Automatic printing of a 'test' sheet

Every time I turn on the ptr (the c3100 all-in-one) it insists on printing a test page. How can I stop this? Ink cartridges are expensive!
The ptr is connected to a Compaq laptop by a USB cable; the OS is Vista.

Hi Leslie
The print function in workstation applications won't automatically print the documents attached to an equipment. This function is designed to allow you to print using the print button in a SAP DIR or from CV04N, not for automated printing when a work order is released. This would require either an ABAP enhancement or a product like Seal.
The problem with linking a document to an equipment and printing it is that the equipment could have any documents linked including photos and numerous procedures or work instructions designed for different tasks. Unless all documents are relevant for all tasks, you could easily find yourself in a position where you end up printing 5 documents you don't need every time you release an order. This is the reason that the best technical solution is rather to link the document as a product resource tool to a maintenance order or task list. This indicates in SAP that the document is a tool required for that specific maintenance order or task and you can select different documents for different tasks and the order in which the documents should be used because without this the results could have serious safety impacts. I.e. ensure that the person follows the tag out procedure before trying to do another task on the equipment.

I am using a Mac but I have no idea which OS - it is an old one thoughUsed to print wirelessly without any problems but changed router and now constantly offlineIt will print a test sheet wirelessly but when I then ask for it to print a document it says it is offlineIt is connected to network I have tried putting in IP address manually for printerSpent hours trying to fix the issue and have no idea what to do now

The DHCP range is the range of IP addresses the router hands out automatically as devices join the network.  The DHCP range is determined by the router and each brand has a range set at the factory (that can be changed by you).
Your D-link's DHCP default range is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.  So, outside the DHCP range is .2 to .99 and .200 to .254.
Attached is a handy cheat sheet.
You can change this range by entering the router's settings page - type the router's IP address into a browser, enter the login info and navigate to the DHCP settings area (varies based on router, hunt around).

No, unfortunately, when you're in Calculation and click "pick"  it closes the previous window. But I can tell you!
In the Amount field I chose Calculate>Value is the PRODUCT of the following field, and I picked Hour1, which is the field where I entered the formula you provided HOURS1 * 10. I just checked the formula and saw that it was missing a space, and inserted it. So now there is a calculation appearing in the amount column, but it's equal to what I am entering in the Rental Fee Column, not 10x the amount. See illustration. I checked the calculation order (thank you for that) and fixed the sequence.
Also, when I go to select a number from from drop down box in the Rental Fee column, it now gives me an error message before inserting the number. The error message reads "Must be greater than or equal to 0 or less than or equal to 5."  I have no idea why, when the choices in the column are limited to 0, 1, 2, and 3. Is there a way to send you the actual form through this forum - I think I can upload it to the website and send you a link, correct? Thanks for your help, George.

  • HP LaserJet Professional P1102w won't print Web Services Information Sheet

    Hi there.
I've spent the last frustrating three hours trying to get the Web Services Information sheet to print on this printer. I need this sheet in order to register for ePrint.
I connect fine wirelessly on my computer to the printer. I have updated the firmware. Twice, to be sure.
I have gone to HP Web Services and clicked Enable
The message I then get is:
"A Web Services information sheet will be printed. Review the sheet for important information."
    However, nothing prints.
I have tried this process with the computer connected wirelessly through my network. I have tried it with the computer connected to the printer via USB. I have printed other things on the computer this way.
I have tried rebooting the network and the printer and then reconnecting
    I have tried these steps:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/eprint-printer-code-...
(I changed the preferred DNS from 10.0.1.11 and the alternate DNS from 8.8.4.4. to the values suggested)
Afterwards, there was no change. My printer continued to print in every way possible. However, it will not print the Web Services Information Sheet.
I'm very keen on getting my hands on this email so that I can register for ePrint. Can anybody help me? I would be hugely grateful.

Sorry to hear you were unable to setup the wireless again on the p1102w.
I have provided some steps in resetting up the p1102w on wireless network if you decide
to do it again in the future.
Reset the printer back to factory settings.
(turn printer off then hold down the x and the wireless button while turning on the printer until the lights start blinking then release the buttons.
Disconnect the usb cable from the printer.
Disconnect the routers power cable for 10 seconds and then reconnect it again.
Uninstall the p1102w from the computer.
(open cd  and select uninstall or go to uninstall a program from the control panel.)
Run the cd again or download depending what operating system you are running.
Connect the usb cable when prompted to setup the wireless again.
Enter passwords for the network when prompted.
Disconnect the usb cable when prompted.
Should be able to print out the test page now.
Then you should be able to get the web services information sheet to print but will need to print out a self test on the printer to get the new ip address for the printer.

  • Keep hp 6700 in good shape: automatic print quality diagnostic page every week?

    Hi all,
I've recently bought the HP Officejet 6700 Premium, and I'm concerned about keeping it in good condition, since I had to replace my previous canon printer because of a stuck printhead (the photo black one, I didn't used it for a long time).
Since I don't print much (but I'm using the ADF scanner a lot), and other family members prints sporadically, most of the time in black and white, I would like to setup an the printer to automatically print a diagnostic page every week to make sure everything is alright.
Using eprint, IFTTT and google calendar I could automatically send a file to print (I already set up the printer to wake up a few minutes before the calendar event) with black and color bars (someone suggest to print the google homepage since it has many colors but uses little ink).
Is there any chance I can directly print the print quality diagnostic page (so I can fully diagnose a problem if it occurs)?
    Thanks for the attention
    Cheers from Italy!

