Automatic Sound Clip on Welcome Page

How do i get a sound file to automatically play when someone opens the welcome page?

Yes. But your must be mindful of the total file size.
Most Internet viewers will skip your page if they must wait for a huge file to download so you must make your QuickTime audio file as small as practical.
Cut out the "stereo" to reduce it by 50%. Cut the bit rate from typical MP3 from 128 bit rate to 64 (half again as large) or use MIDI (.mid) files for a sound file.
An example from my only iWeb 1 page:

  • How to make Safari automatically open .ram sound clips?

    When I click on, say a a sound clip to preview music, Safari just downloads the file but does not automatically play it, so I have to click on the file for it to be played by RealPlayer instead of this happening automatically after the download. The "open "safe" files after downloading" box is checked in preferences.
    Using Safari 2.03 and RealPlayer 10.0.0 with Tiger

    Safari probably has Open Safe Files disabled in preferences as a security caution. Open Safari's Preferences and click on the General icon. Check Open Safe Files if you want Safari to open files automatically. However, if you do this, make sure you have installed the most recent updates using Software Update because the last security update fixed a couple of exploits related to malicious files.

  • Damsel In Distress: Embedding Sound Clips in Fillable Forms

    I embedded sounds (WAV files) in my professional 7.0 pdf with both the sound tool and the button tool. I also customized these with my own icon (JPG and PNG images). PROBLEM: once I open my pdf as a fillable form to add comment boxes, all the sound clips disappear, both icons and sounds. QUESTION: how can I embed sounds in my fillable forms? Thank you!

    Thank you, but without LiveCycle Designer where does Acrobat allow me to create a fillable form that my user can submit data back to me via email. Again, I am embedding my sound files in Acrobat, but once I select the Advance Menu|Forms|Make Form Fillable in Adobe Designer, it automatically opens LiveCycle Designer and my embedded sound files disappear. Any other suggestions are welcomed!

  • Acrobat PDF Portfolio - Not Saving my Welcome Page or Header

    For some reason, I can't get my Welcome Page or Header to save when I'm creating a PDF Portfolio.
    What am I missing? It shows up fine when I create it but then I save and close and reopen and they aren't there...
    Please Help!

    You don't mention a version, but this may be a known issue if you are in 9.4. Take a look at the thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/793948 and see if the situation you are experiencing sounds similar and if the work around posted by Josh_Corey (toward the bottom of the thread, posted Jan 31, 2011) resolves the problem.
    Please let us know either way.

  • How to Download Sound Clips in Flash Player 9?

    Some of our audio book publishers use the Adobe Flash Player
    9 to offer sound clips. I am quite familiar with how to download,
    to our audio books Web store, other types of sound clips such as
    wma and mp3 but haven't figured out how to download the Flash
    Player 9 files.
    I would appreciate advice on how to download the Flash Player
    9 sound clips.

    I recently found YouTube had flaged a video for containing a "third party" sound clip.  All clips I've used in videos for YouTube have come directly from Final Cut Pro X.  Any idea if the sound clips are Fair Use?  I'm not sure how to repsond to YouTube and don't want to get a mark against my account due to this.

