Automatically set "volumes for work"

For every project I want to keep all relevant files together. Thus for each project I want to set the path for "working volumes" ( Final Cut Pro --> system settings --> volumes for work) and waveform cache, pictogramm cache and auto save automatically, project-dependant.
Is this possible, or will I have to change these settings manually every time I switch to another project? How do expert users handle this?

It's not necessary to keep waveform or thumbnail cache with the rest of your project. As for everything else, FCP automatically creates a folder for each project and deposits the media you digitize into that folder.
It's a bad idea to keep your autosaves in the same folder as your media. The autosave vault should be in another place from the rest of your video and projects in case you have problems with corrupted projects, or if you lose a drive.
Now, I create sub-folders inside my media folder for additional elements that I don't digitize, but want to keep organized like music and pictures, graphics and outputted quicktimes.

start mail then:
Preferences> Accounts> click the [+] icon and fill in the blanks.

PWA automatically sets 8h of work independently of the duration that is entered

As PM, when adding a task in PWA, PWA automatically sets 8h of work independently of the duration that is entered.
It may end up with planned hours of for example 0.53h per day.
Is there a way to change this setting, at the instance or project level? What is the default value in PWA?

Thank You for your attempt. Let me put my question in a different way here.
I have Project server 2010 environment
The problem is more with the work assigned to the resource for each day. Duration is not really the issue here. It is more like when am creating my project
plan from PWA>Project Center instead of MS Project.
When i say "It may end up with planned hours of for example 0.53h per day", it automatically captures the duration as of the availability for the day calculating
from the time i have created the task. For example, if it has to be for 2 days, and I am creating it say as around sometime in the afternoon, it will take the duration as 1.5 days.
I hope I elaborated pretty much as per what the problem is.

I own a Nokia N95 (8GB)
works rather well...
Some how i have managed to damage the Volume Buttons on the side of the phone and my volume for my music is set to the default "Volume Level"...(Which isn't very loud)
I need some help 'how to higher the volume without using those buttons on the side'

You're right! Connect the remote (Like the AD-54) and use the remote to control the volume.

How to set status for work items

Hello Friend's,
As per my client current scenario every work item will be sent to 3 useru2019s .If any one of the user click on work item it will automatically call a Ztransaction for further action. Here if the user has viewed the item and back to sap inbox by clicking the back push button(in Ztransaction) without any modification or taking the any action(SAVE) then the rest of other user (2 users ) work items are disappearing from other user SAP inbox.
But my client required that whenever the user click on back button it should be READY status to all the users and it should not disappear from other user SAP inbox.
Please provide me any advice to the above requirement.

The word, "volume" in the error message refers to a drive or partition which may not be mounted.

How does profiling lenses that ACR automatically adds corrections for work?

There are a number of lenses for cameras that apply in-camera corrections for (example, the Panasonic 14-42mm pancake zoom for micro four-thirds), from which the RAW files appear to have correction applied when I open them in ACR or lightroom. It appears that ACR/LR is applying corrections to these lenses automatically since barreling etc appears when they are opened in some other raw convertiers. Is there any point in creating profiles for RAW files from these lenses or is it overkill? Or will it make things worse or better?

The current version of the ALPC (1.0.2 Preview #3) builds what is called incremental lens profiles on top of the in-camera corrections. it corrects any residual geometric distortion that might have left out from the in-camera corrections. But that is not the most interesting part, in-camera correction typically only handle the geometric distortion, but not the LCA or the vignette. So you can build your lens profiles to correct those.

Set defaults for contacts

HI,
Can anyone tell me how to set the defaults for the contacts. Right now when I save a number in the contacts it is automatically set as a "work" number. I want it to automatically be a mobile number. This will save a lot of cut and pasting. Thanks.

Hello, i have the 11.101 version and I imported all my contacts via PC suite and I CAN use the defaults option and the ringtone can be anything I want (apart for video ringtones-they don't work).

