Autorun and Creative Zen Mi

Hi, we just bought Zen Micro the other day. Have not been able to install the disk. It gives us the following error message:
Autorun.exe - The instruction at "0x0040cab2" referenced memory at "0x00002a29". The memory cold not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program.
If anyone could help us, that'd be greatly appreciated. BTW, we run Win2000.

Do you get this error repeatedly? Always the same error?
Are you an experienced computer user?
Try just opening the CDROM in explorer, bypassing the Autorun feature. (I'm assuming that you know how to do that, meaning you answered yes to the 'experienced user Q above)
The autorun is set to start up the \ctrun\start.exe file, so try that. Or try any other program with the name 'setup' that looks good to you.
Also, you may wanna make sure you're logged on as Administrator (or with a user in the Admin group), so that driver install can actually be done.
Finally, I'm using win xp here. I'm assuming, but have no real clue, that win 2000 is a supported platform.

  • Itunes and Creative Zen players

    Hi
We have both PC's and Macs at home and while I have a new IPod Touch, my wife has a Creative Zen Touch player.
How can we transfer songs from her Itunes library from either her PC (Itunes for Windows) or my Mac (Itunes for OS X)?
    thanks

iPod supports MP3 and AAC. Zen supports MP3 and WMA. So make sure the songs you are talking about are in MP3 format.
If on the same computer, add the MP3s in the iTunes library to the Windows Media Player library. If on a different computer, copy them over, using a handy medium such as a flash drive.
Assire that your future purchases do not contain DRM. There is no DRM scheme that is common to both iPod and Zen.

  • Tiger and creative zen vision

hi. i live in the us but i am currently visiting in paris, france. i brought my g3 ibook (new to me) and my creative zen vision with me but no software to transfer music from the zen to the mac. that is what i need to do now to continue with some video projects i'm working on. i've tried to use itunes, real player, and nowhere in the software do i get any indication that my zen is plugged in. i've gone into itunes and authorized this computer... that's the most "advanced" thing i've gone. when i plug the zen into the mac, the zen does turn on but there is no icon. i've searched all over the forums for hours now and can't figure out what to do next. thanks for any help. ~laura

    Hello laura
Creative don't supply drivers for Macs, only windows, but there is third party driver support for Macs from XNJB

Check the device list to see if yours is listed.

  • ITunes and Creative ZEN....

Is ITunes compatible with Creative's ZEN VISION: M. how do i sync them if they are???

For a more direct Cocoa-based interface with your Creative Zen player, you might try looking at the XNJB software. Support for the Creative Vision:M is only beta level in the current release (version 1.2.1, April 15, 2006) -- not as advanced as support for other Zen Nomad players, but you can try checking the forums at the XNJB site for reactions from other Vision;M users. This is freeware, and since you have 10.4 you should simply be able to download the binary. More generally, Panther users can compile the source code. Intel is supported. Here is another article describing the XNJB effort with a screenshot. Hope this helps

  • Windows Vista and Creative Zen Touch/ Creative Media Sou

Hey there, I just got a shiny new laptop with Windows Vista (32 bit) and would like to install the media source player. Unfortunately I lost the CD with the installation long time ago. I downloaded all kinds of files for the Zen (the media player and the drivers) from the Creative site, but I just can't get it to work. Can anyone please tell which files I need to download and in which order That would be lovely! Many thanks,Julia

I would work through the reset procedures given under the various FAQ threads and then try the firmware upgrade again after getting it out of recovery mode as that seems to be the issue. There seem to be a number of threads with things to try. I would not give up but first work through the various suggestions to get it out of recovery mode. Then post separately re the recovery mode problem to see if anyone has ideas for solving that first. Did it go into recovery mode immediately after the firmware upgrade? Will it let you try to do the firmware again? When I connect it takes about 20 secs before the player is recognized by media player. In terms of transfer to your own laptop - do you have a burner on the friends PC for burning a DVD or 2. Or a slower way is multiple transfers using a USB memory stick.

