I got this working with Watch Me Do, but Automator doesn't actually look at the properties of things - its all spacial. If the FireFox icon on my dock got moved, it clicks on the icon in the place where FireFox was - opening the wrong app. If I add a folder to where I download the file so the list is in a different order, it saves to the wrong folder.
I was hoping Automator would be more like WinTask for Windows. If Automator can't do this, does anyone know of something else. Applescript? I don't think so.

Actually I've tried Fake and it seemed more limited than Automator. I did figure this out though. It was the login that throw me. I can get to the .csv files without logging in by using the absolute URL which I got from the source code. So it was really just two actions for each file - Get Specified URLs and Download URLs. Quite easy.

I'm interested in using an animation achievable through AE for use in a website. I don't know if what I'm picturing is possible, so I went here.
I'm want to use a glass ball spinning animation similiar to the one here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ_KfhMhXpQ&feature=fvwrel) for a website.
Now imagine those orbs being smaller and floating up and down - an animation easy enough to achieve in AE - but how can I get that animation done for a website? The only interactivity would be that the orbs wiggle when a button is highlighted. What adobe software would be best for it?
I ask it here because I don't want to spam by asking the same question on Flash/Fireworks/Dreamweaver.

Java Script or Action Script playing an image sequence or a flash movie. Here are a few facts that can't be ignored. Embedded movies, even overlaid will not be interactive. only the position of the movie can be controlled with a mouse. Movies are always rectangles. There is no edge detection in movies.
I'd suggest you look into flash gaming or java gaming for the web. I don't do that kind of work, but I've seen several demos. A video production / compositing forum not likely to have members with the kind of expertise needed to give you pointers on some very heavy programming and web interactivity.
I'd suggest a google search for interactive java demo. You'll find stuff like this.

Can drag and drop interactions created in Captivate 6.1 be exported to HTML5?

I need to convert some Flash drag and drop interactions to HTML5 and I'm looking at Captivate and Storyline.
Can drag and drop interactions created in Captivate 6.1 be exported to HTML5?
(I tried Captivate 6 with the drag and drop widget and that didn't work, and I can't find a trial version of 6.1).

Simple website interaction

I want to make a simple website-interaction program. The program will run on my computer. It needs to connect to a webpage, get some numbers from specific places on that page, do some calculations with those numbers and then click some javascript buttons based on those calculations.
My question is what is the way to do this? Do I need a specific programming language (do I need to write this in javascript or html? It seems not to me, but I don't know), is there some tutorial about website-interaction? This seems like a common problem, which suggests there is a (relativly) easy way to do this, but I can't find it (mainly because I don't know where to look).

If you want to develop web pages with Java, here are the rough steps.
It will take you quite some time:
* read a book on Java (Head First in Java is recommended).
* run a a number of the book's examples on the DOS command line
to get familiar with that before moving onto an IDE.
* Download and install the Eclipse IDE (its free).
* Practice writing small java projects in the IDE.
* read a book on JSP and Servlets (a JSP book typically covers both)
* Install apachie Tomcat (its free)
* configure Eclipse to work with Tomcat
* create a hello world JSP page in Eclipse and get it to display
* create a hello world servlet in Eclipse and get it to display
* Have the JSP page submit user input to the servlet.
Then, have the servlet process the input and put its results in request scope.
Then, have the servlet dispatch to the JSP page.
Then, have the JSP display the data.
* Read a book or on-line tutorial on JSTL
* Read a book on XHTML
* Read a book on Javascript
* Read a book on JDBC
* Install a free database such as Oracle Lite (there are others)
and learn how to create a database table via its browser utility tool.
* Get your JSP page to submit data to the database via the servlet.
* Read up on MVC separation of concerns for creating a web application.
* learn how to create a war file to run your applicaiton in Tomcat independent of Eclipse.

How to take off email and website subscription from 2006 iMac to sell?

I have a desktop Imac that I bought in 2006 and would now like to sell. I also bought a laptop in 2007 that I prefer using. How do I remove the email and website subscription from the desktop model without messing up the laptop info? They seem to be connected at this point and I am not sure how to take off the information from one without damaging the other.

Have you solved this problem? If not, can you be more specific? You can change the email account information using Email preferences. Which website subscription would you like to remove?

Wow! I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside. Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly. It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle. Of course I took no pictures!!! I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress... The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect. After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though. There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top. After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen. I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background. After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle. After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange. But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out.

I am truely confused by how you are attempting to achieve things.
1. The Office 2013 package is only supported if deployed globally
2. AppLocker is the way to restrict users from starting different applications
3. Office 2013 is not supported to be published to users
It seems you have issues with #3. Which is not supported. I am not saying it "doesn't" work, but considering you have issues with it - perhaps we can start by not doing it?
Ok, so what do we have left;
Per your statement, Office 2013 is published globally. Ergo, all shortcuts and applications should be available to all users.

yes. there are a couple of ways to do this.
one is the create a child movieclip of container_mc and load
into that child and assign your onPress/startDrag
onRelease/stopDrag methods to container_mc.
a second way is to load into container_mc (like you're
currently doing), wait until loading is complete (ie, use the
onLoad method of an mcl listener) and then assign your methods to
container_mc.

