Automatic file path pages

How do I add a file path in a new file of Pages ?

In Pages '09:
Menu > File > Insert File Name
It sounds like you may have Pages 5 on Mac OSX 10.9 (Maverick).
Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • Pg Number, File path and date automatically printed?

    Is there a way to automatically print the page number, complete file path and date at bottom of each  page (set to landscape)?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Carlos,
    It looks like the work72a would work if we were using macs, but we're not...
    And there is NO WAY my boss will pay $999 for the other one, even if it did work.
    So, now I'm open to other suggestions. We have hundreds of clients that we do work for, and our jobs are organized in folders for each client. A lot of clients with the same name but different locations (ie., Fox Meadow OH, Fox Meadow TX), and each has a different folder. The files are named by dept and year (ie., 2012 Glass, 2012 Art). We often access old files (which, there are thousands of, because they have been organized this way for years.) We need to have the client folder on the page along with the file name (hence the file path).
    The script that Carlos created is great, but there are too many steps. Open the script, change location and select info to be displayed (3 steps), close script. There are days we access 50 jobs and the script just added 5 plus steps to each job.
    Is there a way to use a hot key run a script that will place the info when and where we need it and auto close the script? Or is there a way to display the full path (in the Illustrator tab?) where we can see which folder the file is in and we will manually type the folder? Or does anyone have another suggestion?

  • Can you insert a file path in pages document

    Is there any way of inserting a "file path" into a document in the new version of pages. You could do it in Pages 09 but I can't find any way of doing in the new
    Version. I know the inference is you are using the cloud - therefore file paths are not needed - but a lot of us still store documents in various places ( especially in the work place).

    No.
    Pages 5 has over 90 other features removed:

    Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
    Export your Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx and trash/archive Pages 5.
    Then rate/review Pages 5 in the App Store.

  • Specify the output file path and print name when printing pages

    hi,
    how can i Specify the output pdf file path and print name when i am using the function PrintPagesSilent from AcroAVDoc Object.
    My Code :-
    Acrobat.AcroAVDoc doc = new Acrobat.AcroAVDoc();doc.Open(path,
    "temp");

    Dear Irosenth,
    i try with different format (doc, docx,  xls, jpg, bmp and txt) and it working successfully, but it give an random name for the file which saved in default folder for Adobe PDF print.
    you can use the following function:
    private void PrintPDF(string[] inputfilepath){
    foreach (string path in inputfilepath){
    Acrobat.
    AcroAVDoc doc = new Acrobat.AcroAVDoc();doc.Open(path,
    "temp");
    Boolean v = doc.PrintPagesSilent(0, ((Acrobat.AcroPDDoc)(doc.GetPDDoc())).GetNumPages() - 1, 0, 0, 1);doc.Close(1);
    and calling it by the following code:
    PrintPDF(System.IO.Directory.GetFiles("c:\\t\\printjob"));
    copy all files that you want to convert in side the mentioned path and run it program, then check the defualt print path for Adobe PDF printer.
    test it and reply me. thanks again

  • Inserting file path/filename

    Hi, all out there,
    I've just strated using Pages '08, and exploring it. But Pages Help and User Guide do not tell me how to insert the file path or filename in the footer, so that it's automatically updated whenever changed. It's not in the Insert menu, and cannot find it in Insert > Function.

    Hi Peggy,
    Though that feature is useful isn't found in 10.4.10. The Devon Technologies WordService ReadMe file has the following:
    Insert:
    Contents Of Path
    Inserts files and folders of the selected path (tilde is expanded)
    and of all its subdirectories (e.g. select the path '~/' and this function
    will insert all contents of your home directory)
    Short Date Cmd-'{'
    Inserts the current date (no text selection necessary)
    Long Date Cmd-'}'
    Inserts the current date (no text selection necessary)
    Short Date & Time Cmd-'_'
    Insert the current date & time (no text selection necessary) Long Date & Time Cmd-'%'
    Insert the current date & time (no text selection necessary) Time
    Insert the current time (no text selection necessary)
    Maybe that's what you're seeing in your services menu perhaps.
    Sincerely,
    RicD

    How i do that
    Regards
    Shambhu

    The functionality that you require is not available to VBA/COM - it is only exposed via C/C++.
    However, you could retrieve the ENTIRE page image to the clipboard and then use whatever VB/VBA methods you choose to grab a section of the image.
    Of course, this all assumes that Adobe Acrobat is installed on each person's computer that will be using the solution since Reader does not have the necessary APIs and Acrobat can't be installed on a server.

  • Insert File Path into Text Field

    I am trying to create a text filed at the bottom of a form document that will automatically input the file path (e.g.. C\:Folder\File) of the document itself after the document is saved.  I've looked at a few Scripts but nothing seems to be working.  I'm assuming it will look something like this on the "postSave" option:
    this.rawValue = event.target.path.replace(event.target.documentFileName, "");
    I am a very novice programmer so I have no idea if this is even close to right.

