Automatic Snapshot File Deletion

Would like to know how to delete snapshot files created during a “push subscription”.
The current path for these are: D:\mssqldata\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\repldata\unc\SQLSERVER_TEST_DB_TEST_DB\2013122700…, 2013122800….
In the replication setup wizard, did not see any options to set the file retention.
Is there a way this can be accomplished without manual intervention.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Where is that located? It's not listed under "SQL Server Agent -> Jobs".
Hello,
The Replication maintenance jobs are created after configure a replication. The jobs should be listed under SQL Server Agent Jobs folder. Please try to click the refresh button of the Jobs folder to check where the jobs are
created successfully.

  • How to recover deleted Hyper-V Snapshot file (.avhd)

    Hi all
    I am working on Hyper-V virtual machines with server2003r2 installed in. The host machine is server 2008r2. I had taken the snapshot (.avhd file) of each VM (.vhd file). Now the snapshot file of a VM is deleted manually (even
    from recycle bin) without remerging and i want to recover it to get the data back.
    Can anyone help me in reovering the deleted snapshot (.avhd) file from the host machine??
    This will be very appreciated.

    Hi,
    I understand your current situation, however, this is a data recovery issue instead of a Hyper-V issue. You can try to use some data recovery tool or
    send your hard disk to some professional data recovery company if you do have important data need to be recovered.
    Personally, I will recommend that you use Recuva, it’s a free tool. I used it recovered thousands of deleted pictures. You can also wait for other
    community to share about this.

  • Afraid automatic update will delete Ipod songs

    My old computer crashed permanently. I got a new one and now want to transfer the songs remaining on my Ipod onto the new computer. The problem is that I am afraid when I connect the Ipod, the automatic update will delete all the songs off it (since the new library is currently blank). And I can't turn off automatic update without plugging in the Ipod, since that icon in the bottom right of Itunes won't appear unless it is plugged in.
    It's a tricky situation because if I get it wrong once, everything is gone. Any suggestions?

    Welcome, Paulli, to the Apple Discussions!
    I'll answer your question in just a minute but first I've got to say that I hope you take this as an opportunity to learn a very important lesson: Back up your iTunes library as soon as you can after resolving this situation because right now you are only one glitch of your iPod away from losing your music entirely.
    Many people come to the Discussions having lost their music in just such situations and, believe me, it's not a happy time for anyone.
    If you place any importance on your playlists and the data they depend on, you will want to include your iTunes Library files in your back-up regimen as well.
    Anyways, that's the lecture. The answer to your problem should be found in this post:

    Good Luck! But once your music is back on your computer, remember:
    Your music is valuable - please back it up!

  • How can I read the printer snapshot file printers.xml

    How can I read the printer snapshot file printers.xml

    XML files are typically viewed using a web browser.
    Open the XML file and the default program should open it automatically.  If you are prompted to select a program, use the option that lets you choose a program and brows through the directories for your browser (for example, use Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.).
    If need be, you should be able to right-click the file and select open with to choose the program to open it with.
    There are other XML viewers out ther, but web browsers are typically the default as XML is a web language.

  • Removing Snapshot Files

    Hi All,
    One of my VM's was written off by the Panda AV issue. I have restored the affected VM and all is well.
    However, I am looking to clean things up a little. And have a load of snapshot files from before the restore which were taken as part of the resolution process.
    These snapshots don't show under the vm itself, so I though I could delete all the snapshots though HyperV manager, and manually delete what is left in the snapshot directory.
    When I try this I get a file in use error, so left as is. Restarted Hyper V service and tried again with same result.
    Anybody know the best way to do this, as there is a fair amount of GB to remove.
    Kind Regards
    Rich
    Richard Tarlton

    Considering that you ran into some issue with your AV software and you performed some restoration, these files could very well be in use and you just don't realize it yet.
    Each AVHD file is a differencing disk, so they are all linked together.
    You need to 'inspect' each virtual disk beginning with the one that is configured to make sure that you are not using any differencing disks.
    Only after you verify that the disks are indeed not being used by a VM can you safely delete them manually - once you determine the process that is locking them.
    If it is the VMMS that is locking the virtual disk snapshots, then Hyper-V thinks it needed to do something with these disks - use the Hyper-V event logs to figure out what it thinks it is trying to do (  Applications and services - Microsoft - windows
    - Hyper-V )

    I have an iMac purchased in May 2011.  OSX Lion 10.7.3.  I deleted backup file from the external hard drive which operates from Time Machine.
    Now, the trash can will not empty some of the files deleted from the backup harddrive.
    The trash contains-- File folder: "Core Services" which contains a locked file: "boot.efi".
    It will not delete.
    How do I get the trash can empty of these files?

    Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
    In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

  • File.delete() and File.deleteOnExit() doesn't work consistently..

    I am seeing some odd behavior with trying to delete files that were opened. Usually just doing new File("file.txt").delete() would work. However, in this case, I have created an input stream to the file, read it in, saved it to another location (copied it), and now I am trying to delete it.
    The odd thing is, in my simple application, the user can work with one file at a time, but I move "processed" files to a lower pane in a swing app. When they exit it, it then archives all the files in that lower pane. Usually every file but the last one opened deletes. However, I have seen odd behavior where by some files don't delete, sometimes all of them wont delete. I tried the deleteOnExit() call which to me should be done by the JVM after it has released all objects such that they don't matter and the JVM ignores any object refs and directly makes a call (through JNI perhaps) to the underlying OS to delete the file. This doesn't work either.
    I am at a loss as to why sometimes some files delete, and other times they don't. In my processing code, I always close the input stream and set its variable to null. So I am not sure how it is possible a reference could still be held to the object representing the file on disk.

