Automatically delete notes below a certain length

Kind of a weird question, but is there a way to do this? I've got some particularly messy midi data that I need to clean up, and it would be much easier if I could just have logic automatically delete notes that are below a certain length or velocity. Is this possible?

No you cannot automatically replace noise below a certain level with "real silence". However you can use the Dynamic Processing effect under Effects/Amplitude and Compression to automatically reduce the level of lower level audio noise. This is called Downward Expansion or Noise Gating. There are a couple of presets named Noise Gate and another called Compander. But you will have to spend some time experimenting and tweaking to optimize the effect with your particular audio file.

But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap.

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

I don't believe that this will happen, however, the entire iPhone will shut down when the iPhone reaches the auto-shutdown power level. There is no way to turn that Off other that connecting the iPhone to power.

When I check in the capture scratch folder, sure enough the whole clip is not there!
Is there some glitch in final cut express that only allows short clips to be transferred in full?

I did this and it was already unchecked. So this is not the answer...
The strange thing is, I have been logging and transferring with FCE for 2 yrs without any problems at all with shorter clips, but have come up against the problem with long clips (over 5 or so min) the whole time. I got around it by simply making sure I stopped recording after less than 5 min while shooting footage. OR if I accidentally got a long clip, I import into imovie and then import into FCE. Not very streamline and I worry about compressions altering quality!
I am now trying to import a 20 min and a 17 min clip and it only transfers around 3 minutes of each, I have re-tried several times and it happens repeatedly. The blue circle in the transfer list shows up as a half blue circle instead of full. Clip cuts off after 3 or so minutes.

If you suspect they are being marked as junk and deleted, turn off the auto-delete. Being that Office is a Microsoft product, you should ask them how to do that: http://www.microsoft.com/mac.

.lck files not automatically deleting

We save all of our .fm book and chapter files to a central server, and recently we've noticed that when we close a file the .lck file does not automatically delete. Thus, we are having to manually delete this before updating books, opening files, etc. We're using FM8 on PC's with Win 7 x64. We have FM set to run in XP x32 compatability mode, which is working pretty well for us aside from the aformentioned issue.
Has anybody else run into this? Any ideas on a fix?

Do the lock files actually still exist?
If you're discovering them because FM is complaining on open, then yes they effectively still exist (although possibly only in server FS cache).
But if you're merely seeing them in a file browser, they may or may not be there. Doing a refresh may or may not clear up matters,

I have a 3GS iPhone that is somehow automatically deleting emails, actually moving them to the trash. I do not want this to happen. I've shut off any reference to deleting emails in the iPhone, but this happens intermittently.

The problem is that the iPhone is automatically, without user input, deleting everything from the InBox. This is determined by the log on the server. I traced the IP of the device that is deleting the email back to the iPhone.

Thanks, for info, iPod Classic is a slower machine compared the Nano, unfortunately, if you read these discussions, majority of the freezes involved iTunes 10. Although if might be just slow and some impatient user just disconnect the iPod ands cause more problems. ( Yes I also did that but safely by doing a iPod Hard Reset, before disconnecting).

Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC, do not use any USB Hub.
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

I think it must be an IMAP account then, & in Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Advanced>Keep copies for Offline viewing:>Don't keep copies, then on the Server, or maybe it's just this one itself, but on the Server you have a setting to remove eMails after 30 days.
If it's a POP account we'd have to investigate that... but you didn't say so I'm guessing here.

Automatic deletion of PR

Hi,
I have requirement like PRs not released in 20 days after creation and PRs not assigned to PO in 30 days have to be deleted automatically.
Please guide how we can do this.

Have you analyzed why the process is stucking?
Deletion is not a goods process, it might be a solution, but does not really take care to cure the problem.
If the requisition is created by MRP run, and is not converted into a PO within a certain time frame, and you delete it, then MRP will create the requisition again with the next run. Because the requirement has not changed.
if the PR is created again, then what is the benefit of deleting it after a certain period.
if the requisitioner creates a requisition manually, then he should take care and monitor the situation at least till it is converted into a PO.
