Automatic switch between personal and business mod...

Hello,
I appreciate particularly the personal / business home screen content differentiation on the E55. My wife uses E75 and appraises it as well. We have a problem though: it is quite boresome to have to switch manually when you leave or come home.
Does anyone know that can be done automatically, for example during business days and hours ?

Unfortunately no.
My suggestion is to try both and stick with the one that looks best on the most channels that you regularly watch. I have a 720p LCD but the 1080i setting in my DVR provides the best HD picture by just a little bit.
Also, you have an option you can set for the SD channels (SD Override). I prefer OFF, which means that the SD channels are sent to my TV also using 1080i. This results in a slightly worse SD picture than using 480i or 480p, but eliminates the extremely annoying 2-4 second delay (HDMI re-sync) when switching between HD and SD channels. Again, I suggest you try the various settings and pick the one that you like best (or hate less?)

It sounds like you are not flipping the side switch but the phone keeps muting and unmuting by itself.
I would start by toggling the side switch manually to mute, then unmute. Then evaluate it for a bit. If the issue persists, reset the phone with this article and test the issue.

Automatic switch between 720p and 1080i

I just got FiOS installed today and as I was going through the menu, I noticed that for the video resolution, you are forced to pick a format. Is there a way to set it up so that the STB automatically picks the resolution that the broadcaster has chosen? I don't want to watch everything in 1080i or 720p. I'd like to watch it as the channel has chosen to send the signal

Automatically switching between Visualization and Music Video modes

While playing back a mixture of both music (mp3s) and music videos is it possible to automatically have the video output switch between the visualizer for mp3s and the music videos themselves?
Any help would be appreciated.

I see about 30-80 MB memory usage increase while switching to fullscreen and it is falling back while switching back to normal mode.
I think the "freeing" of the memory is to agressive and produces such "lags."
@Adobe: This should be optimized with the next versions.
Update:
With the Plash Player plugin (Firefox Nightly/Opera Next) it is worse and with Active-X (IE9) it seems to be ok.

Switch between Edit and Display mode in an input layout?

Hi,
I want to create a button in my planning layout which is input ready, that makes it able to change between display mode and edit mode.
I'm on BI 7.0. And I am using Analyzer/Workboook.
Is this possible using 'SET_DATA_ENTRY_MODE' command?
If Yes, Where should I put this command ? I can't find this in Button Properties.
Please explain in detail.

Hi,
This is the correct command. In the button properties, you need to select 'command via command wizard'. There you should select this command and customize it according to your requirement (on/off).

Function keys - Boot Camp switching between Mac and PC mode

My question pertains to running Windows on a Mac computer using Boot Camp and following the instructions, listed below, to enable the function keys while running Windows.
If I have set the keyboard to "use all F1 etc..." do I have to continually reset the keyboard function from Windows to Mac and visa versa each time I launch the computer in Windows or Mac OS. Or is the setting only applied to the keyboard when I am running Boot Camp as a Windows system?
While running on the Windows side, right click the Boot Camp icon in the lower right hand corner of the task bar
Select Boot Camp Control Panel
Click on the Keyboard tab at the top of the dialog box
Make sure there is a check mark in the box that says, “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys”
When finished, click OK

It's function and features is set by them, not your phone.

MacBook Pro won't automatically switch between internal speakers and display audio

I have a MacBook Pro that connects to a LED Cinema display. It used to automatically switch between internal speakers and display audio when plugged in to the display but won't anymore. I have to manually change it in System Preferences --> Sound. Does anyone know how to make it do that again?

I just want to add, I have the same problem, and just want to help raise awareness of it.
1st, the problem only started recently (have been using the Thunderbolt display since it was released), I did not have this problem, and noticed it beginning only in the last month. (since January)
2nd, My particular setup, includes a hard drive attached to the firewire port on the back of the Thunderbolt Display (so, I am wondering if anyone else experienced this problem with a firewire drive being connected).
     My full setup:
          Macbook Air (2011)
         Thunderbolt display
          Western Digital drive (attached to firewire of display)
3rd, If I go into settings, what I will see is the "Display Audio" is selected (but no sound coming out),
If I then select "Internal Speakers," a buffered "history" of all the sounds I did not hear is then played (pretty funny actually) - for example, if I sent mail, adjusted the volume, and started playing a song.... it immediately plays all those sounds when selecting "Internal Speakers"
4th, If i then select "Display Audio" - it does nothing
5th, what I have to do, to resolve this is: eject all my hard drives, disconnect the thunderbolt cable, then reconnect the thunderbolt cable, and everything works as normal.

