Automatic updation of planned delivery time in material master.

Dear all,
Is it possible to update the Planned delivery time in the material master automatically by the system based on goods receipt date.
what customisation needs to be done.

It is not dynamic field so you can't retrive automatically.

If you push F1 when your mouse is set on that field you will see that help says that PDT is defined as calendar days. However, you can carry out some changes:

In addition to that link, you can use safety time as well (with this setting you can pull back in time the requested availabilty date during MRP run). You can also use PDT in info records if you have several source of supple for one material.

Planned Delivery Time from Material Master instead of PIRs

Hi SAP Gurus,
Do you know if there is a way to have MRP look at the Planned Delivery Time from the Material Master (MRP 2 tab) instead of the PIR?
We would like to create global PIRs with a PDT of 1 and have the Material Master PDT set to a different number (example 5). So when MRP runs it will read 5 instead of 1.
Any additional information is appreciated.

Hi Nicholas,
In Standard SAP will consider Planned delivery time maintained in Inforecord and than time maintained in Material master. Inforecord has higher priority than material master. When a requisition is manually created, the Planned Delivery date will always be taken from the material master.
For MRP you can make setting OMDT for your plant or MRP group to determine planned delivery time.
Deactive the flag 'Scheduling according to purchasing info record or agreement' in Customizing (Plant or MRP group). and test the same.

Do you know is it possible to determine system so that MRP run will consider the planned delivery time from the scheduling agreement line instead of material master? Now the system read planned delivery time from material master when creating schedule lines automatically by MRP-run.

Here you can select the indicator "Scheduling according to purchasing info record or agreement" either at plant or MRP group level.

Updating in-house production time in mat master

Hi, we have not maintained in-house prod days in material master for all materiasl. pls advise do we need to run ca97 t-code after uploading all fert materials in production server? is there any other method.

For updating in house production time in material master you have to follow the procedure,
1. Maintain Processing time in Routing Operation details screen.
2. Then go to Operation overview screen in Routing, In menu go to Extras -- >Scheduling ---> Choose Schedule. Scheduling
    pop up screen will appear.
3.Enter the scheduling type, lot size and dates for the corresponding scheduling type.choose continue, on the next pop up
     enter the overview variant and choose continue.
4. In scheduling Overview screen choose the operation and select Scheduling result tab on the next pop up choose Update
     material master tab.
5. Choose continue and save the routing.
6.Then go to CA96 enter the plant and choose continue, on the next screen select the scheduling result and choose Update
   material master tab.
7. Go to Material master ---> Work scheduling view you can see the In house production is updated.

i have created a material using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA.
IN Mrp2 VIEW
PLANNED DELIVERY TIME IN DAys is not updating
i have passed
la_plantdata-plnd_delry = P_PLND_DELRY.
la_plantdatax-plnd_delry = 'x'.
i have commited the work too but the field is not updated

However can you check
can you check whether la_plantdatax-plnd_delry field is 3 charcter or one character field.
Generally it will be like below.
la_plantdata-plnd_delry = 100
la_plantdatax-plnd_delry = 'X

Udating material master with changed planned delivery time in contract

Hi experts ,
My question is while we are changing the planned delivery time in the contract we need to udate the same in the material master table . so how to update the material master table with new planned delivery time. Is there any FM exits to udate it and if it is then how to use it.

Hi Madhu ,
You are right we can use BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA but if we use it then we have to use BAPI_COMMIT also to make sure that all the changes are saved completly and if we do BAPI_COMMIT then it maye commit all the task which is in queue and it need to update later. So it is again a issue .

Planned delivery time Pickup from inforecord not material master data

Hi,
Currently the delivery dates of the orders are calculated with the delivery time which is marked in MM02. Since the purchasing integrates this information in the info record, we want the delivery date to be calculated with delivery time of the info record instead of calculating it with the data of MM02
Please suggest any config.

Try like this, ME21N, put the vendor, material , plant and other Org elements, hit enter, and check P.O what is the planned delivery time that you are seeing, also is the same PIR also appearing in the P.O when you scroll to the right?
Also note.. that system might be picking 3, maybe saturday and sunday holiday is coming, check that too

Planned delivery time of an externally procured material

Hello All
     I am having a scenario wherein some of the raw materials are send out for subcontracting & in return we get a semi-finished, if suppose we send raw materials for 500EA of SF then we get back initially 50EA after 10 days & then 50EA after every 7 days, the initial lot of 50EA we get in 10EA because the vendor has to setup the line for production at his end. How can i map this into the SAP system as in how shall i decide the planned delivery time of this SF.
       Please clarify the entire process as in how it shall be mapped in SAP. Your inputs are highly appreciated and required.