    You can pretty much forget about monetizing that specific video.
    [Okay... I'm going to ramble now...]
    To avoid problems with youtube, you need to post a copyright (like this: @2013 by Your Name) on the video (I recommend within the first 10 seconds) -- and you better have it *right*. If you use other audio and video, as long as you have secured the proper permissions for use, you can still claim a copyright to the video you post on YouTube -- it is your creation (but it better not be a single clip of somebody else's work being passed off as something you did -- just to be clear -- your videos need to have original content that you created in order to justify the © you put on it. If you use *other stuff* as long as it's *with* permissions, it's still your video.) [If your video is going to be monetized -- make absolutely sure you have that permission for *commercial* use! Quite a lot of sources will specify that their materials *cannot* be used for any commercial use without further permissions, if at all. With Apple Loops (pro apps music and sound) you do have that express permission to be used in commercial works as long as it follows the EULA. More below.)]
    You also need to specify the music and/or sound effects are "licensed from Apple Computer and used with permission" and you might as well state they are "made with Apple Loops". YouTube understands the EULA of the Apple Pro software (Logic, STP, FCP/FCPX, etc...) -- but even Apple licensed all that stuff from outside sources. Apple just takes care of paying "them" for it in advance so you don't have to (you buy it with the cost of the software license.)
    You cannot use any of the "music beds" by themselves, in their entirety (all those nice long demo pieces everybody likes so much and you hear several times a day on [local] TV commercials). The EULA actually specifically states this (although you might have to read it two or three times until it becomes clear...LOL). Even loops are not to be released "as is", in their entirety, in any "derivative work". So, basically, make sure some other sound is mixed in with it (if it's music, add drums or other percussion, harmony, or duck it under talking, etc...)
    The point is, no matter what audio source you have, if it is *music* (or foley) and EVEN IF you are the creator of that music or sound effect, you need to specifically put it in writing IN the video (not in the description). You need to reference the source (e.g.: stock footage by BottledVideo.com) and state it's being used with (or by) permission. [According to YouTube: I have copyright infringed MYSELF!!! just for leaving out all this *stuff* from my subsequent videos (music that I composed and performed myself on guitar... I was livid... but it stuck!).]
    I can pretty much guarantee that within minutes of  posting your video (if it is monetized) -- some real live person at youtube puts eyes on that video to make sure it is properly "signed". I can tell by how long it takes for the monetize checkmark to go from dark to light green -- usually less than 10 minutes.
    If your video is not monetized, and it's not a blatant violation, they probably will let you off with a warning, tell you that you don't need to do anything "right now" and it won't count as a mark against you... If it IS monetized, it won't be - they'll turn it right off and your chances of winning a challenge are almost 0 (unless you can PROVE you own the material -- and  I have won a challenge -- see * below);  and you will probably see a "Copyright Notices" (or similar) item in the menu on your channel settings. If you can redo the video - pull the old one, put in the new info and re-up it.  It's a royal PITA, but in this day and age, it's a necessity.
    All videos destined for youtube should be treated as mini motion pictures and be prepared as such with full "disclosures" in titling... Welcome to  21st Century Pox [This statement is not meant to be derogatory to 21st Century Fox or imply any association or criticism or slander, and is only to be intended to be received as a parody on a common phrase that is currently still in use... No words were harmed in the formation of this pun.]
    Get the point? YouTube tries to tell everybody -- but they've done a pretty lousy job of doing it. It's taken me, oh, I guess a year or so to learn to "behave" after wandering through a mire of confusing information from too many different sources -- and even if I am the sole producer of 100% of all the content in the video, I *still* have to place that © and "commit" it; it is *not* taken on faith.  I actually had to go back and reread all my licenses and interpret the legalese to figure it out. It would have been simpler if they just put it: Your video is a miniature professional production. Make sure it includes all titling to reflect all participants -- *just like you'd see in a modern major motion picture or a major broadcast television series* -- I think everyone would pretty much understand what that involves. You don't have to get quite that extreme, just cover you bases and your a©©.
    I tried to cover it all... but I'm pretty sure I haven't... so... good luck!
    *How I won my challenge with an Apple Loops composition:
    1) the music, even though using "canned" loops, was an original complex composition (I'll argue theory with anyone about this... it will be based on limited sets and recombinants as well as the theory of instrumentation and timing. In other words - I massage the heck out of loops until they don't sound anything like the originals. I almost never use audio loops -- always MIDI.) [BTW - this was another instance of copyright infringing myself - I had used the same music in a previous video I produced a year or so earlier... when I, like you, thought I was "free" to use the clips as I saw fit.]
    2) the music I used in the video was originally created in Logic and I made sure the ID3 tags were filled in with my name and copyright information
    3) I have a YouTube Associated Website (think this is a "partner" thing... and google "sanctioned") but if you see it, make sure you associate your domain. [I think you might be able to create a Google+ account and associate a domain that way if it's not part of your YouTube settings.]
    4) I uploaded the original mp3 with the ID3 tags to my associated domain.
    5) in the challenge, I 1) attached the original mp3 (w/ID3 tags); 2) gave youtube a link to the copy on my associated website for *verification* that the files belonged to ME; (and they already had the URL to the video in question -- a basic 3 point verify.)
    It worked. They accepted the verifcation. (And this was the first challenge I've been able to win.) [This was very recent. What about the others? I might get a chance to complete the verifications, but I know for some, I've used up my challenges. The only other option is to pull them and redo them...]
    One last word of advice: It does not pay to get "huffy", indignant, or righteous with YouTube in a challenge. They don't care.  <-- read that again a lot more slowly...  They have their own behinds to take care of — and your video (and/or account) lives (or dies) by their grace. If you read that and infer that I have been those things, then yes, I have... to absolutely no avail... even though I thought I was right (to the best understanding I had at the time) — they have rules. Be respectful. In general, they're pretty relaxed about all this even though it might not look that way to many users. Once you get the rules down, everything goes a lot easier... even if it is a little more work. You have to take responsibility for your own work.

