Automatic Delele Media Cache content (DOMAIN USERS)

Hello,
I would like to know if theres any way to configure an automatic delete for the media cache content?
I ask that 'cause in our production we have 40 machines, each one with several user domains accounts and, if the don't set a limit for the media cache folder in each one preferences, the system disk will get full every time.
Or maybe some configuration that set up a default media cache preferences for all users (without need to log on with the user on each machine and configure that).
Looking forward some reply.
Regards,
Antonio Victor

Media Cache Database is shared between Adobe Media Encoder, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Encore. If you change path to Media Cache and/or Media Cache Files folder(s) in one application, changes are automatically reflected in all other ones. None of Adobe application is currently capable of cleaning Media Cache Database entirely (i.e. correctly), hence you need to do that at OS level (either manually or via scheduled tasks etc.).
By the way, you may probably want to permanently change Media Cache Database location from OS drive to another one.

  • Lightroom 5.3 Media Cache Files

    Hello,
I want to save in Lightroom 5.3, the Media Cache files in a different directory. I have Lightroom and PS CS6 installed on a 60 GB SSD and the media cache files quickly take 10 or more gigabytes.
In the registry as DatabasePath and FolderPath is set:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Adobe \ Common LR5 \ Media Cache]
    "DatabasePath" = "C: \ Users \ Username \ AppData \ Local \ Adobe \ Lightroom \ cache \ Video \"
    "FolderPath" = "C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Local \ Adobe \ Lightroom \ cache \ Video \"
If I change the path in the registry is Lightroom the path when playing the first video unfortunately always come back.
How can I change the path permanently.

  • One Domain user have problem seeing flash Content.

    Hallo.
Im a IT student in a small company (around 100 domain users). We are using windows 7 and the latest Flash version (12.0.0.38). We are using Internet explore 11.
All the users in our domain have same rights. But one of them have a flash problem. He cant see flash on his userprofile. It prompt him with the message "You need to install flash version 10.1 or higher.....". I tried all kind of stuff and fixes from your forum. Registry, clear Internet explore cashe, Settings updating internet explore, downgrading it. uninstalling/installing flash like 10 times, but nothing seems to work. Mozilla dont work either, the only way he can see flash content is from Google Chrome browser, and we dont support that.
If i open Internet Explore as administrator its fine, so the computer know its there, but something is blocking flash or something for him as a user.
"His" the only problem. Any idea?
    thanks

If he's sending to users in the same Exchange organization and having this issue, I suggest checking to see if he's configured as an IAMP or POP connection in Outlook.  Internal delivery should never be marked as spam.  If he does have an IMAP
or POP connection, change it to an Exchange connection, preferably on cached mode.
If it's to external recipients, though, the recipient will need to add this person's address to their trusted senders list.  The sending organization can't change how a receiving organization is going to handle their email.

  • Do I need all those media cache files in my user profile?

    Hello Forum,
When I installed Win 7 and Adobe Production Premium on a 120Gig SSD, I made this mistake of not putting only the essential part of Windows on this System and Apps drive. (I have separate 1Tb HDDs for media and rendering, and work with compressed HD files).  I noticed that my user profile has grown enormous, to the point of filling up the SSD, and when I searched to see why, the main problem is a substantial accumulation of media cache files in the folder...
    user/App Data/Roaming/Common/Media Cache Files
Judging by their names, sizes, and dates, they seem to pretty much replicate all my raw media files on my media HDD, from all the projects I've done since last summer. This folder is about 40 gigs.
So what is the function of this media cache folder? Can I move it, or direct PP to put this stuff on some other drive than my SSD? Do I even need the contents of this folder? All my scratch files go to the F: Rendering HDD.
    Thanks.
PS: If any of you have suggestions on how to move my user profiles off the boot/apps SSD to one of the HDDS, without reinstalling everything, I'm all ears.

To follow up, I now see this is a product of running AME, and AME gives me options of where to put all this stuff. Can I just change those options to my F: Rendering Drive, and move the contents of this folder there?

