Automatically overide Auto-lock function when on exterlal power

Is there way to automatically disable auto lock on a 3GS when hooked up to external power?

That would mean if anybody finds your phone all they have to do is connect it to external power and then.......
Not necessarily. It doesn't have to unlock, just stop it from locking. Oh well... I was hoping there was an ap somewhere.

  • Auto-locks even when I am using application!!  Please help

    Hi there..
My iPhone autolocks even when I am using application on my iPhone!! eg. Using tomtom or playing a game!! Anyone had simillar experiance?
My phone is setup to suto lock if inactive for 2 minutes. So using an application should be considered an activity and auto-lock function should not kick in. Please correct me if i am wrong.
    Many thanks
    Raf

Inactivity is judged by the iPhone as a lack of user input (aka touching it) for 2 minutes. Being in an App will not change this feature.
The only solution is to change your autolock settings.

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Connect the iPod to your computer and try to restore via iTunes. Try placing in Recovery mode if necessary to restore.
    - If you can't turn the iPod completely off, let the batter fully drain. After charging for at lerast anhour try again
    - If still not successful time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My guess is they don't care. Most likely they're illiterate and don't know what a colon is for. They probably think it's a little-used character. Remember: these are the people who don't know the difference between "deprecate" and "depreciate".
I have the same colon problem as you do. But it's not the biggest problem I have encountered in Lion. If it was only that I'd be Mr. Delighted with Lion. There's worse than having a colon - uh -  that won't cooperate. A lot worse, in Lion.

  • Automatically disable auto lock when connected to charging device?

    Hello,
I am aware that you can disable auto-lock in the settings by selecting 'never.'
Is there a way the auto-lock feature can be disabled automatically when the iPod Touch is connected to a power source like a dock, car charger, etc?
It's a pain to have to change this setting each time I get into the car, and when I forget, it has the potential to become a safety issue. (Of course, I would never mess with my iPod settings while driving...)
Perhaps a 3rd party app that does this??
I've seen this question posted on various forums, but have never seen a good answer...

    Hello Ats65,
Make the pairing again and make the device update with system update
Also check another Bluetooth keyboard if available.
    Best Regards,
    Tanuj

  • IPhone 6 audio stops playing with auto lock and when earphones pulled out

When playing an mp3 through Dropbox on my iPhone 6, by audio has been freezing when the phone goes into auto lock. It never used to do this, and I don't think I've changed any settings.
I tried playing music through iTunes to see if it was a dropbox issue. The same thing happens. It also happens if I"m listening through the earphones and I pull the earphones out of the phone. The audio just turns off. iTunes is still open, but it stops playing.
Does anyone know if this is an iPhone 6 thing?

So my problem remains with the audio freezing when the phone goes into auto lock then. This didn't used to happen.
    cheers,

No, that shouldn't happen. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the apple appears?

my iphone5 does not have passcode setting option. this is for auto-lock function

    Hello SLLH
You can find the settings for the Passcode Lock in Settings > General > Passcode Lock. If you are looking for Auto-Lock, then go to Settings > General > Auto-Lock. If you are not seeing these options then you may need to do a reset settings on your iPhone, which is located at General > Settings >Reset > Reset All Settings.

  • Auto-lock ipad when it is tapped too hard?

I have a small boy, and he LOVES to bash on the ipad when I'm using it. It flips out, he grabs it off me, he loves to flap away at it like a demon because the screen flips and apps change. woo pretty colours, etc.
But sometimes I'm in Messages, or in Mail, and he's such a speed demon at touching it that up has come a new item and he's sent random garble to 5 different people.
Is there an APP or a SETTING that I can put in so that the iPad can detect that it's being spun around too quickly, or has its screen touched (actually, bashed) too hard, and automatically lock?
This would be a most satisfying tool for me. Currently if I have to use the iPad when my little guy is around I have to go to another room - and then it's TANTRUM TIME!

No, there isn't currently a setting, and a third-party app wouldn't be able to do it due to the sandboxed nature of iOS. I could suggest leaving feedback for Apple, but by the time if/when it is added your boy will probably have left home (or at least be old enough to know better) : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • How to Turn Off the Auto-Select Function When Clicking In a Document?

Whenever I click my cursor within any document (Mail, Text, this post) sometimes an entire word is selected (highlighted in blue) rather than the cursor just being there blinking & ready for me to type. If I click again the entire line is selected, then the whole paragraph.
This is VERY frustrating when all I want to do is place my cursor within the document to edit or begin typing. If I'm not careful and click in a document and just start typing, the auto-selected text is deleted. Yikes!
Only my Mac Mini with the Leopard OS 10.5.8 does this, not my PowerBook w. Tiger OS 10.4.11. Thanks for any advice on this.

    Correct, Sig.
When I checked the Double-Click speed in prefs, it was set all the way to the left -- SLOW. When I set it half-way to the right, problem was solved. Thanks much.

  • I have a MacBook Pro 2008 with 17 inch screen. Experiencing a lock up when turning on power to boot up. While booting up it goes to gray screen with Apple logo and disc spinning icon running and doesn't go to my desktop. Any solutions to the problem?

I have an early 2009 17 inch MacBook Pro that just went on the fritz. When turning on the power it will go into boot up mode to the gray screen with the apple logo, then the disc icon will be running and will continue running, not allowing to proceed to my desk top screen. It's pretty much locked up at this point where I have to do a forced shut down by holding down the power button. I've tried everything that I know of such as taking battery out and pressing power button for 5 seconds and then reinstalling battery. I've cleaned inside of computer with compressed air duster in can as well as other key commands for resets. I've read that this is a common problem with the earlier MacBook Pros. Is this a problem that I can fix or does it have to be taken in for service? Any solutions to the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This could be a software/state problem or a hardware problem.  Here are steps to resolve the former.
