Automatically add email contacts to new directory users?

Mac OS X.6 Server. Almost all users utilize the webmail interface.
Is there a way to automatically add all current user email addresses in Workgroup Mgr to new users when created?

If by "'saved' email address" you mean the autocomplete email suggestions that are given when addressing new emails, there isn't any way to use these to create new or add to existing contacts.

Contacts are synced with a compatible programme in the computer; in the iCloud or with Yahoo and Google Mail. You can directly "edit" a contact on the phone and/or within the programme that you are syncing your contacts with.
Have you configured/setup mails on your iPhone? If yes, check the contents of the mail account(s) individually. (including iCloud) from SETTINGS - MAILS, CONTACTS, CALENDARS
"Contacts" if chosen from the mail account (s) would add email addresses to your contacts.

Why are new directory users unable to login to iChat/jabberd?

I have a couple of new users I've added to our directory recently. They are unable to connect to our internal jabber (iChat) server. Users that have connected previously are experiencing no difficulty.
A quick overview of the layout of the system: two XServes, one is OD primary (aspen) the other is OD replica and iChat server (vail). I've modded some config files (long ago) to allow user IDs for jabber to be [email protected] instead of [email protected] It works quite nicely.
Excerpt from the logs shows a failed login attempt followed by a successful login attempt. Successful logins are happening from Messages (beta), iChat under Snow Leopard, and Pidgin under windows. Failing logins are all from iChat under Snow Leopard. Please ask questions, I'm happy to add any other pertinent data!

Tim, thank you for jumping in! I was afraid this question was going to languish.
Snow Leopard is indeed listed twice. It is listed once as being successful as our existing users are able to login to the jabber service from there. It is also listed as being the sole operating system from which logins are failing as our new directory users are only using that platform.
Only one machine is using Lion and that's the one using the Messages Beta and that's working just fine. I provided all of the client information, but I don't believe it's truly relevant. I'm pretty sure that the issue is on the server side. ...I just have NO idea what the problem is!

Automatic add of contact persons

Hi everyone,
When we create interaction logs and assign an account with several contact persons connected, the system automatically add each contact person to the interaction log. Can you change so the system ask which contact person you want to add or remove the setting where the system adds every single contact person connected to the account? See attached picture.

Cannot add shared Contacts in Open Directory from a client

Hello all
I need to transfer vCards from a local Address book to the Server and I need them to be shown in each client's Address book.
*Problem 1:* I cannot add or edit shared contact using the Directory app. from a client to a 10.5.3 Server. Only the Directory Admin credentials are valid. The client 10.5.5 is bound OK. The app is configured to use password, not Kerberos, and the Server is "responding normally" in the Directory Utility application.
I can even login as a mobile user with Network Home. Same there.
*Problem 2:* Ive put in Address Book the correct LDAP settings, but I cannot see a catalog of vCards. If I search using the search field, I get results, but I need them to be shown all as catalog.

This turned out to be a reverse DNS configuration problem. Apple support suggested using a local ip address instead of my public host name. That worked so I looked into the reverse dns configuration. I fooled myself by thinking that if I could reach my host with my.host.com with other services like http, that my DNS was set up correctly. My reverse DNS originally resolved to my.host.com when it should have been something more like 123-456-789-103.cos.pcisys.net. Now I can reach my host from anywhere with the Directory application.

How do I automatically add email addresses to the address book?

I'm trying to work out a way to ensure incoming messages to Mail with a specific phrase in the subject line will have their email addresses automatically added to a specific group in my address book. Any ideas?

I have one that is close, so I have made a couple of changes and it MIGHT do the job. I recommend backing up your address book before trying. You will need to change the script at line 3 to use whatever group name you want. The script will most likely fail if the group does not exist. This version has had very limited testing, and in particular there is no error handling built in - I don't know how it will behave if the sender of the mail has not provided a two-part personal name.
Store the script in your (not the system) Library/Scripts/Applications/Mail and point your rule at it. You will also be able to use it by selecting messages in mail and using the Scripts menu.

Every time I add a new MP3 file to my desktop, iTunes automatically adds it to a "New Playlist"! How do I disable this feature?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

PSE 8. Can Not add email contacts.

Can't add e mail contacts. Locks up after info is entered. Have PSE 8 running with windows 7. Help!

