Automating profile creation

If I create unsigned profiles, it is easy to generate profiles for each user via scripts and place them on a web site. However, I tried the iPhone Configuration Utility on 3 different Macs, running Leopard 10.5.5 and each time it locks up during signing. (Two Intel, one PPC)
I go to General tab, click Apply Signature. Add my cert and corresponding private key file. Click Sign. Nothing happens, goes back to General tab. Then if I click again the Apply Signature and go through the process, this time the app locks up.
So my questions are:
1. Does anyone have any suggestions how to automate the process?
2. Can anyone send a sample signed mobileconfig file?
3. Did anyone have same experience with iPhone Config Utility? If so, did you find a resolution.

Seems the msp creates an installer as well, which means not easily changeable. Back to the prf file I think. Seems I could set up a prf file with default markers within it, that I can then modify those markers (ie. DefEmailAddress with "actual user email
address") from powershell, and then run the importprf registry setting pointing to this prf file, so that the first time the user logs in, it configures for them? Does this sound feasible? The issue I have, is that this all seems to be HKCU driven, when obviously,
I need to set this for MANY users at a time, hence I am attempting to use PS to do it, but would hope a way to do that not using HKCU?
Again, any advice on how to pull this off for 1,000+ users each having a different prf file, would be appreciated! :)

Office 2013 latest update broke new profile creation on all network computers

Reporting a bug here!
Setup details:
We're using samba 3 as our backend and all workstation are Windows 7 Pro x64.
Office 2013 Home and Business Retail (en-us) Click 2 Run version
Context:
Deployed to the whole network of one of our client using the Office Deployement Tool.
We update their base update (no updates) to the latest update 15.0.4569.1508
Everything was working alright after initial Office 2013 installation with no updates. After updating the all the PCs to the latest version as of 31/03/2014, the user profile creation broke for newly created user.
Symptoms and causes:
Trying to log on as a new user on the machine would give the following error on Logon before automatically loging off because it cannot copy the following file to the new user profile:
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_00.sqm
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_02.sqm
The Bici folder has Read and Execute permissions for everyone but the _XX.sqm files inside only have permissions (Full Control) for SYSTEM and Administrators and LOCAL SERVICE with the all permissions EXCEPT:
- FULL CONTROL
- TRAVERSE FOLDERS/EXECUTE FILES
- CHANGE PERMISSIONS
- TAKE OWNERSHIP
Solution:
I gave "everyone" Read and Execute permission on those files and the new user could log in and his profile got created alright.
The files with broken permissions time stamp shows they've been modified during the Office 2013 update and Bici seems to be a OneDrive related service. This bug should get fixed ASAP.
Event log error:
Windows cannot copy file \\?\D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm to location \\?\D:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.

Background job fails for BDC profile creation and role assignment

Hi Experts,
I have created a BDC Function module for Tcode 'PFCG' for profile creation and role assignment, and called this FM in my zprogram. the problem is that when i run this program in foreground it executes succesfully, but if i schedule it in background it fails throwing error in job log 'Role 'Z...' does not contain any active authorizations'. But i have created one more program to create authorization objects which runs before this zprogram.I have also checked the authorization object in 'RSECADMIN', it reflects active. I dont understand whats happening exactly when it runs background.
Below is the process of job

For creating authorization objects, role & profile i have created one dummy auth, dummy role & dummy profile respectively.
i have created dummy objects to copy the roles from dummy object and assign the same to new Auth obj, role & profile.

Oracle 11gR2 RAC: how to solve "user profile creation mask failed" ?

