Automatic referencing of page/figure number on another page (Indesign CS3 Windows)

I am working on a catalog, and in the catalog, I have various references to figure numbers and other pages within text frames. The problem I have is that it is somewhat inconvenient to update these page and figure numbers when pages are added, moved, deleted, etc. It would be nice if I could put an automatic-updating reference to a page number or figure number within text without having to manual adjust it when pages change. Is this possible? If so, how can it be accomplished?

I actually emailed Jan @ DTP yesterday, and I was informed that the functionality with Word was something to be added in an upcoming update, but no real time frame was given. In other words, it is on their radar, but they have bigger fish to fry, apparently. Also, I called Virginia Systems, as they have a cross-reference solution as well, but they said this is not possible with their software, and it would most likely happen when a bigger corporation wants it and would pay for the development.
I really do not want to use InCopy, as it has a lot of unnecessary functionality for what we do, but it may come to that. I know DTP's cross-reference plug in works with InCopy, at least that's what their web site says.
I did email Teus de Jong this morning about his script. I'll post anything I get from him.

How to turn off automatic numbering in Pages

I recently had a problem getting rid of automatic numbering within Pages.
I keyed in a numbered heading (eg, "1. H1") and then hit return, when it gave me another numbered heading ("2. H2") on the next line, which I didn't want.
The easiest way to get round this is to hit the return key on the automatically numbered line (eg, "2. H2"), which removes the "2" and puts you to the start of the line. This seems to tell Pages that you don't want automatic numbering, at least for the time being. Perhaps until you key another numbered heading...
To turn off automatic numbering on an individual line you can press the "i" button at the top and select "None". That will remove the number.

The View menu does what it says:
Menu > View > Hide Invisibles

TS2755 I living in Israel using Hot Mobile an 3.9G network, transferred my old number from another carrier and for some reason the imessage / face-time not working anymore even restore not helped, it stuck on "waiting for activation" please help

when i try to active the imessage or facetime it typing "Waiting for activation" and stuck like this.
when i go to setting > phone > i see the correct number.
i think i read the whole google already trying resolving this issue tried everything, even restored my phone and actived the new sim using itunes.
but still not working same error.
the NEW sim of HOT MOBILE gave me a temporary number which worked fine its was 053-xxxxxx
after somthing the transfer like 24 later hours they transfered my old number from another carrier witch is 054-xxxxxx
and now not working.
called my carrier and they has no idea how to fix that.
they told me contact apple.

Hi guys,
I keep getting "waiting for activation" on my iMessage. I can only send/receive iMessage from my email address, NOT my phone number.
I have done all kind of fixing suggestions that I can find online, but nothing works so far.
- Date & time set as automatic (I don't know why this matter, but mine was already set as automatic from the begining)
- Reset network setting
- Changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8.
- Restore to factory setting (from back up & as new iPhone)
- Turning on/off iMessage & facetime
- Sign out/in of apple ID
- Change location from apple ID
- Hard reset/reboot
And many others.
...me too. I'm in Portugal having the same issue!! Hopefuly Apple will give us a solution, shortly...

How to automatic submit a page if a field is filled?

still I have the problem to give my users a simple method for login. MOD_NTLM cannot be used because we have windows 2003.
So I had another idea. I create 2 hidden items on the login-page (101). These fields I fill with the URL: http://bondbmstst01.eba.local:7777/pls/htmldb/f?p=101:101:::::P101_P1,P101_P2:Uxxyu],qopp
The character at the end of the line are crypted the username and password. I fill the items P101_USERNAME with "select encrypt_auth(:P101_P1) from dual", the password is the same.
Now I have only to press the LOGIN-Button to login. But I would have, that if the hidden item P101_P1 is filled, the button is hit by automatic or the page submitting is automatic.
Is this possible?

Hello Mike,
it is not exact this. In normal the login-page has 2 items, one for username, one for password. To login I have to fill out the both fields and press enter or click "Login". This is good so.
Another way to login should be, that I write the username and password in the URL and fill two hidden items. If the page is loaded, I will check the both hidden fields and make a automatic login - without a user have to write anything.
I can fill the items P101_USERNAME and P101_PASSWORD, but after that a user have to click on the button "LOGIN", but I dont want, that a user have to do anything to login.
I hope, it is now a little bit clearer.

Transfer of my mothers phone number to another cus...

