Automator get the computer to detect a jpeg and add to slideshow

Howdy folks,
How would I go about setting up a slide show going to an external video output where the slideshow checks a certain folder for new images and adds the photos to that slideshow?

ray,
We just moved a couple of those CPUs the other day.  Can you indicate your location with the name of a city near you?  A user group might be nearby.

  • How can I get the computer to recognize my email and password? I have an exchange on my printer.

    hi Darryn
Hope you are doing well and sorry to learn that you are having this issue.
Taking into consideration the security of your data and your own, every time that email is reset is locked for 6 months.
I see how that can an inconvinience in your situation but remember the purpose of that in my modest opinion is to protect data that is send to you and you to that email to print, A good example.
You changed the email a week ago told your relatives and they forgot and they sent  information confidetial or private information met to you but I choose the email you had last week and I get a hold of this information.
This is why I think HP make the decision of Automaticly locking the old email as soon is changed.
What you can do to keep it as close as you can you from the one that you had previously is to add a number or another lettter to the old one and communicate the changes to your allowed senders.
    Hope this gives you a good explanation and an alternative;

When I hook my ipod up to my mac I used to get the Itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted error message. It would then sync all my song to the ipod but when I ejected it, none of the songs would be on the ipod. Now I hook it up and I get the Mac OS X can't repair the disk error message. Then the spinning colored pinwheel pops up and I can't use iTunes. Please HELP!!!!!!

Sounds like your iPod is broken. Take it to Apple or someone else who repairs iPods and see if you can get it fixed, or get it replaced.

  • I downloaded the new Pages and Numbers through my app store but when I open my old documents, it still tells me my 30 day trial is over. How do I get the computer to automatically recognize the new applications?

More information: I have a 3 year old MacBook and had been using "Microsoft for Mac" until last week when I took my MacBook in for some upgrades- including the operating system Lion. I have been unable to use the Word, Excel, etc. programs because they are not supported on the new operating system... and I already used my 30 day trial of iWork when we first purchased the computer. I decided to buy Pages and Numbers through the App Store icon. When I open the Pages and Numbers under my Applications, I can get them to work. However, when I open old documents saved on my computer, they go into the 'old' iWork messages of that my trial has expired. How do I get the computer to automatically recognize that I've purchased Pages and Numbers?

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • My ipods are no longer recognized after I installed my Iphone I have 2 ipods that I have music on and still want to use them so how do I get the computer to recognize the ipods again?

I recently got an Iphone and after I installed it on my computer my 2 ipods are no longer able to sync to the computer how do I get the computer to recognize the 2 different ipods so I can still use them?

Since you already had two iPod before getting the iPhone, what exactly did you need to "install" to use the iPhone?  Doesn't it use to the same iTunes installation you already used with the iPods?
So, I guess my question is, what changed on the computer when you started using the iPhone?
What happens now when you connect the iPod?  Is the iPod still seen in Windows device manager?

Im making a wedding video and cant figure out how to get the bridal music off my itunes and onto my computer.. Im using the windows movie maker

    Marian,
Let's be clear on one thing here. The manual setting is an iPod setting, not an iTunes one. So, once you've set it to manual (and you appear to have done that correctly), then you can connect it to any number of computers without changing that setting.
"The grey thing occurs on one pc only"
This is the thing that I don't understand, if your iPod is set to manual, then it shouldn't happen on any computer. If you connect the iPod that is set to manual to this pc, and then click on it in the source listing, then you would be looking at the songs on the iPod, and they should not be greyed out. When you connect to the "other pc" under these same circumstances, they are not greyed out?

  • How do I get the computer to automatically eject a drive before it enters Sleep?"

I have an external eSATA drive connected via PCI Express card to my Mac Pro.  When I wake the computer, I get a complaint about not correctly ejecting the disk.  How can I get the computer to eject the drive before entering Sleep?  There are two partitions on the drive, so the answer will need to include "Eject All."  Perhaps an Apple Script could tell the drive to eject, but how to automatically run it?  If I could schedule it to run five or ten minutes before the scheduled Sleep, that should work.
The reason for the external drive is to back up my TiVo recordings...WARNING...If you have a DVR Expander connected to your TiVo and EITHER fails, you lose everything!  I now transfer all my recordings from my TiVos to this drive so I won't lose recordings in the future.  Plus I can take the drive with me and connect it via a Thunderbolt wire and watch them on my laptop.

  • I need to get the movies back to APPLE TV and off my computer

So I finally, after 6 months get the ATV to finally show up and work in my Itunes, only by connecting it directly to my computer via ethernet. But instead of transferring the TV shows from my computer to the apple tv, the ATV moves all of its content to my Mac computer leaving me with a whopping 246MB left on my hard drive.
Why did my shows not transfer to the ATV, because apparently ITUNES couldn't connect to the internet to verify I owned them. Why could it not connect to the internet? Because the ATV was plugged into the Ethernet. And Why was the ATV plugged into the Ethernet, because it won't connect any other way via the wireless network we have set up for whatever reason.
Here is my immediate dilemma, I have ATV movies and shows clogging up my computer. I would love to delete them, but the ATV literally removed them from itself.
How do I get my stuff back on to the ATV? Somebody, please anybody, help.

how much space do you have on your appleTV? maybe you don't have any space left to put those shows from your computer... how do you have syncing set up on your computer?
Here is my immediate dilemma, I have ATV movies and shows clogging up my computer. I would love to delete them, but the ATV literally removed them from itself.
this is actually how it is supposed to work... the files on your computer are meant to be the masters and you appleTV syncs with these... not the other way around. if you buy something via your appleTV it gets pushed back back to your computer.
the appleTV is not meant to act as external storage or backup... there is no easy way to get files off of your appleTV if the drive on your computer fails.. there is no way to backup files if you only store them on your appleTV.. if the drive fails on your appleTV or you experience trouble on your appleTV and are forced to do a restore... BOOM! you just lost everything on you appleTV.
unless you can afford to loose all of your media files via a drive failure... you need a backup strategy... store your files on a 'working' drive on you computer and use time machine to backup to backup drive. only use appleTV to temporarily store media files that you want available when you computer is off... that's all it's meant for.

  • I'm getting the grey screen during start up and can't boot the computer. I did a cmnd R but worried it would automatically wipe my hard drive and reinstall OS.  Is there a risk at cmnd R will result in wiped HD without me actively making that choice?

I'm getting the grey screen during start up and can't boot the computer - MacBook Pro with lion.
I did a command r after doing some research but got nervous that it would automatically wipe my hard drive and reinstall OS.
I was nervous because it asked me for language for software use before any options were presented (such as repair via disk utility). It looked similar to an OS install. So I powered off....Is there a risk at command r will result in wiped HD without me actively making that choice?

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
