Automatically add iPhone Photos to Mac

So I've been using my iphone to take pictures since I got it about 8 months ago and have tried to search everywhere on the internet to find a good solution to the problem. I went to the apple store today and the rep that helped me just typed my question into google; the same thing I did right before I went to see him...
Question: How can I set up my mac/iphone so that each time I sync, the iPhone will dump any new pictures I have taken into an iPhoto album AUTOMATICALLY?
I have it set up now so that each time I sync the iPhone, iPhoto opens but I still have to manually select "import all" and even still they dive into 8 different "untitled" events. I want to just plug in the phone and any new pics I have taken dump into an event or an album called Pics From iPhone or something like that and then I can sort them however I please. Please someone help me with this, I feel like it should be a very easy solution.

I'm not aware of any option for iPhoto to automatically import photos from any digital camera when a digital camera is connected, including from the iPhone's camera roll.
The iPhoto auto-split into Events option or preferences when importing photos from a digital camera is as follows:
One event per day.
One event per week.
Two-hour gaps.
Eight-hour gaps.

  • No drag & drop function? (iphone photos to mac desktop)

Trying to just backup my photos that i take on my iPhone..... why can't I drag & drop them to my desktop (like i do from my camera memory cards)? Do I have to use iTunes - because it's very time consuming... more than that, it's hard to keep track of what you've backup up...

That is not possible. You cannot drag photos from the computer back to the camera roll. You have no access to the camera roll in that direction, only from the camera roll to the computer. To put pictures back on the phone from the comptuer requires iTunes and the sync process. You can select the photos you want in iTunes once the iPhone is connected, then select the photo tab, select the photos and perform a sync.
You cannot do it without iTunes.

  • Unable to syn iPhone photos to mac

I have been able to sync manually with a usb cable from my iPhone 4 to my Mac desktop in the past but it has become harder and harder until now I am unable to sync.
When asked to import images it is unable to complete the job and I wind up with the spinning pin wheel. After a while of this I Force quite iPhoto. I have seen that this is not an unfamiliar issue but I can't find an answer that works for me. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help. Works great when done in the proper order. Also we are using wifi to do this.

  • Manually add some photos to iPhone from mac

    Hi all,
Now I want to manually add some photos to iPhone from mac (no iTunes syncing) just drag from mac to iphone
Q: how do I do this? Is there way to use image capture app in reverse (send to iPhone from mac) ?

You can't just drag the photos or use Image Capture in reverse. I do it using iTunes but there are other methods such as PhotoStream or using a 3rd party app such as http://www.photosync-app.com

  • How do I set my iPhone photos to automatically download to my Mac?

I'm running OS 10.5.8 and want to set Image Capture to automatically download my photos from my iPhone when I plug it in. I know this is possible with Image Capture running on OS 10.6, but I can't upgrade since my processor isn't an Intel. I would write a script in Automator to do it but I don't know how! Thanks!

  • How can I (automatically) import new photos of the photostream on my local disc (Mac)? Don't want to use new icloud service. Simply import.

    New Photo app on Mac.
How can I (automatically) import new photos of the photo stream on my local disc (Mac)? Don't want to use new icloud service. Simply import.
With iPhoto every new photo was automatically imported and saved on my local disk (with "full resolution" that's what I only need). In the new photo app I have still my photo stream and when I move a photo (drag and drop from the photo stream) to a new album it indicates a (plus). My understanding is that the photo is now copied to my local disk. But when I deleted the photo in the photo stream it was also deleted in the album !?
If that is the case I can use the photo stream only until I reach the max of 1.000 photos, then I have to delete photos and I will have no copy left.
How can I "physically" copy a photo of the photo stream to my local disk? I just want to "transfer" all pictures taken with Ipads, Iphones to my central storage on the Mac. Please don't propose to connect it via iTunes (cable) to the Mac.
    Any other suggestions?
    thx
    -Tom

The amazing device cannot do it because no amazing developer has written an app for it.  There is some interest, others have asked, but i have a hunch that the market is fairly limited, and no developer has jumped at the chance just yet.
Any sort of tethered approach means try to feed the material to the pad thru the cck.  Which means the app would have to use the allowed/existing cck pathway in a manner that does not violate the sandbox rules.  That may be the problem.

  • Picture Files staying in iPhone after import to Photos for Mac

After I connect my iPhone to my Mac, Photos asks to import. So I imported the photos. If I didn't ask to erase, Photos continues asking you to import the same pictures. In iPhoto I didn't have this issue. Any comments or suggestions? I am duplicating files unnecessarily.