    Hey,
To clarify for you and answer your new questions on the printers self maintenance.
The maintenance cycle occurs randomly. It will occur after any power up, after print jobs(not every one) and any time it "think's" printhead health is poor. As mentioned above the printer to does have to be powered on for this to occur.
You can if you'd like still print off the odd test page just to check, once a month would be adaquet.
If you want to be saving power and are turning it off, then you would want it to be at least powering on and running the automated service that occurs weekly.
I hope this clarifies everything for you. Thanks for your posts.

  • Print parameters in Excel sheet

    Hi,
I have a question regarding print parameters of an excelsheet.
we have a report program which downloads the data into Excelsheet. The users run the program online, and once the excel is downloaded, they will take a print out.
This excel has different tabs. The users need to change the print parameters like changing from lanscape to potrait, setting the margins etc.... and then take a print output. can we avoid this manual process programatically.
our developer has used classes to download the excel.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

So it is downloaded, then the user opens the document manually and prints it.  Have you looked into OLE.

Using OLE, you can automatically print out the excel documents.  I would also assume that you can change the parameter as needed.
Here is a sample code showing the OLE code that will print the excel sheet.

  • PDFs are always printed 2 pages per sheet

My system was reformatted recently and everything had to be reinstalled.
Acrobat Reader XI (11.0.2) and Acrobat Pro 9 (9.0.0*) are now having problems when printing PDFs: every PDF is always printed at 2 pages per sheet. The resulting 4-point type printouts are not useable.
Word prints 1 page per sheet.
I'm not exactly sure where to even start troubleshooting this. Any suggestions would be welcome.
    Thanks in advance!
*Yes, 9.0.0. When I accepted the last automatic update, Acrobat Pro started crashing on startup. I uninstalled and reinstalled, and am very, very wary about accepting an update right now.

    Well, that was interesting.
After running the Acrobat Cleaner from the above link, on both Acrobat Pro 9.0 and Reader 11.0.2, it looked like everything was gone.
However, the company uses CA's IT Client Manager, and its DSM Software Delivery Catalog thinks that Acrobat Pro is still installed. So does Add/Remove Programs.
Six system reboots and A long call with the help desk later, my case has been escalated to the CA team and we'll see what happens now.
Reader 11.0.2 is reinstalled, and now? It can't print AT ALL. I get this instead of a printout:

  • Java Print API - Pages per sheet

    Hello
I made a java application to print a file.
    Everything works fine.
Now, I would like to be able to indicate that I want to print 2 pages per sheet.
    How can I do that?

    Thanks
So I tried using 2 different ways: using javax.print API and using java.awt.print.PrinterJob
Here is the code and result with the javax.print API:
Result: the file is printed correctly but the properties I filled on the printer dialog selection, no properties has been taken: I choose monochrome, the file has been printed in colors, I choose 2 pages per sheet and 1 page has been printed each sheet.
    Code:

}Here is the code and result with the java.awt.print API:
Result: the file has been printed correctly, the properties I choose on the printer dialog were well taken. The only problem is the printing seems to be slower.

                   pj.setPageable(book);
                   if (pj.printDialog()) {
                        System.out.println("Printing");

  • Can calendar automatically print a document on a schedule?

Is there any way to make Calendar print a document on a specific day? At the end of every month I have to send in a sales tax return sheet. I set up a reminder to remind me to do it but I was thinking it would be nice if it would just automatically print out the sheet for me.
    Thanks

Thanks for the idea, the only problem is that I can't afford to buy a new app. Is there a free app that will do the same thing, or could I use Automator? Also, I don't have any experience with this type of thing, how would I create this sequence once I have the proper app.
Thanks again for all your help.

  • Automatically print a PDF from received emails.

I'm trying to make Mail and Automator work together so that everytime I received a email (that I sended myself so I can print it on my mac) it's automatically printed and everything's cleaned up after.
I know nuts about automator, so here's what I did so far.
I config'ed mail with a rule that states that if "printthisplz" (my keyword) is in a mail, move it into the "mailprint" mailbox.
From there, I made an automator workflow that will get the email from that mailbox "mailprint", Get attachments from these mails (being in this case PDFs only) saving them to a folder named "mailprint" on my mac, then "Print" finder items. I also added in the end to Move those Finder items to trash.
At first it seemed to work, except it presented me the printing window of my printer, then said it was completed while nothing printed. The second run showed an error, which was corrected by adding Move to trash (apparently it won't work if there's already a file with the same name in the folder).
So it seems to be fine, if we consider that it should print normaly (which isn't the case so far), but I want to make it run by itself (e.g: whenever a mail is moved to that mailbox, trigger xx workflow or "print the attachments of the mails").
Thanks if anybody can help me with this!
PS: I know that I can share my computer's printer over a local network and in fact, that's what I've done. Unfortunatly the stubborn PC down there don't seem to pick up good the printer and I always find myself sending an email. Also autoprint from a remote place could be very cool at all.
