Automatically playing multiple movies one after another

I want to put in my DVD and see a menu of 6 separate movie files (ie, I do NOT want to auto play the first movie).
But when I do click play on the first movie, I want it to automatically go to the 2nd movie and play that, then the 3rd, etc.
Is this possible?

Hi cornfellow
Welcome to apple discussions. If you happen to be working with chapter markers in either FCP or iMovie (version 6 for example) then iDvd has the ability to generate a play all button. But short of this, there is no way I'm aware of within iDVD alone to link different videos together like there is in DVDSP or Roxio Toast. I believe this has been covered a number of times on apple discussions / forums. For example:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1381250
iDvd does not have a play all check box like Toast does unfortunately (ie, see bottom left corner of image below). As already mentioned above, Toast is likely your best and most affordable option here. But if you have the time and extra money, then I highly recommend learning to use DVDSP also.

  • ITunes no longer plays TV Shows one after another (Continual Playback)

iTunes is no longer playing TV episodes back to back for me, even in a list. It has actually stopped moving to the next show when I hit the forward to next item button (the third arrow pointing right with the line adjacent to it), so I suspect a setting somewhere. Any help would be useful. Have tried a smart playlist, but same problems, it will not advance to the next show automatically.
The only thing I've done differently lately is to play some episodes on my Apple TV. However, as I try to watch the shows on my laptop, the Apple TV is sleeping, so I do not believe that that is part of the issue. I have OS X 10.8.4 and am using iTunes 11.0.4 (4) 64-bit on my Macbook Pro 17' Mid 2009.
Thank you ahead of time for any help.

As I stated in my last post, reinstalling the program made no change to its lack of functioning.
Is there anyone who will actually will read what I wrote, and actually try to help me fix this, who can help? Thank you!
    And if ed2345 reads this:
It is a shame people can't lose points for responses given here. ed2345, the response you gave clearly showed you did not read or pay attention to the relevant information given in my first post. The link you supplied only led to information I had already discussed and covered in that original post.
And then you said, "If those suggestions don't help, and you get tired of messing with it, put your WMP Rip setting on MP3, rip the CD, and add the resulting MP3s to your iTunes library." Trying to fix a program that previously worked, and clearly has BECOME dysfunctional, in favor of doing something every few days for the duration of this new computer's lifetime is supposed to be preferable to finding a one-time fix? That is not helpful. Nor is that reasonable to ask for someone to do that with a program that is supposed to be useful, and worked fine up until a week ago.
Adding more frustration to this problem by giving less than useless 'help' makes trying to figure this out even more aggravating.

  • Itunes 10 freezes when trying to play different songs one after another.

in itunes 10 when i try to play one song, then want to play another--it lags/freezes horribly. Itunes 9 didn't do this. is this just a bug--that might get fixed with an update?? please this is VERY ANNOYING.

As this doesn't relate to an iPod and is an iTunes question, please post here.

  • How can I make my movies to play one after another automatically?

I couldn't find the settings to play all my movies one after another.
    Any idea?

Given the number of threads bemoaning the lack of such features (mostly for music videos) and countless enhancement requests sent here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html
..and the lack of the facility being added in over a year make me think it's unlikely to ever happen but I'd love ot be proved wrong!

  • Play movie's one after another?

    Hey Mac-Lovers
I started my first project with iDVD. I made a menu with several movies located in a list. Now my question:
How may i play them movies one after the other? Now it's playing just one video and returning to the menu to select another, but that's not what I want. I want the DVD to play all movies.
    Kind regards
    Benny

    Hi x
    A. This can't be done in iDVD BUT DVD-Studio-Pro. But to a severe cost and steap
    learning curve.
    B. It can be faked. The Cost in this case is the reduced storing capacity of the
    DVD to about half.
In iMovie You have to assemble the parts into one full movie. Add this to Your
iDVD project. Name it as "Play all" in iDVD menu.
If You want it to start a bit into the movie and cont. to it's end, just add
chaptermarks in GarageBand or iDVD (I think). (or in iMovie HD 6 if You use this)

  • How to play two presentations from the DMP one after another and looping

Can anyone help me on this.I want to play two presenations one after another and looping from the DMP.