Switch between speakers and headset on X-

I've got X-Fi Fatalty FPS edition and desperately need to find a way to switch between headset and speakers. Especially since I use teamspeak a lot in games and don't want my speakers to echo while I'm talking.
There is an option to mute speakers when the headphone jack is connected, but that requires me to reconnect the headphone plug each time I want to use them.
There must be a switch to turn only the speakers off manually as well?
With Soundblaster Li've! Digital, this problem was easily solved by switching between digital mode on and off, as my speakers were connected digitally and my headset on analog.
But with X-Fi, there's no way to turn off the digital speakers alone.
Please help.

Plug your speakers into the soundcard as usual.
use the front mounted headphone socket on the fromt of the X-Fi I/O unit to connect your headset and set the control panel to automatically mute your speakers when the headset is connected. Your speakers will mute when the headset is plugged in and all you have to do is plug or unplug the headset at the front to switch modes!...Now please do not ask about doing the same with your mike connector!! see other thread by me!! p.s creative do ship a /4" to 3.5mmm adapter with the card.

ADSL keeps switching between 'fast' and 'interleav...

I wonder if you could tell me if there is some reason why my line profile / ADSL latency keeps being switched between 'fast' and 'interleaved'. Everytime it is switched from interleaved to 'fast' I lose download speed. It has just changed again today and as a result my download speed has (according to my BT Home Hub Manager) dropped from 6.3MB (yesterday) to 3.2MB (now). Is it possible to have the line profile left as 'interleaved' so that I can enjoy the extra download speed ?

7344 servo motion switching between open and closed loop operation

I have a custom end-of-line test system presently using a 4-axis 7344 servo controller to perform various functional tests on small, brushed DC motors. The system is programmed in C/C++ and uses flex motion functions to control the motor during testing. Motors are coupled to external encoder feedback and third party PWM drives running in closed-loop torque mode from an analog command signal. The system uses all four motion axis channels on the 7344 board to independently and asynchronously test up to four production motors at a time.
In closed-loop mode, the system runs without issue, satisfying the battery of testing protocols executed by this system. I now have a request to add additional test functionality to the system. This testing must be run in open loop mode. Specifically, I need to use my +/- 10v analog output command to my torque drive to send different DAC output levels to the connected motor.drive while monitoring response.
I do not believe the flex motion library or 7344 controller includes functions to easily switch between open and closed loop mode without sending a new drive configuration. I am also under the impression that I cannot reconfigure one (or more) servo controller axis channels without disabling the entire drive. As my system runs each axis channel in an asynchronous manner, any requirement to shutdown all drives each time I change modes is an unworkable solution.
I am open to all ideas that will allow asynchronous operation of my 4 motor testing stations. If the only solution is to add a second 7344 controller and mechanical relays to switch the drive and motor wiring between two separately configured servo channels, so be it. I just want to explore any available avenue before I place a price tag on this new system requirement.

Thank you for the quick response. The 7344 board does an excellent job running my manufacturing motor assemblies through a custom end-of-line tester in closed loop mode. A portion of the performance history and test result couples the motor through a mechanical load and external shaft. The shaft is in contact with a linear encoder that closes my servo loop.
My new manufacturing requirement is to also sample/document how the small DC motor behaves in open loop operation. Your solution is exactly what I need to perform the additional functional tests on the product I am manufacturing. I see no reason why this cannot work. I was originally concerned that I would need to reinitialize the 7344 board after changing axis configuration. Initialization is a global event and impacts all four channels on the 7344 board.
Using flex_config_axis() to change axis configuration on a single channel without disturbing other potentially running axis channels will solve my concern. It will be several weeks before I can return to the manufacturing facility where the 7344-based testing machine is located. I will update this thread once I verify a successful result.

