Automatically Shuts off

Iphone 3gs AT&T .. even plugged into my computer it'll just show the apple logo and quit

If no change after any of the standard troubleshooting steps, which in order are power your iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, and restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, the iPhone includes a one year warranty. You can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

you can put the phone in recovery mode by holding the home button while you are plugging it into a computer with itunes but this will erass every thing on you phone so it should only be done if you have a back up made or really need you phone

  • Hi my friend gave me his old Iphone 1 today and its stuck in the apple boot logo. Sometimes it automatically shuts off but about a second later it comes back on. The home button and the power button seem to not be responsive. Im hoping to restore it.. Thx

Hi my friend gave me his iphone 1 today and its stuck at the apple boot logo. Some times it automatically shuts off but about a second later is comes back on. The home button and the power button seem to not be responsive. Thanks for the help.

You bought a used iPhone. Amazon is not an authorized supplier of iPhones, nor are any of the 3rd parties that sell iPhones there.
You can make an appointment at the genius bar and have it looked at.
If you are very very lucky, it is still under warranty and it wasn't opened or otherwise tampered with before you bought it. In which case, Apple will replace it under warranty.
If it's not under warranty, they will replace it for $199.
If it has been opened or tampered with, they won't touch it.

  • IPhone 4 iOS 7 lock screen won't automatically shut off after receiving a message

whenever i get a message on my iphone 4 (ios 7) the lock screen does not automatically shut off. it just stays on until i manually turn it off and it drains my battery completely! how do i fix this? it's really annoying.
    i have auto-lock set to 1 minute.

    Same issue here.
Noticed it on a iPhone 4 and iPhome 5S.
    Already running iOS 7.0.3.
Screen, last night three times, goes into lockscreen and seems to be stuck there. It won't go off (into suspend or how you call it) until you hit the button.
Not sure if it's messages related, since i didn't get any message the last "freeze" time.
I was running some apps, including GPS and Safari and whatsapp.

  • My 27inch iMac automatically shuts off

My 27 inch iMac will shut off automatically after about 30 to 45 minutes - it will not turn on when using the on/off power button.  I have to unplug from the wall, hold down the on/off power button for 10 seconds, plug it back into the wall then usually, it will turn on.  I have tried using different wall outlets and not using a power strip but unless i follow the previous steps, it will not turn on. I ran an apple diagnostic test - it showed no issues with the hardware.  It was purchased from the apple refurbished store in April of 2013.  For hardware -processor 3.2 GHZ quad core intel core i5 - memory 8GB 1600MHz DDR3,  graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX  -software - OS X, iLife '11

I think you should have received a 1 year warranty on this Mac, so I would take it in and have them fix it for free. If this is happening routinely at about the same time after boot up it sounds like an overheating issue, which is most likely hardware related.

  • TIME CAPSUEL DOSN'T AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF ANYMORE!!  ''HELP PLEASE''

I noticed this evening when I turned my T.C on it whirred up and I thought..
I must time this to see how long it takes to actually shut down and to my amazement it didn't after one hour I had to manually shut it off at the wall and it was roasting hot to the touch I mean it almost burnt me man was it hot, if only the G/F was as hot as this T.C, anyway more seriously back to my problem..
So anyone have any ideas why this would happen yesterday funnily enough it did power down afte a certain amount of time of non activity, why now does it behave like this as it should shut off automatically without me having to intervene and turn it off at the wall switch..
Is there a file in tools that allows me to configure me to select automatic shutdown or is it an automatic event without human intervention..
Any help would be fantastic and I thank you all for looking at this post and hopefully someone will reply with a helpful solution..
Thank you to all in advance..

Well i'm afraid I could never leave the house for 8 hours a day or maybe more and leave all my computer stuff on, anyway with the heat that this time capsule was giving off I would in no way leave the house with that thing running the worry of coming back home to find the Northern Ireland Fire Brigade outside my apartment smouldering under a pile of charcoal and burning embers is a thought too far to even contemplate.. Anyway with the adverts telling everyone to switch off appliances to save the eco system states on standby it would save billions in tonnage of fossil fuels being burnt up into the atmosphere so what you have suggested isn't something I would ever consider for the reasons stated above..

  • How do I make the home screen shut off? Its not shutting down automatically shutting off anymore?

  • Automatic shut-off with version 5.1

    Hello everyone,
On my iphone 4 after updating to 5.1 I have problems with the battery.
Automatically turns off when I still have about 14% battery remaining!
When I had version 5.0.1 autonomy was up 2%!
I restored the 5.1 version but nothing has changed.
I hope there is soon an update, version 5.0.1 was better!
    Clear skies!

