Autonumber In DSP 3.0

I'm using an Oracle database and need to setup autogenerated keys for my tables. I found some documentation on doing this for DSP 2.5, but I haven't found a similar document for DSP 3.0. Can you help?
Thanks!
Jeff

Never mind...found it in properties when selecting primary key field.

  • Keynote and DSP

    Ok, just got Keynote 3 and i love it.
    I love the feature export to iDVD, but can i use this with DSP and still have it work.
    When i export from Keynote via iDVD it took my presentation and man, it made every slide it's own chapter in the chapter menu, nice.
    I love that but i'd love it more if i could have this in DSP.
    I was making a scrapbook of Christmas in Keynote and looks good but now i was gonna take it into DSP and add some more elements like all my Christmas footage and i have a trivia game going as well as i'd like the keynote movie in DSP so i could add subtitles on and off function.
    i had export my keynote as a QT movie to see if that would work but it gave me black on the right and left when i changed the aspect ratio to 720X480.
    Thanks Charles

    So far there's no way to open iDVD 6 files in DVDSP. What you're NOT seeing inside iDVD that actually there are chapter stops at EVERY build. The chapters menu doesn't show this, it only shows each slide. I'd personally love to be able to open one of these projects in DVDSP and redo it a bit, so I'd get interactivity, or a soundtrack, etc.
    Let's hope DVDSP 5 will have this function...of course, if the new policy for DVDSP stays in place, you'll have to buy the entire Final Cut Pro Studio to get it. Check this out:

  • One DSP for Conference and Voice ?

    Dear all,
    I have one DSP (PVDM2-16) in the R2801 "12.3.11T". Can I configure HW conference and voice port (VIC2-4FXO) at the same time.
    Indeed, I cannot configure as follows:
    "maximum session X" under the conference profile. I only found X is "0". Can I allocate the DSP into different purposes?
    Thanks for your help

    Another problem with this config is that the PVDM2-16 is only 1 dsp, and conferencing requires a reserved dsp:
    PVDM2-16 16-Channel Packet Fax/Voice DSP Module
    1 DSP (TI 2510)
    Q. Can conferencing share the resources with transcoding or voice calls of a single DSP?
    A. No. Conferencing needs a dedicated DSP resource. If a DSP is assigned for a conferencing session, then it cannot be used for transcoding or voice call initiations or terminations. Transcoding and voice calls can share the resource of a single DSP, however. Note that conferencing needs a dedicated DSP, but not a dedicated PVDM2 module. For example, PVDM2-64 contains 4 DSPs; if one of them is used for conferencing, the other three can still be used for other purposes.

  • Using a Mac Mini for DSP

    Hello!
    I am wondering how many users are there out there using a Mac Mini for DSP to allow for more processing power.
    wondering what types of experiences people have had out there/how well the machines work together. and if you would or would not recommend doing so
    i would assume that it would help out with all of the processing and makes things sound better in the end?

    I don't do it on a regular basis, but I tested out using an intel mini as a node on a G5, and it worked fine. Probably added about an additional 25% of what the quad could do (so if the quad did 100 of a plugin, the mini added 25 more).

  • Can you change a story or text frame's index? (re autonumbering)