  • Making a sound clip sync with rest of movie.

    So I solved this problem and realized I posted it under AS3 and it should have been here.  So I figured it may help somone.  All I did was change the setting to "Stream" under the properties panel for each sound clip!
    Making sound sync with my controls
    Hello all,
    This is one of my first flash movies so bear with my inexperience!
    I've made a slide show with three pieces of audio that are set up to play with certain images.  So you can imagine when the video is paused but the sound continues playing everything gets a bit messed up.
    I have each audio on a different layer and none of them overlap, just fade in/out to one another.
    EDIT:  Almost forgot, so how can I get the audio to stop/play along with the rest of the flash file when play/pause is clicked on.  And can I skip forword/backward 15frames in the audio clip as I am doing with the images?
    Here is the AS3 for the back button (gtmf) and foreword button (gtpf)
    stop();
    mc_content.stop();
    gtmf.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gtmfs);
    function gtmfs(event:MouseEvent) :void {
    gotoAndStop(this.currentFrame-15)
    mc_content.gotoAndStop(this.currentFrame-15)
    pp.gotoAndStop(1);
    gtpf.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gtpfs);
    function gtpfs(event:MouseEvent) :void {
    gotoAndStop(this.currentFrame+15)
    mc_content.gotoAndStop(this.currentFrame+15)
    pp.gotoAndStop(1);
    The play/pause button is a movieclip symbol (pp) with two frames, each with their own AS3.
    Play button (gogo)
    stop();
    gogo.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goplaying);
    function goplaying(event:MouseEvent) :void {
    MovieClip(root).play();
    MovieClip(root).mc_content.play();
    gotoAndStop(2);
    Pause button (halthalt)
    stop();
    halthalt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, haltplaying);
    function haltplaying(event:MouseEvent) :void {
    MovieClip(root).stop();
    MovieClip(root).mc_content.stop();
    gotoAndStop(1);

    Yep, ain't that the truth....
    Along with the randomness of the HTML elements in general, the relationship between the Flash and HTML are similarly 'independent'.
    I was just wondering if there were some little tricks or methods used by web guys these days, as it seems like clever new techniques or new capabilities in CSS or Flash pop up from time to time.
    Very odd, though...  The interface graphics are very light, yet sometimes the page takes a few seconds to show, and the Flash appears right away (the opposite of what I'd normally expect, when things 'go wrong').
    I still don't get why the SWF shows up (when the rest of the table doesn't), if the rule is true that a table won't show up unless all the content is available.
    Is there some sort of weird exception if the content of a cell is Flash?

  • PowerPoint sound clip from my iTunes library

    I know this is a basic question, but I'm trying to insert a sound clip into a PowerPoint presentation. I want to use a song from my iTunes library, but I can't figure out how to do that without importing the song onto a CD. I'd rather not have to insert a CD every time I play my PowerPoint presentation.
    How do I either pull directly from iTunes for my sound clip or save that clip to my desktop? I've been able to insert sound clips I already have on my desktop.
    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions Chris
    This forum is dedicated to the integrated application, AppleWorks. Your question seems to be more about iTunes than even PowerPoint. I suggest posting your question in the iTunes forum. Other questions about Microsoft Office would get more specific answers in Microsoft's forums at http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=newsgroups.

  • Download of sound clips to offline G4's

    Hey everyone - I'm a teacher and we're currently using Garage Band in class for a broadcasting class. I'd like to update Garage Band with the latest sound clips, effects and what not, but our Macs are not connected to the network. Is there a way to download the updates and save to a flash drive then install? There are a lot of greyed out effects that the students would like to use! Thanks!

  • Lost images/sound clips/video when changing langua...

    i've never had this problem or any similar problems in the 4 months i've had this phone. today i changed the language from english to tagalog (pilipino), and when the phone restarted it had deleted all of my images (bar one), videos and sound clips (bar one). that's all i've noticed it has deleted so far, my messages and contacts are still there. i've never had problems with it prior to this happening... is there any way of recovering the data?

