Automatically Login Windows System User In TestStand 3.1

I have checked the "Automatically Login Windows System User" in TestStand 3.1. However, when I re-start TestStand I still have to enter the password each time. Why is this happening? Both the username and password do exist in the Users.ini file. I am using Windows XP SP3. I have already talked to a NI support engineer and they did not have an answer. Thanks for the help.
Felix

Hi ic2118,
Can you move the Users.ini file (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.1\Cfg) to a new location and restart TestStand. The file may have been corrupted and moving it out of the Cfg folder will force TestStand to create the file again.

  • How to get window system user?

    Hi,
How to get window system user use PL/SQL(form develope6i)?

If you don't use Oracle database then you will have to do one of two things:
    (1) Now I'm back in the office I can check D2KWUTIL. The version I have comes with Forms6.0, so it is somewhat out of date, but it has a method called WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.Get_Windows_Username - which works for NT/95 only, although I'm sure a later version will support more recent OS.
    (2) If that's no good then you'll have to use whatever facilities your database offers: I only know Oracle.
I also repeat my suggestion that you try the Forms forum for additional help. This is the Database forum and so is focused on serverside Oracle PL/SQL. For your needs the Developer Suite forums are better.
    Cheers, APC

  • Login window hides user with UID 1000

I had to change my primary user's UniqueID to 1000 to access NFS shares on a linux box.
Ever since then the account became "hidden" in the sense that regardless of the login window's option of "show list of users" I can only log in by selecting the "Other" option and supplying the username+password.
I have researched extensively and some people over different forums reported this behaviour as well specific to UID 1000. Nevertheless this "feature" is absolutely undocumented.
Would anyone know of a plist option that puts this user back to the login screen list?
I suppose alternatively I could change the UID back to 501 on both the Mac and the linux box so they'd be in sync...

    Thanks for the responce.
I realize that I need to chown some user specific folderes and files. I also did that on my current system.
Nevertheless...some thinges are still not working properly. I belive im not quite there yet.
I would like to know how to do this the simple but correct way....in LION
I think its a bit overkill to use your scripts, due to all the LDAP stuff.
There must be a specific way to add users with specific UID on LION on a single OSX installation.
I have found lots of halv way there solutions on the net..but would realy like to see something more official!
I kind of made a workaround with my NFS share on my linux sever, using a special way to mount them avoiding hte UID problems.
On the linux box in etc/exports...i export the NFS share linke this.
    /media/RAID5/xxxx *(rw,async,no_subtree_check,insecure,anonuid=1000,anongid=1000,all_squash)
And ...in Finder...on the mac ...i right click and "Connect to server" like this
    nfs://xxxIPxxxxx/media/RAID5/xxxx
    xxxx= some folder do share.
All my linux users are as standard UID 1000, but if anyone with a drifferent UID mounts the nfs share ...they are regarded as uid 1000 in any case avoidnig file premission conflicts.
NFS is not the only reason I would like to use same UID on all systems.
Sharing files on harddisks, and dualboot systems with linux/osx are another reason.
Linux has read/write to HFS+ if not journaled..!!
(I know this is more info than needed, but if someone else reads this...having NFS issues..thay may pick up some idears ;o)

  • Key Sequence To Return To Login Window Without User Logging Out

Anyone know the key sequence to return to the login window without requiring the user to log out?
I know this is possible from the menu bar when you have fast-user switching enabled, but I'm trying to get rid of that menu bar icon but I'm looking for an alternative.

Create a script in Script Editor with the following:
do shell script "/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu\\ Extras/User.menu/Contents/Resources/CGSession -suspend"

  • Can't disable automatic login (wifi) in Mt. Lion 10.8.4

Dear all, why i can't disable automatic login in Mt. Lion 10.8.4??
    i'm using a MBP 2.4Ghz/Intel core i5 / late 2011 model, running 10.8.4
each time i turn the wifi on and select the name of network, it will automatically login without asking my password, (I just want it ask me for password every time coz i don't want the password stay on the computer!)
and i had did the following already but the nightmare still go on, please kindly let me know if the issue can be fix? thanks a lot!!!
    1. network panel : click advance and remove all network names in the window, and unchecked the box "Remember networks this computer has joined".
    2. Security Panel : selected "Disable automatic login"
    3. Users & Groups panel : Automatic login : selected "off"
    4.inside the Library / Preferences folder : "com.apple.loginwindow.plist", "com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" & " NetworkInterfaces.plist" all are deleted
    thanks again!!!

Open Keychain Access and locate the entry for the network logon, select the entry and press the Delete key. That will remove the password from your Keychain and the system will have to request your password to log onto the network. Note: keychain entries are securely encrypted so even if someone has access to your computer, it would be highly unlikely they would be able to retrieve the network password.

  • How do i add a login window when i turn on my computer?

when i log out of my account ofcourse it goes to the login window but when i turn the computer on again another time it just logs into my account without even asking for a password so please reply

Go to the 'accounts' menu on 'System Preferences' and disable de automatic login for your user.
Next time you'll need to insert your password.
In the 'Security' menu I think there's the 'Disble automatic login' too.

Perhaps "grep autologin -R /etc /usr/lib" would point you to something.
    -edit-
Maybe grep for "getty", as apparently "-a" is equivalent to "--autologin".
    -edit-
Okay. Remove "-a" in the file you pasted.
    -edit-
You could also remove the symlink and the file it points to and create there a symlink to the file coming with systemd, as your file differs somewhat from what I have.
    ls -l /etc/systemd/system/getty.target.wants/[email protected]
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 38 Jun 21 2012 /etc/systemd/system/getty.target.wants/[email protected] -> /usr/lib/systemd/system/[email protected]

Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database 'ABC'. [CLIENT: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
Here is some information on the instance:

    Hi,
The error was thrown when the SCOM components connected to the backend SCOM databases.
You can specify a domain account, grant it the sysadmin role and the error should be gone.
Also, see the replies in your previous thread:

  • Automatic login in mavericks not working. I still have to enter user name and password

I upgraded the original Hard Drive to SSD drive.  After the upgrade, I can no longer automatically log in.  I now have to enter my user name and password.  I tried resetting automatic login in Users and Groups but it doesn't work in Mavericks.