    Does anyone know if there is a way to change the index of a text frame or story without changing the actual visual layout of an InDesign document? So far all I can come up with is to cut the frame and repaste it into the document. You can move a story within the index list of a document, but that visually cuts and pastes the story text.
    actDoc.stories.item(1).move(LocationOptions.BEFORE, actDoc.stories.item(0));
    I can't see any method to change the index of a text frame (other than cutting and repasting).
    I want to put together some tests. I have a bunch of questions. Each question is a single story in a single text frame in an InDesign document. The text frame is linked to an InCopy document. The first paragraph of the question has a "QuestionNumber" style but the para style has no numbering. I want to have only one version of each question (the InCopy story) but to put the questions into different tests in different orders with different numbering. What I do is to create an InDesign template for the tests that has a QuestionNumber para style that includes autonumbering with the "Continue Numbers across Stories" option checked. This works beautifully and the questions are numbered in the order in which the text frames (and stories) are (via a script) copied from the question document and pasted into the test paper document. When the same question/story/textframe is used in two tests it is numbered in the order in which it is pasted into each test paper (but the original stays the same because it has no numbering).
    The next step would be to be able to reorder the question numbers within the test paper (if you wanted to, say, swap questions 18 and 20). To do that you have to change the index of the story because the autonumbering across stories seems to depend on the index of the story.
    What seems to happen is that stories are indexed in the order in which they are pasted into a document, but text frames are indexed in the opposite order. If you paste a text frame with one story into a new document, it is textframe.item(0) and story.item(0). If you then paste a second one into the document it is story.item(1) but textframe.item(0). The first text frame becomes textframe.item(1). When you cut a text frame and repaste it, it is reindexed as if you were pasting it for the first time.
    The autonumbering also seems to be segregated by page. If you have questions 1 and 2 on page 1 and questions 3 and 4 on page 2, you can move around the text frames for 1 and 2 on the page but the numbering stays the same. Likewise for 3 and 4. If you drag 3 across to page 1 it stays as 3 but if you drag question 4 across to page 1 it becomes 3, and the original question 3 on page 2 becomes question 4. It is confusing but makes sense in a weird way once you get the hang of it.
    Anyway, I have probably answered my own question and the best way to renumber the questions in a test is to run the script again and create a new document using a new question order.
    But any other ideas are welcome.
    Thanks.

    hi Brian
    which version of InDesign you have ?
    I have checked these steps on CS3 and CS4:
    first I've set ON to option in preferences to preserve links when placing
    then I've placed DOC file as AnchoredTF in new Story
    then I've copied this AnchoredTF and pasted it on page, and then I've pasted it as another AnchoredTF - each time there was new lick created to the same DOC file
    then I've set OFF to option in preferences to preserve links when placing
    and even when I again copied and pasted this AnchoredTF with placed DOC file - it still add new link on Links palette
    so maybe with InCopy stories there is next bug or next "feature" ...
    [edit]
    ok - I've checked InCopy file - after exporting TextFrame as InCopy Story
    and it's like you've said - pasting on page - new link is created - pasting as Anchored - link isn't created ... no matter if option in preferences is set or not ...
    verdict - we've found new bug
    BUT ... if you link it again - by CTRL+D method - link is preserved even if option in preferences is set to off so you can have more than one InCopy Story placed as AnchoredTF in same parent Story ...

  • Audition 1.5 and E-Mu Patchmix DSP

    Hi, I've got a problem using Audition 1.5 with the Patchmix DSP software that came with my E-Mu 0404 sound card.  I know that lots of people have issues with this software, but I've done some searching and can't come up with the answer to my problem.
    I have been using this setup for a year or two now to record the output from my Line6 POD.  At the moment, I've got my Pod's L output connected to my 0404 card L input, and I'm recording mono guitar tracks.  I have no problems doing this, but I want to do something more complex now.
    I'd like to use three of Pod outputs at once, rather than just the one.  I'd like to record the Pod's L and R outputs onto two separate tracks in Audition, plus the Pod's unprocessed (dry signal) output into a third track as a backup.  Hence I want to arm three Audition tracks to record simultaneously.
    In order to actually physically connect this, my E-Mu card only has two analog inputs, and so I am going to need to connect the Pod L/R outputs to the E-Mu L/R inputs, and use the Pod's digital output to connect to the E-Mu digital in to record the unprocessed signal.
    This is all fine and well in theory, but my problem is that I cannot work out how to tell Audition which input to use for each track.
    In PatchMix DSP, I have a "Send" in the PCI card L input strip which goes to Host ASIO in 1/2.  I have a "Send" in the R input which goes to 3/4, and a "Send" in the S/PDIF input which goes to 5/6.  I *assume* that this is set up correctly....?
    In Audition, when I go to Options -> Device Order -> Recording Devices, I only have two options to choose from - Wave (E-Mu E-DSP Audio Processor) and Wave Mapper.  I would have thought that I should be able to select from Wave 1/2, Wave 3/4 and Wave 5/6 - which would then be nice and simple.
    So my question is, how do I route these three separate input signals to three separate Audition tracks, when Audition only seems to allow me to select the card itself as one single input?  Any suggestions?

    I'm afraid that the only answer to this is to upgrade Audition. Your problem is that you are using 1.5, and that only supports WDM drivers, not ASIO. And E-Mu, despite promising one years ago, never came up with a multichannel WDM input driver for any of their devices. They have a multiple output driver for WDM, but that's pretty useless to most people. The driver they have only allows the minimum M$ input spec for an audio device - 2 channels.
    If you want to use all the channels you've paid for, then you need ASIO-based software - like Audition 3.