Musical typing - setting volume

I'm using this for a drum track. Say I record kick, snare and high hat. Can I open the track view, highlight the midi bars for the high hat and set their volume separately? If no, could I cut the high hat out and paste it into a new track, adjusting the mix that way? Any suggestions of a more efficient way would be appreciated. I would really like to be able to do something similar to musical typing (for drums) in pro tools, but I don't believe it's an available option.. Without having to pay for a plugin.

Hi adam79,
You may be better off recording each instrument as a separate track, rather than as a set. This allows you to set volume for each instrument separately. See this article -

By default Firefox opens a blank page for a new Tab, there is no setting to change that action without installing an add-on.

Whether they are suitable for creating a Timelapse sequence without significant flicker is entirely subjective and up to you - and of course, dependant on your specific images & how they change over time. Sorry, not much advice beyond try PV2012, and revert back to PV2010 if you get too much flicker.

Auto Set the Volume for Music and Podcast?

I would like to automatically set the volume adjustment (+100%) for all my music and podcasts.
I get 1-2 podcasts everyday and have to manually set the volume after they have downloaded (Get Info->Options)
I can make mass changes by selecting multiple items - but what I hope to do is make a setting so that all new music/podcast etc are auto set to this volume.
I use open headphones outside a lot and some of the podcasts cannot be heard even on max volume slider. Adjusting the volume works fine but as I mentioned I do it manually

thanks for the link but unfortunately it doesn't help. I think my IMovie 08 might be corrupted or something. Because nothing can reduce the imported audio track's volume. I might need to take it to back to my store and ask them to have a look at it.

I'm trying to set up an iPad for work and the apple id I was trying to use came back expired. I set a new password and then it said it was invalid. Now I'm locked out for too many tries answering security questions that I don't remember setting up. Help!

I seem to be stuck in apple ID ****. First the password was expired only two minutes after I finished setting up the account and then the new password was invalid. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Some glitch occured and you have to restore/erse the iPod. Y will have to restore from an existing backup if y ohave one.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

hi there, I'm trying to create a shell script that unmutes and sets the volume for a sound card's mixer controls, using amixer. It will pretty much always be run in Arch Linux using alsautils. This script will be used on computers where I won't necessarily know what exact controls the user will have in their sound card, so running a command like 'amixer set Master unmute 75%' won't really work, but they may not have a Master, or it might have a slightly different name. So really it seems like the only way to get this done is to parse through the output of 'amixer scontrols' and try to find all controls that have either a pvolume or cvolume capability. Is this the best way of doing this, or is there some simpler way? If so, I was hoping people could give me a headstart on the sed/awk pattern(s) I'll need for this.

Not sure what you're asking but:
amixer scontrols | sed "s#^.*[']\(.*\)['].*#\1#"
returns a list of all available controls... or did you only want to find a way to test whether a control is c/p-vulume capable. Is that one always on top maybe?
My suggestion would be to try aumix... it's in comunity as "aumix-gtk"...
then you can simply use:
#voldown
aumix -v -10
#volup
aumix -v +10
If this doesn't help you, could you be more specific?

Initial Work status not set autmoatically for new created member

if we create a new budget version, and process the category dimension we notice that the first work status (locked in our scenario) is not set automatically by default... As a result users can still input data for the new budget version. Only if we first change the work status of the new budget version (and put it back), the work status can be applied ...
Is this normal behavior?

Yes, I think what you're seeing is "normal" behavior -- it may not be what you want, though. In fact, I don't think this issue is limited to your creating a new member. It also applies to the existing members of your work status dimensions.
I had one project like this, where the customer wanted the default work status to be locked, and then for the finance administrator to explicitly open up the category & time period for users. We never got it to work in a really clean manner.
For the work status check to take effect, there must be records in the tblFinanceLock table (where Finance is the applcation name). And the only way that records normally get into that table is by changing the work status manually. We played around with a SQL script to populate that table, to automatically set the status to the first level (locked), but never found something that we were comfortable with.
I'd be curious to hear if someone's made something like that work well.
