one requirement in my business scenario like some material we have batch with serial no so we assigned serial no profile in plant level data my query is when i do goods receipt against purchase order if i select the checkbox create serial no automatically it wont show any serial no once i done GR only i am able to see in display mode is there any config setting is missed becuase if i click that check box i want to check the serial nos kindly guide if any body know

i haven't received any solutions from QM Experts

Restrict Automatic serial number calculation for Production order release

Hi,
I need the solution for following requirement.
Release production order(CO02) . Then go to Menu header-> Serial Numbers.
Here I am getting serial numbers automatically as the material used in production order is set for automatic serial number calculation.
But I want to restrict automatic serial number assignment based on production order type.
If order type is 'XYZ', I dont want to calculate serial numbers automatically.
Can anyone tell me how to do it?

When you press Release Order button the BADI 'WORKORDER_UPDATE->AT_RELEASE' will be called.
At this point the internal tables for Serial numbers are filled by the program automatically.
So call function module 'SERIAL_INTTAB_REFRESH' which will refresh the internal tables for serial numbers generated before teh serial number window pops up.
Also at the BADI 'WORKORDER_UPDATE->AT_SAVE' call the same function module because before this BADI call when you press 'SAVE' the program again checks if automatic serial number is set for that material and if yes then check if no serial numbers are generated then it generates the serial numbers again and fills the internal tables. So clear the internal tables again based on the conditions.
In these BADI's we have access of header information which can be used to check condition.
I hope this will give you better idea.

Enhancement IQSM0001 Automatic serial number assignment

Hi,
I have used enhancement IQSM0001, function module EXIT_SAPLIPW1_001 for the automatic serial allocation in delivery which is working fine; but the same enhamcement is not working for return delivery.
After investigation; i found that this enhancement only works with delivery document category 'J' which is delivery and not with 'T' which i used for return delivery.
Any idea guys?

Why in the return delivery you want to activate the user exit? Returns should carry the same serial number that is assigned already in the outbound delivery.
If the above statement is wrong, then in the user exit itself why can't the code be modified to include the return delivery document category type?
If the exits checks something else, then check OSS Note 1040756 - Type inequality in EXIT_SAPLIPW1_001

Can you help me to know if any user exit available to create serial number for line item in delivery automatically.
Business does not want to use existing serial numbers and user may wrongly select the same. So need restrictions to use existing serial numbers and create new one automatically.

i Tried to do the Inventory Transaction through DIAPI with Automatic Serial Number creation ,its working fine but i have problem when i choose another warehouse.Let me give an Example i have three ware house called W01,W02,W03 for the first ware house W01 i can automatically create the serail from 1 to 100, the moment when i choose the second ware house (i.e.,) W02 my serial number should start from 1.. any one can help me this regards

The serial number is unique in all warehouse in B1 system. It means if one item has serial number '1', then
you can not add the serial number '1' for all warehouse.
The DIAPI implements same logic as B1 application so it can not implement in DIAPI also.

Sub: How to supress/deactivate the buttonfacility "Create serial number Automatically" while goods movement.
I have assigned Serial number profile "0001" for certain materials. For any goods movement system forces to give Serial number with a dialog box pop-up (Maintain Serial number as header) in which "search for Serial numbers as search button" and "Create serial nummber automatically". I have a requirement to either suppress or deactivate the functionality of Create serial number automatically. Please advice on this issue.

If I select that system doesn't ask for serial number. We have to give manually.
Let me explain you scenario.
Serial number usage should be "obligatory", and system should ask for Serial number.
We have two options on the pop-up screen, 1. Create Serial numbers automatically and 2. regular search option (as an Icon) and also there some icons like "delete", "select all" etc,.
Requirement is: User should not have access to create Serial number Automatically, user should search for the serial numbers and moreover system should force user to give serial number.

Automatic serial number and record of vendor's serial in Tcode Migo

We recently changed the serial numbers from manual to automatic creation while executing "MIGO".
However the warehouse manager wants to record the vendor's serial number as well, at the same time, is there a way to open a window, in migo for vendor's serial number record.

