Automatic transport

Hi,
When I log in to a specific client. eg 800 and schedule my "automatic transport all" in stms_import, after the job run, my request was all transported. However, how come the other request in other client eg, 810 was also transported. Isnt that batch job client specific?

The job is client dependent, but the transport queue is not.
The requests which are imported in client 800, will be seen in 810 also as imported.

Hi Friends,
For automatic import of transports to QA , i have schedule the below job
TMS_00000001IMP.ALL ,
This job is finishing with the below error

I have checked the permissions and corrected the same. But still i am getting the same error. Hence the automatic transports to QA is not working.

Automatic transport not working

after the offline backup, the automatic transport from DEV to QAS not working.
when i check the tools transport on STMS , i tak this error.
DB Connect ==> Link to database failed.

Then the job will be running in the system.

Usung above link you can schedule a transport, if you schedule this job a back ground job will be defined copy this job and create a new varient with your transport request. Make this job run after the back ground job you want.

Automatic transport with ChaRM

Hi!
We transport currently all transports with u201EIMPORT ALLu201Cmethod and are thinking about the implementation of ChaRM.
This method (u201CIMPORT ALLu201D) allows us to transport the transports at 10 and 14 ou2019clock automatically from DEV into QAS system
As we know ChaRM works with SINLGE IMPORT method (CTC=1).
Questions
1) Do we have any possibilities for the automatic transport in ChaRM?
If Yes, how does it work?
2) Do we have any possibilities for locking of objects and mechanisms to avoid "outrun of transportsu201D?
Developer 1 works with objects A, B, C, changes the object B and transports them into QAS system.
Developer 2 works with objects B, G, H, transports the object B into QAS system.
Now he has the other version of object B, because the object B was changed by developer A.
Does ChaRM offer some mechanisms to avoid u201Coutrun of transportsu201D?
Any helpful information will be very appreciated and awarded with points.

The problem is we would like to use non-ChaRM and ChaRM transports simultaneously in same DEV client (e.g. 100). The same applies for QAS system (e.g. client 200).
We would like to integrate other transport routes into ChaRM.
Do you think we have possibility to integrate this.

Automatic Transport jobs keeps running

Hi,
I have scheduled an automatic transport job:
TMS_0000000001TMS_TP_IMPORT in BIQ to run every 30 minutes. We want to
be able to transports every 30 minutes in BIQ. For some reason it keeps
running. I tried to Shop it and I am unable to stop it. Every time I
try To stop it, I get the below error message: u201CError Locking table
TBTCOu201D. When I try to delete the job I get the message u201CFailed
To lock job u201CTMS_0000000001TMS_TP_IMPORTu201D. Please advise as i can
no longer do any more transports.

Did you try killing the same at OS level. Check at OS level how many tp process are running. If more than one are running then kill all of them at OS level. After that delete the entires from TRBAT and TRJOB tables. Also, please refer the below link if it can help.

Automatic transports scheduling in ECC

Dear Friends,
We are planning to automate the transports in our Quality system. We have concern for the following, please can u kindly help us with the same.
If we automate the transports in SAP, will the old released transports to QA but not transported to QA will they automatically be transported with the new queue. If what is the procedure to avoid the same.
Also what are the other precautions we need to consider when we schedule the automatic transports.

Thanks for your kind reply. The buffer for the QA system is set to /usr/sap/trans/SID/buffer/SID_of_QA(where transport queue is defined)
So if I move the SID_of_QA from the buffer, automatically all the queue in the transports will disappear.
Once we schedule the automatic transports then only the new transports released in the queue will be transported. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Scheduled transports (automatic transports) missing transports

Hi
We have scheduled/automatic transports set up, i.e. SAP standard job imports all released transports from DEV into QA on the hour and the half hour. This normally works fine...
However, our developers have noticed a few transports have not been applied to QA. On further investigation it looks as if any transports released EXACTLY on the hour, or half hour, are NOT imported into QA. The job seems to miss these!
Anyone come across this / know how to fix? It's not easy to check if any transports have been missed either, any easy way of doing this would also be beneficial in case we can't fix this, we need to know what has been missed...
We're on tp patch 165 (700), last few fixes documented in latest version (214) don't say anything about this.

Yoganand, yes we could perhaps use a script instead to schedule transports or write a script to look for missed transports and import them... will look into this, but shouldn't have to - SAP standard functionality should work!
Suman, thanks, but this isn't the case - half an hour / an hour later, still not imported - in fact, they never appear in the buffer on these odd occasions. Developer releases it exactly on the hour/half hour and it looks like a successful release to them. However, it never appears in the buffer/is never imported. It's as if it tries to add to the buffer but because the scheduled transport is taking place, cannot... logs show that it WAS added to the buffer - but checked and nothing there.

Deactivating automatic transports?

