Label printing by GLM: Determination of countries in delivery scenario

Hi all,
In GLM transaction CBGL_MP01, for delivery scenario, I have a question regarding the way to get back the countries according to the delivery number.
Actually in my system, once I filled my delivery number, the system retrieves the country of :
   - my shipping point
   - the route
   - the ship to party
I would like to have only the country of my shipping point and country of my ship to party. I don't need to have the country of my route.
How can I do that in the system? Is there a standard solution? (function modul,...) or do I need to create a specific solution?

Hello Ludo,
the GLM standard is working like you described it in your thread. There is an user exit and a BAdI where you can overwrite the data that will be read from your delivery note.
The data determination of the delivery scenario is implemented as an user exit.
(Transaction SPRO -> EH&S -> Product Safety -> GLM - > Specify Labeling Scenarios.
Mark the scenario "Delivery" and hit the detail button. The parameter "FM for Data Determ." contains the user exit. There is a default implementation of this user exit from SAP "CBGL_LB71_DELIVERY_MATDATA_GET".
Within that default implemenation is a BAdI "EHS_GLM_BADI_003". I would suggest to implement this BAdI and adapt the values of the parameter X_COUNTRY_TAB.

Automatic Goods Reciept label printing issue

HI All,
we are facing some issues while printing goods receipt label. Please check below steps which we already performed.
1. Basis team has already set up new printer Q534 in SPAD transaction.
2. Then we maintain printer determination parameter with combination of output type/plant 5055 /storage location 0001/usergroup/ device
3. We maintaned condition record through MN14 for th plant 5055.
so when we post goods receipt then it should go for Automatic label printing. In SP01 we are not able to see any request.
Kindly suggesst if any config is missing.
Also suggest in condition record, do we need to maintain anything under the COMMUNICATION tab.

Hi Guys,
Today I created one PO in test system and GR posted then I checked Spool request SP01 but due to this GR posted, it showing the spool request only for GR slip but not for label print.
GR slip print showing correctly because in OMJ3 tcode WA condition type maintained for the plant 5055 and Sloc 0001against the printer Q532
Now I maintained label print condition type ZLBL in Tcode OMJ3 for the plant 5055 and Sloc 0001 against the printer Q534 but after GR posting, the lable print spool request did not generate.
In sp01 we can see only GR slip print request for the printer Q532 not for label print
Kindly suggesst how can we determine the printer (spool request generate) for the label print for the printer Q534

High volume Printing for GLM?

I understand from various sources GLM can support high volume label output provided the correct enhancements and support packs are installed and configured. This may include updates to WWI. We are currently running ECC6 EHP5, SAP_BASIS 10, EHSM 3, WWI 2.7
I would like to get this communities inputs. Our requirement is to generate >2000 identical labels via GLM. WWI processing today is long (5+min) and the output is large. Ideally system would generate 1 label with indication to print 2000 times. Our labels include barcodes and symbols and can be complex.

The functions of GLM is well explained as Christopher said and using GLM, you can print labels more than 10000 witha sequential data output. To support such large quanitity of data to be printed on labels, you may need a special printers like the Zebra High volume printer. The WWI server is equipped to print large volume of labels using specific printer plugins.
High volume printers can be used to print print requests with print files that are too large or that contain more than 32,768 labels to be printed. The HVP is designed as a printer driver for Microsoft Windows and is connected to the label printer via a plug-in.
With the HVP, only one page with all static data is sent to the printer. The HVP then receives all of the sequential data via an interface and automatically supplements the sequential data in the printout. The HVP also integrates changing bar codes or texts in the printout.
The Zebra 170Xi4 is one of most popular, industrial-strength printers on the market. This rugged metal unit prints 1-color labels up to 6.6" wide, with 300 dpi print resolution in thermal or thermal transfer mode. You can connect the printer to a computer and install software on your iPad/computer to print from your ipad to the comptuer then to the printer.

Automatically create & print snapshots

Good morning.
I do a large amount of shipping and the labels are printed using a PDF document with 2 labels per page. Right now I have to manually take a snapshot of each label and then print to my Zebra label printer. Is there a way to automate the snapshot/print process? Perhaps some sort of macro program or ability within Adobe Reader?

Not in the sense of something that you can record, like in Word, but it contains an internal scripting mechanism that allows you to automate many tasks.
In fact, I've developed a script that does something quite similar to what you've described. I'll send you some more info about it via PM.

Label printers - label printing

Hello all,
I have a scenario where i have to print shipping label, when i carry out outbound delivery processing.
we are in the process of setting up new label(zebra) printers, and would like to know whether i have to mention the label printer name in the print control function in the configuration.
if the basis team sets up the label printer in SAP, will the label print automatically in the zebra printer based on the print code or should i mention the label printer name in the print control function under configuration.

Max,
Usually for LOCL printing if it is only one shipping point or per delivery type then you can setup a condition record in NACE tcode.
Also the access sequence needs to be setup before the condition records
If you have multiple shipping points and different printers setup by the basis team then you would have to setup the output in VP01SHP or LE>Shipping>Basic Shipping Functions>Output Control>Define Print Paramets shipping.

WM Custom Label Printing??

Hi,
We got a req as follows:
We created a new IM mvt type [copy of 311] which is mapped to a new WM mvt type 911. Whenver we do MB1B, T.O is created automatically.
Once the T.O is created I need to print a "custom label" for this?? How to do that.
Also, If the T.O has 2 line items
Line Item 1: MatXXXX 10EA
Line Item 2: MatYYYY 10EA
Then it need to print 20 custom labels.
Please advice.