    Apparently some of my search parameters were off.  This question has already been answered before.  If anyone comes looking here, this is a link to the page with the answer.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4007317#4007317
    Enjoy.
    FYI: here is the code I used for the text field.
    Inspection.TextPage.Bottom.End.Directions.File::preSave - (JavaScript, client)
    this.rawValue = event.target.path

  • CS3 Templates managing relative file paths in AC_FL_RunContent

    Hi,
    If I insert a Flash media resource (e.g. a .swf file) into a template, Dreamweaver CS3 inserts two sections of HTML into the template to display the resource; a <script> section and a <noscript> section. Then if I create a number of HTML files from the template which are stored in sub-folders which have different relative file paths to the resource from the template, then when DW builds the HTML files from the template, it correctly edits the relative file paths in the <noscript> section but does not correctly edit the relative file paths in the <script> section. So the resource does not display in browsers which have javascript enabled for the files which have different relative file paths from the resource.
    Is there a solution for this that I can use with my CS3 other than: (a) manually editing the code by hand outside of DW; or (b) upgrade to CS4 or CS5; or (c) have multiple copies of the resource in different locations with the correct relative file paths from the HTML files.
    I have read something about Edit > Preferences > Code Rewriting > uncheck the Active Content preferences but I do not know if that is in a different version of Dreamweaver because my CS3 version does not appear to have that.
    Thanks,
    -A Novice.

    Oh, BTW, I forgot to say, I/we cannot use site-relative file paths because this question is posted on behalf of a school where the kids are taught to use DW to create web-sites but the sites are not actually ever published to any web servers. The sites are only ever viewed by previewing the site in DW or by double-clicking on the index.html page from Windows Explorer. And because the kids are not being taught how to hand-code HTML (or how to hand-code anything come to that), editing the HTML by hand is not a solution. Really, we need a solution where DW will do it automatically and properly (without spending money on upgrading to CS4 or CS5 (if possible).
    Thanks again,

  • Print file path in then header

    Hi:
    When printing a pdf file, I want to print automatically (as ie) the file path in the header. Is it possible?
    I'm using adobe acrobat reader 9.1.1 on wxp
    Thanks

    Hey Mike,
    It may not technically be a footer, but it appears at the bottom of the page, and the page number that should be the footer is at the top.  I originally used the exaprom pdf VIs to create the datasheet.  Late last year I had some problems that appeared to be related to those VIs (or the DLL).  I don't recall what the issue was, but I got it working.  Now the program is crashing on start up and I don't know why.  I am getting an access violation exception error.  I sent the dump files to NI, but in the mean time decided to try native NI VIs to accomplish the task.  Creating the report was working fine until I switched to HTML format so that I could save it.

  • How to Print File Path and File Name at the bottom of the Report?

    Hi guys,
    I have situation where i have to display my file path where i save my file. For example: U:\Reports\Monthly_Reports\Compay_xyz.jsp
    also, after the file path line if its possible i would like to display the date where the last modification done on the file.
    I read one of the post and some one suggested that use srw.get_report_name() but since i am a new to Reporting i am not sure how to use it.
    Can anyone describe me little bit in detail please?
    Thank You.

    Hi,
    Your logic seems to be fine and you should put it in the additional plsql code section "After displaying the page". But you may have to check you syntax by compiling it. You cannot use "LINEFEED". It should be '<br>'. This is the line break in html. Please check your type declaration. Also some ';' is missing after some statements.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

  • How do I change the default save location for new files in Pages back from iCloud to my Documents folder?

    I just upgraded OSX to Mountain Lion and Pages to 4.2, and because OSX is syncing with my iCloud account, when I go to save a new file in Pages it defaults to try to save to my iCloud account rather than giving me the folder structure on my hard-drive that I prefer. It requires two extra steps to save to the proper place in my Documents folder on my hard drive.
    Is there a way to reset the default so that when I go to save a new file, the folder structure opens to the last saved folder (like it does in other non-iCloud applications) rather than defaulting to my iCloud, and to do it without just removing documents from my iCloud account entirely?
    I checked the Preferences for both Pages and iCloud and found nothing about this.

    What I meant is turn off Documents and Data in iCloud in OS X. Keep it on on your iOS devices. iCloud will sync documents between the iOS devices and make them available on the iCloud web site, but it won't mess up iWorks' open and save dialog boxes. It also won't assume that you want all your documents in iCloud, which I think is undesirable anyway.
    Keep iOS and OS X separate, and use the web site to move files between the two as necessary.
    iOS iWork is different from OS X iWork. There are fewer fonts on an iOS device. iOS iWork programs have slightly different feature sets than OS X iWork programs, and the file formats are different. iCloud automatically converts the file format when necessary, but if you make a habit of saving things directly to iCloud, you are limited to the lowest common denominator between the two versions of iWorks. So why would anyone want iWork on the Mac to open and save documents on iCloud by default?
    If you want to store files in the cloud and sync them on your Macs, SugarSync is a much better solution. It lets you choose your sync folders, it doesn't make you reorganize your files, it lets you sync all file types, it doesn't convert files to a different format and back, and it stores everything in the cloud, too. Just the simle act of saving a file backs it up and syncs it. I wouldn't live without it. iCloud is best with iTunes purchases and synchronizing Mac settings and iOS files; I woudln't live without it. The two make an unbeatable combination.

