I download Dreamweaver 8.1 and 8.2, but when I go to update,
I got a massage: "Items remaining to be installed: 111", then it
say "No installation was necessary. The files to be installed are
already on your disk, or are not needed for your hardware setup."
So I Quit! I open Dreamweaver, and its still Version 8.0. I can not
update, so I thinking what about "Automatic Updates" and how to do
this??????? Help

On 10.6.8 you can update to 9.2.3.
You really need to rethink you're computing habits. Using a computer without a back up is like driving without a safety belt. Updating the OS and applications without one is like driving blindfolded and drunk without a safety belt...
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

Usually the HDD is the frist place to look. Use the original install disk and start up the MBP with the C key down. Go through the installation process until you see on the display a menu bar on top.
Click on UTILITIES.
From the drop down menu select Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
What are the results?

You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.

I believe you are probably referring to iCloud photo sharing. If you wait a while, the next version of Yosemite will include the new Photos application which will sync video through the iCloud photo library feature.

Hi, I just had an issue with a photoshop document, my mac book temporarily crashed the screen glitches and deleted some vital layers I had constructed (took half a day) I thought I could correct it and saved it a few times in a panic and now i really need to go back to the save I made a day ago, my time machine is not set up and I just realised my files haven't been automatically uploading to cc is there anyway I can go back a day in saves?

Video editing software only needs to save the steps taken to achieve the edit, and references the actual video files from the hard drive. So the saved files are only tiny, and it takes very little drive space to auto save to incrementing file names. My digital audio workstation works on the same principle; it creates a backup save just in case things go wrong (which--knock on wood--hasn't happened to me) and only references audio/MIDI files that are related to the project.
My advice is to always, always back up sensitive documents. There are lots of ways of doing this, from manually to automatically. (e.g., A lot of higher-end routers let you connect external storage via USB so you can run backup software that detects any changes to a monitored folder over a network and then backs up any changed/updated documents to the connected storage. I prefer to do it myself manually, though.)

Phone photos not automatically uploading to my pc

First let me say that photos taken on my and my wife's iPhone 4 have been automatically uploading to my Windows 7 PC for a couple of years. I depend on the function to get all of our photos off the phones and into our family album.
Just a few days ago I noticed that no new photos were appearing in the My Picture/My Photostream folder. After looking around some and finding nothing that seemed out of order I thought it might be related to the only change that I'm aware of and that's the recent iOS7 updates.
Using the procedure/sequence outlined on Apple's support page I removed all of the apply software, including iCloud, rebooted and then reinstalled everything. During the installation I changed the new folder default to point to the old Photo Stream folder that it had previously been using. Still, no photos, old or new, would upload. They were showing up in the Photo Stream album on the iPhone, just not uploading to the PC.
I saw a post that said they had what sounded like the same problem and they fixed it by removing/reinstalling iCloud and accepting the default folders. I did that and it created a new folder called My Pictures/iCloud with a My Photo Stream sub-folder along with the shared photo streams that we use in our family. It also created a system folder that shows up in My Computer called iCloud Photos that has thumbnails for My Photo Stream, Activity (a folder that I never created) and the shared family folder Family. The thumbnail for My Photo Stream shows a couple of pictures that were a couple of the ones that last uploaded. However, when I open the folder it has nothing in it. When I click on either Activity or Family it appears to freeze but after a minute or so it will show boxes with a small x in the upper left corner. Down the right hand side are vertically stacked picture thumbnails for the pictures that I "Liked" on my iPhone. When I click on Info I see that I was invited to share the folder follwed by another line showing that I have subscribed to the folder.
The control panel iCloud app looks fine -- like I think it always has.
I'm at a complete loss. I really want the automatic upload to work again but I don't have a clue what to try next.
I've seen a lot of posts from folks having problems with this since upgrading to iOS7 but I haven't seen any "aha" revelations and/or solutions.
Anybody know how I can get this puppy working again?

