Automatically return to the log in window ...

Hi ...   Can I automatically return to the log in window just before my computer goes to sleep ?

No, but you can require a password to wake from sleep. See the settings in the General pane of System Preferences -> Security & Privacy.

  • How do I restart my computer for updates without having it reset because the log in window, suddenly, now appears?

How do I restart my macbook for updates without having it reset because the log in window, suddenly, now appears? I've never had this issue until a few days ago when there were updates available. Somewhere the settings were changed. I may have inadvertently changed a log in preference but can't trace it back.

That usually doesn't happen (unless you do not use automatic login) unless you boot into Safe Mode. When prompted do you enter your admin password? What happens when you do that?

  • HT3799 locked out at the log in window ?

i have recently installed Maverick on my late 2010 MB Air that is locked at the log in window . I have tried to enter Disk Utility with r-cmd but end up on a grey screen with a Pad-Lock and a request for my firmware p/w is there a default p/w ?

    RockeyIV,
no, there isn’t a default firmware password; the default is to have no firmware password. If your MacBook Air has a firmware password, then someone set it up that way.

  • Redock the log/message window in it's orginial place at the bottom?

How do I re-dock the log/message window in it's orginal place at the bottom? When ever I try re-docking it goes to the left side of the screen. I can drag and float the window back done to the bottom but I would prefer for it to go back to it's orginal position. I've located the windowinglayout.xml file but not really sure what I should change.
    JDeveloper: 10.1.3.3
    Thanks

Ok if I'm following you correctly I dragged the undocked Message-log window down to the bottom of the code editor. The dragged window is violet/purple color with the following verbiage "Use Ctrl key to prevent docking Use Esc key to cancel ". I let go of the window and it is now floating there. I want it to dock instead of float at this location. What exactly is the drop indicator?
    Thanks,
    Russ

I cannot open itunes store from my iphone 4s. When I press the application icon it seems to be open at first but then automatically return to the main menu. What can be the problem?

Logout of the app store and iTunes store: Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Go back to home screen and  reset the phone by pressing the sleep/wake and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears then release them.
Once phone has finished rebooting go back to  Settings>iTunes & App Store and login with your Apple ID and password again. Then open the iTunes Store app again.

Try restting the password.  Boot into Recovery (⌘R), in the Menu Bar, you'll see the option to reset password.

  • How do I return from the log out screen?

I am testing an installation of a forum module in a Muse site. The module works but when I log out I get stuck at the log out screen. I have tried to use use hyperlinks manager to choose a browser window with no success. I am hoping that users will be able to easily return to the Muse site.

    Hi Neil,
This can be customisd from the system pages area, in your Business Catalyst Admin: http://prntscr.com/305v17. You can add whatever customization you want, such as a redirect, or a link to another page.
    Kind Regards,

  • How do you return to the thunderbird main window in linux when it opens in a local folder?

I can find no option to return to the main window of Thunderbird 31.1.1 under Fedora 20. It always opens in the same local folder (the only tab displayed under "File Edit View .. " menu bar) that I was reading before yesterday's "logoff.". I tried restarting the computer. Help would be appreciated.

I think you aren't seeing the account folders pane.
On the menu, '''View|Layout''' and check ''Folder Pane''.
If you don't have a menu, hold down <alt> then tap l (lower case L).
The folder pane shows your accounts and their folders, and is, IMHO, essential for navigating around in Thunderbird.

  • How to make Finder automatically go to the foremost open window?

I hope I'm explaining this clearly.
Suddenly, when I click on the Finder from the Dock, it does not go to the last open window. I have to go to the Windows menu and select it, or click and wait on the Finder icon in the dock for it to open. I usually have a lot of apps open so when I go to Finder it's to do some file management - and the extra step of having to bring the last open window to the forefront is annoying me!
Does anyone know how to make the Finder automatically come to the forefront (with the windows) from click in the Dock? I swear my mac always did that before but now it's stopped!

    can anyone help me here?

  • The log & capture window has become disabled...can control cam, but no vid.

I have been capturing 24p footage from the DVX100a and the log & capture feature has been working fine, until after the print to video feature was used. Now the device control works, but it will only display color bars. I have checked and rechecked the audio/video settings, as well as user preferences. Am I missing something simple?

    ? Am I missing something simple? < </div>
Probably but it's impossible to tell from here. Search the forum for your camera model and for preview disabled. We get at least one post a day on these topics. I don't follow the threads, I just see them all the time.
Try shutting down your system, disconnect the FW stuff, restart. Usually resets the FW bus. But there are many cameras out there now that tend to drop in and out of the preview window.

  • When I try to play music on my iPod touch it automatically returns to the artists screen. Does anyone know how to resolve this..?

When I try to play music on my iPod touch it immediately returns to the artists screen. Can anyone help?

    - First try a reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Next would be a restore. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factoruy defaults/new iPod.

  • I cant get the log in window for iCloud on my iPad?

I can't get the window to come up. All I get is the initial sign up window. I have an apple id , account, etc and they work fine. I can log into icloud on my iMac but can't even get the window on my iPad. I have tried resetting my iPad (i.e. push hold both buttons for a complete restart), resigning up for apple id, but I have one so that doesn't work,
I have never been not even able to get the page.
    I have iCloud drive enabled.

  • My iPhone4S just started to automatically return to the home screen upon opening any app, including Safari.

Is this a bug in the OS? Is this a common issue and is Apple going to update their OS to fix this?  I have tried restarting the phone and deleting the last app downloaded just in case but still automatically going to homescreen with any app.  It seems to be an OS issue but not sure.  This is the first time I have ever had an issue. Very annoyed considering I just got this phone in late March.

It's not necessarily an iOS issue and Apple is unlikely to release an update to "fix" this minor annoyance.
A simple search of the forums would have revealed multiple threads with similar issues.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).
Many users have reported getting around this issue by installing any new app (free or paid).