  • DSP delay between AI to AO

    LV 7.1.1 Embedded & DSP 1.0 & DSK6711
    Hi All,
    I am using LabVIEW DSP (without ever learning LabVIEW) so this may be a simple one:
    I have a VI which reads an analogue input and sends it to an analogue output with a While loop around it. Nothing else in the VI.  I'm feeding in a sine wave from a signal generator to the line in on my DSK and looking at the output generated by my VI on the line out..
    With 6711 DSK, I can either set my AI / AO to multiple samples or single samples.  Sampling rate on DSK6711 is fixed at 8 kHz.
    1) With AI/AO set to single sample, I obseve on my scope that the output sine wave is delayed compared to the input sine wave by 5 msec.  Where is the 5 msec. delay coming from?
    2) With AI/AO set to multiple samples, I obseve on my scope that the output sine wave is delayed compared to the input sine wave by 53 msec. With DSK6711, sampling frequency is 8 kHz and samples per frame is 128, so it will take 16 msec to fill a frame.  I read in the help about double buffering, so maybe the 53msec delay is made up of 2*16msec +1*16msec + 5 mec = 53 msec. Where is the 5 msec delay coming from?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kevin_M

    Hi Saz2,
    Actually I sorted this out - I should have replied to my own query for the benefit of others.
    Most of the delay is caused by the sigma/delta A/D and D/A conversion in the Codec.  I compared a code composer file against Labview, and the delay is only marginally worse with Labview, about 32*sample time with code composer and 40*sample time with Labview for TLC320AD535 codec.

  • Which card should I buy if I like customizable EAX/DSP listening effects?

    Hello all,
    I'll first tell you, what audio system I currently use&know, then what I am looking for... and about the mispurchase I have unfortunately already made.
    My current main audio system:
    SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium PCI-E on Win7 x64
    Samsung HW-C770 (includes 7.1 boxes and an AVR that supports distinct 8-channel connection to the PC)
    my EAX/DSP listening profiles created in Creative Console Launcher / Audio Creation Mode (especially making use of custom Reverb and Chorus DSP effects for my/our music&film listening enhancement and pleasure...)
    I am looking for:
    a small version of the above for another room
    must be compatible with my Laptop => USB connection!
    (I already have 5.1 boxes with a built-in amplifier for this room)
    My mispurchase: I already bought a SoundBlaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro and am very disappointed with it, because:
    only the Creative Console Launcher / Entertainment Console is available! (The few predefined EAX environment effects available in the entertainment console are not customizable. Also, they sound pretty bad in my ears compared to my hand-crafted ones...)
    the Audio Creation Console is not available (not even the game console), so no customizable effects like Reverb/Chorus/AutoWah at all!
    I already found the sad cause for this: this USB card does not have a real X-Fi chip built-in and is pretty much just a software solution (TruStudio...) without user-programmable DSP effects!
    Question 1:
    Does anyone know of any Creative USB sound card that allows me to create custom EAX/DSP listening profiles (i.e. customizing the Reverb, Chorus, Mixer settings like in audio creation mode...)?
    What about the non-pro version of the X-Fi 5.1 Surround, maybe/hopefully, because it is from the pre-TruStudio generation? Can someone with this card please either confirm or deny, before I make my second mispurchase...?
    Question 2:
    Secondly, I already wonder what Sound Card I should buy, when I'll assemble my new main PC system sometime next year. As explained above, I need 7.1 for my boxes and a programmable DSP for listening pleasure.
    I read daniel_k's post about the Recon3D generation cards and was appalled, because he says: "... X-Fi Titanium Features you'll be missing: ... Fully programmable DSP in Audio Creation mode.". So, this is a no-go for me!
    What about the new ZxR, maybe? Does its hardware have the X-Fi features back or is it still weaker like the Recon3D?
    Thanks for your input!

