Automatic shutdown when connnecting to store

Using Windows 8 for I-tunes and when I try to get into the Apple Store, it tries to load and then stops working.  Anyone else get this error?  How do I fix this?  I tried "Repairing" and then I "Removed and Reinstalled" the software with no success.  HELP!

Yes, I have the same problem and cannot find a fix!  Very frustrating!!!

  • Laptop automatic shutdown when Arch startup

    My laptop automatic shutdown while in arch linux startup but i already enable phc_cpufreq undervolt and its voltage and also i added cpufreq_ondemand modules
    but when the time the system boot black background with text  the startup suddenly said temperature max reach 70C and it post shutdown after a 5 second the laptop shutdown...eventhough my pentium -m can reach 100C
    when after waiting about 10 minutes and i turn on the laptop back it go smoothly startup and i can log in to DE.It never shutdown after that even i was using the laptop 100% load but if i restart the pc it will go to startup and post the msg reach temperature max and auto shutdown
    anyone here can help me to disable archlinux kernel or whatever startup process that automatically shutdown the laptop
    phc vids show my correct vids so i got a feeling it only activate if  the system manage go to DE kde and loggin but not when on boot Startup archlinux

    I had this problem on my ThinkPad r51p which would suddenly say critical temperature reached and shut down. It was the same with different linux distros and FreeBSD as well.
    I found no other solution to the problem but writing a small script that I always had running in the background:
    #!/usr/local/bin/php
    <?php
    $slow = FALSE;
    while(1) {
    $temperatur = `cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THM0/temperature | grep temperature | awk ' { print $2 } ' `;
    if((int)$temperatur > 85 && !$slow) {
    // print "Slowing down".$temperatur." C";
    system("echo -n 600000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq"); $slow = TRUE;
    } elseif((int)$temperatur < 80 && $slow) {
    // print "Speeding up".$temperatur." C";
    system("echo -n 1700000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq"); $slow = FALSE;
    sleep(3);
    ?>
    But most likely there is a more elegant solution to it than this.
    And, btw, Do NOT try this script unless you know exactly what your doing and the settings are right for your CPU

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
    Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode
    There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:
     http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
    Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:
    KB05349How to enable, access, and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone
    The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
    Good luck and let us know!

    macbook froze while online. hard shutdown. when it restarted, an error message appeared saying finder shut down unexpectedly containing a message box with a long list of technical jibberish.  after clicking OK that it would send an error report to Apple, the same error message box appeared again and again every time OK was clicked.  Now the macbook will not turn on at all

    If you're able to boot, launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
    Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post "shutdownStall" or "hang" reports.
    If you can't boot in the usual way, try a safe boot. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
    Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
    Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
    Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    During startup, you’ll see a progress bar, and then the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.

  • My Iphone 4s automatically synced when I started ITunes. When it did this it saved all of my pictures on my computer to my phone. How do I reverse this and take the pictures back off of my iPhone?

    My Iphone 4s automatically synced when I started ITunes. When it did this it saved all of my pictures on my computer to my phone. How do I reverse this and take the pictures back off of my iPhone?

    Yeah, my iPhone 4S sometimes manages to connect to wifi for about 10 minutes now. I think there is a problem related with the antenna because when the phone heats up, the WIFI stops working. I had a similar experience with my older iPhone 4S which I bought from the U.S.A. (unlocked version) but after a couple of days, WIFI icon grayed out and I wasn't able to switch it on and off. Now the phone I'm using was bought in Turkey from a local carrier, (it's not locked I suppose) I'm planning on upgrading to an iPhone 6 and I will try to get my 4S repaired. I hope it is something related with software rather than hardware. Because a friend of mine sent his phone to the local Apple store to be fixed, they sent the phone back claiming that they had repaired it. But in about 2 days, the phone shut itself down and never turned off back again lol. I don't want to experience the same thing. But anyway, thanks for your answer. At least now I know that I'm not the only one that has this problem .