I had already had a look into Note#771683 which doesn't full fill my requirement.
My actuall requirement is to do label printing through a wireless printer when the user clicks on print from the ITSMobile.
I have an idea of creating an output device with Access method as S(Print using SAP Protocol) and maintian destination host as ip address of the system(with SAPLpd running) in which my wireless printer is connected .When i click on print from ITSMobile a spool will be created with the particular output device , which further goes to the wireless printing.
Do you have any other solution.Kindly suggest.

I used to be able to print multiple copies of the same picture on one page using iphoto. There was a customise button when you went through to print and it was there somewhere. I can't see it anymore - maybe since an upgrade.
It's gone. But as a work-around, duplicate your photo (⌘D) to create as many versions as you want copies and select all at once. Then use the "Custom" print layout and set the photo size you want.
After printing, trash the added versions.

1. The smartform name is SD_PACK_ETIK.
2.Just copy the standard program into Zprogram and make chanes and assign in NACE with the form.
3.But,in smartform lable printing is not possible.
4.you can print barcodes.

Primera LX 400 Label Printer No Longer Working with Mountain Lion

Hi-
I upgraded my OS to Mountain Lion and most everything works OK except my Primera LX400 label printer. The error message I get when trying to install the driver is "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."
I contacted Primera but I haven't received an answer yet. Anyone else solve this problem with Mountain Lion and Primera Printers?
For those that depend on the Primera printers, you might want to wait before upgrading.

I decided to check a day early (7/30/12) and the driver for my LX400 is up and I was able to install and use it successfully.

Label Printing issues on Crystal Reports Server

I built a label that prints off beautifully on my local machine with Crystal XI installed. However, when I post the label to the reports server, and a user tries to print it off, it prints off two blank labels behind each good label. I have racked my brain on this for days. The printer settings are identical to my local machine. Any idea what might be causing this?

Symptom
A label report was viewed over the web using the Web Component Server, and printed on a label maker printer DYMO 330. The labels were being resized to 8 1/2 x 11 instead of printing the size of the label. Even after selecting the correct size, the labels print one per page, followed by 3 blank labels.
When printing was done through a distributed report or the report designer, the labels printed to the correct size and only printed one label with no blank labels.
What is causing the label report to print incorrectly when printed from the web viewer?
Resolution
Steps to Resolve
1. Open the report in the Crystal Reports 8 designer on the web server.
2. Click on 'File' then click 'Printer Setup'. If a printer is already selected then set it to 'No Printer', click 'OK', then save the report.
3. Click on 'File' then click 'Printer Setup' again. Select the default printer and clear the 'Default Properties' checkbox.
4. Click 'OK' and save the report.
5. Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Services and double click 'Seagate Page Server' service. Set this service to run under an 'Administrator' account.
6. Stop and restart the service, and close down all browsers.
The label reports now will print successfully over the web.
Background
Incorrect printing from a web viewer can have several causes, including:
· The report is designed with a designated printer, but the encapsulated page format (EPF) files are being created in 'No Printer' mode.
· The server does not have access to the printer.
· A valid printer is not saved with the report on the server.
· The printer driver is not installed on the server.

Automatic Duplex Printing not working on HP Color LaserJet 3600DN in Windows 7. It worked before.

I have an HP color laserjet 3600 DN on Windows 7. This computer came w/ Windows Vista and a 3600DN driver was installed and the computer was upgraded to Windows 7. The printer did automatic duplex printing.
At one point, my computer indicated that it could no longer find the printer. In an effort to solve this problem, I uninstalled the printer. When I tried to reinstall the printer the computer could not find the driver. At that point I tried to download a windows 7 CLJ 3600 DN driver. Since HP doesn't provide this driver for Windows 7, I tried to download the Windows Vista driver for 3600DN.
However, when I go to the appropriate webpage by following the links, only drivers for Color Laserjet 3600 are listed (no 3600DN drivers).
As far we can tell it only allows Manual Duplex printing (no automatic duplex printing). Clicking the "Two Sided Duplex Printing" option is there but only works when the "print on both sides (Manual)" is set on the Finishing page. If manual is turned off, then it becomes single sided.
Can I get a driver that will allow me to do automatic duplex printing on on my HP CLJ 3600 DN using Windows 7?

Help with Zebra Label Printer and Multi Order Shipping Tool- Partial Label Printing

I have a zebra gx420d which is compatible the zebra 2844 (its the new model) and I am having a hard time printing labels with the multi order shipping tool. I have the correct driver, the printer test page works fine, and everything is configured for a 4x6 label.
I have set the selling preferences in paypal to match the zebra 2844 printer and within the mult order tool, I have edited the settings to also match zebra 2844.
My problem is that regardless of what or how I do it, my printer will only print a 1/4 of the label. It is not shrinking the label, it is starting to print at the correct size but stops 1/4 of the way through. Almost like it thinks my label size is too small but as i mentioned, I confirmed 4x6 on the label settings at both printer properties and printer preferences. I spent and hour on tech support with zebra and they confirmed the printer is working as it is supposed to. I also know this because my Amazon labels print correctly as well. Its only paypal and ebay labels that are not working. Very frustrating. Can anyone help?

did you upload the desgin in a standard text with option ITF? This you can copy then to the layoutset. At least this is the way of working with BARONE.

Cannot Print to CUPS Printer, UPS Label Printer

After upgrading to Mavericks, I can no longer print to my UPS Label Printer which utilizes the CUPS drivers. I have tried deleting the printer and reinstalling it. No luck. All other printers are working fine. Any ideas?

This is all about the driver!
Canon doesn't provide drivers that will work for a Windows-shared printer. You have to use a CUPS driver for that.
Your model isn't directly supported by Gutenprint (CUPS drivers included by Apple in OS X), but the newer Gutenprint has iP4500 and several models "close" to yours:
