Automatic quality notification

Hi
I configure for automatic quality notification
It is working good - if any one of MIC is out of spec. - qn notification created for that mic- on line item created in QN notification -( for normal inspection )
if it is free inspection point - any one of MIC is off spec -- QN notification created - but wired thing is there are 2line item in quality notification ( both lines are associated with same MIC)
even if I accepted the inspection point during valuation -- 2defect line is created
I guess SAP is creating 2 item lines in defect record 9one for mic and another for insp.point identifier)
please correct me if I am wrong
another wired thing is if i create another inspection point for same phase - off spec --> it is creating another 2 item line in defect & QN notification but the previous one item automatically deleted?
is it std? or some thing wrong
Can you plz guide me. this is only for inspection points but fro normal inspection one mic failure one defect line item.

We are using Free inspection point (that is our requirement)
2 line item get created in item overview of qn notification (2 line item created for defect record -QF02) even for one MIC was out of specification. in this case only one defect record/ on item should be created
but it is not ?
when I tested the same for normal inspection - it is creating 1 defect item in item overview of QN and also .defect record.(but 100 free inspection -SAP behave differenty)
if my second inspection point identification has any one of MIC out of spec - the second line item deleted from item overview of notification (not over write becasue initally item no 1,2 after this 1,3 means item 2 deleted)
is this std behaviour of free nspection point?
or we can restrict?
I didn't tested for 150 becuse we are not inspected based on time /qty -- we are testing any time any qty produced -- this is our requiremnt

Enhancement to automate Quality notification after stock transfer posted.

Hi PP Gurus,
Here we need to create Quality Notification (type Q2 and Q3) only when Stock of material is moved to Blocked stock through movement type 344. If the material/batch is against vendor it should open Quality notification type Q2 and if it is against Production order it should open Quality Notification type Q3.
If anybody worked on such requirement please help.

The development is done using MB_DOCUMENT_BADI (which will be triggered once document is posted against movement type 344), which eventually trigger FM IQS0_CREATE_VIQMEL.

Automatic quality Notification during defect recording

Hi Guru's
We have two plants , Plant A will be using the default Notification - F1 , F2 & F3 , plant B will use Cust. Y1 , Y2 & Y3 ,
In t-code QF11 When activating notification type , system is picking the defaults ,
My client requirement is that Notification type should match up to the inspection lot origin. For Ex
Inspection Type 01 (GR for PO) >> Inspection Lot Origin - 01 (Goods Receipt ) >> Notification Type Default Setting (F2) >> Notification type Dropdown Options ( F1 , F2 & G0)
Please tell how the dropdown option for Notification Type can be maintained in QF11 during activation screen

What I know is that you can not set the notification type in customization for inspection type depending upon the "Plant"
First thing when you copy the notification from original F1 or F2 then system will show that in f4 option in customization.
Second thing if you wish to have notification plant specific,then there can be one solution.
Copy inspection type 01 say Z01.
Assign customized notification type( copy of F1 or F2) to this inspection type.
Activate only this inspection type in other plant.
So for first plat default notification will be SAP default & for second plant it will be always say Y1 or Y2 etc.
I hope this is possible !!

Automatic Creation of Quality Notification

Dear All,
In standard SAP whenever defects recording is done for an inspection lot and saved,automatically a quality notification is also created.In my business scenario they will record defects for almost all the inspection lots hence resulting in a huge number of unwanted quality notification which then later wont be processed at all.
Hence i wanted to know whether anything can be done to stop auto creation of notification.Is there anything which i could in IMG or any setting to avoid that???

1.This is very much possible through SPRO setting.
QCC0>Quality planning>catalogs>select defect calss->
like for Minor defect-->remove Raido button & make it No active function
Just a suggetion ...what you can do for all Critical & major type of defect keep "Active Notification"
for Minor type of defects keep "No Act fuction"
this will reduce unnecessory notification.
2.If you permanently want to remove all notification after defect recording then
Go to Inspection type setting in SPRO & remove notification against inspection type.
QCC0>Qul insp>Insp lot creation-->maintain inspec type.

Automatic generation of Quality notification of type Q1 and/or F1

Can anybody give me the steps to generate F1 and/or Q1 quality notifications automatically. Please give me detailed process which should i fallow to achieve this.

Automatic Task Determination In Quality Notifications

Hi QM experts!
In the Quality Notifications, there is an item called "DETERMINE TASKS", it under the menu EDIT->TASKS->DETERMINE. What is the main purpose of this item? Is this the part where i can automatically put the TASKS in the TASKS tab? If that is so, how can i set it up?
What is also the main function of DETERMINE PARTNERS. And how do i set it up?
I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

the menu use specified is used for automatically generating of Task when you specify the priority in notification, it works like this
Automatic Determination of Tasks
Use
The system can automatically determine which tasks should be performed first, based on the predefined parameters response profile and service profile. The response profile and service profile determine the times and the time interval within which your company should respond to a notification in a particular way:
In the response profile, you can define one or more standard tasks based on a notification's priority, which the system can propose automatically and which must be performed within a specified time period. The system automatically assigns the determined tasks to the notification header.
In the service profile, you can define time periods for individual workdays (service windows), in which a quality notification can be processed.
You create a notification at 10:00 am. The response profile defines a time interval of two hours for the task code "Call back customer" and a time interval of 4 hours for the code "Check whether technician is on site". The times defined in the service window are 8:00 am to 12.00 noon and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
In this case, you should call back the customer by 12:00 noon to discuss or clarify the problem. If you have to send a technician to the customer site, the technician must arrive by 4:00 pm.
Prerequisites
Your system administrator must assign both a response profile and a service window to each notification type in Customizing for Notification Processing.
Activities
Choose Edit ® Tasks ® Determine to automatically determine the tasks. You can also choose Edit ® Tasks ® Simulation(Det.) to simulate the task determination (without actually assigning the tasks to the notification).

Automatic/Immediate print of quality notification after saving

Hi,
Checked numerous posts avialable on this requirement but after following the suggestion still facing the issue.
Requirement is right after saving a quality notification print should be triggered.
Following settings are in place:
In Quality Notification print control
-> Define Shop papers, Forms, Print programs (1. defined shop papers and assigned print programs 2. Assigned shop papers to notification types)
-> Define Printer ( here under user-dependent print control with wild card * entries chose Print Now option)

Hi Raghava,
If you have configured the notification print control setup correctly, then the next step to get a notification printed is to select the right shop floor paper and print it. To do that please select - QM02/QM03 => Notification => Notification
Now select the appropriate Printer and the document you wish to get printed and print it manually.
Please note that any notification type can have more than more than one Shop Floor Paper selected to be printed. If you wish to automate it based on User details, then I think you may need to work with the below exit -
QQMA0014 QM/PM/SM: Checks before saving a notification
Please note that you have to put a logic there to read the user's credentials and print the notification while saving. You can take clues form the below thread too -

Automatic print of Quality Notification

Dear All,
I need to know if it is possible print automatically the Quality Notifications when people create a new one.
For production order you can set a customizing flag that allow to print the order. There is in SAP R/3 an equal system for the QN?

go to : t : code OIDB : assign shop papers to your notification type
Then when you create notification print can be taken

Automatic triggering of F1, Q1 quality notification

Hi,
Can anybody give me the steps to generate F1 and/or Q1 quality notifications automatically. Please give me detailed process which should i fallow to achieve this.

F1/Q1 notifiacations are the notifications for vendor complaints/rejections. You can only create these notifications automatically through QM. While rejecting the inspection lots or recording the defects it is possible to create these notifications automatically

QM_Control on Required start date in quality notifications

Dear QM experts,
Requirement is,
For Q2 notification type the entries in required start date filed (QMEL-STRMN) to be restricted in such a way so that user can not do entry for last month.
Foe example,
1.     Today is June 12, 2009. If a user is creating Q2 notification today he/she may change the required start date in the past but not before 1st June 2009.
2.     User should be in a position to enter back date in required filed only for the current month
3.     The concept is just similar to period closing activities.
I tried through SPRO-Quality Management-Quality notifications-Notification creation u2013Notification types-Define screen templates-Field Selection: General Screens. Here there is facility to make the field grey, hide or required. One of the limitations is that this is client level setting.
Can the requirement be mapped for particular plant and for perticular notification type?

Here are some of the thoughts. Please check and then come back with your feedback
1) Make Priority button mandatory for Q2 notification .VIQMEL-PRIOK. You can do only for Notification type Q2 by using the influencing fields
2) Make required date in grey so that no changes can be done . do this notification Q2
2) Maintain QM priorities SPRO >Quality Notifications > Notification Processing>Response Control> Define Priorities
3) Maintain Priorities in the QM priority in the same config
When you set the priority in the notification required from and end date is updated in the system automatically
4) Use this exit QQMA0018 Deadline setting based on entered priority to make sure that always the date doesnt fall on past date

Transfer posting to block stock through quality notification

Dear QM Experts,
I am trying to post the material from unrestricted use to block stock through quality notification type Q2. Following are the details.
1.     Material is batch managed
2.     Storage location is managed by warehouse management and has storage bin.
3.     Material has split valuation
When I click on link transfer post unrestrictedblock system asks to put storage type and storage bin. Here I enter the appropriate details. When I press enter system throws error message as Enter valuation type as the material has split valuation active. Surprisingly I do not find the option to put this valuation type in Q2 notification screen.
On the contrary when I try to do 344 movment manually through MB1B system gives pop up to select appropriate valuation type.
Requirement is movement 344 should happen through quality notification considering above constraints. How the valuation type to be entered in Q2 notification?
I would be grateful, if someone can throw some light on this.