    Hello,
Did you means that other domain user account (Other-Domain\user3) can access reports on the Report Manager without grant any permission? As per my understanding, it is not possible. SQL Server Reporting Services uses Windows Authentication
defaultly to determine who can perform operations and access items on a report server.
Based on your description, you grant the local Administrators group and two domain users with system-level role: System Administrator.  System-level role assignments grant access to global tasks and permissions that apply to a report
server site, That's may cause the user can access and manage all contents on the Report Manager.
If you want to set permissions for accessing conntents on Report Manager, you can just specify itme-level role assignments. For example, if you grant user with Browser role on a report, the user can view report and report properties, but cannot edit
    report properties.

  • Windows XP SP3 cached domain user credentials are not updating after password change over VPN

We have a bunch of sales people who stay on the road indefinitely, using Windows XP SP3 domain joined laptops.
When they change their domain user password, while connected through the VPN, the cached credentials are not updating locally on their laptops.  This causes issues at their next Windows login, where they have to use their prior password to gain access
to the OS.  Then when they connect through the VPN client, they have to use their new password.  We have already tried Microsoft KB 829652 (which was rolled up with SP3 anyways).
I have found several work arounds, but I would like to attack the root cause.

You have to recache the credentials if you change the password. You may have to get the user to log in locally. Then connect to VPN. Once connected to vpn, have them do a run as on any program...I usually use notepad or internet explorer (this will
cache their credentials with the updated password.).

  • How-to-tick-automatically-adjust-clock-for-daylight-saving-changes-for-domain-users

    hi
    please help me
I am using windows 2008 as a domain controller with windows XP & windows 7 as a client.

    Thanks in Advance
    my mail: [email protected]

Some more information would be nice (how many computers are in the domain?), but I think I have what you're looking for.
What you need to do is change a registry key in the client computers. It's located in the registry at
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation
The string name is DynamicDaylightTimeDisabled and the value for this item is
0  (Kind of weird - by entering 0, you're saying "No, I DON'T want to DISable daylight savings time).
Of course, you'll need to deploy this registry information to the clients from the server.  There are several ways to do it, but the first one I'd try is to create a registry preference item on the server and deploy it as a GPP.
This link explains how to do this:

Does my Domain user account get cached so I can Logon of the network?
    Thanks your help.

In windows or in os x? In windows if it's a windows network for domain profile is usually auto-cached. In OS X this has to be enabled in directory utility as part of your Active Directory settings, otherwise it won't allow logon off network.

  • How to relocate media cache folder?

For User with SSD "C" drives the cache file quickly fill the drive; therefore, it would be advantageous to relocate the cache storage to a Data drive.  I have yet to find a way to manage this task.

    DrTompkins
Please check out Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks and the Media Cache category in particular. In the preference you can point the Media Cache (Conformed Audio Files) to hard drive save location of your choice. Note - in preferences you will see the current location of the Media Cache Files Folder as well as the amount of free hard drive space at that location.
While you are in the preferences, check out the other categories, location and free hard drive space at that location. See specially Video Previews. At its hard drive location, you will find the preview files that are automatically generated each time you render Timeline content...for SD, dv.avi and for HD, MPEG2.mpg (same formats whether the preview is from video or still source...they can pile up significantly).
There is also Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and its Media Cache Database area. Best use the Clean button there for maintenance purposes. This relates to the Media Cache Files Folder in the location Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common and in the Common Folder is the Media Cache Files Folder that contains the conformed video files (mcdb).
This Media Cache Files Folder seems to return/regenerate anew to its default location no matter how hard you try to redirect it.
Any questions or need clarification on any of the above, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • [BUG] Media Cache Files

    Windows7 x64, SP1
Media Cache Files recreating each time when I open a project. But when I close Premier Pro- this folder was not cleared automatically. This is bug for end-user because this folder "eat" huge disk space.
Who know why and how it can be cleared? Only advanced users. And the rest will see "out of space".
You need to fix Premier Pro so Media Cache Files folder can be cleared after Premier Pro is closed.

If the cache cleared every shut-down, it wouldn't be 'cache'.
Clearing cache between projects is a fine idea. Here are some other thoughts on the subject.