I don't see an easy way to delete previously imported items, but these step worked for me. Be careful to make sure you do have copies of all these photos before you decide to delete them again!
    1. Check the 'Delete items after import'.
    2. REIMPORT all the 'Already imported' items.
    3. Open the 'Last Import' album, and delete all those photos.
For your Secondary question, when the "Open Photos for this device" box is checked, that means when you plug in that iPhone, the Photos app will open up automatically.

  • HT201302 How to import only the newest iPhone photos to iPhoto library/Mac

I have an iPhone 4s and every time I connect my iPhone to my Mac it downloads all the photos.
How do I import only the newest photos? To have to check what I already have in albums and select only the latest would be very
time consuming. There must be an easier way.

When iPhone is connected and selected in computer iTunes, in Photos tab >

  • HT1229 How can you transfer the  photo library from  an iphone to a mac.

I have a photo library on my iphone which was synced to the iphone from my pc.  Now I have a mac laptop and I cannot figure out how to get the photo library onto my mac from the phone.  The photo stream has transferred over but none of my other albums.

If the photos are in your Camera Roll on the iPhone connect the iPhone to your Mac, launch iPhoto and import directly into your library on the Mac.

  • Add To iPhoto in Mail fails for iPhone photos sent in multiple emails

Someone takes six photos with an iPhone and emails them to you.
You get 6 emails. Each one has a photo.jpg image attached.
You click the SAVE pop-down menu in the Mail message and choose Save To iPhoto. The photo is imported into iPhoto. You delete that email and do the same thing with the second email with the second photo...
BUT, somewhere the Mail-iPhoto smartness turns dumb, as the rest of the photos will not show up in iPhoto. (This may have something to do with the fact that the iPhone sends each photo with the attachment name of photo.jpg and somehow Mail or iPhoto think that photo has already been added to iPhoto).
I was having this problem with photos emailed to me by iPhone users and tested it myself.
Sure enough, after the first photo.jpg attachment is imported all subsequent Add To iPhoto operations of iPhone sent images fail... even if the photos have been sent from separate iPhones from separate email addresses.
All the attachments are kept by Mail in uniquely numbered folders in the attachments folder of my receiving email account in Library/Mail but since each attachments is named photo.jpg that seems to throw off iPhoto OR Mail (because even the quick progress update of "Adding photo to iPhoto" does not show up on these attempts).
I checked if quitting and restarting Mail fixed allowed the second photo to be added to iPhoto but it did not. Quitting iPhoto after EACH import/Add To iPhoto operation allowed each photo to be added into iPhoto.
This may have to do with the iPhoto bugs handling large libraries (I have 19000 images in it) like the spinning wheel of Names window after imports, etc.
Just sharing if others have the same experience sending 3 iPhone photos by email to themselves and seeing if all can be added to iPhoto from Mail. Thanks.
    Imran

    Yes it is a bug
Report to apple. iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
You can work around BR saving to the desktop and importing or opening in quick view, expanding to full screen and saving to iPhoto

  • I am trying to download my photos from my iphone to my mac-iphoto. It keeps trying but about halfway through it says there is an error with a photo therefore it wont download any of my pictures or videos.  It wont tell me which picture is the issue.

I took a lot of pictures and video on my recent trip to Ireland.  Now I am trying to download the photos and videos from my iphone to my mac - iphoto.  I have tried 3 times and each time (at a different point) I get a message telling me that there was an error with one of my photos and it wont load the pictures.  Help!!

Try using Image Capture to download to a folder on the Desktop.  If there's a damaged file on the iPhone that's preventing the download you can isolate it with Image Capture and then delete it from the iPhone.

  • How can I Move photos from Mac computer to iPhone

I have no problem moving photos from the iPhone to my Mac using 'Image Capture.'
Now, I would like to know how to move pictures from my Mac to the iPhone. I can pretty well imagine that I first need to set the pixel dimensions of whatever I'm going to transfer to the iPhone to the iPhone standard. To do that, I will take an unaltered iPhone pic on my Mac and read the dimensions to get the standard. Past that point I'm not sure what is the best way to move the picture onto the iPhone.
Any recommendations on how to do this?
    TIA,
    Ken

Here is what I found doing a search of similar topics:
To sync photos from a folder on your hard disk to your device
Drag the images you want into a folder on your computer. If you want images to appear in separate photo albums on your device, create folders inside the main folder and drag images into the new folders.
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
Select Choose Folder from the pop-up menu and choose your main image folder.