    Many of the good effects and presets from the SoundBlaster Audigy (or even Live!) generation unfortunately did not make it into the X-Fi software generation, but you are lucky: the customizable Jazz Club preset did. To find it, enter audio creation mode and click on the "..."-button of the Reverb effect. Then open the drop-down box and choose "Jazz club". Click on the advanced button to see (and optionally change) all of its effect details (this screenshot is for the Royal Hall effect, but the Jazz Club is at the same place...)
    It is not so easy with the X-Fi software to stack two EAX/DSP effects, but this is necessary for great-sounding custom audio profiles. However, it is possible to get back about 80% of the features you once had with the older Audigy software generation via a method that I have detailed in another thread.
    So you see: even during the Audigy=>X-Fi transition there has already been some feature loss. Then the effect features were lost altogether on hardware level(!) in the transition from X-Fi=>Recon3D as Daniel K. pointed out. My hope was that Creative brings them back in the Z series, but I fear this company has shredded yet another one of its once great features/assets...
    This is really a pity, because with proper marketing and just a few more software development days (like for an export&import option for sharing custom audio presets with friends) these features and listening effects could have made a big selling point in the entertainment market... Therefore I am also honestly worried about Creative's future as they continue to make severe marketing beginner's mistakes and don't use/advertise their strengths!
    I also had the idea of looking for a good EAX-based audio player when I changed to the X-Fi generation, but found nothing that came remotely close to the EAX/DSP effects one could/can configure with the SB Audigy or X-Fi (with the help of my workaround). If someone knows of a good EAX software playback solution, please let us know as it might be the only viable way after the X-Fi generation to get these features back!
    >>"You may have to do the same as what im going to do for my Z until Creative bring it back with a upgrade for us unhappy customers who thrive on this feature."
    I have already waited years for them to bring back these basic Audigy features into the X-Fi software generation. I have long since lost this hope...
    Thanks for the link to the X-Fi HD USB card, but it is not useful for my scenario as I have 5.1 speakers. Additionally, it is also based on this TruStudio software, i.e. I assume that it is not software-capable of configuring EAX/DSP listening profiles either. (Can someone confirm?)
    >>"but i cant believe the X-Fi version doesn't even have the X-Fi Core it has to have a cut down version at least."
    I have this info from a German forum, where they basically say that the 5.1 surround USB card does not have a real X-Fi chip, because it is built like the X-Fi Xtreme Audio (which doesn't have one either). I think this is plausible. In the same thread it is also confimed (by a cited eMail answer from Creative support) that the 5.1 surround only offers the entertainment mode (and thus loses out on all the entertainment/listening effects that you can only configure with "audio creation mode", which should simply be named "expert mode" in my opinion).

    It's obvious I'm doing something wrong, but I can't for the life of me figure out what. Does anyone have any ideas?

    You didn't say how you want it to be, but FM appears to be numbering exactly
    how you've set it. The number before the dash is the chapter number and
    continues numbering from the previous chapter in the book. The number to the
    right of the dash is also numbering (as a paragraph) from the previous
    chapter in the book.
    If you want the figure number (the part after the dash) to restart in each
    chapter, you need to go to the book file, right click and choose Numbering.
    Then set  "Restart paragraph numbering" on the Paragraph tab. This will
    restart the number after the dash to 1 at the beginning of each chapter.
    I would also add that it is confusing to the reader to have Table 1-1 come
    after Figure 1-2. Check out this document, "The Case for Simple Numbering:"

  • JavaScript script: How to add a DSP Interactive WebView to a page?

    Hi forums experts,
    I'm working on a project where we want to automate the insertion in a indesign (*.indd) of a DSP WebView using a JavaScript (*.jsx) script.
    I did an extensive research of the JavaScript API but i could NOT find any reference of the "DSP", "WebView".
    Is this possible?
    Is there a hidden API located somewhere?
    What is an alternative? IDML?
    Any help would be extremely appreciated.
    Regards

    What i was asking is how to create that "WebView" using JavaScript in InDesign,
    Laubender, i've noticed that XML too, by inspecting thr IDML saved file.
    So what i've done is create an javascript to create a rectangle and add in the exact labels specified in the IDML file (also reported in the previous post).
    AND IT WORKS.
    var myRectangle = myPage.rectangles.add({geometricBounds:[myPageMarginTop, myPageWidth-75-myPageMarginRight, myPageMarginTop+75, myPageWidth-myPageMarginRight]});
                    myRectangle.insertLabel("kAdobeDPSInteractivity_Type", "WebView");
                    myRectangle.insertLabel("kAdobeDPSInteractivity_URL", "/Magazine/codes/index.html");
                    myRectangle.insertLabel("kAdobeDPSInteractivity_UseTransparentBackground", "true");
                    myRectangle.insertLabel("kAdobeDPSInteractivity_ScaleContentToFit", "false");
                    myRectangle.insertLabel("kAdobeDPSInteractivity_IsTrustedContent", "true");
                    myRectangle.insertLabel("kAdobeDPSInteractivity_AutoStart", "true");
                    myRectangle.insertLabel("kAdobeDPSInteractivity_UserInteractionEnabled", "true");