    I've also got same problem. Interestingly enough, background music added to DVDs title page plays OK on the burned CD (everything previews perfectly). However, go to 'play' the burned DVD, and while the video is there, the audio tracks are silent. Source material is an iMove project, and audio tracks are all AIFF files.
    Also tried physically burning the DVD with Disk Utility. DVD burns OK, but on playback (both on home stereo DVD player, and on Mac), title slide and background music works fine, but after selecting to play the movie, the audio tracks are all gone... only silence This is with burning directly from iDVD, or by saving the project as an img file, and then burning it to DVD via Disk Utility.
    Any clues appreciated!

  • How to remove a black border box that continously tabs to each field automatically till end of web page; restarts to top of page, cannot stop this box. Scroll bar cannot controlled with mouse, returns auto to top of scroll slide, never remaining at bottom

    how to remove a black border box that continously tabs to each field automatically till end of web page; restarts to top of page, cannot stop this box. Scroll bar cannot be controlled with mouse, scroll bar returns automatically to the top of scroll slide every time I move the bar to the bottom of the scale.  Also, there's a rectangular text box (with black background and white text) that is always on the desktop that emulates a typed text, HTML, or cmd function.

    The first two problems (box cycling from element to element on page, scroll bar returning to top) can be caused by a stuck (or defective) Tab key on the keyboard. Such damage can be caused by a liquid spill; just one tiny droplet is enough to short a wafer switch under one key.
    The last issue (black box, white text - sounds sorta like a debugger window) I haven't seen, but could be caused by something similar.
    To check for that, try using a different keyboard. If you're using a wireless keyboard, turn it off and see if the oddities stop.

  • Changing a link in welcome page

    Hi,
    I'd like to change one link in the welcome page (not in the left hand menu). For example changing the BBPSC01for BBPSC03 or BBPSC02.
    I can't see nothing in the roles about, it is neccesary to modify the template??
    I'm running a SRM 5 with integrated ITS,
    Does anybody know how I can achieve this.

    Hi
    <b>
    Please read this carefully.</b>
    Define Roles
    Check whether the roles delivered by SAP meet your requirements. If not, you can create new roles and assign transactions to them. We recommend that you copy standard roles and tailor them to your requirements.
    All users assigned to a respective role are then allowed to carry out the transactions. If required, you can refine the authorization check on the tab page Authorizations.
    Note: You do not assign the users in this step. On creation the composite roles are automatically assigned to the users. You can change the roles using the Web function Manage Users.
    <b>Standard settings</b>
    <u>SAP supplies the following single roles:</u>
    SAP_EC_BBP_EMPLOYEE (for employees)
    SAP_EC_BBP_PLANNER (for component planners)
    SAP_EC_BBP_PURCHASER (for purchasers)
    SAP_EC_BBP_OP_PURCHASER (for operational purchasers)
    SAP_EC_BBP_ST_PURCHASER (for strategic purchasers)
    SAP_EC_BBP_MANAGER (for managers)
    SAP_EC_BBP_BIDDER (for bidders working with bid invitations)
    SAP_EC_BBP_VENDOR (for vendors and service providers)
    SAP_EC_BBP_RECIPIENT (for the central goods recipient)
    SAP_EC_BBP_ADMINISTRATOR (for system administrators)
    SAP_EC_BBP_COMPANY_ADMIN (for the company administrator in an Exchange environment)
    SAP_EC_BBP_SECRETARY (for the purchasing assistants)
    SAP_EC_BBP_ACCOUNTANT (for accountants)
    SAP_EC_BBP_CONTENT_MANAGER (for managers of the SAP Content Workbench)
    SAP_EC_BBP_CREATEUSER (to request a user for initial logon)
    SAP_EC_BBP_CREATEVENDOR (to request a user for initial logon)
    /CCM/CATALOG_MANAGER (for catalog managers - SAP Catalog Content Management)
    /CCM/CATALOG_APPROVER (for content approvers - SAP Catalog Content Management)
    SAP_EC_SUS_ADMIN_PURCHASER (for purchasing administrators - SAP Supplier Self-Services)
    SAP_EC_SUS_BIDDER (for bidders - SAP Supplier Self-Services)
    SAP_EC_SUS_DISPATCHER (for dispatchers - SAP Supplier Self-Services)
    SAP_EC_SUS_INVOICER (for invoicers - SAP Supplier Self-Services)
    SAP_EC_SUS_ORDER_PROCESSOR (for order processors - SAP Supplier Self-Services)
    SAP_EC_SUS_MANAGER (for managers - SAP Supplier Self-Services)
    SAP_EC_SUS_SERVICE_AGENT (for service agents - SAP Supplier Self-Services)
    Note: Information about using SAP Catalog Content Management is available at the end of this document.
    Note: Information about single SUS roles is available at the end of this document.