I am installing Oracle 11gR2 RAC using 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 whose OS are Oracle Linux 5.6) in VMPlayer.
I am using Cluster Verification Utility (CVU) to test the 2 nodes for Grid installation as follows:
[ora11g@rac1 grid] $ ./runcluvfy.sh stage -pre crsinst -n all -r 11gR2 -orainv ora11g -fixup -fixupdir /mydir -verbose
All items for rac2 are passed. There is only one item for rac1 is not passed as follows:
Check default user profile creation mask:
Node Name: rac1
Available: 0002
Required: 0022
Comment: failed
There are 3 ways to solve this issue:
1) In the file /etc/bashrc, change the line "umask 0002" to "umask 0022".
2) In the file /etc/profile, add line "umask 0022" at the end of the file.
3) In the file /etc/csh.cshrc, change the line "umask 002" to "umask 0022".
In rac2, I got the same issue in the past. I just change the line "umask 0002" to "umask 0022" in the file /etc/bashrc and the issue is solved.
But in rac1, I have tried each of the 3 options and also combined 1) and 2), 1) and 3), 2) and 3), 1) and 2) and 3). Totally, that's 7 options. But all of 7 options cannot solve the issue.
The script runcluvfy.sh still tests rac1 user profile creation mask failed. My question is:
Do any folk understand how to solve VM rac1 user profile creation mask problem ?

Hello. I follow the document "Oracle Grid Infrastructure Installation Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2) for Linux E22489-04" and do the following:
[root@rac1 /]#echo $SHELL
Output: /bin/bash
This means we need to edit Bash shell file .bash_profile.
[ora11g@rac1 ~]$vi /home/ora11g/.bash_profile
Add this line: umask 022
Then I save the file .bash_profile and reboot OS.
Then I run the following command:
[ora11g@rac1 grid] $ ./runcluvfy.sh stage -pre crsinst -n all -r 11gR2 -orainv ora11g -fixup -fixupdir /mydir -verbose
But the reusult is the same. The issue is not solved as follows:

Automated Glossary Creation

Currently re-designing our publishing workflow from custom legacy FrameMaker system to InDesign.
Trying to work out best method of handling automated glossary creation. Currently using mark-up tags in Frame to create a numerical tag for reference to a Glossary term which can then be searched within Frame through a script and each term selected in a book/document to be defined. These terms are defined within a database and then can be searched within the data-base with reference to a specific document while also keeping the data-base current with all such defined terms.
Any similar type of tagging available in InDesign where a custom tag can be created with a numerical reference (or something similar)?
Have a load of other questions and would appreciate an Adobe publishing workflow consultant contact if such is available.

Here is a (horrible!) Javascript to add a tag to any selected text and automatically prompt for an attribute value. You need to add a basic XML framework around your text first, else it will Not Run. (Select a text frame, call up the Tags panel, and then select "Autotag" from the dropdown menu for a basic structure.)
In this script you might want to adjust the name of the XML tag (the first "tag" in the double 'add' line) and the attribute name ("id" in the second part of the 'add' line).
In this form, the script does not allow you to re-define a previously tagged item (use the Structure panel for that) or to remove a tag (use Untag in the Tags panel). Running it twice on a selected text will add a new nested tag! (But as always, anything is possible with a longer/smarter/less horrible script.)

Do we have to maintain both Inbound and Out bound parameters?
Also please guide me what are the parameters i need to select for adding in both the cases for the Customer partner profile creation ?

Explorer.exe crashes at start of profile creation when domain-joined (using Samba 3.6.25)

Not sure if this is the right forum?
Getting this error (copied from Event Viewer) on a Windows 8.1 Pro client - an event ID of 1000, every time at the start of profile creation when logging in with a domain account. So explorer.exe crashes because of "twinui.appcore.dll" and profile
creation is taking a very long time (about 17 minutes).
Then after being stuck during "Almost ready" screen we are getting a Start-button that is stuck (non-clickable) (and also arrows on the metro-screen icons). Restarting explorer.exe manually helps to get a functional Start-button again.
Tried using a roaming profile and without using a roaming profile (Group Policy setting to always keep profiles local). That does not seem to matter.

Arequest for a solution of profile creation

hello.I got an used Hp palm phone and its model is P102UNA I have selected the option Secure full erase in it,after that the mobile automatically shut down's itself.And when I turn it on it ask's me to create a new account or sign in to your account I created a new account and my mobile got activated and my mobile after somedays met with a trouble named virus and then once again I select the option of 'secure full erase' after that it automatically shut down's itself.And when I turn it on I do the same process but it tells me your profile creation is failed.kindly request for solution.

