Automatically Synch Gmail with iCloud?

Hej all! I have sync my iPhone Contacts with iCloud and Gmail contacts. How can I automatically Synch Gmail Contacts or iPhone Contacts with iCloud. Let me put it in simple way. When I add new contact to my iPhone contacts it is added automatically to my Gmail Contacts and vice verca but not to iCloud Contacts, and when I add new contact to iCloud it doesn't come to my iPhone or Gmail Contact? How can it be done automatically with iCloud Contacts too, so when I add contact to iPhone Contact or Gmail Contact or iCloud Contact, it should be added to my other contacts too?
I have iPhone 5s.

Well, the standard way is to set up IMAP access to your GMail (you do this in webmail, under "Settings / Forwarding and POP/IMAP". You then configure Mail.app with the correct IMAP settings.

How do you synch iCalendar with iCloud?
I cannot get my father's Calendar data to transfer via iCloud to his iPad.  His Mac is running 10.7.2, and the iPad is running OS 5.0.1 (I think, at least it is OS 5 for sure.)  Everything else (Mail, Contacts, etc) is transferring, but not Calendar.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check that both have calendar syncing enabled, also check that the calendars in iCal you are trying to sync are iCloud calendars and not on my mac calendars (click on the calendar button in the top left corner of iCal).

  • TS4002 syncing gmail with icloud

I just got a new iphone and I cannot sync my gmail with icloud.  Very annoying, since that's where all of my contacts are.  It keeps saying my passowrd is incorrect, but I re-entered it several times and I know it is correct.  The same thing happens on my ipad 2.

I was told when I bought the phone that all I had to do was sync it with my gmail and facebook and I would have all of my contacts.  Is this not true?  How do I access all of my contacts then?

  • Synching contacts with iCloud problem

Im have set up my macbook pro with contacts and synching them to Icloud, also have my facebookcontacts added to contacts.
    Everything looks fine and nice.
Though when im looking in my iPhone it not shown as is is in my computer, i got plenty of double contacts, different sorting aswell, some names are correct and others completely at the wrong place in the sorting,
I thought i would mirror everything to the iOs device?
Any hints how to solve this?
    Thanks

If there's a problam with your ID you might need to contact Apple support for assistance.  You might start with iTunes store support: https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.  They frequently deal with Apple ID issues (your iCloud ID is also an Apple ID).  They should be able to help you reset your security questions and explain any potential issues with your ID that are preventing access to iCloud.

  • Outlook 2007 contact synch problems with iCloud

Running into difficulties synching iCloud 1.0.1 contacts with Outlook 2007.  It freezes/crashes outlook quite regularly. The contacts properly synched the the first time but now I'm getting "Couldn't save changes to x items" when Outlook tries to synch with iCloud. The reason given for a particuliar contact is "got no rsrc name for msg?!".  If i try again, same message. The other option it to 'delete' which then deletes the contact(s) showing up in the error message from icloud folder in outlook but does not affect them in iCloud. I have no contacts in the default outlook folder. I am only using iCloud contacts on PC and iphone 4s.
The iCloud addin is enabled for Outlook. I removed "contacts with outlook" in the iCloud control panel and re-enabled but this did not fix the problem.
Any suggestions? I've searched for this error message apple's support but do not find any matches.
    Thanks,
    Rick

OK, I bit the bullet and manually did the only "work around" that I could come up with. When the message, "got no rsrc name for msg?!" comes up I manually noted the 10 contacts at a time from Outlook that were giving problems and choose the only option which did something - I choose the "delete" button. It deletes those 10 contacts from Outlook's iCloud.  Taking note of which ones i deleted, then, using my iphone - I located those contacts in the iCloud (as it doesn't delete them from the cloud, but neither are then in Outlook) and made a small modification to each one - e.g. adding a period in the note field, saved and exited the contact. Then I went back to Outlook and refreshed from the iCloud. Sometimes you have to wait 3-4 mintues for the update to come through. If you get a message about a new batch of 10 contacts that have synch error problems, you will need to "X" out and close the dialog box. Sometimes only a few of the modified contacts come through and you need to go back to the cloud via phone a modify those straggler contacts again (adding another period, etc.)
Once all the previously deleted contacts come back into Outlook's iCloud folder, check them off your list as complete. Refresh iCloud on Outlook (mine has a button for this at the top of Outlook bar). You should get your next batch of 10 conflicts.  Go thru the WHOLE process for ALL of your Outlook contacts.
I am pleased to say this consumed half of my Saturday doing this incredibly boring and tedious workaround for an obvious bug.  I had about 250 contacts. I pity anyone that has 500+ contacts...you many as well throw the PoS phone out and go with an android.
Problem fixed, no more Outlook crashing/hanging or contact synch 'errors'.
    all the best....

  • Sync gmail with icloud

When I set up mail and notes it asked me to set up an icloud.com address- wouldnt accept my usual gmail.
Now the notes stored on my phone nor my gmail will sync with icloud.com.
I also cannot remove the icloud.com email address and it is stuck on my phone.

In the mail app, you can set up any number of accounts. Each one will access a different email service, like iCloud and gmail. I have four accounts set up in mine, and the mail app accesses each email server (each account) independently of the others. The email app is not specifically for iCloud email.

