Automatically disable auto lock when connected to charging device?

Hello,
I am aware that you can disable auto-lock in the settings by selecting 'never.'
Is there a way the auto-lock feature can be disabled automatically when the iPod Touch is connected to a power source like a dock, car charger, etc?
It's a pain to have to change this setting each time I get into the car, and when I forget, it has the potential to become a safety issue. (Of course, I would never mess with my iPod settings while driving...)
Perhaps a 3rd party app that does this??
I've seen this question posted on various forums, but have never seen a good answer...

Hello Ats65,
Make the pairing again and make the device update with system update
Also check another Bluetooth keyboard if available.
Best Regards,
Tanuj

Not necessarily. It doesn't have to unlock, just stop it from locking. Oh well... I was hoping there was an ap somewhere.

  • SPDIF output is disabled when connecting a HDMI device

    Hello, hope someone can help.
I've got a Toshiba SAT U500 with Realtek audio driver. I want to send the video to the TV (via HDMI) and still send audio via SPDIF to the digital receiver. By some reason it is automatically enabling HDMI audio when I connect the TV, and on the SPDIF output (icon on Windows 7 -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound) a telephone sign appears.
What does that telephone sign mean? How to make the system not to disable SPDIF output when connecting a HDMI device?
    Thanx in advance!!!

    Howdy Gdad_Edw,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the article linked below, it provides information and troubleshooting tips that can help you resolve the no video issue with your Apple Digital AV Adapter and your iPad.
About Apple Digital AV Adapters for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
    Troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue using the Apple Digital AV Adapter or VGA Adapter:
Disconnect and reconnect the adapter from the iOS device and display.
Connect directly to the TV, projector, or external display using a known-good VGA or HDMI cable.
Remove any VGA or HDMI extension cables or converters.
Note that accessories that convert a VGA or HDMI signal to other video formats (DVI, Composite, Component) are not supported.
Ensure that you are using the latest version of iOS. Some Apple Digital AV Adapters require iOS 5.1 or later.

  • Iphone not auto syncing when connected

i have the auto sync when connected option enabled on itunes, but when i plug my phone in, nothing happens.
when i launch itunes, then dis- and reconnect the phone, it's fine and syncs everything. ideas? this just started happening.

I've always had to open iTunes, then plug in phone for it to see it. I've never been able to just plug in my iPhone and watch iTunes get pulled up automatically like with my iPod. I just figured this is normal.

  • Iphone 6 automatically turn on even not connect to charger, why would this happen and how to solve it?

iphone 6 automatically turn on even not connect to charger, why would this happen and how to solve it?

I'm not an apple expert or anything, but after hearing this from a coworker (and doing a quick google search) many of the generic chargers do not work in the 5s (especially after the most recent update.) I'm thinking this may be the problem in your case...the charger is not working so the phone just needs a good charge from either an apple certified charger or a generic that will actually work with the phone. I've read some people are able to pull the cable out, turn it around and then plug it back in facing the opposite direction to get it to work. Many have reported, however, that even when this remedies the cable issue, its still won't charge the phone while it is completely dead (which is likely the case since it won't power on at all.) So if you haven't fixed your problem by now, go buy a new charger and see what happens. You might be able to go into and apple store and borrow a charger there for a few minutes to see if this actually IS the problem. That way you don't waste your money before buying.

  • AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED

AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED  In Backup, NAS to USB AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED: What does this  actually mean, in BACKUP of Dashboard? Will it auto sync every time a change takes place on the NAS?   Or must the USB be removed and reinserted into the USB port on the MCM?

No, the clue's in the name It's a one-off single process, just triggered by the drive connection rather than by manual starting via the dashboard. When you connect the drive, it will trigger the backup, which will then proceed to the end and stop just as if you had manually started the backup. But at the end, if you want to backup again, you have to either manually restart it or disconnect and reconnect the drive. As it stands today, there is no "auto sync" option within the dashboard between the built-in drives and USB connected ones. It can be set up using SSH and a cron job, but that will be messing aroud with the NAS at the base command line level and will probably invalidate your warranty if things go wrong. Have a look through the suggestions thread as this kind of question (sync'ing in general, not specifically NAS<>USB) comes up quite regularly and has probably been made there, where you can support it and comment yourself.

  • Phone doesn't turn on. And keeps on blinking when connected to charger

Please help me.. Phone doesn't turn on. And keeps on blinking when connected to charger.. The logo keeps coming up and then vanishes..

Similar problem here. Iphone 5 32gb met iOS 8.1.2 keeps blinking apple logo when connected to the charger but doesn't start up. iTunes doesn't recognise it, but i managed to get it into recovery mode. But sadly the update stops with an unknown error 2001. Changing cables, ports or even laptops doesn't help. DFU mode gives similar results.
Any suggestions where to go from here?

  • Will my Mac automatically stop using wifi when connected to an Ethernet enabled thunderbolt display?

Will my 2012 Macbook pro retina  automatically stop using wifi when connected to an Ethernet enabled thunderbolt display?

    Depends.
If you go in System Preferences / Network, you will see a list of all the network interfaces your current configuration has. If you click on the gear icon next to the minus sign, the drop menu will offer "Set Service Order...". There you can prioritize the order of use: Ethernet above Wi-Fi and wireless will be ignored if Ethernet is available.
Note that the Wi-Fi card will remain active and associated with an access point nonetheless. It just won't be used for communications by the OS and apps.

  • How do I stop iTunes from auto-launching when connecting iPod.

