Automatic Update Won't Work, Please Help!

Please help. I have the new 5G iPod and it has kinda been working fine for me. Everytime I go to plug it into my computer, the automatic udate won't start. The little iPod icon in the corner won't show up and when I go to pref. and click on iPod it says there is no iPod connected. I tried to restart the computer and iPod and plug it into a different USB port but still nothing works. I know I have new songs on there that I want to update on but the "Do not disconect" screen won't even come up. Any help would be great, thanks! =)

Try this:
Create a new user and make sure it is an Administrator account. Download and install iTunes.
If it installs properly, log out and then back in as you.
Uninstall iTunes using the method in this article:

Have you been having problems with your laptop before this?
You can always try a system restore too if the above steps don't work.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > Next > pick a restore point (you will get later dates if you check the "Show more restore points" box) I would go back at least a couple days > Next > Finish. It may take a while then it will reboot. On reboot it will finish the restore so it may take longer than normal to boot. This will not change any of personal files, only system and program files.

My ipod wouldn't work at all so i sent it in and they sent me a new one. I thought yeah now itll work but boy was i wrong. It wont get formatted for Windows. The updater does not work and i uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but nothing. It automatically goes into disk mode and when i try to charge it the folder with the exclamation point. First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are.

My software update dosent work. It has worked in the past, but one day it just stopped working... it returnes with an error saying "Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. The Installer package has been moved to the Trash. To try again, open the package from the Finder."

I have a 6gb micro and it won't work, please help

first off, the thing worked fine for the first day! i used microsoft media player to sync some songs to it without installing the software. well, the battery died, remembering it only has a 2 hour battery life! thing is, it wouldn't charge when it was hooked up the computer, it wouldn't even recognize it, so i called customer service and after an hour of being on hold, the lady tells me to install the software and it would work fine. when i did that, guess what, it didn't! it did the same thing, it wouldn't recognize the player and the player would not charge. i would think it was the usb cord, but the battery gets really hot, but the thing just won't turn on and the computer won't recognize it! please help me!

It's strange. How did you even manage syncing without installing the software on your computer - i mean, the computer has to recognise it before it can start processes.

ITunes won't work, please help

Hello Apple Discussions. I've been having trouble with my iTunes account. Every time I try to open the program it tells me that an error has occurred and has to close. I've been reading through what other people have tried to get around this problem, and this is what I've tried so far. I tried checking the disk, nothing. I tried opening the Quick Time player and I'm getting the same message that a problem has occurred and has to close. What do I do? Please help. Thank you for your time.

The Quick Time player is a BEX error.
I'm afraid that malware is the worry with that ntdll.dll/BEX combination, scotty. (Often people who get it also can't get their Adobe Reader to launch either, although that symptom isn't universal.)
I'm not sure which particular beast (or beasts) is the culprit at this stage, but the free version of Malwarebytes has been doing a good job of fixing it for a lot of people.
Download and install Malwarebytes from the following page. Update the Malwarebytes definitions prior to running a scan with Malwarebytes:

If you remove the infections, can you get your iTunes and QuickTime launching again?

Blackberry screen won't work, please help!!!

I turned my blackberry on yesterday, the usual blackberry loading bar came on then when it came up with my home screen it didn't do the usual "verifying software" thing and instead it just came up straight way with a notification saying "application terminated: share_impl_snake had been denied the cross application communication" I know this notification is for a game I downloaded ages ago but revoked it from accessing my device. Anyway when I went to press okay it wouldnt do anything. The buttons are all working fine though because they work when I press them to stop the screen from going dim. But thats all they will do. I have tried EVERYTHING, please help, I can't use my blackberry at all!

Audio Won't Work PLEASE HELP!!!

I imported a video into iMovie and when I play it the sound wont work. The audio boxes on the clip bar are checked and everything but there is no sound. Sound works in iTunes and other applications but not iMovie. Is it because the video tape I recorded with is an HD video tape? What do I do? Please help ASAP. Thank you!

Frankly, I do not know why. I cannot imagine it is because of the tape. Does the sound play OK on the tape within the camera? The volume slider below the imovie screen is at the far right? Does an imported song play OK within iMovie? You have not inadvertently muted the video clips by dragging the volume down - can be done in two ways:
1. by clicking on the small speaker icon at the bottom of the iMovie window and dragging down the vertical slider.
2. Going View>Show Clip Volume Levels, and dragging down the thin line that appears through the clips.
Are you using an external drive to store your projects - if so it must be formatted OS Mac Extended and not for Windows.
Maybe you should try repairing permissions:
Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility - chose the startup disk, and click 'repair permissions'.
If that has no effect, then try this:
Find and delete this file after closing iMovie:
Users (you)>Library>Preferences>com.apple.imovie.plist

Internet won't work, please help!