          I agree that in purchase order itself we can maitain delivery schedules manually as per the delivery given by subcontractor.
          I am having a concern here, can't we simulate this in SAP so as Schedule lines are automatically created as per the order quantity & as per the delivery time for a given qty. Is there any functionality in SAP so that we can map this scenario as per the requirement, there would be definitely this provision in SAP, do throw some more light on this. Your valuable inputs & guidance are highly appreciated.

Planned delivery time not updating real time in apo

Hi,
I have a location product which is part of the active integration model.
The location and product are both available in ECC and APO.
When i change the value of Planned delivery time in ECC, the changes do not get transfered to APO even after RIMODINI.
For e.g. the planned delivery time currently is 1 day and it is changed to 3 days, even after doing RIMODINI the changes are not reflected in APO.
Kindly suggest if somebody has come across this issue earlier.

Please check by tcode CFM5 weather material is there in IM or not .
Also check CFG1 log on R/3 and SLG1 or /SAPAPO/C3 or /SAPAPO/CQ in APO.

Planned delivery time in PIR

Hi all,
I have a problem in automatic data updation in PIR after changing the value of the Planned delivery time field in Vendor Master Record.
While saving the Vendor Master after changing the value of planned delivery time, a pop up window will appear saying it automatically updates the value of the same in PIR & Material Master data.
But the value remains the same in PIR.
Please help me on this issue.

Just check kishore's statement,if you are able to get the update in Info Record then fine OR check the settings for Auto info record update in Customising.
Can you tell me the advantage of updating Planned delivery time in VMR rather than updating in PIR & MMR ??

MRP - Auto creation of del schedule lines based on planned delivery time

Hi,
We have activated MRP (type PD) where Purchase requiesition is auto created by system for requirement quantity. We require to optimize delivery schedule in such a way that entire PR quantity is broken into various delivery schedule based on planned delivery time and requirement. Scenario can be further explained with following example.
Material Requirement for a month is say 1,25,000 units
Closing Stock say 25,000 units
PR Generated by system for 1,00,000 units. The entire quantity is schdulled with only one delivery schedule line as per planned delivery time.
The requirement is to generate multiple delivery schedule lines automatically in Purchase requisition based on planned delivery time so that Purchase orders can be placed with system generated delivery schedule lines.
How can it be achieved ?

This subject has been discussed repeatedly in this and other forums. I must assume that you overlooked the rules of engagement, which state that you should first search the forums and other public sites, before posting questions here.
Standard SAP MRP cannot be made to generate multiple items in a Purchase requisition. The functionality you seek is usually achieved when converting purchase reqs to Purchase orders, where many single purchase reqs can be adopted into a single Purchase order.
You also might want to investigate use of Vendor Scheduling agreements.

Planned delivery time issue

Hello Experts,
We have below requirement.
Created sales order for a particular material. Planned delivery time is picked from info record for that material and PR has been created.
We are converting PR into PO and the planned delivery time is fine. Now we are updating the ASN from vendor with some prior dates. In MD04, the same got updated. However the sales order still shows the old planned delivery time only. How to get the new planned delivery time in the sales order based on the ASN updated in PO.
Example:
Material: A
Planned delivery time is 10 in info record
Created sales order. Planned delivery time in the sales order is 10. PR created with fixed vendor and planned delivery time is 10 days from the date of creation.
Converted PO.
Now we received the ASN from Vendor that the vendor will deliver this material in five days. So accordingly we are updating the ASN in PO with delivery date.
In MD04, we could the new planned delivery time based on the ASN. However sales order delivery still shows the previouls delivery date only.
How to get the new delivery date in the sales order based on the ASN update?

This is not standard SAP logic. Required delivery date on the original line item stays as it was when you issued the order. Then you create a confirmation (ASN) that is relevant to MRP with the updated delivery date. Planning sees the new date and acts accordingly, and also in the order you can see both "old" and "new" (in the confirmation tab).

Overruling of planned delivery time in inforecord

Dear Experts,
for certain materials we have defined planned delivery Times within the respective material info records.
This is working as expected.
However, in certain cases the real delivery time for a material could differ from the one stored in the inforecord (be shorter).
Is it possible, that the end-user can overrule this planned delivery time during the PO creation, or do we have
to maintain the info-record for this (keeping in mind, that only as an exception the delivery time should be overruled).

Of-course they can change the planned delivery time at the time of PO creation.
System will fetch the default planned delivery time and delivery date as per defined material master.
But when you change the planned delivery time (in delivery tab), then system will calculate the delivery date automatically.
If this will happen very exceptional, then no need to maintain in info record or material master. Just change the planned delivery time at the time PO creation, system will change the delivery date accordingly automatically.