I have found one method of doing this set out below.
You may want to stop iTunes from auto-launching whenever you plug in your iPod. To do this, open iTunes, and select the iPod in the left-hand Source window. Four buttons will then appear in the lower right-hand corner of the iTunes window. Click the left-most button with the iPod icon on it. This will bring up the iPod Preferences dialog. Uncheck the option labeled "Open iTunes when attached." You probably also want to prevent iTunes from trying to automatically synchronize your iPod when you connect by selecting the "Manually manage songs and playlists" option in the same Preferences dialog.
I am unable to find the iPod icon in the left hand Source window, maybe if I connect my iPod an icon will appear, but I don't want to do this in case stuff is transferred between the iPod and Comp or vice versa.
Sorry to be so long winded, but it was difficult to explain without being so.
If any one knows of another way to do what I am trying to do
Perhaps they would let me know.
    ASP   Windows XP Pro

okay. in a 7.0.x, we no longer get the "ipod options" icon when the ipod is plugged in and selected in the sourcelist (the area to the left of the iTunes screen). instead, the ipod options and preferences display for us in the main library screen.
"Open iTunes when this ipod is connected" is kept down at the bottom of the "Summary" tab. (scroll down to the bottom of that tab to see everything under the "Options" heading.)
"manually manage music" (or "manually manage music and videos" if you've got a video-capable ipod) is also kept down at the bottom of the "Summary" tab in the Options area.
for a technique for connecting the ipod without automatically syncing (if you have an automatic syncing option set on the ipod already), and then changing the options to "manually manage music", see:
How to keep iTunes from automatically updating your iPod
unfortunately, that document is also written for itunes 6.0.x or earlier. so in your case the instructions under the "Now that you're logged in as the Guest user, it's time to get back to iTunes and your iPod:" section at steps 4, 5 and 6 should read:
    4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Summary Tab
    5. Check the "Manually manage music" checkbox.
    6. Click "Apply".

  • How do I get the backlight to stay on, when connected to charger / external power ?

    Hi,
Is there a way of setting the backlight on my 8900 Curve so that when it is connected to the USB or Mains charger,
( and therefore not draining the battery ) the backlight stays on ?
I can only find settings in Options / Screen/Keyboard, which I have set to leave the backlight on for 90 seconds, and dim automatically ?
Obviously I don't want to leave the backlight on for longer than necessary when it is NOT connected to external power,.
I was hoping that there are either some separate settings that I haven't discovered,
which only apply when connected to external power, or failing that maybe an App that will do the job ???
    Thanks,
If you found my answer ( or anyone else's ) to be helpful, don't forget to click the Kudos button !

When you first plug your phone in, it should go to the clock and that does stay lit. Other than that, there is no way to set the phone so that balcklight stays on.

  • [SOLVED] Alsa: How to disable auto-mute when plugging in headphones?

I have a set of headphones plugged into my workstation permanently (the headphone jack is hard to reach so I don't want to plug those headphones in and out) as well as some speakers. Jack sensing works perfectly - when I unplug the headphones, the speakers are unmuted and when I plug the headphones back in the speakers are muted. Now as I said, my headphones are plugged in permanently and occasionally I want to have sound on the speakers at the same time. So far I have not found a way to have both headphones and speakers unmuted simultaneously.
I originally thought this was a problem with Pulseaudio (I am using Cinnamon as my desktop) but when I directly go to the Alsa hw device I get exactly the same behavior. The sound chip is a built-in VIA VT1818S and aplay displays the correct cards and devices:
    $ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: VT1818S Analog [VT1818S Analog]
    Subdevices: 1/1

card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
    Subdevices: 1/1

I verified with "mpg123 -a hw:0,0" that I get no sound on the speakers when the headphones are plugged in and vice versa. I tried a lot of different settings with alsamixer and amixer to no avail. These are my current settings:
    $ amixer -c 0 contents

If I read the Alsa kernel docs right, the VIA driver simply does not provide any option to disable auto-muting: http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-ker … xt;hb=HEAD.
I would be glad if I had misread/misunderstood something or there were any other means of achieving what I am after? All I found so far is lots of posts where auto-muting did not work but very few people seem to want the opposite. FWIW, my old installation of Ubuntu 11.10 was working fine in that regard, i.e. it probably did not support auto-muting for my hardware.

Solved, well, good enough for me anyway. In alsamixer, I enabled "Independent HP". Independent HP means that two of the six surround channels get diverted to the headphones. Alsa creates a second device, one for line out and the other one for the headphones. It is a very neat feature that is meant to allow you to e.g. do a voice call with your headphones while you play music through the speakers at the same time. I can now choose in PulseAudio whether I want output to my headphones or the speakers. It required that in /etc/pulse/default.pa, I added the line "load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2" after this paragraph:
    ### Automatically load driver modules depending on the hardware available
    .ifexists module-udev-detect.so
    load-module module-udev-detect

    load-module module-detect

    # Take Independent HP into use.
    load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2
All this really is a work-around for two bugs:
Call it a bug or a missing feature, but it does not look like the Alsa snd_hda_codec_via driver allows to disable auto-muting.
Before the change to default.pa, PulseAudio already allows me to switch between two output devices - "analog output" and "analog headphones". "Analog headphones" however does the same thing as "analog output" and plays sound on the external speakers and not the headphones. I suspect that the PulseAudio module-udev-detect detects both Alsa devices but wires them wrongly.
The above still doesn't give me what I originally asked, i.e. sound on both speakers and headphones at the same time, but I realized that I don't really need that. I just need a way to switch on speakers occasionally while my headphones are plugged in.
