Automatic time set is wrong.

I live in AZ. I have the time zone set manually on my iPad to Phoenix. However, when I change my iPad time zone settings to set automatically, the time zone is switched to Denver or Cupertino. What's going on?

If memory serves me correctly - the last couple of times that there was a major iOS release - this problem seems to have come up for a few users.
See if this helps - Turn airplane mode on and then off, or turn your iPad off completely off (hold the top button appears, and then slide the slider), then turn it back on again.

  • Automatic time setting problems

The automatic time setting on my I phone 4s keeps defaulting too shanghai time even though I live in the uk. There are no other available options for time zones on this setting. The only way round it seems to be to turn off the automatic setting & switch it to manual. I can then select London. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Time Setting Always Wrong

For some strange reason, when I turn the "Set Automatically" on in the date and time setting, it jumps a day ahead and gives me some bizarre time at 1:30am... The time seems to only work when it's set manually. I know, no big deal... But what is causing it to do that?

    Hi,
Set automatically? I see Time Zone and Set Date & Time.
    Try resetting network settings.
Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Sometimes just resetting the iPad can help with a time issue. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

There seems to be a problem with the time servers time.euro.apple.com and how its setting summer time in Egypt, it seems to have changed a few days early. Summer time was not meant to start until 1st Aug till the end at midnight between Thursday, 25 September 2014 and Friday, 26 September 2014. So all my Apple devices iphone and MacBookPro runnning 10.9.4 are an hour out with the automatic settings. So had to go back to manual time setting and lost an hour in bed.

  • My iphone 3gs has started showing the wrong time  and date. All was fine until this afternoon when it changed.  My apps have the right time and date. However the world clock is wrong. I have to turn off the automatic time setting to get the right time.

My iphone is showing the wrong time and date. All was well until sometime this afternoon when it changed...  to Nov 5 (2 days prior to today), and about 9 hours and some minutes before the actual time.  The world clock for my time zone shows the same wrong date and time. My calender shows the same wrong date and time.  The phone can not find my time zone any more.   The only fix I found was to turn off the automatic setting for time.  What is  happening? Ideas?

    just sorted mine went to
    settings-mail,contacts,calender-timezone support
then turned it off then on tapped time zone and typed london
    this did sort mine

  • Wrong automatically time set

it suddenly occurs to my phone while my phone vibrates due to meeting mode is active.
And I find the date is set to 2014/10/01, 8:XX AM, while it's actually 2015/02/17, 4:XXPM.
I restart my phone and it doesn't work. I have to close the "Set Date and Time Automatically" option.
My Time Zone is Beijing,HongKong(+8) and GPS is working properly. Does anyone know why?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

For what it's worth, I haven't seen that, but I have experienced cases where the tower is giving the wrong time zone.   I have a colleague who almost missed a plane because of this and his iphone lost an hour and his alarm went off an hour late.   I think it is wise to set the device to prompt for time change.

  • Automatic Time Zone chooses wrong continent - Lion/iCloud

I live in Melbourne, Australia but when I set the Date/Time prefs to the "Set Time Zone Automatically" it chooses Wayne, MI - United States which is approx' 16 hours behind. It worked fine for a while and it malfununctioned soon after setting up an iCloud account.
Also, a few days after setting up iCloud each entry in my Address Book was duplicated including mine, the administrators.
I have run disc repair ( no help) but not from the startup disc. Can I use the Snow Leapard startup disc to run disc repair after updating to Lion?
    Thanks, Brendan.

You can run Repair Disk from the Restore  Partiton your HD. Restart the computer, when you hear the startup tone choose the Restore Partition and then open Repair Disk. However I'd be surprised if that has anything to do it with it. You should run Repair Disk Permissions at least 2x, and then if you want run Repair Disk. Then restart the computer in Safe Mode to clear some caches. Then restart normal and check the Time Zone.
I also suspect you don't have iCloud setup correctly. You should check in Address Book preferences and see if you have duplicate accounts, I suspect you do. If I'm correct that would create duplicate entries.

  • Apple Time Server displaying wrong time

So I have the option 'Date and Time' I have the 'Set Date and Time Automatically' checked and the apple time server selected. I also have the correct time zone selected. However, the time that is displayed is one day and five hours ahead of the actual time. I know I can manually set the time, but the time stamps on my emails don't change when I do that. So I'd appreciate it if there was a way for me to use the automatic time setting, but have it display the correct time.

There are three apple timeservers. Try changing to a different one and then back to the correct one.

  • Lock screen and world clock show 24hr time, with date & time set to 12hr..