The answer you gave boils down to "if
an object is serializable it will be serialized,
otherwise it won't."Not at all, it boils down to 'if the object is reachable from a serialized object it will be serialized otherwise not', with the appropriate qualifications.
Your response oversimplified the
possibilities - not taking into account that if the
inner class doesn't create any objects and only
manipulates serializable fields of the outer class
then they will participate in the serialization, or
that the inner class objects will be serializable if
it's a subclass of the outer class, as examples..I don't understand any of this. Inner classes are not serialized at all[i/], it is [i]instances which may or may not be serialized, and this only depends on whether they are directly or indirectly reachable from the outer class instance, and not in the least on what the inner class does or doesn't do with fields of the outer class or whether it has field objects of its own.
I agree that an inner class which extends a serializable outer class will be serialiable, but that wasn't the question.
BTW reachability is not discussed in the article cited at all and neither is your other misconception quoted above.

Automatic Serial numbers

We serialize our laptops. When ever we place an order for laptops vendor supplies laptops those are serialized in an order, and mentions first and last serial number. At the time of GR Store Clerk wants to enter First serial number in that lot and wants system to generate rest. How can I handle this. Is there any configuration behind this. Please answer as soon as you can.
Ex: PO for 10 laptops
Vendor supplies 10 laptops with serial numbers 12380 to 12389, Store clerk wants to enter just first serial number i.e. 12380 system should gernerate rest. This process should happen for all the subsequent PO's as well. For the next order vendor sends 12760 to 12769, Store Clerk wants to enter just 12760, system should generate rest.

How to insert automatic, serial numbering in Illustrator CS, v. 11

I am trying to create a series of raffle tickets and would like to have each ticket identified with a unique number, generated in order--so that the first ticket reads "number 1", the second ticket reads "number 2", etc. I know how to do this sort of thing in word-processing programs, but I can't find instructions on how to do this in Illustrator. I am working on Windows XP and am using Illustrator CS, version 11. I would be grateful for some guidance. Thanks.

There is no such feature in Illustrator.
However,
this page
describes an AI Javascript I hacked out for a similar purpose. Take a look at the scripts named JET_SerialNumbers.jsx and JET_NumberedCallouts.jsx.
Alternatively, since you know how to do it a word processor, etc., you can also do it using FillDown in Excel, copy and paste into Illustrator:
1. Open a new Excel file.
2. In the first cell, type "Number 1".
3. In the next cell below, type "Number 2".
4. Select both cells. Drag the Fill Down handle downward as many rows as you want.
5. Select the column. Copy.
6. Switch to Illustrator. Paste. Ungroup.

Automatic creation of serial number

Hello guys,
   In serial number profile, in serializing procedure for PPAU and PPRL i have maintained 4-automatic(creation of serial number) and this serial number profile i have given in workscheduling view of material master.When i create the production order for this material of qty 20,it gives serial number from 1 to 20.And again i create the production order for it of qty 20,it gives serial number to it from 20 to 40.
   Now my question is,in automatic creation of serial number from where it takes the number ranges.
Does it take from equipment category which we assign to serial number profile?If not than from where it takes?

Dear Jitendra,
Automatic Serial Numbers come from Number Range Object which is defined in Tcode SNRO. Number range is also defined in SNRO only under number range object for specific purpose.
You can check in SNRO----> Overview which gives you Overview of Number Range Objects & Number Ranges defined from them.
So your serial numbers are coming automatically actually defined there only.
Pls. go through the above.

I´am using serial numbers for certain materials with Stock check, and in my serial number profile the procedure MMSL (maintain goods receipt and issue doc.) is set the serusage 03 (obligatory).
I need this configuration, so I can control stock for which serial number, and this serial number can´t be set automatically, it was to be write down by the users.
The problem I have is that when I´am doing a material movement, for example, mvt 501 in MB1C or in MI04 to register the inventory count, the series number is obligatory has I want, but the system gives the user to "create automatically serial numbers", and when the user do that is creating new serial numbers sequential by the number range I gave. What I Want to know is:
Is there any way to disable this option of "create serial numbers automatically???

You can use PRE-RECORD trigger at block level and if you write
:TXT_SL:=:system.trigger_record;you will get serial no. After deleting or adding it will not re-organize your serial no un till you navigate at other record. If you navigate through out the record, it will
re-organized.
If you want it dynamically, you need to do a loop after any interaction in records.
