Automatic PO from PR [free text base procurement ]

Hi SAP gurus ,
I have following question ,
I am not using material master , it is a free text base procurement .
even there are no contracts in place .
Purchasing is only PR - PO w.r.t. & without respect to PR - GR - IV . etc.
How can I create a Automatic PO w.r.t. PR ?
Can anybody please advice?

Hello,
1. Check auto PO tick in Vendor Master record.
2. Create Info record for material group which you are going to use in PR. This is important for net price, purchasing group and tax code which will be mandatory in PO.
3. Assign Source of supply as this info record in PR.
4. Create auto PO in ME59N t- code.

We have all our PRs in free text since we are not yet using material master. One of our purchase organization will only order from one vendor and they will enter that vendor and price in the PR. Is it possible to create a PO automatically from that PR without a material or source list?

1) Create PR with item category D Service
2) Activate automatic PO creation in ML91
That will create POs for all PRs created as a service?

Free text capital procurement

Hi,
We are using SRM 7 ECS. We are procuring material for direct procurement also from SRM. The way to do this is to enter a material in SC and tick mark the u201Corder as direct materialu201D, so that it becomes as direct procurement.
1st Question is that can we procure free text for direct procurement, i.e we want the user to procure free text and order as direct material. Is this possible?
We have also made a custom tick-mark field in the SC screen header. If user checks this header field, then the u201Corder as direct materialu201D check-mark field in all the line items gets ticked. In other words this header field merely ticks mark the u201Corder as direct materialu201D field in SC line item.
Now if user procures free text , and ticks this custom field at header , u201Corder as direct materialu201D field gets ticked mark at line item level. When this goes to completion buyer, the free text field is greyed out, and the buyer is unable to replace the free text with material. Are we doing something wrong here? If everything is correct in the above process, can we make the free text field editable by the completion buyer?

Hi Sumendra,
Just enabling the check box for 'Order as a direct material' wont suffice.
If you think logically, free text items are usually non stock items (procured against cost centers for example). Whereas direct materials are procured for stock consumption.
Hence you can use 'Order as a direct material' for only those materials which you have replicated into SRM from ECC.

MS word templates free text referenced gets cut

Hello Experts,
CRM 5.0
We have a scenario where we have implemented a custom BADI to add attributes in the list of fields that can be pulled into MS word templates from an order object in CRM. Some of the free text areas are also being referenced in the MS word templates. However only the first 128 characters from the free text area get pulled into the MS word template. The BADI does not seem to put this limit as in debugging, we can see all the text being referenced but on the front end only 128 characters flow through. Can someone please suggest a solution around this?

It is a character encoding issue. This is a big topic, but
there is
plenty written up about it. You probably want to configure
your
application use use window-1252 or unicode encoding format.
You will
want to make sure the entire system running the application
is talking
the same encoding, database web server and ColdFusion.

Free Text Shopping cart WorkFlow

I have to know if a shopping cart was created from a Free text item or from catalog before the WF starts (in a check funtion module).
Is there any way to know if the shopping cart was created from free text or catalog?

Hi,
As per my understanding, you want to make decision, if it is Free text you need to start one work flow, else another workflow.
This check you can do it in Starting conditions of the workflow. SWB_COND (Transaction).
Go to SWB_COND, choose business object BUS2121, it will display all work flows which are event linkage activated.
Now go to specific workflow which you need to start if it is Free text Shopping cart, if the condition is true workflow will start.
If starting conditions are complex, suggest you to create new attribute and use the same in starting conditions.

How to query free text and how to efficiently process upper/lower case

I'm now have two questions need your helps.
1, i want to query free text base on oracle semantic, i tried create a Full Text Index on object like ‘CREATE INDEX di_obj_idx ON data_integration(to_char(triple.GET_OBJECT())) indextype is ctxsys.context’, but i got an error 'DRG-11304:function-based indexes are not supported by this indextype’. it seems that can't specified a column with functions. so any way for this?
2, base on some reasons, we need to query something ignores upper/lower. of course, we can use upper/lower functions, but the performance is very low. what my question is is there any functions can be used in SEM_MATCH table function or any way can give me the higher performance?

I checked it out u cant go for STO incase of item category T, as it wont create any shippind data without material.
So if u r getting any service material and u want account to happen then u can go for service PO's
U can create vendor master for the plant and go for service PO's.

I have an iPhone 4S and my friend has two ipods with two Apple ID's. Why can't he receive messages on "Message" on one and he uses a free text app on the other which receives messages from my phone just fine.

My friend has two ipods. Two Apple ID's and on one ipod he has a free text app on it and only Message on the other. He cannot receive a message from my iphone 4S on the one with Message, but receives it fine on the one with the free text app.
He can also receive a message from my iPad on the one with Message.
My question is how can he recieve a text from my iPhone to the ipod which has a different Apple ID than the other but does not have a free text app?
Also on the ipod he has the free text app he has not upgraded to ios7 and won't.