  • DSP- ClasscastException Problem in BPM

    I get the Classcastexception in BPM when i try to call an update method from a dsp web service. It is caused by the XML vlidation that happens on the dsp side before the update process (from the dsp server log). I have used the try catch in the logical data service.
    How do I handle the database errors (or XML validation errors) in DSP and send the reason of the error to the client(BPM).
    Edited by: user1587779 on Oct 3, 2008 9:59 AM

    Mike,
    Thanks for the response.
    As I said earlier, I am calling the DSP web services in the BPM to update a table. I am doing this update using the NON-SDO custom update in the DSP layer itself. So the BPM is calling the DSP update method and it is passing 2 parameters, original and current elements. (Not the changed-elements).
    Since I am running the DSP services locally, when I try to do the update from the BPM which is calling the DSP services that are running locally, this is the error I could see from the 'Console' in the Workspace studio.
    Caused by: weblogic.xml.query.exceptions.XQueryDynamicException: {err}XQ0027: Validation failed: error: cvc-complex-type.2.4a: Expected element 'RECV_DT' instead of 'REQ_FL' here in element
    But the error I get in the BPM workspace is as below:
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.axis.message.Text
    at org.apache.axis.message.SOAPFaultBuilder.onEndChild(SOAPFaultBuilder.java:299)
    at org.apache.axis.encoding.DeserializationContext.endElement(DeserializationContext.java:1090)
    at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.AbstractSAXParser.endElement(Unknown Source)
    Below is the dsp update method used in BPM:
    declare procedure tns:updateInfo($original as element(csp1:INFO), $current as element(csp1:INFO)) as xs:string? {
         declare $message as xs:string;
         set $message :="failed";
         try{
              tns:updateInfo_ORIG(gen:generateChangedElement($original,$current,tns:getKeyList()));
         } catch (* into $err , $msg, $obj){
              fn:error(xs:QName("UPDATE_FAILURE"),
    fn:concat("Update failed on due to: ", $err, $msg), $obj);
    set $message := "success";
    return value $message;
    As you said we will put try/catch in the client side code. But is there any way to tell the client of the exceptions happening in the DSP side?
    Thanks

  • Blurred text in DSP interface??

    I was placing some chapter markers manually in DSP, and as I was scrolling back and forth, the chapter marker text above the timeline ruler would blur at random... looked like a graphics card or gui issue. I can't get a screen grab, the moment I change over to grab it clears back up..
    Could this be anything to do with the automatic font smoothing? Ideas? It's not crashing on me, but it definitely makes me nervous, because it's happening in the interface, not the media..
    thanks,
    kdog

    Hi
    Something like this?:
    I was working this morning in a project and when I scrolled the Log window (by mistake!) found that crazy "speed effect" ! I remember this post and tried with the timeline and ... wow ... I found that!
    It's crazy, first time I see it. I have 10.4.11 / DVDSP 4.1.2 / QT 7.2 (a little lazy to update QT!).
    If you cnahge apps and return to DVDSP it solves, or if you click different windows too. The timeline issue is not 100% consistent, I cannot reproduce it all the times I try.
    Someone else?

    Liquid Data 8.5 aka AquaLogic DSP 2.0 is now available on the BEA site and can be downloaded via product AquaLogic links.

    Hi Arun,
    What do you mean by "keeping a copy of the sdo*.xml file in the DSP project".
    Can you tell me how to avoid the error?
    BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic is replaced by BEA AquaLogic Data Services Platform.
    My project contains "urn:com-bea-ide:project.type:LiquidData", and there's LiquidDataControl.jar in the Library, so I guess it is developed by Liquid Data Control.
    If I install BEA AquaLogic Data Services Platform, can the Platform recognize the project correctly?
    As I can't find BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic installer now.
    And can you simply explain to me that what's the relationship between ALDSP/Liquid Data for Weblogic and SDO?
    Thanks very much!