Automatically add role of Contact Person when BP is created as employee

We have done the configuration and setup to transfer OM data from ERP (ECC 6.0) to CRM 7.0. Before we execute the ALE job, we have one item we would like to add to the process.
We are a County Government implementing CRM Incident Management. Users will need to assign and forward Incidents to defined Contact Persons in various Org Units. It would require significant manual effort to edit BP records for each employee to maintain the Contact Person role.
Is there a way to automatically add the Contact Person role to each Employee BP at the time that the BP is created during the transfer of OM data? In other words, when IDocs are posted using RBDAPP01 in CRM, can the BP be created with the General role, the Employee role AND the Contact Person role at that time?
I have not found a BP configuration which implements this. I also did not find a switch in T77S0 which would cause this to occur.
I have searched this forum and the the CRM General Questions forum for this issue. I have found a few threads which posed the question but none which provided an answer for CRM 7.0. Please let me know if I have overlooked a previously posted answer.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, this isn't related to creating the Contact Person role when creating a contact relationship directly in CRM. What we need is the automatic creation of the Contact Person role at the same time that the Employee BP is created via the ALE transfer of OM data from ECC to CRM.

How can I create a simple app that will automatically add folder script

Hi! I hope I can get a little help on this. I tried searching online and haven't found anything.
Is there away I can make a simple "application" that will automatically add a folder script to a users folder?
Basically I need a folder script to run but I don't want to explaint o a user how they'd have to do it in automator.
I'd like to be able to create an application they double click. The app tells them to select a folder then automatically runs the script.
Does anyone have any ideas of how'd I'd do this?

Oh I get it. Yeah I read you post on one of the other pages and didn't quite understand, but not that you say that your're makeing this for another user, it makes sence.
So what you want to do is have the computer automatically install a script on a customer's computer, right?
(I'm using "custumer" loosly; i.e. just another user)
If that's what you'd like to do, then you'll probably have to write an actual program in Xcode, since I imagine automiticlly installing folder action scrips will be highly discuraged by Apple because it would cause a huge security hole in the OS. (You wouldn't want some random person sending you a folder action installer disgused as a regular app LOL.)
But I will actually suggest the following, which I think will work great for your users:
Make a regular Automator app, and drag it to your Dock. Now, have the user click and drag a bunch of photos to the application icon, and it will run the app automatically on those files.
You could try a work flow like this:
ask the user Are you sure?
convert pictures
save pictures to ConvertedPics folder
pop up a confirmation message saying that everything was resized

Automatically add all scopes depending on role

I have one environment with about 15 scopes (one scope for public content and then one per branchoffice)
now I got the following question: is it possible somehow to automatically add all scopes when new content is added that is meant to be public?
this is currently an action that can only be done by the AD group that has the full administrators role who create new stuff that will be accessible for the whole environment.
once new content is added they have to manually modify the security scope, so we would like to automate this somehow.

I’m cleaning up old post, did you figure this out yet, if so how?
There is nothing built-in to do this, you might be able to do something like this via the SDK but that might be a lot of work. IMO I wouldn’t worry about it, the CM12 Admin will learn soon enough to setup thing correctly when the ticket get sent back to
them to do more work.

Assuming you are using Apple's Mail application, contacts are managed via the Contacts application, in your application folder. As for various addressing methods, including groups, maybe this:

When you create a new user account in AD, based on the user's property like Department, Job or Location, the user need to be added to your specific AD groups?

New user account pulling in Admin's email contacts

I've set up a new account on my mac for my daughter. In her version of mail, it is pulling in all my saved email addresses (they show up when trying to auto-fill an address) so now she could accidentally email clients of mine. It appears to have copied over to her icloud because they now show up in mail on her ipad too. My email contacts are stored in mail somewhere and not in my contacts app so I'm not sure where to delete these within her account making sure they are NOT deleted on mine. Any ideas?

We do have different accounts. I was set up as one user on the computer and then added her as a different user. I then restored the mac to factory settings so she would be the only user, but it looks like the email contacts were pulled into her icloud because she now has them on this computer again and on her ipad. Let me look into deleting the previous recipients on her laptop and see if I can delete them there. Any idea how to get them off the ipad?
The only contacts in the contacts app I have are phone numbers for my phone and the only contacts in her contacts app are her friend's email/text addresses.