Darn, that didn't fix it for long.
I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

I use BlueHost webhosting that has a primary domain and I have several domains with that account (as sub-domains or folders on this server) - with past versions of Muse when uploading pages it simply opened an alert window to tell me (what I already know) that the website I was uploading does not point to the primary domain BUT NOW Muse tries to create a new separate folder in the root directory of the primary domain - completely ignoring the directory path I am giving it - useless! Why make these senseless changes to the program - and so often - very frustrating it is like amateur ware!.

There are some issues with the upload to ftp via Muse, which the engineering team is aware of and those will be fixed in a future build of Muse. At this point the work around would be to export the html from Muse and then upload via some third party ftp client like filezilla.

Yes, with automatic upload enabled, the photos will be uploaded to the photo stream as soon as you import them. If you want more control, add them manually to the photo stream.

Automatic uploading of photos sent over chat - Un-...

Skype automatically uploads photos to the bull**bleep** skype web API whenever I send photos over skype. This is completely unacceptable and unwarranted. I also can't find the option to remove this "feature" from skype. I don't want a new image hoster, I don't want the internet having them. Peer to peer is far better, as I also get locally saved copies.
Better yet, only half the **bleep** chats send these internet photos. Not only is it a terrible invasion of privacy, but it's inconsistant as hell too.

Apple is currently developing the Mac part of iCloud Photo Library (Beta). Right now, you can only upload to the iCloud Photo Library from mobile devices with iOS 8, but the new Photos.app, to be released early this year, will make this possible from Macs as well. See: iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ
It will be possible to migrate iPhoto Libraries and Aperture libraries to Photos for cloud storage.
Obviously, all new photos I generate go to iCloud automatically but is there a way to get the thousands of photos that I have gathered over the years to be sent to iCloud.
Be careful - if you are referring to "My Photo Stream", your photos are not stored in iCloud. My Photo Stream is a temporary buffer in iCloud, and the new photos are only kept for 30 days in iCloud, then they will be purged to make room for more recent photos. If you have saved photos to My Photo Stream, make a local backup of all photos in the stream, while they are still there.

I am not certain this will fix your problem but I suggest you assign the printer a static IP address.
Using the printer's front panel, select Menu > Network > WLAN > TCP/IP > Boot method, and change it to "static". Provide a static IP address that is on your LAN's subnet.
For example, if you are using an AirPort Extreme, you might give it an IP address of 10.0.1.100. If you are using a Netgear or Linksys router that defaults to issuing 192.168.x.x addresses, you might give it an address of 192.168.1.100. That way, the printer will always "reside at the same address" on your network. If your router has the ability, you should reserve that address so that the router does not attempt to assign it to another DHCP device.
Then, go to System Preferences > Print & Scan, and delete your existing printer with the "–" (minus) button. Add it again, using the "+" (plus) button. In the window that appears, select the IP pane, and from the Protocol menu select "Line Printer Daemon (LPD)". In the Address field type the IP address you gave your printer.
If all goes well the "Pring Using" field will detect the printer at that address and automatically select the appropriate driver. You will see something similar to the following screenshot ("name" can be whatever you decide, and "location" is optional):
Click Add, then you can close System Preferences.
There are other possible reasons your printer is "not responding" which could include wireless interference from competing wireless networks, but try this "static IP" method first. It should mitigate the problem.

ICloud Automatic Upload only half working...

A week or two ago I tried taking photos from my iPhone into iPhoto, but when I connected it to my Mac, it detected only some of them. I kind of messed around with iPhoto's iCloud options, turning them all on and off, and an automatic upload did begin, and more photos showed up--but still not all of them. Image Capture didn't detect all of them, either. All I want is to save my vacation photos and free up some space on my iPhone anyone have an idea?

Image Capture and iPhoto will show you the photos in the Camera Roll and the Saved Items album, but not photos that have been synced to your iPhone using iTunes Photo Sync. And if your photos are part of a burst or HDR photos, it will depend on the Settings for Photo and Camera, if all photos of the burst or the jpeg originals will show.

Run software up date, write down the update name and version. Go to the Apple site and do a search for the updates one at a time and download them one at a time. Use an ethernet connection, sometimes software update "crushes large updates. I have experienced this before. Hope it helps. ATB
