Automatic Updates and toolbars
Could I please make a suggestion that you not automatically install toolbars on your user's computers? I would suggest you have opt-in boxes when the update is installing so the users can choose to install what features they want.
I do not use toolbars - yours or anyone else's - and don't like having to waste time uninstalling them. I'm afraid that I view automatically installing features on my computer rather like a mechanic fixing things in my car that don't need fixing. I don't mind automatic updates, but installing software I may or may not (in my case definitely NOT WANTED) is not cool.
Currently, as insane as this sounds, the only option is to reinstall it, then you will be able to remove it using Add/Remove programs, when this situation happens.
To do that, please copy/paste the link below into the browser window of your choice:

My Windows XP software recently had an automatic update and now when I open iTunes, I receive the message "This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes."
I have not used iTunes for several weeks so the issue may not be related to the last Windows XP automatic upgrade. I have never had problems with iTunes in the past. Is this a real message or perhaps a virus?
Before I reinstall iTunes, any thoughts? It's a real message.
Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:

My Adobe was just automatically updated and now I can't find many of the documents I had saved on my note 3 . What is going on?
Hi,
Your local files are not deleted by Acrobat DC.
Please take a look at the following document to find the local files on your Android device.

My Adobe was automatically updated and now I cant find many of the documents I had saved on my iPad. What is going on?
Hi,
Would you take a look at the "Selecting a file location" section in the following document?
How to manage files in Acrobat DC for iOS
I suspect that you are looking at the Recent section. Your can switch to Local (for the files & folders stored on your iPad/iPhone) or Document Cloud (for the files & folders stored in the Adobe Document Cloud, formerly Acrobat.com) to find your "lost" files.
Please let us know if you have additional questions. Thank you. -
I'm using the beta Aurora, and it was working fine until it automatically update. It's not working anymore. The short cut key in desktop changes and when you click it. it says"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item". I cannot uninstall it to install a new firefox.
Delete the shortcut you have at the moment and then create a new one as follows:<br><br>
#Use Windows Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.<br><br>
#Right click '''firefox.exe''' and choose '''Send To''', then '''Desktop (Create shortcut)'''<br>
Bear in mind that you're using an BETA version of Firefox and you're likely to encounter similar issues in the future. -

Acrobat Automatic Update and Virus Threat
Hey Everyone:
I have a quick question I was hoping someone could answer for me. I was tricked by some malware/spyware a few months ago by a program that passed itself off as an Adobe Acrobat Automatic Updater. Still not sure where I got it from.
Anyhow, I was wondering if I should completely avoid Automatic Updaters and come straight to Adobe for the updates, or is there a step that I can take to assure that I know the updater is legitimate.
This is probably an oversimplistic question, but I am very apprehensive about ALL automatic updaters now.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Adam Rockwell

Home Trends BlogIf you get a notice, then go to the help menu in Acrobat and use the check for updates there. You can also go to Adobe.com>downloads and select the updates under the reader link in the upper right of the screen. If you do the latter manual update, you have to download all updates after the version you have and install them in order.

Adobe automatic updates and Microsoft Windows.
About a month ago I asked a question in this article.
At the time I didn't consider what caused the problem as carefully as how to overcome the problem.
This time however I would like to consider what is causing the problem more than how to overcome it.
I have recently been informed by Adobe update manager that Adobe Flash Player v.10.0.42.34 was available.
Because I was busy working I accepted the update without thinking. Later I reconsidered and checked my Windows 7 computer.
I discover that I have exactly the same problem that I had a month ago after using the Adobe automatic update.
I find the Flash objects sometimes appear; sometimes appear and then disappear; and sometimes don't appear.
Out of curiosity I checked my Vista laptop, no problems there. I then downloaded the Adobe update and immediately I have the same problems with Flash.
I tried my old XP tower and things were OK on that machine. I downloaded the update there and the same thing occurs with Flash objects.
All computers are using Windows; all are using IE8; and all are up to date.
Why do my computers display Flash perfectly for a month, but immediately after an automatic update display problems?Hi Blondie
Thanks for your time. Just back from overseeing daughter's Sky TV installation.
Appreciated the heads-up on Java 6.18. So after installation
Win 7 Programs & Features lists
Java DB 10.5.3.0
Java 6 Update 18
Java SE Developement Kit 6 Update 18
[Wow that's almost 300 Meg..??]
Add-Ons list
Java Plug-In 2 SSV Helper
isInstalled Class
Java Plug-In 1.6.0_18
Deployment Toolkit.
Curiosity here makes me ask, if you go to here to this website, it usually has 3 columns of Flash objects. But now after the latest Adobe update I only get 2 columns. The 3rd, righthand column is added underneath column 1..?? So I get all the information but sort of reassembled..?? I haven't noticed any other peculiarities yet but I will look at my websites more closely.

Just did Automatic update and now system keeps crashing
I just installed the latest updates: iTunes7 and QuickTime 7.1.3 and restarted my PowerMac G4 and now it gets a ton of pixels when it launches OS X and the system freezes and says it needs to be restarted.
Can anyone give me some ideas of what to try out?The system probably was in need of repair already, an "accident waiting to happen" which booting into the command line (Single User Mode with "command + s" on startup to run fsck would help alleviate), that and a backup of your system.
Also, Applejack is a great tool to have handy to run after running 'fsck' if you have a PPC Mac (like G4).
Use the latest Disk Utility otherwise, and maybe 3rd party utility that is 10.4.7 compliant (Disk Warrior for PPC, TechTool Pro 4.5.1 for PPC and MacIntel).
You can still try Single User Mode and fsck. -
This had better be reversible.
This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I've attempted the "fix" as prescribed on their website without success.......
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

I open profile manager and see bookmarks but how can it restore them in my browser? Firefox doesnt clearly explain but just moves you to different articles with no end.
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I have checked servers and ports, done the winsock bit (only bonjour shows), have checked my antivirus, everything. But still I can't sort it and it's frustrating me, as it picks and chooses when it downloads apps and songs I have recently purchased too. Nothing has changed except for the windows 8 automatic updates, and it was working fine beforehand.

I'm sorry, I can't find a better forum to ask this question and I don't feel like calling Apple support. But I'm trying to format and reinstall the OS. No special reason why I'm doing it, just want the reassurance that I know how. Thanks
