Automatically Replacing Images Without Losing Previous Image's Action

I've created updated versions of some images in a Keynote presentation, but the images they replace have actions assigned to them. Is it possible to update a pre-existing image so the updated version retains any actions?

You have two options for this. The best option is to define the image as a media placeholder. Go to Format>Advanced>Define as Media Placeholder. Then you can change images and keep all actions.
The other option is if you have saved your Keynote as a package, you can right click the icon and choose show package contents. Then make sure the new images are the exact same name as the ones you wish to change and drag them into the folder. You be asked if you want to replace the file already named --- and click yes. Keynote will then change the old picture with the new one. I would only use this option if you are changing a lot of images at once and it is too time consuming to use the other method.

  • Can I delete all of the images in "All Images" without losing any originals?

Can I delete all of the images in "All Images" without losing any original photos? Thank you.

Simply: iPhoto is a database. Like all databases it requires that you manipulat the data via the tools provided and not through backdoors. If you delete matter managed by iPhoto (or for that matter, any database) through some other means then the database will be unaware of the deletions. The database will not reflect the changes and you'll have significant issues going forward with iPhoto.
So, to be really, really clear: if you delete Photos managed by iPhoto via the All Images search you will corrupt your Library.
It's your computer, your images and your iPhoto. You have the information, you decide how to use it.

  • RESIZING GIF IMAGES WITHOUT LOSING ANIMATION

Is it possible to resize a Gif image without losing animation?  I tried but unfortunately lost the animation. I use CS3 Extended.  Thanks

No, I don't think so. for that, you'd probably have to import your animation using the Video to Layers option, resize, then rebuild the animation and export it.

  • How can I resize an image without losing resolution or using the crop tool? I am using Photoshop Elements 13 on a PC.

How can I resize an image without losing resolution or using the crop tool? I am using Photoshop Elements 13 on a PC.

    Hi Peru Bob,
I've tried two images, the results were:
    Image 1
    Jpg, original file size 923KB, dimensions 848px x 279px.
After resizing to 848px x 180px with 72dpi, the file size decreased to 164KB.
    Image 2
    Jpg, original file size 809KB, dimensions 1200px x 1800px.
After resizing to 668px x 722px with 72dpi, the file size decreased to 307KB.
So, there seems to be a fair file size loss - is this to be expected?

  • Resize A Image Without Losing Quality

I have been reading about how to best resize image in PS CS4/CS5.  I've read that you should increase the size of a image in increments and I’ve also read that you should resize using the bicubic smoother setting in PS.
The image that I would like to resize is 5W x 7H and resolution of 150. I would like to print this image at 30W x 40H on a HP Designjet 5500ps.
Any recommendation on how I should go about resizing the image without losing quality?

No matter which method you used, scaling up a photo 5 times is going to look very good.
There are some software that purports to scale up an image without blurry edges. Not sure how well they work.
If you can obtain the original image and rescan it at a higher resolution that would work better.
Or, if the photo can be easily recreated as a vector drawing, then do that with illustrator and print it out large.
Or if you or someone you know is a great artist, then scale up the photo in photoshop (which would become blurry), then hand correct the edges to make them sharp. This requires drawing ability.

  • Converting a Signed 16 bit colour Image to 32 bit Image without Losing the Colour

    Hi,
I am using the IMAQColourHistogram which only accepts 32 bit image inputs. I changed the Image from 16 bit to 32 bit using 'Cast Image'. The program worked but inserting an indicator, I realised that the Cast Image actually changes the Color in the image to a black and white Image. Is there a way I can change the 16 bit to 32 bit without losing the colour.
Any suggestions on this would be very helpful as I am currently stuck in my project.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Is your 16bit image a real color image or only a grayscale image with a false color palette?
If your image is only a grayscale image, simply use the IMAQHistogram function  (located in the Analysis palette) wich accepts 8 and 16bit images.
Color images are 32bit because you have 3 planes of 8 bit (Red, Green, Blue)
16bit are not usually color images, but grayscale image with extended pixel depth compared ti traditionnal 8bit images.

  • How to resize large images without losing quality

Hello I have an image that I am trying to use as an email. Right now it is 2108 pixels. And for an email it should be 600 px. I created this image in illustrator as vectors and type.
Whenever I go into image size and i change it to be 600 pixels it gets extremely blurry. I have also tried converting this to a smart object... doesnt work. How do I resize my large image to be smaller without losing quality???

here is an example sceenshot of the opening dialog (.ai opened directly in Photoshop)
your illustrator vector should be rastered sharp at 100% actual Pixels in Photoshop
that is where you want to evaluate sharpness in Photoshop...
then File> Save for Web & Devices (and drag that saved file icon into an open web browser)
still no joy, embed your saved image here using the forum's camera icon...

  • Making separate iTunes accounts without losing previously bought music

I used my Mom's account to buy songs off of iTunes for the last few years but now my Mom doesn't want me to use her iTunes giftcard to buy my songs anymore. Is there anyway I can create my own separate iTunes account that I can download my own music to WITHOUT losing the previous songs I bought under hers?
    Thanks

Yes, you need to authorize the PC for both accounts. That means signing in and out of the itunes store with both accounts.
itunes menu > Store > Sign Out
Just make sure you are signed into your account when you buy stuff.
If you ever switch PCs, you will need to authorize both accounts again.