    <b>Activities
    If you want to create your own composite role, proceed as follows:
    1. Enter a name for the composite role and create it.
    2. Enter a description and save it.
    3. On the Roles tab page, enter the relevant single roles that you want to assign to the composite role.
    4. On the Menu tab page, import the transactions of the single roles and structure the menu as desired.
    5. Save your entries.
    Note: Before a user logs on for the first time, you must generate the authorization profile for the single roles on the Authorizations tab page and execute the user synchronization onthe User tab page.
    Note: For the roles purchaser, operational purchaser, and purchasing assistant, the Extended Form user interface is available as standard in the shopping cart. This enables temporary staff to be ordered, for example.
    For the other roles, the Wizard (BBPSC 02) user interface is available as standard in the shopping cart. You can replace this with the Simplified Form (BBPSC 03) user interface.
    If you want to replace BBPSC 02 with BBPSC 03, proceed as follows:
    1. Call transaction PFCG.
    2. Select composite role SAP_BBP_STAL_EMPLOYEE.
    3. Switch to change mode.
    4. Choose the Menu tab page.
    5. Import the menu.
    6. Choose Merge.
    The folder for newly-added menu options appears in the menu.
    7. Select BBPSC03.
    8. Move the entry to the relevant place.
    9. Delete BBPSC02.
    10. Delete the folder for newly-added menu options.
    11. Save your entries.
    12. Choose the User tab page.
    13. Execute the user synchronization.
    If you want to extend single roles, proceed as follows:
    1. Call transaction PFCG.
    2. Select the single role, for example, SAP_EC_BBP_EMPLOYEE.
    3. Switch to change mode.
    4. Choose the Menu tab page.
    5. Choose Assign transaction.
    6. Enter the transaction code (such as BBPSC01).
    7. Choose Assign transactions.
    8. Move the entry to the relevant place.
    9. Delete any other transactions.
    10. Save your entries.
    11. Choose the Authorizations tab page.
    12. Choose Change authorizations.
    13. Save your entries and generate the new authorization profile.
    14. Choose the User tab page.
    15. Execute a complete user synchronization.
    16. Perform steps 1-13 of the section above (replace BBPSC03).
    Note: In transaction PFCG, you can decide whether the side menu for composite roles should be shown or hiddenas default. Select thePersonalization tab page, the key is SPERS_BROWSERMENU. The side menu will only be hidden, however, if this is set in all the composite roles assigned to the user. The status that is selected and saved by the user overrides the default setting.
    Choose Save.</b>
    Hope this will help.
    Please reward suitable points.

    I have same problem with PSE 8. I am running this on widnows XP. It was working fine. With no obvious reason,
    it started crashing when edit window tries to load up from the welcom screen. The organizer link does not crash but if edit selected from the organizer window, again edit window opens for short seconds and then crashes with message "Adobe has detected that the application Adobe Photoshop Elements has unexpectedly quit"
    It is a very frustrating experience. I can not finish my project that I started. I hope users or program developers have an answer.

  • Sound clip not playing on runover

    how come the sound clip is not playing when i run over the homepage button here?
    thanks.

    I noticed that your site is asp driven... Does the video work when you upload the "deploy to web" folder content to the server? (from a simple html file --  I usually rename the "main.html" to "index.html" and point the browser to the web folder containing it)
    >>>>I checked out your site.  i see the problem you mentioned, but I have
    no idea what might be behind it. . .  perhaps there needs to be an
    autostart and loop function added to the video in each state.
    I finally narrowed down the issue... This must be a bug!
    It turnes out the video will play throughout all PAGES / STATES only when it starts playing on the DEFAULT PAGE. Since my loop video was starting on the second page, it would stop when you go to any other page or use button -- even though it was marked to loop. The fix was to put the video outside of the vewing area on DEFAULT page. Now it works.
    Btw. The autostart & loop functions reamain the same throughout all the states. They can not be changed for each state individually (at least in this beta)