  • How to open-up a pdf file to a particular page via java? (file and page number from another program)

    I have created an Access 2003 Form. Data is entered. The data can be viewed once entered in the same form format, with one addition. The addition is a link to another program where we store files. The files stored are pdf documents. Each document is a scanned file (500+ pages). The link can open-up the pdf file. I want the link to open-up the pdf file to a particular page. I will supply the page number from the database.
    I am aware of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 PDF Open Parameters using a URL that specifies the file to be opened plus actions to be performed once the file is openend (i.e. http://example.org/doc.pdf#page=3). However, the 3rd party program transfers a file from a server to the client via java. The file does not go via a web browser. The java code transfer the file directly from the file server to the the client.
    Any idea how to accomplish the task of viewing a particular page with the process flow described?
    I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.

    So you are reading this file in a standalone version of Acrobat? If so then use the PDF Open Parameters /a option via the command line.
    Sabian
    Example:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat>Acrobat.exe /A "zoom=1000=OpenActions" "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\SimpleSubmit.pdf"
    Where:
    Path to Acrobat: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat>Acrobat.exe
    Note: The example starts in the Acrobat application directory
    Switch: /A
    Parameter Syntax: "zoom=1000=OpenActions"
    Path to file: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\SimpleSubmit.pdf"
    Note: The quotes are very important for the syntax to work appropriately.

  • Error while saving the file path

    I have come across a problem in LSMW.
    In specify files step when I was trying to give the filename either in Presentation server or Application server and then save ,I am getting an error called 'No Logical Path has been specified'. In debugging I can see p_log_path and p_log_file are initial where as p_phys_file_compl has the file which is created automatically with standard naming convention. These 3 fields represents Converted Data files. I think the problem is with settings since the error is not happening to other users. If we double click 'Converted Data'  I can see Logical Path and Logical File fields. If I give the same file that is used for converted data it is asking me to create and if we agree then it creates and then we are able to save. So I think there is some setting changes or some other thing happened which at this stage I couldn't find out because I have not changed any settings. So can you please let me know if u have come across the same problem or if u know the solution.

    In the <b>specify files path</b> have u specified the paths correctly.

  • SSIS - Loop through files from a file path based on the value in the variable

    Experts,
    I have a requirement where I'll be loading multiple files in to a SQL server table and archive the files when loaded. However, the challenge is , the file path should be dynamic based on the value of a variable (say, @ProductName).
    For example: If I am running the package for variable @ProductName="Product", the file path would be "\\....\Src\Product", in that case the ForEachLoop will loop through all the files in that folder, load them to the table and Archive
    the files to the "\\....\Src\Product\Archive" folder.
    Similarly, if the @ProductName="Product_NCP", the foreachloop container should loop through files in the "\\....\Src\Product_NCP" folder, load them to the table and archive them to the ""\\....\Src\Product_NCP\Archive"
    folder.
    Any suggestions? I should be able to run the package manually just by passing the "@Product" value, create Archive folder if it doesn't exist, load the data and archive the files.

    Yes
    1. Have a variable inside SSIS to get folder path. Set path based on your rule using an expression
    like
    (@[User::ProductName] == "Product" ? "\\....\Src\Product" : (@[User::ProductName] == "Product_NCP" ? \\....\Src\Product_NCP:..))
    similary archive
    (@[User::ProductName] == "Product" ? "\\....\Src\Product\Archive" : (@[User::ProductName] == "Product_NCP" ? "\\....\Src\Product_NCP\Archive" :..))

  • Issue with Getting the file path from InputFile component

    Hi,
    One of our requirement is like below:
    I am working on ADF 11g (latest release R1) page. User will select the file and when he/she clicks on the Save button we need to store the file path in the database.
    In the database file_path is varchar2(300). We need to store just the file path. I am using InputFile component but filepath is not getting inserted.
    This is really urgent. It would be really appreciate if anyone can guide me on this.
    Thanks
    MC

    Hi Mahesh,
    I have manage to store the file path from the InputFile component in Jdev 11g. I found the file upload script from this forum and manage to alter it so that i could save the file path to the database. But my problem is to retrieve it back to view as a document. Hope this will help you :)
    This is an example of what I have manage to save to my DB :
    (CLOB) //192.168.238.53/c$/Research/Docs/0906160744/EyeCandyLog.txt
    In my form, I save the file path first before I update the other fields. My code is something like this :
    public void uploadFile(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    // Add event code here...
    InputStream in;
    FileOutputStream out;
    if(tanda == 0){
    try {
    // final Context context = getInitialContext();
    RS01Proposal rS01Proposal = (RS01Proposal)new InitialContext().lookup("Phase2-RS01Proposal#sr.model.RS01Proposal");
    id = rS01Proposal.dptProposalid();
    tanda = tanda + 1;
    System.out.println("tanda"+ tanda);
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println("id"+id);
    proposal = id.substring(6);
    System.out.println("proposal"+proposal);
    UploadedFile file = (UploadedFile)valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
    String fileUploadLoc = "//192.168.238.53/c$/Research/Docs/"+id+"/";//The place where file will saved
    //create upload directory