Automating Administrator creation in 11g OMS

Is there any way to automate the creation of an Administrator in 11g OMS? I can automagically create the database user, but there are some resource privs that need to be granted as well. If anyone has done this, I would be grateful for some steps in the proper direction.

Thanx for the tip using emcli. We have an automated system that let's us know when a new user is requested for our OMS. I am looking to let that message be the trigger for an additional automated process for the user creation.
One thing I noticed is that the emcli command creates the application user but not the database user. It also has the incorrect database profile. Perhaps I am missing something?
Here is the command I used:

Automating album creation for a new project?

I have several projects (such as specific event shoots) with the same basic set of albums for that project (some regular albums, some smart albums). I'll have albums for specific subsets of the events (for my sports shots, there's Individuals, Action, Team, etc.).
I'd like to automate the creation of these albums, as it gets a bit tedious having to create a bunch of albums manually for each new project I create. I looked at Aperture's automator actions, but couldn't find anything related to album creation. Is there such a thing?

I'm pretty sure this is scriptable using AppleScript. I haven't really had the need to script Aperture so I can't tell you the exact syntax without looking it up myself, but it shouldn't be too hard if you've ever used AppleScript. Just open Script Editor, go to File > Open Dictionary... > Aperture and you'll get a list of the scriptable actions Aperture has available.

Automating the creation of telephone accounts in call manager

Hi, I have recently been asked to explore the possibility of automating telephone account creation in Cisco Call Manager, using scripting. Now although my scripting knowledge isn't great, one idea that was suggested was the use of .csv files? Any advice or tips about how to proceed would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I have already discussed the possibility of using CUCM 10 although unfortunately this was ruled out straight away as the cost of implementing the latest version would be too expensive for our department. I am also looking into the Cisco BAT and have an account for the CBT Nuggets to get some training on BAT. Additionally, I am looking into writing up a simple script that could be used to change the formatting of a .csv file containing staff details that could then be uploaded to CUCM.

Automating Form Creation

I have to create a set of application forms using Acrobat. My problem is that there are 12 x 6 x 5 variants, so would rather not create 360 individual forms.
At the moment the workflow is as follows:
Choose 1 of 12 Products
Open 1 of 6 applicable app form templates (inDesign)
Replace product name into [Product Name] placeholder (inDesign)
Save a PDF down of each of the 5 serial codes for each template for each product.
A simplified example:

Automating Folder Creation

Here's what I want to do. I'm trying to automate client folder creation. I have a directory called clients. Every time I create a new folder in the clients folder, I'd like for it to automatically ask me what I'd like to name the folder, then I would like it to create 6 directories inside the created folder titled "legal" "spec files" "correspondence" "modules""graphic design" and "archived materials".
How would I go about that with automator?

A couple of options. The first uses automator and a shell script, but you would run the workflow which asks for a folder name instead of you creating it first, as you requested. The second uses Folder Actions so that when you create a new folder in your clients folder it will ask for a name and create the folders.
Automator Method:
1) From Files and Folders, drag over a "New Folder" action.
2) Enter a default name for the folder in the Name: field (or leave blank)
3) Select your Clients folder in the Where: field
4) Click the "Options" button and tell it to "show this action when the workflow runs"
5) From the Utilities, drag over a "Do shell script" action
6) Select the /bin/bash shell
7) in the Pass input field select "As arguments"
8) Enter this code mkdir -p $1/legal/ $1/spec files/ $1/correspondence/ $1/modules/ $1/graphic design/ $1/archived materials/
Save this workflow and run it when you want to create the new folder. If you have quick keys, launch bar, Quicksilver, or the like, you could set up a shortcut...or, you can use cmd-space to call up spotlight and search for you workflow name and launch it from spotlight.
For the Applescript option:
I had some glitches with it in that it seemed to re-run the script after I changed the name. I couldn't figure out if the name change drove the script to run again. Also, after creating the new folder, you have to wait a few seconds for it to trigger. Kind of annoying, I thought.