  • Create new iTunes account without losing previously purchased content?

My husband and I both have iPhone's but currently share one iTunes account from which all music, apps, etc. have been purchased from.  As time goes on, it is getting harder to manage; therefore we want to create a separate account.  Is there a way to create a new Apple ID for his phone without losing the existing content that has already been purchased?

There is nothing that prevents having iTunes content that was downloaded with more than one Apple ID or iTunes account on one device.
She needs to register her computer with the new Apple ID with iTunes.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID or iTunes account that was used to download the apps. This means in order to install an app update for an app that was downloaded with the existing Apple ID, she will need to use that Apple ID and password or she will be prompted for it when doing so.
iTunes on your computer allows for transferring iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iOS device.

  • Spry Menu Bar using CSS background image without losing submenu ( V) indicators

Spry menu bar sets the down and side submenu indicators using
a positioned background image. I have a requirement to use a
specific background image yet must retain the > and v submenu
indicators. Without having to generate full width custom background
images for each of the menu item types to include the side and down
menu indicators, is there anyway to use a generic background image
and show the indicators using just CSS?

Don't use reserved words in JS
    var event = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("events.xml", "catalog/event", {sortOnLoad: "date", sortOrderOnLoad: "descending"});
event is such a reserved word. If you change this to event1 then all is well.
    I hope this helps.

  • How can I resample image without losing quality?

I have an image which is 1200 x 800 at 72 pixels per inch
Now it is needed on a webpage so it needs to be small - I am told the image has to be 300 x 200
I want to maintain the quality.....
    SO......
I get the original image: thus...
I then bring up the image resize dialog which shows:
I change the values so that the image dimensions are changed to 300 x 200 thus:
1200 changed to 300 - this changed the 800 to 200 for me... pressed OK
    The resultant image is now:
Looks awful - What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you in advance.
    Terry

Any time you interpolate an image you will lose some image quality. For you either reduce the details you have for an image or your creating details you don't have for the image. The image you started with had better quality but that image no longer exist you have a new image now.
The size change and direction has a lot to do with how much the quality change is.  If you throw away a lot of detail the smaller resized image my look very good on a display.  However  you resize a small web image to a 16" x 20" 300dpi print image it will not look good.
If the image has been sharpened using Bicubic Automatic or bicubic sharper is not a good interpolation method when downsizing for the web. Still there is just so much detail you can retain in 300x200 pixels.

  • Removing background shadow on transparent PNG image without losing shading on the object?

I have a pillow bevel applied to a paint splatter brush image, and I'm having trouble with the shadows. I want to save this splatter as a transparent PNG. The problem is that a drop shadow effect is showing up when I save it this way. I think it's a "shading" setting rather than a true drop shadow, as there is no drop shadow set in the layer styles. The shadow does not appear when a white background is applied. It only shows when the background is transparent. I've tried reducing the shading opacity in the bevel dialogue, and this does get rid of the drop shadow....the problem is that it also removes the shading from the paint splatter, making the image look flat instead of raised. Can anyone help?  Thanks!

Good point Curt. First time poster, so I wasn't sure how to include images in my original post. Here they are:
Above is the image saved WITH transparency. Obviously the shadows all around the blue make this unusable.
Here is the exact same image...the only difference is that I saved it with a white background layer behind it in photoshop. As you can see, the shadow artifacts are gone, yet the splatter still maintains its correct shading to keep the raised effect.
Both of these images are saved as png. Any suggestions?

  • How to resize project without losing the image resolution?

I am trying to resize a project that recorded in 1271 x 768
px to 800 x 483 px. I did it by clicked 'Project' > 'Resize
Project...'. But after resize, the resolution of the movie is not
clear, became blur. How to resize the project so that I'll have
    clearer movie? Thanks.

Hi obtis and welcome to our community
Unfortunately, there is little you may do to avoid this. The
best way to avoid it is to simply record initially at the size you
need so you don't have to use the Resize function.
Here's the deal. Captivate stores images in the project as
bitmapped images. Otherwise known as "raster" images. Basically
they are a mosaic that comprises the picture. Initially, all is
well and is crystal clear. But when you scale down a raster or
bitmapped image, you are simply moving all the picture elements
(PixEls) closer together. They overlap and the computer will
calculate new values for what color they should be. Depending on
how much you are resizing, the clarity drop can be acceptable or
horribly bad. The more you resize smaller the worse it gets.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • Converting from .xls to .xlsx without losing jpeg image quality

I am trying to covert .xls to .xlsx. But I have a lot of jpegs in my .xls and I notice the image quality of the original jpegs is severely eroded. How do I preserve that -- click Option, Advanced, Do not Compress? Do I have to do it a file at a time?

    Hi,
Unfortunately, this setting applies only to pictures in the current file or the file selected in the list next to Image Size and Quality. Please take a look the article below:
