Automatically rasterize all vector drawings (minus texts) in the PDF

Hi
I looked at the Adobe Acrobat documentation and also inside FAQs of this forum for did not find this specific information. If I missed anything, please just tell me
I have a PDF containing lot's of vector drawing made in Illustrator. The PDF was generated from Adobe InDesign. So the PDF is a mix of texts and vector drawings.
I want to send this PDF document in web, but, for some legal purposed, these vector drawings should all be rasterized. For sure I can open each .AI original document, rasterize all the content, then relink to the InDesign Document (so the exported PDF is text and all as raster images).
But, as I'm referring to 100 pages PDF, containing, at minimum, 150 vector drawings, this takes a long time to open each artwork in Illustrator and manually generate a rasterized copy to use in the final PDF.
So the question is: Is there any way (in Acrobat or any plug-in, app...) to open a PDF document, then automatically rasterize all vector drawings (minus texts) in a specific resolution? For example, rasterize all to 150 pixels per inch.
Using Acrobat DC in Windows 8.1 OS.
Thank you very much
Gustavo.

Hi Aandi
Thank you for the answe!!!
Do you see any workaround I could try? Or the way is to really open each .AI file in Illustrator, then rasterize manually?
Best Regards
Gustavo.

If so, you can restore a new iPhone from that backup during setup.
If not, the messages are gone.

  • Is there a way to control Adobe PDF plugin from within a Web Application? For Example, Can we highlight text in the PDF/A document programatically?

    Hi,
I am trying to open a PDF document in browser using Adobe PDF plug-in for IE 9. The plugin version is 10.x
I need to highlight certain text in the PDF document ( which is searchable) programmatically. For example, when a user selects certain text on the web-page, we want to automatically highlight that in the PDF document.

I don't think this is a question one can answer by simply downloading the SDK. And even if one reads all the documentation (it rarely happens for obvious reasons), it is not easy to reach an answer because its explanation is not trivial at all.
In my own opinion, this is right the type of question to be put and (hopefully) answered in a Forum.
Now, I am not sure about the correct answer but I will give one hint.
If I am not wrong, the Internet Explorer, IE, PDF viewer by Adobe is actually a .dll file which is put under IE once Adobe Reader is installed. A custom plug-in for Reader or Acrobat is also a .dll file (Windows) but its extension is .api and it needs to be copied under Reader or Acrobat (or both). Therefore, I don't see how we can merge the IE viewer .dll with a custom plug-in .api. Though maybe technically possible, I don't think it is something we can do.
If above reasoning is correct, the answer to the question is No.

You can set up a temporary button (or link, bookmark, etc.) and add the following JavaScript action:
// Mouse Up script for a temporary button (or bookmark, etc.)
// Change the font and font size for all text fields in this document
    for (var i = 0; i < numFields; i += 1) {
        var f = getField(getNthFieldName(i));
        if (f.type === "text") {
            f.textFont = font.Helv;
            f.textSize = 9;
It also sets the font size, but you can remove that line if you don't need to do that.

  • My photos looked great but when I made a book they all appeared to be corrupted in the pdf preview?

My photos looked great but when I made a book  in iphoto 09 they all appeared to be corrupted in the pdf preview? There is a white triangular shape with random  horizontal lines running through each photo in the ibook preview.  Took it to the Genius bar, after a week of fooling with it including wiping it clean and resinstalling the OS the same thing happens.

A LOT of them dont appear.
What do you see in the window when you click on those?  A blank, black window?  An exclamation mark?  What?

  • Rasterize all vectors in pdf

    Hello everybody!
Unfortunatelly I am totally newbie to Adobe stuff so I might not use correct technical terms..
I know a similar topics has been posted again but I think none of them matches what I need..
I have a pdf which contains text images and vectors. I need to convert somehow the pdf with all the vector graphics as images(and retain the text and the rest of the images as they are..I hink what I need is called "rasterizing").
The reason I want to do this is because I am trying to create an HTML page equivalent to the pdf. I do that in a nice way by using pdflib to extract images and texts but it does not identify the vector graphics..
Is there any way to export a 150-page pdf with the vectors rasterized without the need of doing them one by one?
    Thank you in advance!

Dave, saving in HTML would not help for the following reasons:
    - The layout of produced HTML has almost nothing to do with the original pdf layout..
    - I use pdflib to extract text and images from pdfs and the results is impressive. The only problem is that pdflib does not identify vectors.. I cannot just export vectors with other program and intergrate them into the html page because pdflib during extraction keeps track of the coordinations of the extracted images so it can places them back during the construction of the html page. That means if pdflib does not find any images, won't keep track of any position coordinations so even if I have the images I would place them manually into the html file..
This is why I need to find a way of exporting the pdf and in the same time turning the vectors into regular images..
To be honest I was expecting someone to reply like that..
"You silly boy, just gor to File>Exoprt as>pdf and check in image settings the 'convert all vectors to images' option..unlucky obviously..
    But I was not lucky..!
    Thanks again!

  • I use Acrobat to convert firefox pages to pdf and with firefox4 I need to be able to copy and pasted text from the pdf and no longer can.

With the prior version of Firefox I could convert web pages (financial data) to pdf for maintaining historical files. And then with the pdf, I was able to copy and paste the numbers into Excel. With Firefox4, I can convert to pdf with Acrobat but I cannot access the numbers for copying and pasting as text, only as a picture. While I prefer Firefox, I check to see if this problem recently started with the "other" company's web browser and did not have this problem. So, it is not Acrobat.

    HI djlarp,
Try triple-clicking in the text that you want to select--it can sometimes be tricky to select text in a converted document. If that doesn't work, it could be that the PDF document was created from a scanned document, and OCR wasn't enabled when you converted the document. (However, OCR is enabled by default when you convert via the ExportPDF website.)
If you're unable to select text by triple-clicking, let us know. I would be happy to take a closer look at your files.
    Best,
    Sara

  • New install on Windows 8. 2 accounts. Thunderbird is automatically moving all mail from 1 account to the other. How do I stop it?

Stock Windows 8 Updated, no add ons.
New clean install of Thunderbird 24.3.0
    2 mail accounts. 1 x gmail, l x Yahoo.
All new mail into the yahoo inbox gets automatically moved into the inbox of the gmail account.
The two accounts have no other connection.
Both accounts use IMAP with the automatic settings applied.
    How can I stop this?

My first thought is to check your message filters on each account. Tools > Message Filters
2nd thought is to check your yahoo settings via your browser and see if mail forwarding is enabled.
Turn on the location column (see attached image) and see if they are actually in the apparent folder.
Possible that your gmail inbox is being used as a "unified inbox"?

  • Rasterize all objects?

Is there a way to automatically rasterize all objects with a PDF joboptions setting? I've opened my setting in a text editor and found this line:
    /RasterVectorBalance 1
Woulod changing that number do it?

    Actually, you can. I found a pdf document on Adobe's site entitled "PDFCreationSettings.pdf" that explains all the possible settings.<br />You have to edit the joboptions file in a text editor.<br /><br />The settings are:<br />        /PresetName <PncRasterizeAll><br />        /PresetSelector /UseName<br />        /RasterVectorBalance 0<br /><br />PnCRasterizeAll is a flattener setting I created in Illustrator.<br />RasterVectorBalance is a scale from 0 to 100. 0 being all raster and 100 being no rasterization.

  • How do I enter text onto a PDF and have it automatically update in an Indesign file?

I am trying to enter text into an application form and then include the updated application into an extended indesign file.  I would like to be able to change elements of the application, which would then automatically update in the Indesign file.  I am having trouble doing this.

I received an application in PDF and want to fill it out with my personal text, but I would also like to include supplemental documents with the application and thus have placed the PDF and the other documents it into an Indesign file.  If I were to change some portion of the personal text in the PDF, it would be great if it could automatically update in the Indesign file.  How else would you suggest I go about doing this?
    Thanks!

    I guess I just don't care anymore.