  • WebLogic Datasources : Automatically Shutdown and Start up

    Hi there,
    I have a problem with my datasources, I have WLST script which shutdown and start automatically some datasources in my environment, all of them in my crontab !
    Follow exactly my script !
    [weblogic@wls_server restartDS]$ cat shutdownDS1.py | more
    connect('weblogic','password','t3://server:10000')
    domainConfig()
    servers = cmo.getServers()
    domainRuntime()
    for server in servers:
    try:
    print 'check ' + server.getName()
    print '/ServerRuntimes/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCServiceRuntime/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCDataSourceRuntimeMBeans/MYDATASOURCE-XA1'
    cd('ServerRuntimes/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCServiceRuntime/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCDataSourceRuntimeMBeans/MYDATASOURCE-XA1')
    objectArray = jarray.array([], java.lang.Object)
    stringArray = jarray.array([], java.lang.String)
    invoke('shutdown', objectArray, stringArray)
    except WLSTException,e:
    print server.getName() + 'is not running.'
    for server in servers:
    try:
    print 'check ' + server.getName()
    print '/ServerRuntimes/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCServiceRuntime/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCDataSourceRuntimeMBeans/MYDATASOURCE-XA2'
    cd('ServerRuntimes/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCServiceRuntime/' + server.getName() + '/JDBCDataSourceRuntimeMBeans/MYDATASOURCE-XA2')
    objectArray = jarray.array([], java.lang.Object)
    stringArray = jarray.array([], java.lang.String)
    invoke('shutdown', objectArray, stringArray)
    except WLSTException,e:
    print server.getName() + 'is not running.'
    exit()
    Don´t worry, I have another script which kill XA3 and XA4 datasources as well, so, this way, I have load balancing here !
    It works with CRONTAB !
    The problem here is : Doesn´t matter if datasources are running or not, simply , datasources automatically shutdown and after that, start it! But I would like to improve this, I would like to implement datasource status condition, I mean, when datasource it become overloaded, it kill automatically , this way, I would not use crontab, but another kind of trigger |!
    Did you see this before ?
    I would like to improve this workaround !
    Just keep in mind, me and my team, didn´t discover the root cause yet, so, this automatically datasource restart is a kind of workaround!
    Thanks in advance !
    Edson

    Hmm. what was the problem app?
    Force a shut down by holding the power button for an extended amount.
    Reboot into SafeBoot mode to clear cache files, then reboot as normal.

  • ILOM on X4x00 - temperature monitoring snmp, automatic shutdown

    Hello,
    we run some X4100/X4200 servers. I want to monitor temperatures via ILOM's snmp interface. Unfortunately I get all kind of information with snmpwalk like sensor typ, hysteresis, unit, .... except the current sensor readings. Did anybody succeed in reporting temperatur sensor readings via snmp with ILOM ? We run ILOM firmware 1.0, build 6464.
    Additionally I need to verify that some automatic shutdown happens once a system gets too hot. To test I would like to lower the temperature sensor threshold. How can I do this, how can I lower the temperature thresholds in ILOM?
    Any help is greatly apreciated, with kind regards,
    Heinrich

    I'm trying to get thermal shutdowns to happen, too, for a cluster of X4100s managed with N1SM. I don't use SNMP, though. I've found that the ILOMs have good support for IPMI. e.g.
    echo changeme > changeme
    ipmitool -u root -f changeme -H 192.168.1.20 sensor list
    I can set the sensor thresholds with ... sensor thresh fp.t_amb unr 33
    Thresholds set this way don't stick across power-cycling the ILOM, so I'll probably set up a cron job to set them.
    The machine does a hard shutdown a few seconds after a sensor exceeds it's non-recoverable threshold. It never seems to shut down or signal the OS with ACPI or anything when the critical or non-critical (warning) thresholds are exceeded. It does log it in the sensor log, and I think sends an IPMI alert, since N1SM configures the master machine as an alert target. (in the ILOM cli, show /SP/alerts, or something).
    ipmitool(1m) says that the soft shutdown command is done by having ACPI signal the OS that there is a "fatal overtemperature". I had assumed that that was what N1SM used to soft-power-off machines, but it seems that ipmitool ... power soft doesn't actually do anything to Solaris 10u1 amd64. So that's what I need to fix, I guess. I could try booting GNU/Linux from a CD to maybe see the ACPI events and make sure they're really being sent...
    Anyway, I'd love to hear how to get Solaris to soft shutdown on critical temps. If I don't figure it out soon, I'll just lower the "non-recoverable" thresholds, since I'm just running grid engine on nodes provisioned from a flash archive, so I don't need to worry too much about clean shutdowns.