Curious, but I saw it last night when i loaded the batteries.
    The phone was off.
When it is turned on, after a Few Seconds, was 8% charge!
    Impossible!
Your phone is off When the battery is very low?
OK, I'm already trying the solution I have proposed

  • Why was the program automatally  shut off immediately  ?

I  bought I pad in HK .  When I used QQ and memory note,  when I wrote "我” , the program was shut off immediately , I has to visit the program  again.  Why ?

I cannot speak to this specific instance, but many times, when the pad shuts down unexpectedly, there is simply a memory problem.   Double tap the home button and see the apps in the recently used area.  Most of them are simply recently used, but some do continue to keep some memory reserved.
Double tap to see the task bar.  Touch and hold any of those icons until they jiggle, then shut them down by touching the minus sign.
Them reboot.  Press and hold the sleep and hold buttons until you see the apple logo.  Ignore the red slider.
Going through the task bar and closing off old apps is a good way to keep the machine running well.

  • Wifi automatically shuts off when ethernet is connected, but I don't want that.

    Hi all,
I'm the second user of a company-owned MacbookPro (circa 2008) running Lion.  I occasionally need to connect my machine to both ethernet and wifi networks simultaneously.  However, every time I do that, a script kicks in somewhere that not-so-helpfully turns off the Wifi network for me.
I get the following popup in the upper right corner:
    http://imgur.com/5X6MW
    Airport Status
Wired network detected.  Toggling Wireless Off.
There is a similar popup that says it is turning the Wifi on if there is no ethernet cable connected.
Does anyone know where this is coming from and how to disable it?  I'm guessing the previous user of the laptop installed a script, but I haven't been able to find it.  I've been using this laptop since before Lion came out, and I don't remember it happening before Lion, but that may be because I didn't try doing two networks during that time period. It became noticable and annoying when I installed Lion though.  At first I suspected this was some default behvaior in Lion, but I've googled for the text given in the message and didn't find any Lion-related complaints.
It looks a bit like a growl notification, but it happens even if I kill growl.  I don't have anything that would obviously cause this in
    System Preferences-->Users&Groups-->Login Items
The closest thing I can find on the web is stuff like this:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/154976/2010/10/turnoffairportscripts.html
Explaining how to add a script that automatically turns Wifi on or off.  I've looked on my machine for scripts in the places suggested though and don't see anything.
I've also grepped all over ~/Library and /System/Library for 'network detected', but didn't turn up anything.
Other places I should look?  Could there be an automater script saved somewhere that would do this?
    Thanks,
    Malcolm

Ah ha!  Found it.    (Looked for it several times over the last few months, and of course finally tracked it down 30 minutes after posting the question).
My company network admins included that script in a package of stuff that got installed... probably when I was renewing my VPN certificate or something.
/Library/LaunchAgents had a reference to a folder elsewhere, and when I looked there I found togglewireless.sh
All squared away now... Thanks for reading.

  • Automatically shutting off at boot?

Alright, I'm not exactly sure which version of leopard I have because I can't even get into my computer to see. So I shut down my computer last night as usual...waited for the screen to go off and closed it. This morning when I went to boot up to check my email, I got to the apple logo and the gray loading circle thing for about 10 - 15 seconds and then my computer just turned off. At first I thought my battery might be low/dead so I plugged it in and tried to power back up...same result. Tried to boot in safe mode by holding shift...same result. A friend I suggested that I take out the battery, unplug it and hold the power button for 10 seconds...then put the battery back in and try again...same result.
Am I doing something wrong here or has anyone else encountered this problem? The last time on my computer I changed no settings, didn't install any new programs/updates...I just downloaded some pictures from my camera and up to facebook and turned it back off.
    Please help...I'm completely lost here.

You could have a fried motherboard or some malfunctioning component on your mb that is causing this problem. Or, it could be that the disk is bad and the system can't find what it needs to boot properly. This sounds like a hardware problem to me.
There are other things you can do to troubleshoot this more deeply, but you might just consider taking your system in to an Apple store and having a tech look at it.

  • Automatically shut-off and restart LabView program, and Auto-run at PC restart?

    Hello,
I am trying to periodically, say every two weeks, to close and restart a LabView program (stand-alone executable) that is running on a PC. That PC has only the Labview run-time engine installed from the LV program installer.  I knew I can have Windows to do a "Scheduled task" to turn off and on my program, but I am trying to see if there is any alternatives?
Second question is, when creating the LabView installer (so others can just do regular installation to run the executable), can I somehow include a function/option such that the installer will create a short-cut in the Windows Startup folder (in Windows XP, Start -> Program -> Startup).  What I want is that my LV program can start running automatically every time if the computer get restarted or power-cycled.
    Thanks for your help!
    Rgds,
    Harry

You could also buy a product called FireDaemon Pro.
My company hase used this with good success. It includes many options including scheduled restart.