    Hello,
To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

  • Why are deleted user accounts showing up in login window and fast user switching menu?

There are several old user accounts, just test accounts when I was studying for ACSA that I deleted, which continue to show up in the login window and the fast user switcher menu. I deleted them before upgrading to Lion (I think it was before). The accounts do not exsist in the /Users folder, nor even the /Users/Deleated Users folder. Additionally they do not show up in the list of users in System Preferences. Can anyone give some advice on how to remove these "ghost" accounts from the login window and drop down menu?
    Thanks

Hi. Thanks for the link. Sorry it took me a while to get to this, the problem is not a show stopper, so to speak, so tried your advice when I had the time. Unfortunatly it did not work. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

  • Can't login, the system through me back to the login window.

I need help. Once I tried to login under admin account but the system through me out after accepting a psw. It happens like it checks the psw shows the blue screen and then return to the login window. Meantime I can succesfully log in under another user account. I tried to change psw and login but it doesn't help. The system is friendly accepting the admin psw for all the possible aims but not the login. Before that happend the system was blaiming me for overfulled hard drive. Now I cleaned it but that doens't help. What shall I do, in order to log in, what is wrong?
I have a time machine copy but recovery of admin user folder didn't help. Many thanks in advance for your assistance!

You can use the install DVD to reset the password, repair the disk and repair permissions. If you don't have the install DVD you could try the following.
Print the following and then follow these instructions very carefully - at each stage wait for processes to complete - spaces are important:
    1 - shutdown
2 - start in single user mode by holding command (Apple key) and S while it starts
3 - type the following and hit the return key to repair the disk
    /sbin/fsck -fy
4 - type the following and hit the return key
    /sbin/mount -uw /
5 - type the following and hit the return key
    rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
5 - type the following and hit the return key
    shutdown -h now
    6 - start the Mac
7 - The above tricks the Mac into thinking it is starting for the first time. Follow the various processes as normal but DO NOT use a name that has been used on the Mac before. It will set up a new admin account without removing existing accounts with different names.
8 - Use the new admin account
9 - If necessary enable the root user (see Mac help) to reset passwords on other accounts.

  • Windows 7 automatic login to AD and Edir

Any one have clear instructions on how to accomplish automatic login to a windows AD domain and edirectory?
Using Novell Client 2 Sp3 for windows 7 (IR6). Novell is the primary login.
Goal is to enable the automatic login to both as user "install" .. sysprep the image.. deploy the image so it automatically logs in as the user. Installs associated default zenworks bundles, with the last bundle removing the automatic login registry keys.. then reboot and be ready for the user to login to.
used to use autolog.exe from Tommy for XP, which I understand doesn't work with windows 7.

Lol apparently I just need to talk myself through this process :P
Seems to be working at the moment. Here's what I did. Computer is joined to AD domain and has Novell Client installed/primary logon. I haven't tried this with a sysprep'd image yet, but hoping the sysprep process doesn't change any of these keys:
    HKLM\Software\Novell\Login
    REG_SZ AutoAdminLogon = 1
    REG_SZ DefaultLocationProfile = Default
REG_SZ DefaultUserName = install (or whatever username you intend to use)
REG_SZ DefaultPassword = password (or whatever password associated with above username)
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    REG_SZ AutoAdminLogon = 1
    REG_SZ DefaultDomainName = yourdomainname
REG_SZ DefaultUserName = install (or whatever username)
REG_SZ DefaultPassword = install (or whatever password associated with above username)
    REG_DWORD DisableCAD = 1 (disable the Ctrl+Alt+Del prompt)

  • Login window only shows one user account

    Hi,
Anyone has an idea what's happening?
    I'm running Yosemite on MBPr 15" Mid-2012
When I power on or reboot the laptop, on the login window it only shows one user account, my account which is the Admin account.  It doesn't show the secondary normal user account I created for my wife.  However once I'm logged in and I hit log-off, then it shows the 2 user accounts available for login.
    Thanks in advance!

The lock is on the bottom left not bottom right. Sorry mixed that up.
Letting other users unlock the drive
If you want to make the Mac available to a user that doesn't currently have unlock capabilities, log in as a user that can unlock the disk. When you see your own desktop, choose "Log Out (user name)" from the Apple () menu. Also, you can unlock the disk, then switch to another user from Fast User Switch menu in the menu bar.
If you want to grant existing users the ability to unlock the drive on their own, open the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences. Select the FileVault tab and click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the window. Enter your admin privileges when prompted. Click the "Enable Users..." button to add existing users to the list of accounts that can unlock the disk.
    Hope that helps,

  • System Unresponsive Once Login Window Appears

Tomorrow afternoon I'll be brought an Intel Mac mini bought almost a year ago in hopes I can fix a problem.  When it boots, it displays the login window, but then doesn't respond to any action, whether selecting a user or clicking on the restart or shutdown buttons.  It turned out that the wireless keyboard batteries were dead, but replacing them resulted in a "connected" message but no improvement.  I had the user reboot into normal and safe mode, but neither helped.  What type of things should I look for?  Thanks for any advice.

When I had a chance to look at that system, it worked fine.  I wonder if the problem was entirely due to weak batteries in the bluetooth keyboard.  When I booted it, I did see a message about the clock being set to a time before 2008, but I'm not sure what that would have to do with the login problem.
