"Automatic" Photo Gallery
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to make an "automatic" photo gallery: when you upload the photo in the source folder, it automatically gets uploaded in the gallery. Is there a chance to make this?
I have this file that calls Word files, and as I update the source file (Word) the data gets updated on the web. So how can I build a simple gallery that would work roughly this way with the photos (As I said above: I upload the photos, and they get arranged in the web)?

OT? How to make an "automatic" photo gallery site?
This is a loosely defined question as I'm not sure of all the implications and parameters and have no sample to offer.
My photog client - who doesn't know DW or html - wants a gallery site with a templated page layout so that he only has to upload some (properly named) jpgs into a folder and new pages with thumbnails are created automatically with links in place. I'm not knowledgible enough about html /dynamic html to make recommendations, but I got something similar done with, if I remember correctly, an ASP developer long ago. Can this be done with dreamweaver alone? Suggestions? Samples?Many photographers like JAlbum Web Photo Album maker. It creates thumbnails, watermarks images, generates the code and scripts for Flash galleries, Lightbox galleries, GPS info, etc.. on the fly. Drag and drop images into folders. Press a button and voila all done. All he would need to do is upload his finished JAlbum Folder to remote server. Simple enough if he can use an FTP client. Or you could build a password protected upload page for him to use.

Spry_P1_6_10-01 Photo Gallery questions
I am attempting to use the Photo Gallery from the newest
download of the Spry Framework and I have 2 issues.
First, I build the images and thumbs galleries using
Photoshop CS3 and the automate photo gallery option to build the
library. All of the XML and Image Data is identical to the existing
Structure / folders (named China, Egypt, and Paris). I replace the
files and modify the info in the galleries XML but the result is an
empty gallery. Is there a structure I am missing?
Second, I am building the galleriy in a DIV. The demo works
fine all by itself but when I place the code into a DIV I get an
unexpected result in the thumbnail viewer. as the images expand
they push all the other thumbs around and shuffel about.

I also want to mention I tried using the Addon for Bridge

Automate web photo gallery in PS Elements 7
New user here. I bought Photoshop Elements 7 specifically for the web photo gallery, which works fine in Elements 6 (but I don't own a copy of 6).
My installation of Elements 7 has the Automation tools option in the File menu greyed out. It looks like this option is now a plug-in? If so, where can I get this? Was this option excluded from Elements 7?

In Photoshop CS3, the Automate option in the File menu is active even with no images open. I assumed this is the same in Elements 7, and am told that Elements 6 is the same.
Using Windows XP.
Steps :
1. Open Elements to splash screen, select Edit (This is the only option in the splash screen for which the Automate Tools is listed in the following screen)
2. When the Edit screen loaded, opened File menu, and Automation Tools is listed but is greyed out.
Tried opening images -> no change
No album is (created or) selected. -
"automate web photo gallery" missing in Photoshop CS4
Just thought I upgraded from my CS2 photoshop and realize I can't automate the very practical web photo galleries anymore? I tried to transfer the added plugin from the additional "goodies" file into the photoshop automate plugins BUT a message pops up saying: "There is NO template folder to run Web Photo Gallery"
Can anyone help??

Additionally, make sure you have updated to Photoshop 11.0.1 and applie the update to AOM, the Adobe Output Module. -
Photo gallery slide show - automatic start
I have created a web photo gallery in Adobe Bridge and successfully
opened it in my Dreamweaver site, but I want to the slide show to start automatically because it is on my
first page and I don't want people to have to click on the play button. Can someone tell me if this can be done and if so, how?

([email protected]). The files here pasted are incorrect, look to
the SetSlideShowTimer() or the StartSlideShow() functions above
that are incomplete. Not mentioning that the CSS are really make
the difference.
It will take me more time to try to reconstruct your
structure, not having all the files you reference and probably not
being able to duplicate your problem because the deployment
failure.

Where is the Automate Web Photo Gallery in CS4. It makes the web html that when you click on the thumbnail is shows the larger picture.

CS2 Automate Web Photo Gallery causing photoshop to crash
All attempts to use this function end in Photoshop crashing.

Crash when you run Web Photo Gallery on Mac OS X v10.5 (Photoshop CS2, Photoshop Elements 4)
ISSUE
When you attempt to run Web Photo Gallery in Adobe Photoshop CS2 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 on Mac OS X v10.5.x (Leopard), the application crashes.
REASON
The Web Photo Gallery plug-in that shipped with Photoshop CS2 and Photoshop Elements 4 is not compatible with Mac OS X v10.5.x.
SOLUTION
Replace the Web Photo Gallery plug-in with the new version.
Quit Photoshop CS2 and Photoshop Elements 4.
Download the new version of the Web Photo Gallery plug-in from the following link:
WebContactSheetIIplugin.zip
If your web browser did not automatically extract the plug-in (WebContactSheetII.plugin) from the downloaded .zip file, double-click the .zip file to extract the plug-in.
In the Finder, navigate to the Automate folder:
For Photoshop CS2, navigate to /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS2/Plug-Ins/Adobe Photoshop Only/Automate.
For Photoshop Elements 4, navigate to /Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0/Plug-Ins/Automate.
Remove the WebContactSheetII plug-in from the Automate folder. You might want to save this plug-in in case you need to revert back to it.
Drag the new WebContactSheetII plug-in that you extracted into the Automate folder.
Re-open Photoshop CS2 or Photoshop Elements and run Web Photo Gallery.
Note: If you are using Photoshop Elements 4, then do not choose File > Create Web Photo Gallery to use this feature after you update the plug-in. Instead, choose File > Automation Tools > Web Photo Gallery. -
Is the Automate/Web Photo Gallery function gone from CS5?
I am currently operating a trial download of Photoshop CS5. I was surprised to see the "File > Automate > Web Photo Gallery" function missing from Photoshop CS5. Is that true, or has it been moved to another location?