I gave my old iPhone 3GS to my wife after turning the 24hr time to off in in date & time settings but the lock screen and the world clock still display the 24hr time format (everything else is 12hr). I've tried rebooting, rebooting and leaving off for an extended time, switching 12/24 toggle back and forth in date & time settings, and deleting all locations in the world clock but the 24hr format stubbornly remains. The 24hr time confuses my wife so want times to display in the 12hr format.

I am having a similar problem with my iphone. i am in New Zeland, i have the date and time set correctly but in the world clock it is about 18 hours out. the wolrd clock for San Franciso agrees to my local time. i have tried different time zones and having the the automatic time setting on and off. i have also rebooted the iphone. any suggestions?

  • Why automatically [automatically change time] setting in win8?!!

in win8 that I have been install it on my macbook pro, system time automatically change after each time i set correct local time.
i was disable automatic time in win8 configuration, but that's not work.
i have a same problem with my previews system between osx 10.7 vs win7. on that case win7 time was ok, but osx time wrong.i try several times to set osx time but each time changed time after restart.  I was disable all automatically options from both OS but my problem not solved.
now i need a help to manual set time in osx 10.8&win8 without automatically change...

The problem isn't so much that the time is changing as much as how Windows and OS X deal with time.  It will never be correct for both.  Windows sets your internal clock to "local time" which is the actual time you would use.  OS X uses a Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) offset.  Basically, OS X will set your internal clock to Greenwich Mean Time and then, based on your geographic location, it will add the correct number of hours based on your time zone.  So, for OS X, your internal clock will always be the same time regardless of where you are in the world and the OS adjusts it to display the correct time.  Windows actually sets your internal clock to your actual time.
So there is no way to have them both be correct... especially if you turn off auto updating.  If OS X was the last OS to set the time (so your internal clock would be set to GMT) and you switch to Windows (this should only happen with BootCamp by the way) Windows will display the GMT (which would not be correct for your local time).  Likewise, if Windows were the last OS to set your internal clock (so it would be set to your local time), when you switched back to OS X, OS X would "think" the internal clock is set to GMT and apply an offset so it would be however many hours your are from the GMT timezone hours off.

  • Is there a way to automatically change tabs with different times set for each tab?

I found a few add-ons that will automatically change tabs based on a configurable time. But all the tabs use the same time setting. What I need is the ability to have tabs displayed for different amounts of time. Ex, Tab 1 for 30 seconds, Tab 2 for 10 seconds, Tab 3 and 4 for 5 seconds. Ideally, I will have the ability to modify these settings as the amount of tabs and the content will change a couple times a week.
Currently I'm using Tab Slideshow with each tab displayed for 15 seconds. But it sounds like Tab Rotate and Auto Toggle Tabs essentially do the same. If there is already a solution that would be great but if not is there someone available for hire to help modify one of the existing add-ons? Thank you in advance for your time.
    John

Currently Firefox don't have any options like that.

  • Eror in automatic time & date setting

Suddenly the automatic time & date function in System Preferences is returning an incorrect time. I am shown in the correct time zone (EDT), but using the automatic setting puts the time ahead by 4 hours. I believe that would be GMT. Cannot figure out why it would do this. I am using an early-2008 MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.8.2.
Intrerestingly, my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 is showing the correct time.
Anyone else experiencing this, or have any ideas how do return to the correct time?

  • When I try to set the automatic time zone on my iPad in Settings all I get is the "waiting" wheel constantly turning.    The only way to set the time is in the manual mode.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Thanks!

When I try to set the automatic time zone on my iPad wi-fi mini in Settings all I get is the "waiting" wheel constantly turning.

    How to solve this problem?
    Thanks!

You must be connected to a good wifi network for it to reach an outside time server.

  • Set automatic time cycle in a event catch timer

I have a event catch timer on human task.
    I must set a time cycle using an expression;
I have defined the variable "timeOut" where there is the value in day ( 2 day)
I have tried to use expression --> Xpath and I followed as described in the Oracle documentation
but the timer does not work
    How can I do?
    Thanks

    Thanks.
    I have tried :
    1) I have defined in script task a variable expireTime (string type) = concat('PT','2','M') and in event catch time set "time cycle" -->"use expression" --> Xpath --> bpmn:getDataObject('expireString') , so is OK
    2) I have defined define in script task a variable timeExpire = 2 (string type) and in event catch time set "time cycle" -->"use expression" --> Xpath --> bpmn:getDataObject(concat('PT', timeExpire,'M')) , but in this case the process hangs
In the second case, where do I wrong ?