  • Software Autoupdate and Creative Zen Xtra 30GB Mp3 Pla

    Hi,
I recieved a replacement for my Zen Xtra which broke under warranty (very unimpressed with Creative at the moment) and since the scroll wheel wasn't working properly I installed the latest firmware and now that's OK.
However while using the Software Autoupdate to do this I also installed the latest of all the other software for the mp3 player. Since this I haven't been able to use my DVD player at all (It's still installed but doesn't notice any disks) - the two are DEFINATELY related since it stopped working virtually as the software installed. Everything I could download there (Mediasource etc) installed except for the Jukebox drivers which give an error.
The other problem is that although I've been able to uninstall all the other stuff Mediasource is still installed and is stuck that way - "An installation support file could not be installed. The system could not find the file specified." - looks like Creative haven't updated their uninstall program for the new version of Mediasource to me.
I've emailed Creative technical support but I wondered if anyone here'd had the same problem and is there any way to fix it without formatting? (It'll be impossible to format and reinstall XP without a working DVD dri've...).
Could anyone link me some sort of iso/bin/etc of the CD that comes with the player itself? I might be able to install that with Daemon Tools and then see if I can persuade it to uninstall itself then.
    Any ideas?

Anecdotally they will honour the warranty of the country you purchased in, so 90 days parts and labour for the USA, and you might get another 9 months parts only...

  • Audiosync and Creative zen to

Sadly, my computer is only 2GB and my soon-to-get-here zen touch is 20GB. I was wondering if there is anyway to load my cds onto the zen and the current mp3s i have on my computer. I figure this is probably not a problem, but if I load my cds onto the zen and then take them off my computer, will they be deleted from my zen next time I audiosync? if so, is there a way to work around this? If you cant tell, i don't know too much about the audiosync feature yet, there is very little info I can find online about it.
    thank you

They will not be deleted from your zen when you sync up. You can choose to sync from your zen to your comp(songs on the zen are copied and placed on your gard dri've), from your comp to your zen (all song in your PC library are copied and placed on your zen) and there is also simultaneous sync up which does both at the same time, I think. I haven't used it so I can't say for sure.

  • USB Car Stereo and Creative Zen To

    Hi all,
I understand that plugging my Zen touch 20GB into a car stereo using its integrated USB port wont work. However, If I drag my MP3s into the Data storage section of my player (so it will be acting as a storage device), will they play through the car stereo with USB?
    Thanks!

    Amraam,
The Data storage section of the Zen Touch isn't of Mass storage class so I don't think it will work with your car stereo system assuming those stereo system work with mass storage class device.

  • Problem with Creative Zen and Win 7

    # I have Creative Zen player almost 4 years. I recently bought a new computer? with Win 7 operati've system, and since then my creative Zen player will no logner to connect with PC.
I tried everything?, but creative centrale it will not recognize it's. When I try with Win XP?everything is OK?.
What is wrong with? Win 7 and Creative Zen?I have the software? for the Win 7.
    Please help me.

I have a refirbishd ?NOMAD Jukebox, that uses the ZEN USB 2.0 drivers and got it to work under Win7Wiltimate x64.
Install the regular XP drivers as administrator.
Install the NOMAD explorer (I know, this will not work on WIn7).
    Install WinAMP (http://www.winamp.com)
Now you're set to go! Fire up WinAMP and go to the media library. There connect the ZEN to your computer and if all goes right, it should find your ZEN without any problem under proteble devices. Select it and have fun using your ZEN under Win7.
Adding tracks is a simple copy from the Windows explorer and past in the WinAMP library screen.