At our studio we use the Web Gallery with Feedback option for our clients to review images, make selections and comments.
I hope we don't lose access to this with an upgrade to CS5.
It seems to me that having that capability within Photoshop makes sense, but if it is being ported to Bridge I hope, at least, that it will be well supported (which it wasn't while in PS).
As a tool to support a user's web design, Flash has several drawbacks not the least of which is that it is opaque to search engine indexing bots.
One thing I would hope Adobe could fix in the Gallery with Feedback option is a problem in which if a client of ours is using the gallery to give feedback, even though they click "Save Feedback" on every image, if they close the gallery window, all comments and selections are lost. We had a client who was reviewing 400 images. She had gotten through close to 300 of them, saving feedback all along, when she decided to come back to the project a little later. Closing the browser window lost all of her comments and selections. Tools like this are important to our business relations with our clients and I would hope they would be integrated into Adobe's imaging products, but they shouldn't be an afterthought – they need to be well designed, user customizable, and up to date with web standards.

Automatic image compression for photo gallery web apps?
Is it possible to scale and compress images to a maximum size when uploading to a web app? This is for a photo gallery that allows public submissions, and we are anticipating that we will get lots of photos that are very large. This is a task that would be best handled by a server-side image processing lib, but is there another way since we don't have that on BC?
Thanks!I understand that you are probably concerned with data storage limits when asking this question. But, you can create thumbnails when displaying images within the photo gallery. This will allow a very large image to display very quickly within the gallery.

Ok, so I have my page layout almost completed in DW. Id like
to add a photo gallery to my page, but not the kind DW
automatically creates. Id like the gallery to stay within my page
layout, and have a few rows of thumbnails, and when a thumbnail is
clicked on, the larger image appears within my page layout, not a
blank new window. Is this possible in DW?
Im very much new to DW and FW, so any help is appreciated.
Maybe I need another application to create the photo gallery
and then insert into my page design?

CS3 Web Photo Gallery index.htm renaming
I'm not sure if there is a way to change this but if any one know please let me know. I working to modify one of the templates for the Web Photo Gallery, and am wondering if there is a way to designate in the template what to name the index page besides index.htm or index.html.
I'm working to create a site that will have many photo galleries. And while it does work to have each gallery in its own sub directory with the main gallery page named index.htm. I would prefer to have the main gallery page renamed during the automation process for easier archiving.
Let me know if anyone know if this is possible.>Anyway, renaming the files should not pose a problem, if you do full links. I just wouldn't do it for web galleries created automatically from PS.
There are could be hundreds of subpages in a gallery and I'm trying to avoid going back and redoing the link to each of the main pages. Every subpage points to the main page or the index page that PS creates. I can go and manually rename the index page but then the home button that is generated during the automation on each of the sub pages needs to be changed as well. I'm trying to avoid this.
Let me explain what I'm trying to accomplish. In the root of the domain I plan on having my index page (with a brief description about the company). Then I plain to have a few other pages including a gallery page. This is going to be the main page for all my galleries. Images will be places here that will link to the main page of each of the galleries that are created. Also on the root there will be a folder named "XYZ". This is were all the galleries will be placed under there own sub folders. -
As a Professional Photographer, I chose to buy an IPad 4 for only one reason and that was the amazing color and clarity of the Photo Gallery as a mobile Portfolio.
Originally the background color of the IPad 4 Gallery was BLACK and this facilitated the photos greatly, photos look better and stand out better on a BLACK background. White backgrounds cause a glare eminating from the edges of the photo and cause iris in our eyes to close down, degrading the quality of the photo being viewed.
I updated to ios 7 and now my IPad 4 has a WHITE background, which is unacceptable for viewing photos.
HOW DO I CHANGE the WHITE background on the Photo/Gallery/COLLECTIONS to BLACK?

Trying to create a photo gallery... with little knowledge of Flex

I am trying build a photo gallery and I am having the hardest time.
Is there anything out there that helps people from scratch ?

</mx:Application>I'd recommend linking your flex app to a PHP file, it'll automatically handle all the photos for you without you having to embed them all. Keeps the app size small and lets you add more pictures without having to alter any code. Here's the example code of a very simply image gallery that i'd build on if i was making a photogallery.

How to create a dynamic button to download a photo gallery in Adobe Muse?
I need to create a gallery in Muse, so far so good, but when each photo was displayed automatically would have to see a download option that picture, ie, individual download each photo gallery. Is how to do this? Is there a script for Adobe Muse or widgets?

As I already said, this is really a helpful tutorial to me.
I have one question though. Is it possible to make a dropdown menu that gets triggerd by pushing only the menu button itself and not the whole header? It doesn't seem possible to me, as the accordion panel has to be the same size as the menu. I can't think of any solution but to align a small menu to the side of the screen, which would not be my first choice to do.
Any workaround suggestions are welcome!