  • Synch iphone with icloud and mac?

I am having problems with trying to find instruction on how to achieve synch for my contacts using  iCloud, iphone and Mac.
Is there any information available on this?
    If so, where??
    Appreciate your help and advice.

This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Contacts (Address Book).
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • Synch issue with icloud

    Hello,
I have upgraded to iOS5 last week (iphone4).
I have activated iCloud and chose to synch everything except mails and notes.
When I go to iCloud.com from my computer, I have :
    - only 4 contacts in "contacts" while I have 300+ in my iphone
    - nothing in calendar, while I have a lot in my iphone
    - no "photostream" link, so I don't know how to see my pictures in iCloud.com
I have connected my iPhone to personnal wi-fi and to power during many days.
How can I solve this synch issue ?
    Thx
    Adrien

If you mean that a new reminder entered on one device doesn't show up on other devices then check that
    1)  The other devices are logged into the same icloud account and have reminders turned on (settings>icloud), and
    2)  that the remider is in the "icloud" group, and not in the "on my ipod" or whatever group.

  • Synching Documents with iCloud

I currently use MS Office for Mac but would like to convert everything to the latest version of iWorks.  Converting the documents isn't the problem...but storing them on iCloud is.  I now use Google Drive, but if I start using nothing but iWorks and iCloud, what happens to .txt files and .pdf files?  I "need"...no, let me say "must" have folder organization, so I think iWorks and iCloud are probably out of the equations.
If I want a folder named "Work Stuff" and in it I want Pages documents, Numbers documents, .txt files, .pdf files, etc., apparently there is no way I can use iCloud.  If I want to have a folder named "Work Stuff" within the iCloud Pages beta, and "Work Stuff" inside the iCould Numbers beta, and similarly .txt or .pdf files within the Preview and TextEdit iCloud apps...I could.  But nothing (that I see) lets me organize files and folders based on content (as it's been done for the past 50 years) within iCloud.
I hope I'm missing something, but I don't think I am, in which case I'm relegated to keep using MS Office and Google Drive :-(

Snozdrop, I know that...but if you'll read what I posted about the "organization" I would have to have a folder in every component of iCloud named the same thing. If I'm working on a project called "TEST" and it has Pages files, Numbers files, Text files, and PDFs...these files each reside in four different places in iCloud.  Why would I want to string out the files like that?  Like my Mac or any other cloud service, I want to just create *one* folder named "TEST" and have all my related files in it.
I "get" how this all currently works...have been using a Mac for the last decade and I'm a retired geek.  I'm just saying if Apple really wanted to compete with users of Dropbox, SkyDrive, Google Drive, etc., they should be more flexible.
Also, let's say I want to store files on iCloud that are not from iWorks, TextEdit, Preview, etc.  Currently, I can't do that in iCloud. Again, I'd gladly pay to have all my storage on iCloud, but I'm not going to break it up and have some things there and others on Dropbox.
That Apple is trying to change the world regarding file structure is certainly debatable :-)

  • Synching calendars with iCloud

I installed iOS 5. Trying to cynchronize calendars on my Mac and on iPod via iCloud. Events that I schedule on the Mac appear on iPod but if I make changes on iPod they do not show up on the Mac. Anybody knows how to fix it?

  • How do I avoid synching Outlook with iCloud?

I am about to move to iCloud.  My company email, calendar and notes are in Outlook 7.  My IT advisor said don't allow the Cloud access to Outlook.  I am avoiding installing iCloud on my iPhone 3GS and iPad 2 because it'll affect the Outlook program.  Any advice here?

it won't affect the computer if you don't have iCloud control panel installed on the computer or if your not signed in iCloud control panel.
even if you install icloud (iOS 5) on any of the devices, you'll have the option to turn it on or off

  • My address book will not synch with iCloud or iPhone 4

Since upgrading to lion, my address book will not synch with icloud or my iphone 4.  Any idea what I should do?

I can't figure out what's going on.  Been working on this all day.  Yes, all the preferences are checked off and I've triple checked everything.  The truth is, after many experiments, I think the problem has to do with how address book is communicating with my contact list.  I use quickbooks 2012 for mac.  It has all of my customers and vendors synched with my address book on my mac.  If I add a customer in quickbooks it shows up in address book on my mac.  But it doesn't show up in Icloud or on my Iphone.  If I manually add a customer to my Iphone it synchs fine with Icloud and my address book.  It seems that the only time devices can't communicate is when I add a contact in quickbooks.  No matter what I do, I can't get the new contact from quickbooks to icloud or my iphone.  It looks like those programs/devices completely ignore the new contact in address book that was created in quickbooks.  I realize you probably can't help me here but if you have any ideas let me know.

  • My iPad and Mac aren't synching.  It used to automatically with iCloud.

My iPad and Mac dont seem to be synching with iCloud.  Also, when I connected the iPad via the USB it stayed on Step 2 of the synching process and never got past there.

I found the answer... to disable "Find my iPad" first before trying to delete the iCloud account, and the password was accepted. When I tried deleting the iCloud account before disabling "Find my iPad", the password wasn´t accepted.