Recently my computer's wireless access just stopped working. The main cause is most likely do to leopard. The airport will not turn on at all. It's almost like I lost the software for my airport. I am still able to access the settings but the airport will not turn on. The only way I can access the internet is via ethernet. Please help, I am a student and my computer is vital to my work.

Linked text inside table won't work - please help!

Inside a 3 column table, I linked some text to a file in a different folder but the same site, and the links won't work. I have linked text in a table before and it worked. I don't know if it's the table properties that is wrong or something else I've done, but I've read everything I can find and cannot come up with the reason why my links won't work. can you help me?

B43 firmware my wireless won't work please help

I downloaded the b43 firmware from the AUR and I can't seem to get it running, no idea what to do from here.
iwconfig doesn't return any wlan0 or anything.
please help me get my wireless running.

My itunes won't work please help..

it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.. I tried to follow the other suggestions but I can't seem to understand it and I get confused..
so I downloaded an update for ipod and just recently I tried to run it and it crashes. I get the "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close..."etc msg. i uninstalled it and reinstalled it, etc like many times but same message. my quicktime crashes too so I tried to uninstall it but it wouldnt so i just deleted the whole folder and tried to reinstall it but it still wouldn't.
i'm totally frustrated i wish i'd never clicked that update button.. if it ever works again I'll just let it be from now on..
if someone can please guide me through.. I'm not good with computers so it's hard for me to understand all that.. i would appreciate it thanks

Hello. I pretty much gave up all hope and wasnt going to try to fix it anymore, and I was glad I had most of my good songs on my ipod already..
but i randomly came to the forums and looked at one person's post, where someone suggested that they install the standalone quicktime.. I knew my problem had something to do with quicktime so, since it wouldn't uninstall, I manually deleted all the quicktime folders and files, execpt one file which refused to delete so I just moved it, then I installed that standalone quicktime installer, and it was successful, and followed up with Itunes installation, and it was smooth sailing from there.. so far.. well I hope that it will stay working.
sorry to say but I won't be touching any more updates.. dont wanna go through this again

My doc won't work, please help mee! :(

For about 6 months now my doc hasn't been working properly, 'finder' and 'trash' are both invisible, and I cannot hold down an icon on the doc to remove it or open ect. I have tried "killall Dock", I've tried deleting things in ~/library, argh please help

At this point I thinking a typical fix solution has been further complicated by user tampering with system and hidden files.
So I'm going to recommend you do this.
1: Backup your users files folders (music, pictures, movies, documents, etc) to a regular external drive in addition to any other backups, like bootable clones/TimeMachine and disconnect all drives from the machine.
Emergency backup procedure
Drag and drop copy your users file folders (music, pictures, documents etc) to a regular external powered drive as soon as possible.
Do not use, setup or trust only TimeMachine at this troubled time as it will copy corrupted data and we need just your users files safe just in case. TimeMachine cannot be used with a Windows PC.
Unmount and Disconnect all external drives once the backup process is completed.
Note:
If you have any over 4GB sized files, those won't copy to a standard formatted FAT32/MSDOS drive from the factory, if you need to save these 4GB+ files use another blank/empty drive and use Disk Utility to format it 1 Partition, Option: GUID, Format: OS X Extended Journaled (the standard default)
Mac's cannot copy to nor format a NTFS drive. exFAT format to be used with a Windows machine must be right click formatted by Windows, not OS X (does it wrong) XP macines can install a free exFAT update from Microsoft. Vista-Win 8 can format exFAT. OS X 10.6.5 and up can use exFAT.
Formatting a drive will erase all data on it, so make sure there is nothing you want remaining on the drive.

2: Next proceed with fixing your machine in the Steps here in order to catch other issues and your original problem.

To fix the changes in your ~/Library, your going to have to transfer a copy of your users files folders (music, pictures, movies, documents etc, no Library) into a new account on the machine via the Shared folder, then log into the new account and delete the old one, reboot and recreate the same account again, then transfer files back and do a #6 Repair Users Permisisons to reset those file permisisons to the new account (even if it has the same name)
Don't forget to export bookmarks, emaill addresses, addressbook contacts and other things.

Combine two+ Users Accounts on the same machine
What this will do is give you a brand new ~/Library and all your problems should be resolved hopefully.
