Automatic shutdown, freezing, the list goes on. HE

I received my 6GB Zen Micro for Christmas of 05. Only recently (within the past few weeks) have I encountered the headphone jack problem. While that was the only problem, today everything seemed to go downhill. I am not sure if everything in the top of the player near all the ports is loose. When it was on, if I applied even the slightest pressure to try and get volume to rectify the headphone jack issue for a second, it turned off. Then it started happening it any pressure was applied to the top in general. And then it turned off if pressure was applied to the back near the battery.
I have also experienced something on the Zen I haven't seen before. It loaded a screen that said "Low Battery" and had a battery in the center of the screen. The battery is not low and I have never seen this before!
I am also having tremendous difficulty trying to turn the player on as of this evening. It just won't turn on!
The USB connection is also being tempermental. It worked once or twice this evening to power it on, but for the most part it has not! The odd time it has loaded and I have managed to sync a few files (because I had to wipe the whole dri've) it has only played for a second and then it says "Shutting Down". I restart it, and it says this again only 3 seconds after turning it on and hearing a second or two of music. Just this instant after several attempts of turning it on, I got it on (I removed the back part a few times). It is playing the one of the songs on it fine (minus of course the fact that audio is only coming out of the left headphone). And all of one second later it just said Shutting Down (though I got audio in both headphones for one sec).
All of this problems started with the headphone jack problem that I recognized and intially thought was due to some mistreatment of the player. I think all these problems are related to something. Maybe the top has all become loose and wobbly or something. I don't know!
I am not sure what to do! If I send it back, they will obviously find the headphone jack problem (if they manage to turn the bloody thing on), but what about my other issues! I want a complete replacement, not just a repair. I have heard nothing but dreadful news from people who have been sent back the same product with the same problem.

It looks as if there's a problem with your GPU. With a Retina machine, that would mean replacement of just about everything, except, perhaps, the flash storage drive.
Print you kernel panic when you go to your Apple Store appointment. I'm betting that it's a faulty GPU but they will be able to diagnose exactly where the problem lies.

You most likely ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

What do you guys think of having another added list like
HOME>LOGIC PRO & EXPRESS & SHARED FILES?
That way people that come on this forum and the express will be able to upload/download presets that they have or they want.
Main reason is, I've been going through Guitar Amp Pro and it has pretty good presets but if there was more it'll be better, plus the good presets in there are just not enough,Bass Amp as well needs alot of presets

Being able to have this added with the Forums right next to LOGIC PRO & EXPRESS will be a great idea, that way both pros, newbies, express, and others will be able to share tips, tricks, settings, presets, and other beautiful things

I very much doubt that Apple would be willing to facilitate file trading, even of presets, on the Discussions. But you can make the suggestion to the Discussions Moderators in the Discussions Feedback area.

Freezing the List View Menu

Hi Team,
I have asked to make the SP list and Library views menu freeze.
But I did not find anything that can be done/doable moreover, I read few articles regarding "How to freeze the List or Library views menu" the answer is it was done by some java scrip/jquery.
However, many were saying it just works 1(one) time later it gets break.
Hence are there any different ways of achieving this task? Kindly advise.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to freeze the column header of a list view.

Client certificate authentication fails when the CA list sent by server is big and the list goes in 2 encrypted messages.

I checked with IE browser(on windows and MAC) and MAC safari packet capture. The CA certificate list is sent by server in 2 messages as the list is too big. I compared packet by packet exchanges in both the browsers. It is same till TLSv1 handshake is done for the ldap certificate authentication. It works fine in IE without any issues though the certificate list is divided into 2 messages.
In case of safari, after the TLSv1 handshake is done successfully, it again sends a SSLv3 'Client Hello' message and initiates the whole handshake process again and the server responds to it too till the handshake is complete. But it brakes after that with the server showing 'Cant establish secure connection' at the browser.
The issue occurs only in case of MAC safari for big list of CA certs >150(where it crosses the max limit) from server. It is not clear why safari alone is switching from TLSv1 to SSLv3 in this scenario.
NOTE: With shorter list of CA certs at server when it goes in one message, safari works fine and all messages are only TLSv1 and does not repeat the handshake process.
I have checked on safari version 5 and 6.0.3 on OS X mountain lion.
Is there any specific reason why MAC safari behaves like this or somethings needs to be done at server?

My MacBook freezes & the screen goes black!

My MacBook keeps freezing up and the screen goes black. It happens a lot when the computer "goes to sleep"--it will just go unresponsive. It's weird because even though the screen blacks out, I can still sort of see what is on the screen! The computer is always still running, it doesn't shut off. I have no idea what this means! Can anyone help me??

If this is a new MBP, then make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have them fix it for you under the warranty provisions.

Right click on the email in the left hand pane. Select Mark as Unread to return it to an unread state. Click Delete to move it to the trash or file it in a folder if you have any configured. You may need to click the show button on the upper left hand side of the window to see your folders. The + sign at the bottom of that pane allows you to add a new folder.

Upgraded to Yosemite It's a nightmare!! Itunes and Safari will not open Iphoto does not exist and the list goes on!!