I suspected you used the eye icon on the timeline to hide the message, but that one has no impact whatsoever on the published version. It is only meant to be used for editing reasons on the stage, to hide objects temporarily on a crowded stage. It is confusing, certainly in CP8 where for both instances the same eye icon is used. In previous versions the Properties panel had a checkbox for 'Show in Output', which was IMO much clearer than this eye icon. But of course, that is only my personal opinion.

Only if the form has been Reader Enabled before it is sent out to the user with Reader.
There are two ways of Reader Enabling the form. One using Acrobat Standard v9 or Acrobat Professional v8 (both have license restrictions). The other is to use LC Reader Extensions ES2, which is a server product (additional costs).

Drag and Drop Interaction Scoring

Hi-
I've created a drag and drop interaction for a quiz with four
objects. Each object has to match up to the correct spot in order
for the user to get the answer correct. I've done this type of
interactions before successfully and not had a problem with
scoring.
But this time .. the only thing I can see that's different
about this quiz is that I'm not assigning any points in the "Score"
field - I am instead using the Status of Correct Response alone.
I've found that this interaction scoring works perfectly for my
other quiz interactions but there seems to be a problem with the
drag and drop - when the user moves the objects around and
temporarily places an object in the wrong (or maybe even correct)
spot, each of these movements is being racked up as correct in this
interaction So, if there's an ambivalent user they're going to get
many more points than is even supposed to be possible.
I can't see anything different that I've done with this
interaction other than the scoring. I changed to correct response
scoring because it was the only way I could figure out how to reset
the quiz score after the user leaves and comes back. (using
TotalCorrect)
Anyway, I'm open to ideas - even if it's not the scoring -
any help would be appreciated!

Don't use the quiz knowledge objects and code yourself...?
You'll find many on here who can help you with hand coding
and probably none
who know much about implementing those KO's who can answer
questions. The
reason is if you know enough to be able to answer questions,
you know enough
to know that these KO's are a short term crutch that cause
long term
problems.

Drag and Drop Interaction Wizard

I am having problems with the Drag and Drop Interaction Wizard. I am using Captivate (6.1) and when I launch the wizard I am able to select the drag objects and drop targets, but when I get to Step 3 (mapping), I am unable to map the drag sources to the drop targets. When I double click on the drag source and draw the arrow to the drop target, the arrow disappears.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do about it?

Hi,
You do not want to double click on the object in Step 3. All you need to do to map the source to destination, on the Green Items you would notice a '+' symbol, drag and put them on the drop item, you would able to map them easily that way, double clicking them would deselect the object.

Does Safari support a interactive PDF with hidden layers? I'm on version 5.0.3 and the interactive PDF displays just fine, but our web development team tells me all the layers display when they view the same PDF on Safari.

Does Safari support interactive PDFs with layers? Through the use of hidden layers and buttons we built in interactivity that allows the viewers to click on buttons to display different content. When I view the PDF in Safari 5.0.3 on my Mac OS 10.5.8 the PDF displays fine and the interactivity works. However our web design firm tell me the PDF displays all the hidden layers when they view it in Safari. Who's right?

Try updating your Safari to the latest version, 5.0.5.
Also check whether the rest of your system is up to date by going to Software Update in the Apple menu.

Having trouble having both an interactive form and an interactive page curl in a pdf?

Okay, so I need an interactive pdf with a page curl AND an interactive form. I exported my Indesign file as a swf file with the interactive page curl, (which the interactive form doesn't work on), then I imported the swf file back into Indesign, opened the media tab and chose the option to 'open file on current page' so that when I open the pdf it doesn't ask me to activate the file before use, and then export as an interactive pdf. the interactive page curl works perfectly, but the form doesn't work. How do I put an Indesign form into my interactive pdf?

If I understand correctly, you are calling the addInstance() on click of the button that you placed in your form and when you add more pages using this button and save the fikle and open it again, the newly added instances are not displayed in the form. Am I right?
If this is the scenario, the you need to store the value of the forms created using this button and call the same addInstance() method in the initialize event of your form. I.e place the same code that is there in click event of the button inside the Initialize event of the form with the number that we have saved in some hidden field.

AS2 Drag and Drop Interaction help

I am trying to create a reusable template for a drag and drop interaction.
There are 7 drag objects, 7 targets.
Based on a scenario we develop (which of the 7 services [drag objects] are the best solution, for example), I would like to create interactions where some of the drag drop combinations are correct answers and dragging/dropping other combinations would result in an "incorrect" answer.
I am having issues with designating the correct and incorrect responses in the AS code, as well as how to provide the positive (correct answers) and negative (incorrect answers) feedback after a submit button is selected.
Additionaly, I have a reset button that does not function the way I expected - move the drag objects back to the start position and allow the user to resubmit an answer.
I am using Flash CS5, but need to use AS2 as the swf file is going to be inserted into an Articulate Presenter project (Articulate does not support AS3 yet).
