Automatically spell check these "submit my question to the cmmunity"

Automatically spell check these the questions to the community like Google does.  Google provides alternative searches when you misspell a word in the search.  Would seem reasonable for Apple too.
This cam to my attention when I accidentally misspelled community in my prior post about Mac OS X Technologies.
Robert

If by the 'normal' spell checker you mean the one built into OS X, you can use it in the regular (non-html) editor modes. First, make sure it is turned on in the browser app's Edit menu > Spelling and Grammar > "Check Spelling While Typing" menu item. That will underline potential misspellings in red, just like for other apps that support system-wide text services.
It's not working for me. I have the spell checker turned on in TenFourFox 4.0.1.  This is a ported version of Firefox 4.x.  Interesting enough I got spell checking turned on by control click > check spelling. I see that check spelling is now checked in the control click box.Now, I have html & TenFourFox underlined in red dots.
Do you get the underlining to work in other browser without this maneuver?
The trick is you can't access the OS X popup contextual menu with a right click on the underlined word because that brings up the ASC insert/align menu. But you can do it with a control click. This is because of a quirk of the software running the site, which is neither developed by Apple nor platform specific.
There is a way of injecting javascript into a page.  I bet you could zap away the forum right click via the injected javascript.

  • How can I enforce automatic spell checking for selected fields of data entered by form users?

    I'd like to be able to enforce spell checking of selected fields in the forms that I've created using LiveCycle Designer 8.2 at run time, as opposed to design time.  I understand the version LCD 8 has a nifty new spell checker for form designers.  But I want to spell check the data entered by users using Acrobat Reader.  And I want to enforce the spell checking automatically on selected fields only.
    Presently it seems that users filling in my forms, must know how to manually right-click on each field and select "Spell Check" from the resulting dialog box in order to check for spelling errors in the data the user has entered in the form.
    I would like to discover a way to enforce spell checking in selected fields, just as I am able to do in forms created using Acrobat Pro.  In Acrobat Pro, I can set a property for each field to require spell checking.  but that feature seems to be missing in Livecycle Designer.
    I've check the Object model for XFA forms hoping that I might find a method I can call with a Javascript, to check spelling based on an event such as onBlur.  But I haven't found a spell check method.
    Am I missing something simple?  Is there a way to set each field to be spell checked when a user is filling in the form using the free Acrobat Reader?
    Our users are not sophisticated and requiring them to spell check each field separately just won't cut it...
    Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    -David Bartholomew

    Hi David,
    Two things...
    At design time set the locale of the form to one that Acrobat spell checks. For example English (US) and English (UK) locales have spell checkers; however English (Ireland) does not. Check the Warnings tab to see if spell checking is supported for your locale.
    If your form locale supports spell checking then you can go to the button script below.
    If you form locale does NOT support spell checking then Stephanie has a great work around to force spell checking (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2233945#2233945).
    Bring a regular button onto the form and in the click event have the following:
    app.execMenuItem("Spelling:Check Spelling");
    Which will open the spell checker for all fields.  Thanks to Paul for extracting all of the accessible menu items (http://forums.adobe.com/message/1912914#1912914).
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • 2010 Publishing Site - Disable automatic spell check

    We have a 2010 publishing site.. and evertime you publsih a page it does an automatic spell check. Can this be disabled?
    I found how to disable spell check on lists but I need to stop the auto check on page publish.
    Thanks!
    sayitfast

    I also experienced this issue.
    So i tried uncommenting the registerSpellingHandler() line in the Spellcheck.js files like suggested by sayitfast. This worked for me in my dev environment. But i didn't like messing around with the default SharePoint files under the 15 hive in the prod
    environment.
    So i searched a bit more and found a decent solution for this. You can disable the spell check for certain fields by setting the "excludeContentFromSpellCheck" attribute to "true" on text area and input controls that you dont want to be spell checked. I
    did this on all my page layouts. Now i dont get false positives anymore.
    The solution i found was this one: http://blog.cube4.com.au/?p=1016
    This worked for SharePoint 2013. I dont know if this would work for SharePoint 2010 also.

  • How can I disable automatic spell checking for specific websites?

    I'd like to disable automatic spell-checking for specific domains, such as programming-oriented forums. Is there a way to do this in about:config?

    See:
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Controlling_spell_checking_in_HTML_forms
    You could create a Greasemonkey script to add a spellcheck="false" attribute or create a bookmarklet to add the attribute.

  • Automatic Spell Check - Is it an option

    Is there a way to make the GW 7 Webaccess do automatic spell check or at least prompt for spell check before it sends the email?

    Your browser should be able to do this for you, using the browser's
    built-in spell check. At least until you get to GW8.

  • Spell Check and changing multiple instances of the same word

    Hi, sorry if this has been brought up before.. I can't seem to find any reference, so here's my dilemma:
    My main writing language in Pages is Spanish and when it comes time for me to run the spell check, I usually have to change the same word a lot, because of missing accents and such. (I'd rather concentrate on writing and not worry about whether it has the right accent). Does Pages have any way to automatically detect when a word has been corrected, and pass the correction to any other instance of that word? I have tried using Find and Replace, but its not perfect, changing perfectly spelled words to include any corrections because the words, I think, appear similar. Is there a trick within Pages to do this? Does anyone know if the new version of Pages includes such a feature? Apple's iWork website and presentations fail to mention it...
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    I got it working, thanks es5f2000. I sat and thought about it and worked it out. (Pretty simple) Heres the code:
    public void findWord()
             x = iTab.getEditorList(iTab.getIndex());
             try
               int index = x.getDocument().getText(0, x.getDocument().getLength()).toLowerCase().indexOf(tFindText.getText().toLowerCase());
               int index2 = x.getDocument().getText(0, x.getDocument().getLength()).toLowerCase().indexOf(tFindText.getText().toLowerCase(), x.getCaretPosition());
               if (index >= 0)
                 System.out.println("found:)" + index);
                 x.requestFocus();
                 x.select(index, index + tFindText.getText().length());
                 if(x.getCaretPosition() > 0)
                   System.out.println("found:)" + index2);
                   x.requestFocus();
                   x.select(index2, index2 + tFindText.getText().length());
               else
                 System.out.println("Not found:(");
             catch(BadLocationException ie) {}
          }