Are the use the correct email address for the contact? Those are listed in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive. When Messaging somene the iOS devices used the email address (or phone number if applicable) listed in the Contact app for that person.
Thus, it appears the you Contact apps only has that one email address listed for the person you are trying to Message.
If he can send you a Messages can you reply to it? If so save the sender to your Contact app.

Service procurement for the free texts ( Multiple line items in PO)

In the service procurement for the free texts ( Multiple line items in PO)referring to the same Contract we are cretaing the POs
thro ME59 ( Program RM06BB20) an unusual error message appears as under:
"_Material/Service group STGOP2 does not exist"_This Material group is unavailable in T023 as well.
We checked the same issue by recreating with the exact data in the Test environment and everything works OK
We are working on the R3 version 470...
Any body faced such an issue ?
Any clues pls?

We have faced another issue of the same nature while a PO is being created using the tcode ME21N for service free text items referring a PR ( Service item has no Contract assigned but a fixed vendor)
The error relates to SE419 ( Mat grp 'XXXX' does not exist)
Any takers..
We are using a custom doc type for the PR

Populate drop-downs from free text fields.

Hi all,
I have a problem which I can't quite get my head around.
Currently I have a flowed form, and among others, a free text field named 'sectors'. Attached to this field are some + and - buttons which use instance manager to add or remove more 'sectors' rows.
Once all the sectors have been added, I would like users to then be able to be able to select from drop-down lists elsewhere in the form that are populated from the 'sectors' items.
Im thinking that I need to add another button to the 'sectors' row, which might add the item to the required drop-down, but im not really sure how to do this as my JS really isn't that great!
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I would say that the this.rawValue=null; is necessary.
If in my example you comment out the null line. Then select the Fruit checkbox and Apple from the dropdown:
Now if the user goes back and deselects Fruit and instead selects Cars, when they open the dropdown the script clears the Fruit options and adds the Car options (everything okay there). However the value of the dropdown is still fruit_001, even though this is not an option in the list. If the user exists the dropdown without making a new selection, you could have a value displayed that does not relate to the correct choices:
So I would say that the this.rawValue=null; is not redundant at all.
In the null pattern for a dropdown: http://assure.ly/gcXx03, I actually null and clear the Relationship dropdown as soon as the user makes a selection in the Gender dropdown.
Maybe have a look and test before you go back on your existing forms.

Cannot copy text from DRM-free PDF on PC

I can on my Mac. Both use Adobe Reader v11.x. I think the behaviour started when I updated to version 11 on the PC.
I cannot copy text from DRM-free PDFs that I read. I can switch to the Select Tool cursor but drag-select does not work as it did before. Double-click can highlight (and copy) a word. A triple-click can do so for a line. This is clumsy and inefficient and I cannot grab more than a line of text.
File > Properties: Security shows 'No Security'. I am stumped. Is there some detail I am missing? (I downloaded and switched to FoxIt Reader to take notes now but prefer my knowledge of navigation shortcuts in Adobe Reader.)

How are you "re-printing" the PDF? Once you have a PDF file, it shouldn't be necessary to re-create it just because you've made changes. You could simply save the file at that point. But it sounds like you're concerned about preventing changes to the comments. If that's the case, rather than reprinting, you could assign some document permissions to the PDF to prevent people from changing the content. To assign that security, choose File > Properties and click the Security tab.
I'm guessing here, because I'm not sure what process you're using, but it sounds as though that second iteration is being printed as an image. That would change the searchable text to an image, and could certainly cause the issue you're encountering.

You can implement BBP_SC_MODIFY_UI BADI where you can set whether "Describe Requirement" link should be visible or not. Here you could check if user has a particular role and set the value.

LabVIEW 13.0f2 crashes when cutting text from certain free labels on the block diagram

While revising the documentation of a VI, I faced a LabVIEW crash. I can reproduce it in LabVIEW 13.0f2 with the following code. Can anyone confirm that cutting the content "def" from the free label and trying to paste it in the free label with "ghi" produces error 0xBC0BF185?
I cannot reproduce this issue by any other cut/paste between the free labels on the left-hand part of the BD. The crash solely occurs when cutting "def" and trying to paste to "ghi".

I'm not reproducing it from the snipette. LabVIEW 2013.0f2x32 on Win7 enterprise. Heap Peek your copy, there is something insane with your label.

Intercompany Exchange of NLAG materials or free text items

Hi,
in my company we have set up the intercompany procurement process according to the SAP standard. Means when one company places a PO with another group company (different comp code) a delivery is created against this PO. Now the companies want to start procuring either NLAG materials or free text items which leads to an error message ME124 "Material not subj. to inventory mgmt. in plant" for NLAG or error 06806 "Procurement w/o material from vendor with plant assignment not defined".
Any ideas how to overcome this?

Please do the above necessary customization
Go into IMG > Logistics general > material master > Basic Settings > material type > Define Attributes of Material Types
Select your material type and click Quantity/Value update.