    Semuhtu,
The easiest solution for looping two or more DMD presentations
is to create a nested playlist within DMD.  You simply
create a master presentation and add a playlist to this
presentation.  Add the desired presentations to this playlist
and then schedule or send the Action to the DMP(s) to play
the Master Presentation.  The 2 or more child presentations will
play and loop until you stop it manually.
    Summary of Tasks
    * Using DMD create Presentations (2 or more) that you would like
      to display on the DMP-Display(s).
    * After the presentations are created, you will need to find out
what the URL addresses are for each presentation. Using the
"Actions" drop down on the DMM-DMP Manager screen, you select
a DMP and send the Presentation to the DMP.  Once the DMP displays
the presentation, access the DMP-DM Web admin page and copy the URL
address in the "Startup URLs-->Browser" field.   Repeat this process
for each DMD presentation that you want to loop.
      For example:
      http://dmm.company.com:8080/xTAS-core/appgen/clad/clad_95_.htm
      http://dmm.company.com:8080/xTAS-core/appgen/clad/clad_96_.htm
      and so on...
    * Another parameter or variable that you will need to find out is
the duration of your DMD presentation(s).  Some Presentations may be
a slideshow of images and some may contain videos.  Your will need to
play each presentation on the DMP to determine the duration length of
each presentation that you will add to the looped playlist.
    * Create a Master presentation using DMD. In this presentation, you will
create add a "Playlist" to the presentation by selecting the Playlist
button-drop down.  Select "All Media Types" and a Playlist object will
be added to the Master presentation.
      - Double-click on the object to add content
      - Select "Add URL" button in the Playlist Content window.
      - Fill in the required fields (URL Title & Link) in the "Add URL"
window.  Repeat the process for each presentation that you want
        to add.
      - Set the Duration for each item in the Playlist. Select the Item
in the list and then DOUBLE-CLICK on the "Planned Duration"
field and edit the time to desired duration.  Repeat process for
        each item.
      - Save Master Presentation
    * Schedule or use the  "Actions" drop down on the DMM-DMP Manager screen
send the Master Presentation to the DMP(s).  The Playlist will play and
Loop after the last item in the Master Playlist.

discussion answered & rate the response.
    Thank You!

  • Movies play one after another automatically?

In IDVD 8...can individual movies automatically play one after another without having to return to the menu to reselect the next movie and clicking on it?
I have 7- 3 min. movies I want to play together ...one after another...automatically in idvd08.

If I had $5 for every time that has been asked...
It can NOT be done in iDVD. It can be done in DVD Studio Pro.

  • Playing movies in Front Row one after another automatically?

I have a number of short video clips that I can watch with Front Row. However, every time a clip ends, I have to go and click “play” on the next clip and this is annoying. I am wondering if there is a way to make movies play one after another without stopping. Thanks for the help!

    David,
Thanks for the help. I'm still thinking there must be SOME way to pull this off. It seems like Mac's can do just about anything if you take the time to figure it out. Why wouldn't the people who designed Front Row not add this feature? It doesn't make any sense. There has to be a way. Anybody else have any ideas?

  • How do i play two sound file one after another

    Hi All,
How do i play two sound file one after another using single AudioClip Component?.
    Advance in thanks
    Manivel

AudioClip gives you very little control over what happens to the sound, it also isn't capable of playing long clips or waiting until a clip ends. It will play multiple clips over top of each other.
To do what you want you should use the facilities of javax.sound. Here's a post with an example: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=513&threadID=450768
There is also a tutorial, but its example fails for long clips.

    Hi Brennan,
Only HDMI is going to support audio & video on the single cable. Which MacBook Air do you have? Here's a great article regarding this - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241. Also keep in mind that only the current generation of MacBook Airs support this. The previous generation, also with MiniDisplay Port would support HDMI but you'd need to run a separate line from the headphone port over AUX for audio.
The first and second generation models, which have micro-DVI, do not support audio. Regarding the RCA cables, Apple offers adapters that allow you to go to VGA and that would probably be your best bet. I do not believe there's a MiniDisplay Port to RCA solution out there, you'd need to do multiple adapters and that's always a questionable performance solution.

  • QT Playlist, or Run movies one afther another in same window maybe?

    What am i missing here?
Is it possible that QT can't open and run more movies and play it one after another in the same window?
Let's say if i dont want to use VLC or any other player, or PlayList plug inn's etc... (they are ugly ) and want to go to my movies, select two new movie trailers, want to show it, par example, to friend, and clik "open" ,"open with QT" or cmnd+O, whatsoever...but what happens? I get 2 movie windows on desktop. But i want to watch one (or many as i want) trailers after another, and got less desktop space used... :S
Hm, is this some weird Apple principle, or what?
What solutions do you guys use?
FrontRow looks like goodone but i got PPC G4 iMac, and i wont buy new one just for that!

This is beyond anything I have ever tried. But I think I know what you have in mind, and you should be able to do it using JavaScript. I did it with still images on this page:
    http://capital2.capital.edu/admin-staff/dalthoff/adventures/tr2005/ohfair2.html
You would need to give the movie container a name so that you can access it from JavaScript, and you have the added problem of needing to control the QuickTime object from JavaScript. Have a look at the QuickTime JavaScript API; it might be helpful:
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/quicktime/Conceptual/QTScripting_JavaSc ript/index.html
In spite of the code on that gallery page I linked above, I really don't speak JavaScript, and I barely understand how my own code works. But I think JavaScript will allow you to do what you want to do, and you can probably even write a custom controller for the movie right into your web page.

  • Appending videos one after another

    Salutations everybody.
I need to use a MediaPlayer to play multiple video and / or audio files one after the other.
The idea is that the user will select all the video he wants to hear and then hit the 'Play' button. Then I need to play all those videos in order, one after the other. That is, as soon as one video is done I want to begin playing the next video and so on.
I assume this can be done ? Anyone can help me on the how to ?
    Thanx !

The videos must also be checked. I had unchecked them so that they would not be transferred to my iPod that won't play them. It wasn't until I checked them and did the other things in this thread that the videos began to play one after another.
I would like this to work when the videos are being played at full screen. But I can't seem to get that to work at all.