  • How to automatically spell check emails before sending

    Hi. I have a Q10, and I was wondering how I can automatically spell and grammar check emails before sending. Currently, if a word is misspelled, I get a red underline, and most of the time, if I click on that word, I get this magnifying glass, which I have no idea what the magnifying glass is, and why that comes up instead of options for the spell check. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    BB decided it would be nice to take this feature away. I do not think that there is ONE phone left on the market (other than an old BB) that has a good old fashioned spell check.  There are A LOT of unhappy BB users who really miss and relied on spell check/check spelling before sending.  Little things like this are what made BB's stand apart from other phones.  Now it's just a wanna be iphone

    m To reject the suggested word, finish typing the word as you want it, then tap the “x” to
    dismiss the suggestion before typing anything else. Each time you reject a suggestion

  • How to disable automatic spell checking on Firefox Mobile?

    Hello,
    I installed Firefox onto my N900, and its spell checking functionality annoys me very much. I usually type in a language that it doesn't support, and even in English it sometimes underlines words which it doesn't have in its dictionary.
    I know all I have to do is set "layout.spellcheckDefault" to 0 in about:config, but I can't do that... double clicking the setting name just zooms in and out, and there is no way to disable it (or I haven't found it) from the Settings UI.
    Finally, I did it by manually editing the following file:
    /home/opt/mozilla/fennec-1.0.0/defaults/preferences/mobile.js
    However, in my opinion, a simple solution should be presented for more casual users.
    == Extensions installed: ==
    Weave
    Adblock Plus

    Caitlin,
    Thanks for your answer! Since then, I figured out that I could change those settings in about:config by selecting them and pressing enter.
    By the way I installed the nightly Fennec build, and it seems more responsive than the Firefox-named release version. It doesn't support the Adblock plugin, so that may be reason enough to switch back to the 1.0 version.

  • Check and Submit Button dont trigger the events

    All,
    I have two webdynpro activex buttons check and submit embedded on the form. These buttons have this script on their respective click events -
    app.eval("event.target.SAPSubmit();");
    app.eval("event.target.SAPCheckFields();");
    This inturn is supposed to trigger the code within the onCheck and onSubmit event handlers of SAP Interactive Form.
    But, when I click these buttons nothing seem to happen.
    Can someone help me resolve this issue as it is very criticial for me.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Divya

    All,
    I now made the events as "Server"and get an information message stating (Couldn't post data to '' ) when I click on these buttons.
    But, it still  does not trigger the event handler method.
    What can be wrong?
    Many thanks,

  • Pages IWORK'08 spell check doesn't work--here's the fix

    Pages stopped spell checking. Some suggested deleting com.apple.iwork.pages.plist off the HD in case Pages was corrupted so it could rebuild the spell check feature but that was not necessary in my case.  Here is the painless fix.
    -Open a pages document
    -Go to Edit and SELECT ALL
    -Then go to INSPECTOR  text  (blue T) MORE and be sure language is set to English, then close out of Inspector
    -Go to EDIT, SPELLING and set “check spelling as you type”  or "Check spelling"
    Just remember that PAGES needs to know what you want to do so you have to SELECT ALL for it to check everything on the document.

    That is not sufficient if you have not also corrected your Text Styles to the appropriate language.
    Text is styled with a language, usually the default, just as it is with a font or color.
    Unless you update all your styles and use them, every time you reintroduce new text or use those like Free Form you will have text with either the wrong language or no language.

  • Mac: When I click on a misspelled word in the body of an email the spell checker defaults to first word in the email even if it already spelled correctly

    The spell checker identifies incorrect spelled words, however when I right click or control click the word the spell checker only highlights in yellow the first word in the email and gives a dialog with the spelling and definition even though that word already correctly spelled. This is version 33.1 on my mac desktop running 10.10. Spell checking works properly if I use Safari.

  • Submit all questions at the AT THE END OF THE TEST  -  NOT each question separately

    Helo.
    I find some problem. I think captivate is very useful tool
    and user friendly but i have one urgent problem: i would like in my
    course all questions have 'back' and ' forward' (eventualy this may
    be 'skip') button and the approve/resume/submit button was at the
    end of the course and it would take affect to all questions (i mean
    - then all questions would be submitted and student would not have
    to submit each question separately). IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE IT IN
    ANY WAY ???
    I thought that i could remove submit button from question
    slides and place it with the last question but i can't remove it
    from slides.
    Anyway i would be glad if somone would help me because i
    cnannot find any solution of this problem in captivate's help.
    Thanks in advance for all ideas and proposed solutions

    Hi templaaar
    I am not the world's greatest on Captivate, but my
    understanding is that each question has to be submitted seperately
    and I do not know of any way in which to submit all the answers at
    once.
