple to update an individual router.
    - Do you have the right time zone select in Settings>General>Date&Time? That is not part of the Automatic setting.

  • Automatic date & time not working on my iPhone 4S

Anyone got any ideas on why, when I set date & time to change automatically, does my iphone 4s revert to London time regardless of where I am?

Switch to manual and the time where you are. Do it several time then return to automatic. Correct time should stand

  • Automatic Date & Time not working in Pages 5

I have some templates that I had created with Pages 09 which have Date & Time fields that are set to auto update.  When I open those templates in Pages 5, the dates are displayed as 7 days in the past.  When I right-click on the field to edit it, I don't see any such option to edit the date like I did in Pages 09.
So I tried inserting a new Date & Time field.  This inserts today's date as expected, but there is still no way to edit the date in any way (formatting, auto update option, etc.) that I can find.  Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

It might be that you need to recreate your document and tables in Pags 5 and then resave it as a template.  Pages '09 gave an "update on open option" with a date insert wich is not there in Pages 5.  So simply insert the today() or now() function into a table cell in Pages 5 and it will update to the current value.  When you select the cell in the table with either of these functions, the Format inspector Cell tab gives you the option to format these calculations further.

  • How to insert automatic Date/Time Stamp on filename?!

I have a simple chart that I fill out for work hours and whatnot every day with the Numbers program.
I would love to have the date inserted into the filename automatically so that I don't have to manually enter it every day when I save.
    Is this possible?

  • Automatic date & time 6 minutes slow on O2

Anyone else see this? I noticed my iPhone & my PC didn't agree on the time this morning. I tried setting the iPhone manually but as soon as I switched the option back to *Set automatically* the iPhone time gets set 6 minutes behind every other clock in my flat. I assumes O2's time server is out but that seems like a quite a big discrepancy.
    tt2

Maybe your PC is off and O2's time is correct?
Or it could be the other way around.
Try setting your time from here - http://www.atomic-clock.org.uk/atomic-clock.php

  • Report automatical date/time

Hello again. I have a table with some columns, a form on this table from which i insert data, but i want that on the report, at a specific column, instead of me entering the value, i want it automatically to insert the sysdate (date and hour/minutes) something like "select sysdate from dual". Is it possible to do what i want?

    Hi Wintermute3190,
Can you create a sample of your page in apex.oracle.com.
Does your table have Data filed..
Is it a report or tabular form...
If it is a tabular form/ or normal form... how are you creating it .. using wizard or manualluy.
If u r creating using wizard , then Data field will be included in it .. you just need to
    go to source tab
source used Alway replacing existing value in the session state
    source typ sql query
and in source value or expression
    enter select sysdate from dual;
If this doesn't work the create a dummy application in apex.oracle.com and give the credentials.. so that have we can solve it.

Your program does not create an Excel File.  It creates a text file that Excel is able to open up and import.
As it is right now, the name of the file you create is  determined by a dialog box that pops up with the old version of the Open/Create/Replace file that you have.  If you want the program to determine the file name, you need to build a file path out of string data in the same manner you are using the string coming from the Get Date/Time String function you have inside the loop.

  • Automatically displaying date and time in a date/time field on form initialize

    Good day all;
I am trying to have the current date and time automatically be generated in a “date/time” field when the form is opened.
I went through the forum and found an entry from Srini “ xfa.host.messageBox("" + Date());” . Of course this brought up a system message box with the date and time.
I then tried “DateTimeField1.rawValue = (“”+date())… This also gave me a system message box with the date and time…
Please let me know where I am going wrong
    Chomp

Found the answer... And yes... in was in the "help" section... What can I say I was making it a lot more crazy than I needed to.
You can use a date/time field to automatically show the current date by using the Runtime Property option in the Value tab of the Object palette.
When using a current date field, the date updates to reflect the system’s current date each time a user opens the form.
    1.
In the Library palette, click the Standard category and drag a Date/Time Field object onto the form design.
    2.
In the Object palette, click the Value tab and select Calculated - Read Only from the Type list.
    3.
    Select the Runtime Property option.
    4.
View the form in the Preview PDF tab.

  • Inserting an automatic Date and Time

    Hello Everyone,
Thanks for all the help in the past.
I own a couple of summer rental duplexes at the Jersey shore

  • Snow Leopard users: Turn off automatic date and time in System Preferences immediately

    http://arstechnica.com/apple/2014/12/apple-automatically-patches-macs-to-fix-sev ere-ntp-security-flaw/
When exploited, the NTP flaw can cause buffer overflows that allow remote attackers to execute code on your system.
What this means is that, if you allow date and time to be set automatically by outside servers, you risk having your computer taken over.
This is a critical issue, it's being exploited as we speak, and Apple has not provided the update to Snow Leopard users, only to 10.8/Mountain Lion and above. I strongly doubt Apple will ever get around to issuing an update for Snow Leopard, or they would have already. Chances of that happening are close to zero

To me 10.6.8 is still the best OS X Apple ever released and I patched my system just like the shellshock back in September. It's really easy if you have some basic shell skills and XCODE installed,
Here is what I did, it may save you some time:
    open the terminal app
    1) Download the source code, apply the patch (I got the source code links from the ntp site)
    cd ~
    mkdir ntpd-fix
    cd ntpd-fix
    curl http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~ntp/ntp_spool/ntp4/ntp-4.2/ntp-4.2.8.tar.gz | tar zxf -
    2) Patch and compile the ntp source code
    cd ntp-4.2.8/ntpd
    curl http://bugs.ntp.org/attachment.cgi?id=1165 | patch -p1
    cd ..
    ./configure && make
    3) Open the system preferences - Date & Time - uncheck Set date and time automatically (to stop the process)
    4) Rename the old object and then replace/copy them with the new objects
    cd /usr/bin
    sudo mv sntp sntp.old
    sudo mv ntpq ntpq.old
    sudo mv ntp-keygen ntp-keygen.old
    cd /usr/sbin
    sudo mv ntpdc ntpdc.old
    sudo mv ntpdate ntpdate.old
    sudo mv ntpd ntpd.old
    cd ~/ntpd-fix/ntp-4.2.8
    sudo cp sntp/sntp /usr/bin
    sudo cp util/ntp-keygen /usr/bin
    sudo cp ntpq/ntpq /usr/bin
    sudo cp ntpdc/ntpdc /usr/sbin
    sudo cp ntpdate/ntpdate /usr/sbin
    sudo cp ntpd/ntpd /usr/sbin
    sudo chown root:wheel /usr/bin/sntp
    sudo chown root:wheel /usr/bin/ntp-keygen
    sudo chown root:wheel /usr/bin/ntpq
    sudo chown root:wheel /usr/sbin/ntpdc
    sudo chown root:wheel /usr/sbin/ntpdate
    sudo chown root:wheel /usr/sbin/ntpd
    5) Open the system preferences - Date & Time - uncheck Set date and time automatically (to start the process)
    6) Done.
    -- update time manually
    sudo ntpdate -u time.apple.com
-- check ntpd version (should now be: ntpd [email protected])
    sudo ntpd --version