  • Set a delay for automatic shutdown of virtual machines

    Hallo,
    is there a way to set a delay for the automatic shutdown of the guests when the host is shutting down? Just like the automatic startup delay but for the shutdown. The simplest possibility would be to shutdown the guest in the opposite of the startup delay.
    I want to shutdown the Exchange Server first and then the rest - the virtual Domain Controller should be shutdown as the last server.

    Hi,
    Additional, please notice the guest 5 minutes delay shutdown issue, more detail please refer the following article:

  • If the database is shutdown when the applcation is running what is happened

    I am using coneection pool to connect database. If the database is shutdown when the applcation is running what is happened? and how the database will be reconnected.
    I am using MySQL 3.23.52, Tomcat 4.1.12

    Hi,
    Performance of any n-tier system which takes the advantage of connection pooling will be much higher compared to its non-pooled counterpart.
    You have to be very careful while designing/using a connection pool.if u are using pool obtained from a third party,ur control on this pool will be limited - with a few set/get methods.
    A well designed pool wont create much trouble. if u are creating your own pool, basic steps required are
    1.create 'n' number of connections
    2.whenever user requests for a connection, check the validity of the connection- by sendin a simple select query etc- and if its not stale,give this connection to the caller.
    3.if the connection is stale ie it fails the pretest, close all the connections and create the pool afresh.
    4.connections obtained from the pool will be automatically returned back to the pool whenever the applciation call conn.close().
    from ur application, follow the steps for each connection you use (not necessary for a well designed pool)
    1.call ds.getconnection()
    2.check validity of this connection by sending a simple select query.if it works,everything is fine. otherwise something is wrong with connection(not always).
    3.sql exception may occur during the execution of sql query. this can be due to either
    a.database shut down (network related)
    b.database specific - like wrong query,invalid objects etc
    you have to look at the sql state/vendor code (which can be retrieved from the caught exception). the retrieved code will give you a hint why the error (network or database specific).and you can act accordingly.
    Most of the app servers comes with builtin connection pooling module. and handling stale connection is not a difficult task for the programmer. eg: if you are designing applcations for IBM websphere, you can use StaleConnectionException in your code.if this exception is caught,the whole pool is destroyed and created afresh.

    To prevent application windows (not Finder windows) from reopening on restart, simply close all open applications, then use the Get Info dialog "Locked" checkbox to lock this plist (not the lockfile by the same name),
    ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.loginwindow.*.plist
    where "~" is your home folder, and "*" is a string of characters (12 in my case). This plist is where the System stores "reopen windows" info, so the System can't change/delete it if it is locked. Works fine for me and others.

    Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
    Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
    If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
    It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
    If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
    Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
    In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
    Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
    The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.

    Yes, the LaCie drives are inconsistent that way. Mine shut down with my G4 also but not with the Intel (if I do shut down).
    Other older models of Macs show the same inconsistent behavior. The answer is it doesn't matter, you can leave those blue lights on 27/7, the disk is unmounted. Or, if you prefer shut the drive light off by pressing the blue light button.

    I'm not too keen on automatic updates. They can slow down your tasks, and a simple banner ad from a phishing site can make it look like an update is coming, when there is none there, and have you download a trojan horse.   It is best to get it from the source directly.