Hello experts,
I am trying to disable the automatic prompt for a transport when going through the hiring process via PA40. I know you can check a few fields in table T77S0 which works.
Somehow our production environment doesn't prompt us with a transport request for the hiring process but also doesnu2019t have these fields checked in the T77S0 table. We donu2019t want to maintain this table if there is another way to disable the prompt for a transport request.
Iu2019m sorry if this question is too basic but I havenu2019t been able to solve this query on my own.

Hi,
You can disable transports via SCC4 transaction by selecting "No automatic transport ".
However, this would affect the transport mechanism in the whole system.
On the other hand, the switches in T77S0 only affects transport requests in Personnel Management module.

Factory Calendar (Automatic Transport Request)

I would like to make changes to the factory calendar automatically request a transport.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
In transaction SCC4 Automatic recording of changes is set.
In IMG Activity, object SCAL is set to 2 Automatic transport
When changes to factory calendars are made, it only warns that customizing changes are not automatically recorded.

Factory calendar can be changed in Development. This wont create any transport request number. If u need the same changes in other systems, this needs to be manually changed in those systems. There will not be any transport rquest generated as such.

Automatic Transport Mechanism to four systems in same landscape

Hi,
We have come across a requirement where we need to transport a request to four systems instead of traditional three.
The systems involved are - DEV (Development), QAS (Quality), PRD (Production) and TRG Training).
Currently the transport route is setup for three systems and we need to add the fourth one - Training system. The solution we are looking for is once the request is imported in Production it should be imported automatically in Training system, without any manual intervention.
The version being used in ERP 5.0.
Any input in this reagrd is much appreciated.

Hi,
You can configure the transport route accordingly
Then Click on the system where you want to schedule the auto import job (Training System ). Once you are in the import queue of that system (Tranining ), click on import all request (Big truck). After choose option - at start time and give a period say from today 7 AM and then choose the period option like (every 15 mins) and save this. It will release a periodic job running every 15 mins in your system with the name TMS_00000000XXTMS_TP_IMPORT.

Automatic transport in Two QUA systems

Hi to all;
I have one development system and two QUAs systems. If I release the order go to two QUAS systems.
I need for example if import manually the order in the first QUAS system, that automatic the order will be import in the second QUAS system.
It´s possible? any help or idea?

So in that case what you can do is change you STMS setting a little bit. So you setting would look something like this :
DEV -> QA1 -> PRD
-> QA2
So DEV to QA1 and then once transport is imported into QA1 then it will be added to the queue of QA2 and PRD.
In this way untill and unless the transport is not imported to QA1 it will not be imported automatically to QA2 and for PRD you can always use whatever your process is.

Yes. You can schedule a periodic job (say for example daily 6M) to import all released transport requests from QAS to PRD of a maintenance cycle/project. This is the task "Import Transport Request(Backround)" given in task list (tcode-SCMA) of a maintenance cycle.

I haven't done this. But this is the task "Import Support Package" given in task list (tcode-SCMA) of a maintenance cycle.
I hope there is no specific documents for these. It's the same documents related to ChaRM.

Automatic transport configuration

i am new with the transport systems, and I need some help.
I have the next scenario:
A global development system:
system: 1
development
mandant 100
A global quality system:
system: 1
quality
mandant 100
And additionally I have 4 local development systems:
systems: 2, 3, 4 and 5
development
mandant 200
Currently the transport between systems are manually, transaction STMS with Import (from DEV to QA) and transmission (from QA to local DEVs with and approval queue). And then I need to import in all the local DEVs this transports.
I'd like do it automatic, at least the part of the QA to local DEVs.
Can I do all transmissions in only one step, do a multiple system transmission? or can I do directly the import to de local systems without transmission from the approval queue?
Could somebody give me an idea?

Hello Raul,
As I understand it transport routes are in place and are working fine. Now you need to just to schedule import jobs for automising the imports.
1. For this go STMS transaction and then overview. Then choose the system in which automatic imprt is to be scheduled. The import queue of the system will show.
2. In the application tool bar you will find 2 TRUCK shaped icons : one for Import All , one for Single Import.
3. Select the Import All truck. A pop up will come.
4. Under Date/deadline select radio button At Start Time give the date and time of imports. In period field (which is actually disabled for filling in values) do an F4 and give the required period. Then select radio button after event and select the check box Execute Import periodically. However after this again select At start time radio button.
5. Go to tabstrip Execution and select Execute synchronously and in the options tab stip select all check boxes.
6. Press enter and say yesto the resulting pop up.
7. Your job is scheduled for a particular system. Go to SM37 give the job name as TMS* . You will be able to find it. Also change it is job class to A. That is useful for transport import jobs.

I had a look at the "<i>How to... Automate External ID Generation</i>" where the way to implement ID generation from the xRPM Backend is discussed.
It was really interesting and I wondered if the same could be done for the <b>Transport Package Id's</b> ?
Has anyone ever implemented things regarding that particular aspect ?