Can't switch between fill and outline.

Here's the problem: I'm on an iMac, new, trying to use illustrator CS5. after using CS3 for a few years. In CS5, if I draw a shape, flat, in the illustration, then try to give it an outline, or change the outline, or do anything with the outline, I can't. If I click on the Shape tools in the toolbox and draw out an oval, for example, I can switch between outline and fill without any problems. Select shape, go to toolbox, select curved arrow for switching from one to the other. That's it. But if I draw a freehand shape, then try it, i can't do it. THIS IS A BIG CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THE APP. GET IT? What is the problem? If it's something I have done, fine, tell me and I'll fix it. I tried calling Adobe support in Bangalore, and it took 30 minutes just to get the problem thoroughly appreciated by the techies. They just couldn't get the idea for half an hour! I had to go over it 4 or 5 times. And they couldn't come up with an answer. they were no help at all. I'm hoping the forum will yield better results. This is pathetic, guys. Your 90-day tech support is a worthless piece of crap, guys. The only tech support we have is this catch-as-catch-can forum. I've been using Illustrator since 1987, (illustrator 88) believe it or not, it's true. And I've always been able to get tech support to cure the ills. Not any more. Dear Monika and Mylenium: I figured out part of the problem, but not the solution: The shape I had drawn -and coudn't switch between fil and stroke on-is one I had already done a gradient mesh on, too. I had later abandoned the gradient mesh by using the option key to delete mesh lines, but that didn't take the shape all the way back to its original flat state. So it wasn't a plain drawn shape any more. So how do I release the gradient mesh to get back to a flat shape? I'm also having trouble keeping the shapes in RGB or CMYK mode-they keep defaulting back to greyscale. Could that also be a symptom of using gradient mesh? Note: I'm using gradient mesh for the very first time now; I've never used it before. It seems to leave a lot of unexpected baggage behind. I would send a screen shot, but if I start up Grab or Voila, all the AI pallets go away, and that's half the information. So how do I control gradient mesh?

Switching between https and http requests

Our application is built using ADF 10.1.3
This application need to be integrated with an in house built single sign on system. ( SSO system is built in C# and .NET)
This single sign on system only understand https request. Once user is validated against single sign on system, our application's authorization page is called in HTTPS mode. Once the user is authorized, he is forwarded to home page. While forwarding to home page, we want to convert the HTTPS request to HTTP.
Currently once the user is authenticated, all requests are happening in HTTPS mode.
We do not know how to make http request from existing https requested page.
Any help is appreciated.

the way to do this is by redirecting the call from a PhaseListener or command button. The solution Avrom refers to is a PhaseListener that uses XML configuration file to determine whether or not the page you are navigating to requires https or http. The code that handles the protocol switch is printed below

Easy way to switch between Headphones and Surround in

I'm looking for some sort of utility that can make it easier to switch between headphones and surround speaker setu
ps.
As it is right now, I use my headphones for FPS gaming and such but when I listen to music, etc., I want to then have XP go back to settings for 5. surround. I keep both my headset and speakers hooked up and just power off the speakers when I used my headphones.
Is anyone aware of a utility that can automate this?
At the worst perhaps just a tray icon that I can quickly select the desired setup but better would be a utility that watches the current apps and lets me tell it what the right settings are for each and change it on the fly.Message Edited by Agrajag on 0-08-200804:57 PM

i don't know of any way to automate this process.... i have speakers and a surround sound system, but my computer is usually set to the surround sound setting. i just leave it like that when i use my headphones. the headphones work alright when the surround sound setting is on, as far as i can tell. hope this helps

Unable to switch between txt and Facebook

After the 8.1 update I can't switch between txt and Facebook anymore. Not sure if its something I'm doing wrong but I used to have a button in each contact that allowed me to txt them or send it to their Facebook inbox. I no longer have that button, yet I have group set to on. Does anyone know if this was removed with the new update or I'm missing something out. Thanks Donna

I would agree that removing the facebook/social media integration is a definite step back. Microsoft reasons that with the new implementation it will be easier for 3rd part developers to fill this gap, I personally think this was a bad design choice and found that this functionality specifically was great and very useful.