  • Media Cache Folder taking up 80GB disk space

    Hi everyone,
I recently bought a Sony VAIO S with Adobe Premiere Elements 8 preinstalled, and ripped my CD collection into iTunes. I opened Premiere Elements and created a project to see what sort of features were included, but didn't import any media or capture any video.
I (even more) recently found that my disk space had dropped by roughly 80 GB, seemingly due to the Adobe Media Cache folder. It would seem that Premiere has been running some sort of background service (my suspicions are on ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe, a program that reappeared briefly after I 'cleaned' the cache folder) that has imported my AAC iTunes music collection into the Media section in Premiere, and in the process uncompressed all 7 GB of my 256KB/s AAC music into 80GB of 16bit/48KHz PCM, copied to the Adobe Media Cache Folder in C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache\Media Cache Files
    My questions are:
    - Can I delete the Media Cache Folder without causing problems with Premiere?
    - Can I prevent Premiere from adding all my media automatically (and uncompressing it in the process)? I don't mind not having all my music in the 'Media' sidebar of Premiere, I can just import the music I need.
Specs (if they help): Sony VAIO S, Intel i3 330M, GMA HD, 4GB RAM, Win 7 HP 64 bit. Premiere Elements 8.0.1. I also have PSE installed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jim.

  • Media Cache Will Not Empty

I am using Encore CS4. Under Edit>Preferences>Media, there is a button to clear the cache files. But, doing this does not clear the cache (c:\Documents and Settings\James\Application Data\Adobe\Common\Media Cache and Media Cache Files). I am the only user on the computer and am logged in as an Administrator. The only way to get to the Preferences is to have a project open. I complete a "Save" prior to clearing the cache. Matter of fact, I save the current project, close Encore, reopen it and select a project, then clear the cache. This is extremely annoying because it gobbles up all of my hard drive space on my OS drive. I find out when I attempt to defragment my drive and it is full. I have read several posts that a full cache (full hard drive) can cause problems with the program. Any help would be appreciated. I checked the KB and the FAQs. Nothing. This is a bug.
Yes, I can manually delete all of the files in the cache. But, if this one button is not working, how many others are not?

I am not certain I completely understand the problem.
Seriously - I am not being facetious.
When you say that you cannot clear the cache, this would be because the clear cache option is for removing unreferenced files. If the cache files are referenced in any saved project, then the Clear Cache item will not remove them. You would need to delete the cache to acheive this, and Encore would them simply rebuild it the very next time you launched that saved project and this would get very irritating whilst you wait for the cache to rebuild. It can be used in troubleshooting a project when a media file in the cache has somehow become corrupted, for example.
So - can you please explain exactly what the problem is? You should never see a completely deleted cache after closing Encore if there is any saved project. The biggest files here will be the conformed audio files, as Encore automatically conforms all audio files on import to 332-bit floating point. The rest are all quite small files in the main.
Might I suggest as another possible solution that you install a second HDD in your system, or a third one of you already have 2? Then you can place the cache files in a custom location, saving space on your C drive.

  • Media cache files: Premiere Elements 9 with SSD

    Hello you fine Adobe people.
I apologize if this has been asked before, if so please could somebody direct me to an answer?
I have Premiere Elements 9 on Windows 7. My issue is pretty simple: my shiny new SSD is getting full of temp files from the "C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files" location every time I work on a project.  I have set all other cache items I can see in "Preferences" to my mechanical disk, but I am alarmed to see this folder filling up with huge files on my SSD. Aside from the unneccessary reads and writes, it will be filled up in no time. It seems in Premiere Pro you can direct this folder to an external drive, but I cannot find this option in Premiere Elements.
Please tell me there is a way to move the media cache files directory to another drive than C:\ ?
    Thank you in advance
    A Craven

The answer is that you need Premiere Elements answers for Premiere Elements questions.
The conformed audio files (cfa and pek) are stored in the Media Cache Files Folder. By default, that folder is found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/10 (if 10 is your version). You set the save location for the Media Cache Files Folder in Premiere Elements Editor workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks and the "Media Cache" category.
The conformed video files (mcdb) are can be accessed via the Premiere Elements Editor workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and its Media Cache Database area. There you will find a Clean up to clear them and set limits. The actual files (which have a .mcdb file extension) can be found via the path shown in that area. This appears to be an unchangeable location.
Preview files from rendering of Timeline content to get the best possible preview at play back of the Timeline content in the Edit area monitor are stored in the Adobe Premiere Elements Previews File Folder. By default, that folder is found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit Libaries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/10 (if 10 is your version). You set that save location for the Adobe Premiere Elements Elements Previews File Folder in Premiere Elements Editor workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks and the Video Previews category.
Please let us know if you are now clear about Premiere Elements and how it relates to Media Cache et al.
Please ask if any further questions on this or need clarification.