  • File.delete() not working properly

    Hi Forum!!
    I am trying with the below code :
    File file = new file("path");
    try{
    if(file.exists())
    System.+gc+();
    file.delete();
    System.+out+.println("Control in delete trx file after deletion"+ file.exists());
    }catch(SecurityException se){
    String msg= "Delete trx file if 3gttz file created : IO Problems";
    Log.+error+(msg, se);
    }file.exists() returns false But I when I check file, it still exhists with content 0 bytes .
    Is there a way to remove the entire file from the directory rather than deleting only the
    contents ? Need not to tell I did my initial search to solve the problem.
    Thanks

    Okay, i have 2 bugs with maverick.  First, when I delete a file within a window, the files deletes but the preview doesn't delete until I close the window and reopen it.  Second, I work on a network of computers and the search feature is now buggy...  When I search for a file, A) it asks me if it's a name, or it wont produce anything, and B), its slower than in prior OS versions and in some instances I have to toggle to a different directory and go back to my original directory in the search: menu bar or the search wont produce anything...  Very buggy.

    It appears to me that network file access is buggy in Maverick.
    In my case I have a USB Drive attached to airport extreme (new model) and when I open folders on that drive they all appear empty. If I right click and I select get info after a few minutes! I get a list of the content.
    It makes impossible navigate a directory tree.
    File access has been trashed in Maverick.
    They have improved (read broken) Finder. I need to manage a way to downgrade to Lion again.

  • How do i make firefox automatically open a file. "Do this automatically with files like this from now on." does NOT work.

    I have firefox set to Open .wav files with VLC and i have the check box marked to "Do this automatically for files like this from now on." But every time i click download for a .wav voicemail from gmail, i get the same dialog box. I just want firefox to hand the downloaded file to VLC and play it. I don't want to have to click anything after i click the download link. Isn't that action what i'm telling firefox to do after i mark the checkbox with "Do this automatically with file like this from now on." ? Isn't that implied with my selection of the box? How can i fix this?i want to click a "download" link for a .wav voice mail in Gmail and have it automatically play in VLC without any further interaction from me.

    No it's saving the preferences and the check box remains checked from session to session. It will even continue to ask me to what to do with the file even in the same session when i try to download the same file again 5 seconds after i downloaded it the first time.

  • Is there a way to automatically detect and delete duplicate photos in a library

    I just imported a load of photos into my main iPhoto '11 Library from several older MAC's Photo Libraries. Despite repeatedly using the "Don't Import Duplicate Photos" dialogue box, I have many duplicate photos. Is there a way to automatically detect and delete Duplicate Photos?
    I also have iPhoto Library Manager installed on my MAC, but cannot seem to locate on it anything that would do this.
    I have over 4,000 photos, so would really appreciate some help here! Thanks in advance...

    duplicate annihilator - http://www.brattoo.com/propaganda/
    And NEVER import an iPhoto library into another iPhoto library - doing so des not work and creates massive duplication
    if you still have all of the original iPhoto libraries I recommend you drag the bad one you created to the desktop (delete it later when everythin has successfully been completed) and start over usin iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  to merge the libraries

  • Can I create an automatic custom file save name/path once I click digital signature field?

    Hi,
    What I'm trying to do is once I click on a digital signature and I add my digital signature it requires me to sign it.  I want to know if there's a workaround to where once I click it it will automatically save to a file name based on a field and to a pre-determined directory?  Say, if I want it to save to a users desktop.  My supervisor is wanting to eliminate his employees having to change the file name to the format he wants and selecting the save location and make it automatic for everyone to have it saved at the same location on their computers.
    Will likely have everyone in the office create a folder named 'Leave Requests'.  This will be the location on the desktop where all these automatically saved files would go.  The custom file name would be Emp_Name + "Leave Request" + Date where Emp_Name and Date are 2 variables that are user inputted field values on the form.  I have looked around but there doesn't seem to be too much on this one.  I do realize I can't create a custom 'Save As' location and path name but I have read a little about creating a custom automatic save feature and wanted to know if I could implement that.  Here is the information I read about:

  • Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?

    My work involves preparing images for printing lightboxes and window installations.  My clients require to pre-approve the photos before printing.
    I usually save my files as psd but since the files are very large in this format I usually save another copy as a jpg file that has a much smaller file size.  This makes it possible for me to add these to a presentation and and send them to my client.
    Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?  Or do I still have to do this manually?

    If you save the document manually as a PSD file in Phtoshop not from within an Action, Script, Plugin or Droplette.  You may be able to write a Photoshop that would do as save as Jpeg,  And you should be able trigger its execution by setting up a Script Save event using the Script event manager.  When You do a manual save  the script should be triggered.  I wrote may be able to for I have never tried to write that script or set up a Script Manager Save event.  I have only use open events.