  • Automatically remove all requisitions

Currently, our system is being burdened with an excessive amount of reservations that have been in the system for more that 7 days.
We will like the system to be configured to automatically remove all requisitions that have been in the system for greater than 7 days.
    Can this be done?
    Solution is appreciable

If the requisition has been created via MRP than you have to delete the PIR from Systen and when you run MRP next time it will delete the Requisition from the system.
To do that use MD74, 75 adn 76 transaction with variant of the key date prior to your reqs

  • I can't edit text on a pdf file in adobe acrobat

I need to edit the text on the pdf file but I can't and this message keeps showing up: " This form cannot be edited in Acrobat. Please use Adobe LiveCycle Designer to edit this form.
There are no security on this file. The only thing that is not allowed is to create templates. When I check the document properties description, on the PDF producer it says adobe distiller 7.0.5 (windows)
I downloaded the adobe livecycle designer but I couldn't edit the text there either... When I open the file it says the text is not downloaded so it replaced it with another text, I clicked ok but then the text didn't change, This message showed up:
I really need to edit the text on this pdf file because it's important. Can anyone help? Greatly appreciate it. By the way, this is a pdf fillable form that you can fill out on acrobat and that is the only thing it seems like it will let me do this file. I don't want to fill it out, I want to edit whats on it. It's one of those forms that you get from NJ courts.

Ok, what we can tell you is that if this is a LiveCycle form (and we can be pretty sure it is), that you are absolutely right. Acrobat can fill it, and nothing else. These are a very special kind of PDF, where all the text is in a special XML format that Acrobat can only show, not edit.
So, you are on the right track: if it can be edited, you need LiveCycle Designer. Unfortunately, we don't know much about it in this forum, so please try posting here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/livecycle/livecycle_modules_and_development_tools/livecy cle_designer_es
If the form is publicly available, it may help if you include the URL (web address) when you post.

  • Using browser javascript to copy selected text from a pdf file opened in Air app.

I have posted this question on reader forum as well, but I think it is more suited here...
I am trying to create a note-taking application in air. I want to extract selected text from pdf file as a string object or to the clipboard.
Obviously, all pdfs in my local storage will not be scripted to recieve postMessages and act accordingly, and that is not practical either. So, my problem is, how can I copy the selected text in the pdf file (opened as an object in htmlloader within my Air app) to clipboard or directly in another control by say clicking a button in air application? I suppose, this is possible using javascript, however, I don't know which reader methods are exposed to the wrapper htmlloader control. In short, I want to execute app.execMenuItem("Copy") command through htmlloader javascript. Any alternate solutions are also welcome.
This is similar to passing inbuilt commands/methods/functions (of adobe reader) to pdf-reader plugin embedded in a webpage via javascript. This is possible in IE where the pdf is rendered as activex object, and hence JSObject interface of pdf document/reader is accessible to the browser javascript. I have also read that this same JSObject is accessible to VB as interface for IAC, so as the Air is Adobe's own product, I was wondering if equivalent of JSObject is accessible to htmlloader control as well.
    Thanks in advance...

Thank you Thom for your reply...
    from
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/javascript.html
...Through JavaScript extensions, the viewer application and its plug-ins expose much of their functionality to document authors, form designers, and plug-in developers...
As it is explicitly mentioned, that the functionality of adobe reader are exposed for plugin development, I thought someone here might have used external javascript to execute some safe methods in adobe reader. The functionality (i.e. external javascript interface-JSObject) is already available for VB programmers to develop IAC. Further, the Acrobat SDK example called "AcroPDFinHML" shows how one can embed a pdf-reader in a html page and execute some safe methods (like gotonextpage(), zooming etc.) in IE as ActiveX plugin. I have checked it myself for adobe reader 9, and it works perfectly, so there is no security issue as such to implement the same for another browser (like in my case, the htmlloader control in flex/air app).
I intend to create a note taking application in air, where it is very much required that I should be able to copy selected text from various pdf documents, that are open in my app, and subsequently paste/collect/save the collected notes and process them afterwords (offcourse, from the pdfs that allow me copying text). However, it is not happening for me here. As the pdfs are opened through adobe reader plugin, it does not register the copy command executed by my air app. It registers the system level copy command (by keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C), but my air app has no way to execute the system level copy command programmatically. So I am kind of stuck here...
Thanks again for your reply. Having known what am I intend to accomplish, any other (may be alternative) solutions will be appreciated nonetheless...