Which valuation category do you use in material master accounting view?
In my experience..
Normally a company use the batch management for split valuation and a valuation type should be input automatically by transaction in batch master.
Therefore when you input a material, plant, batch in notification screen, a valuation type would be selected in background by system.
Anyway try below..
At transaction MSC2N you input a valuation type into batch master then try to transafer posting through notification.
I'm not sure why your batch master does not have a valuation type.

Quality Notification Config

Hi,
My company implemented 4.6C in 2004. At that time, we had configured our Quality Notification types. Nearly 3 years later, I want to optimize their designs but since we have more than 6,000 QNs created by this point, I don't want to risk losing any historical data.. nor do I want to re-invent the wheel in order to redesign what we have.
One improvement I'd like to make is to set up a series of 'tasks' that can be automatically assigned to a QN type upon creation of the QN. Currently, the tasks are created individually which seems like a lot of wasted time if we know upfront that the same 4 or 5 task 'steps' are required. Does anyone have experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We achieved the same by implementing the following two user exits:
EXIT_SAPMIWO0_001 - Default Values when Creating a Notification
EXIT_SAPMIWO0_019 - Default Values when Creating a Task
We basically hard coded the required values in the user exit EXIT_SAPMIWO0_001
I have the code somewhere and I can look for it if you require.

Auto Quality Notification and Return Delivery Via Usage Decision

I am using the Quality inspection with Material Specification.
Just an overview of my current system settings -
Inspection Type 101 for Purchased parts , My Inspection characteristics and Batch Charracteristics are linked .Batch classification is updated as a result of Usage Deceision
My Requirement -
If the Inspection lot is getting rejected , system should trigger the Quality notification and return delievery automatically .
Can someone pl help me with detailed steps for acheiving this...

I think I missed some thing in my question
I understand that this is Standard Sap when you post the stock into Return Deilivery stock , it 'll do the movement type 122 and create the material docuement.
However My requiremnet is to get the Delivery Document number with the reference of which i can do the PGI .
I gone thru the SAP help and learnt that we can trigger the Quality notification automatically if we reject the inspection lot...But not confident "how" as never done before..that the reason i posted my query if someone has done this before..
OR
Any option to create Delivery Document when rejecting one Inspection Lot is UD..W/o Notification also will work for me..
So I am aiming to get Delivery Document not material document as our materials are WM managed...
Could some one put some light on this...

Set a User Status for Quality Notifications only if they are "Activated".

Hello experts:
I need to be able to set a User Status for Quality Notifications only if they are "Activated".
When defects are recorded for an inspection lot, a "Defect Notification" is created which can be activated to become a "Quality Notification". Initially, the only difference between the inactive "Defect Notification" and the active "Quality Notification" is that the system status DEFR is active for the "Defect Notification", but is cleared when the notification is activated.
So, I'm looking for the business process associated with the Activation to use as a trigger for my own user status.
I checked the business rules for status DEFR and found that the following processes clear this status
PMM1 - Postpone Notification
PMM2 - Put Notification In Process
PMM3 - Assign Order
PMM6 - Put Notification In Process Again
Any Ideas ?

Perhaps some additional information would help you understand what I need to do.
For notification type F3, we are recording all defects found in production.
Most of these are expected defects that result in a minor reduction in yield.
For this type of defect, we do not activate the notification, and the inspection lot is closed automatically at the end of production.
However, sometimes defects are observed of an unexpected type or a higher than expected quantity.
When this happens we manually activate the notification and assign tasks to find and correct the cause.
It is only for these activated notifications that I want to automatically set a user status, which among other things, will prevent the notification from being closed until some other actions are complete and a different user status is selected.
The function of the user status currently works exactly as I want, but if it is set as the initial status for all F3 notifications, it is also preventing the un-activated defect notifications from automatically closing. I therefore want to use the Activation event as the trigger to set my user status.

Create Quality Notification With Default Initial Priority

Has anyone found a way to configure a quality notification so that when the notification type is initially created it is automatically assigned a default priority?

Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction. This seems to be exactly what I need, as function module permits me to enter the notification type and the priority.