I have Enduring Power of Attorney for my mother who is one hundred years of age and now resides in a Residentiial Care Home. On checking her phone this morning there was a message (from 25/10) from BT telling her that they were transferring her number to another customer on 31st October.
Her line rental is infact paid up to January 2014. Surely they cannot just take her number away. Whilst she makes virtually no calls herself a great number of people phone her to keep in touch by this phone number. Her bills are paid on time and never in arrears.
How do I stop this from happening? I just despair

Can I transfer AppleCare from one number to another number within same family?

I have 5 phones under me.
I purchased the Iphone 5 under my number with the AppleCare. Unfortunately a few months later I wanted another phone. I switched the Iphone 5's phone number to another family member.
Did I lose the AppleCare at that point?
Now this family member with the Iphone 5 wants another phone, and we want to give the Iphone 5 to another family member.
Question: Is there a possibility I still have the AppleCare (I did not call Apple at the time) and can cancel the AppleCare and get it prorated since I made one transfer which the Terms state one can do? Like most people, I didn't read the Terms. =(
or...did I lose the AppleCare once I transferred the number? I did inquire at the time, and the phone company stated I could do it...so I did...

The AppleCare stays with the hardware, not the phone number.

Is there a way to periodically, automatically, move mail from one folder to another?
For example, I'd like to move mail from one of my IMAP/Archives folders to my MyMac/Archive folder and I'd like this to happen without intervention.

When I'm done with an email, I archive it.
Because I have multiple email accounts, this results in emails in multiple Archive folders (one per account).

I am a new Indesign user and a Creative Cloud member. I was using the Window/Pages drop down window to view my pages alphabetically or by page number and also to determine whether or not my JPEG files were sufficiently HI-Res for the printer. I don't know how I did it but somehow the window has changed so that now it does not have the alphabetical/numerical/Hi-Res information. It just shows the pages in a two page spread in numerical order. How can I restore the window so that I will be able to view the information as I did previously.

The pages panel is not the place where you see this information. You can customize the Links panel to show all sorts of things, including the page number, effective and actual ppi, and whether the link is OK or needs updating.

There are multiple solutions to this questions a few i will try to answer and then you can take the best required for your requirements.
**Consider that you have a Internal table having document number from other table..
SELECT NAME ADRES REGION FROM ADRC
       INTO IT_ADRC
       FOR ALL ENTRIES IN IT_DOC
       WHERE DOCUMENT_NO = IT_DOC-DOCUMENT_NO.
**Consider that you have 1 document number then
SELECT NAME ADRES REGION FROM ADRC
     INTO IT_ADRC
     WHERE DOCUMENT_NO = W_DOCUMENT_NO.

i have an urgent issue regarding asset topic and sub number.
my issue is my client purchased 100 computer sets. Each computer set has an unique asset number. now we are using multiple account assignment concept. Earlier my client use to purchase 100 computers by including 100 line items in the purchase order in item overview each having an asset number(that belongs to a particular asset class which is in turn assigned to one G/L account). So we can see that it is a very lengthy job. Instead my client wants that they should enter only one line item containing the asset number in the item overview of the PO.
At present we are using multiple account assignment as we are creating the asset sub number under one main asset.
With this we are able to prevent entering 100 line items in the item overview but we are entering the 100 sub number data in item details of the PO.
item overview look out:
Ex: asset no: 100268           quantity -100       price- 20000
item detail look out:
quantity           asset         sub number
1                       100268          1
1                      100268            2.....
similarly upto 100......
THis is done in account assignment tab of PO.
REQUIREMENT:
when i am giving asset number 100268 sysytem should automatically give/propose 100 sub number as we have defined 100 sub number in as11 for that asset number. I.e: when we are putting asset number 100268 in the item overview it should reflect 100 quantities in item detail.
is it possible???

With computer running Windows 7 using the curser can select an item, then right click and select copy. With computer running Windows 8 there is a hand instead of a curser therefore unable to select an item, therefore unable to copy. Is there a way to have a curser rather than the hand?
Eureka!!! Just found by right clicking on the hand can then select “Select Tool” and then copy. Hurray!!!

You can't remove your phone number from iMessage on an iPhone. To prevent another phone from receiving your messages, use different Apple IDs for iMessage. One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. You can still share the same ID for other services such as iTunes if you want; they don't have to be the same as your iMessage ID.