I've spent all day trying to fix all the problems I'm encountered after updating to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro today. It's been a waste of a day. Nothing I have researched has helped. I wish I never updated. What is ironic that most of the things that do not work or Apple i products. I don't understand cloud but have a feeling this is the cause of most of the problems.
After update my computer prompted me to say cannot connect to Icloud Drive (What I don't understand I cloud and didn't know I had an Icloud drive).
Itunes will not open at all and it does not even try to open(I've downloaded it again to no avail).
Iphoto has a Circle slash mark through it so it's not even avaliable.
Safari will not open just like Itunes.
Icloud in preferences just keeps spinning like it's looking for Icloud drive. (Even though I don't use this I feel it is the problem)
So I have no access to my music, my photos cannot get on the internet with Safari Browser.
I'm afraid of what else probably doesn't work but I've been so consumed with the top three I haven't got to really explore the rest of all the apps.
My main concern at the moment are my pictures and my music.

iPhoto is still in your Applications folder. Your iPhoto Library is still where it was.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion or Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Now, download and install the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update.

My Macbook Pro (15 w/Retina, 2012) keeps blacking out on me. The computer doesn't fully shutdown, but the screen goes black. What does this mean?

About a month ago my fan started making a weird clicking/whirring noise. It eventually stopped and I thought nothing of it (this might be unrelated, but I just want you all to have as much info as possible).
Then, yesterday, my Mac was acting funny. I was trying to watch netflix and whenever I clicked on a video, BAM the whole screen went black and the sound stopped. But the keyboard stayed lit. The only way to rouse the computer out of this state was to hard shut it off (ten seconds on the power button), and then turn it back on. Except, sometimes when I turned it back on, the screen would go white and play the mac startup musc and then immediately go black again. It was really weird and took me 2-3 times to be successful with even booting up the computer.
I ran a hardware check and it said nothing was wrong. I tried to reinstall the OS but when I entered recovery mode, the internet just wouldn't work. Like... the wi fi found no networks, even though I'm sitting in the exact same spot I was in yesterdat with the entire wi-fi wave filled and it's totally fine.
I don't know what this means. I'm planning on taking my mac in tomorrow, but I was wondering if you guys could help save me some time.

Also really quickly: I don't know where to put this, but the first time my computer reset, the desktop wallpaper turned back to the wallpaper I had before the one I currently have selected. That was really weird/random. Thoughts?

It looks as if there's a problem with your GPU. With a Retina machine, that would mean replacement of just about everything, except, perhaps, the flash storage drive.
Print you kernel panic when you go to your Apple Store appointment. I'm betting that it's a faulty GPU but they will be able to diagnose exactly where the problem lies.

So what happens if you go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General? Are you able to go there at all? If you are able to go there, can you unlock the preferences using the lock in the lower left and your login name and password?
If you are able to do this, can you change the "Allow applications downloaded from:" to Anywhere?

I have no music, two computers, no USB 2 port...and the list goes on and on

I am having several issues with my new 5th generation iPod. I would really appreciate the help of some intelligent soul out there...
First, I installed iTunes to my computer at home, which would did not recognize my iPod, even after I installed a USB 2 port. I proceeded to download songs under the impression that I could download these songs to my iPod from another computer if I entered my apple ID account information. My first question: Can I access the previously downloaded songs on iTunes from another computer and have it downloaded to my iPod?
Secondly, I have installed iTunes at my office computer also, which does recognize my iPod. When I sign on to my account, my previously downloaded songs are not visible in my library. Okay, so I got over that. I downloaded more music from the office computer and when I attempted to download the music to the iPod, I received a message that stated that music could not be downloaded. Basically, the message seem to indicate that the iPod was not registered to the computer. Second question: Is there a way to download music from another computer if you have already established an account with a previous computer?
Now keep in mind that I have read every manual and I have gone through every self-help technical support suggestion. I have contacted the Apple store and the Apple 1-800 number for technical assistance. I did not receive any information that was helpful to me at all, so I am putting my faith in the people...Please help me, all I want to do is listen to my music on my iPod.

When you say download, does this mean you purchased them from the ITMS?
If you did, you need to get the music into iTunes on this computer.
Log into the iTunes Music Store.
Play the song(s). They will now be "authorized" to play on this comuter.
If they are not DRM protected (just ripped from a CD), then no problem. Just add/import these songs into iTunes.

They are not visible because they are on your other computer.

You upload to an iPod.

I understand that your iPad is sporadically becoming unresponsive and the screen is turning black. In this situation, I would recommend reading over and working through the suggested steps in the attached article.

iOS 7 allows you to have your apps update automatically. Therefore, the list of what has been updated stays so that you can see what was updated, when and what the release notes say. It has been suggested that they list has a limit, much like Recents. Currently, there is no way for the user to delete the entries manually. Just try not to look at them.

Set a delay for automatic shutdown of virtual machines

Hallo,
is there a way to set a delay for the automatic shutdown of the guests when the host is shutting down? Just like the automatic startup delay but for the shutdown. The simplest possibility would be to shutdown the guest in the opposite of the startup delay.
I want to shutdown the Exchange Server first and then the rest - the virtual Domain Controller should be shutdown as the last server.