  • Help with my Creative Zen Nee

I recently brought a Zen Neeon 52MB, but i accidently drop it and i lost my?receipt. What can i do about this? Is there somewhere that i can repair it, and of course, repair which would need paying. Not expecting free repair.

if it crashes theres a small hole on the same side as the volume put a pin in you should feel a click if done correctly. it should then start up. as for your nomad explorer problem you should still be able to access your player from "my computer" there should be your dri'ves, nomad explorer and creative zen touch try getting to it through "creative zen touch. if none of that works maybe try removing all the software and install it all again. maybe update there firmware. oh if you have firmware version 2 nomad wont work. i miss it too. dont lose faith i've had mine for over a year now and had (and still am having) just about every problem. hope that helps Sm: )er

  • Creative zen touch & windows vista 32 bit

Can anyone tell me which Firmware or software I need to install so that I can get my mp3 player working again. Have Windows Vista 32 bit, and Creative Zen Touch with about 5 gigs worth of music on, which is now stuck on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a zen neeon. Tried running the program, all the set up prompts seem to work, but the program is nowhere to be found after "installation".
I don't want to have to buy another player, seeing this one has 200 songs in it. (which is nothing compared to your 5 gigs!Would be a real pain in the ar$e.

  • Help with my Creative Zen Touch (20

Hi everybody, I bought my Creative ZEN (20Gb) Touch in October.
For the first month it worked very well, and I was glad I bought it instead of an iPod (I've never liked them).
Anyway three weeks ago the display froze on a playlist while I was listening to it (none of the buttons worked), so I let the battery run down and after a couple of days it recovered and restart working.
This happened to me again last week, so I let the battery run down and, after charging it, it worked.
On friday I connected it to the usb cable, so I could use NOMAD Explorer. When I connected it (the first time) it was turned off but it turned on. I turned it off, anyway. After connecting it, the Nomad Explorer didn't work as if I haven't connected the Zen Touch to the cable. So I tried a couple of times to connect and disconnect the cable from the Zen Touch, and after that the on/off button was illuminated like it was on charge or connected to the cable - but it wasn't flashing, it was just a permanent light.
So I decided to use the same method I used the first two times I had some problems - but the battery didn't run down! Or maybe it did, but the light is still there, and my mp3 doesn't work. Now it's been four days, and this is the third time I had a problem with my mp3 player - I've been owning it just for three months! What should I do for make it start working?
How can I reset it's And if I do, am I going to lose any of my files?

if it crashes theres a small hole on the same side as the volume put a pin in you should feel a click if done correctly. it should then start up. as for your nomad explorer problem you should still be able to access your player from "my computer" there should be your dri'ves, nomad explorer and creative zen touch try getting to it through "creative zen touch. if none of that works maybe try removing all the software and install it all again. maybe update there firmware. oh if you have firmware version 2 nomad wont work. i miss it too. dont lose faith i've had mine for over a year now and had (and still am having) just about every problem. hope that helps Sm: )er

  • Creative Zen 8 gig - How do I play all videos at one time and skip to next vid

I was able to do this with the Creative Zen V plus 2 gig, why can't I with the large and more expensi've one?
    THanks,
    John

I have the same question as the original poster.
I am loading the zen with music video files only (wma) and would like to have the same playback options as mp3s.
I understand video file dont have "tags" like mp3s used to facilitate searcing for tracks eg. artist, album etc and i wonder if this could be a problem.
The question is...How do i get the player to play a list (or folder contents)) of video files either randomely or consecuti'vely without having to do it manualy for each and every video ie set up a playlist. Or is this not possible
    Thanks

  • 'Creative Mediasource Organizer' Folders and the ZEN V pla

Using the Creative Mediasource Organizer, I've set up a few Folders on the 'Creative Zen V' player but when I undock the player and use it to find and play the songs, they're not organized by the Folders. In fact, I don't the folder 'structure' at all. Is there a way I can see and use my folder structure I've set up for the player? and, if not, then why does the Organizer enable me to set up folders? Thanks.

Folders on the device are merely for your own convenience and organization. The device relies solely on ID TAGS on how it plays and displays the various tracks. You will need to get your tracks in order and edit the tags.
