Autosave only certain buddy chats

Hello all,
I've come seeking the answer to whether or not I can have iChat set to autosave only chats I have with certain buddies of mine. For example, I have a lot of useless "hey what's up? not much, you?" chats with friends, but then I have the chats with my girlfriend. I don't care about the "what's up" chats, but I find that the conversation that my girlfriend and I have are priceless and are really nice to look back on. Right now, I try to manually save all our chats, but every now and then my computer will freeze (thank you google earth) or like what happened last night, I thought I was in iCal but forgot that I had clicked on a chat window off to the side so instead was in iChat when I pressed  Q thus loosing all my chats, including the one with my GF. Finally, enough is enough, and I enabled autosave, but I know it's gonna save all those useless chats. Yes I could go through and just delete all the non-important ones, but that'll quickly add up to a lot. I'm fairly advanced with the Mac OS, so even if the solution requires terminal, I can do that.
Also, on a less important side note, does anyone know how to add the date in addition to the time within chat windows? I saw an article on this at LEAST one year ago, but was probably more like two. I remember that it required messing with date and time in system preferences and maybe a terminal thing, but I'd really like to have those as well.
I've tried to find both these answers by searching the forums, but to no avail. Any help, links, ect are much appreciated.

I would check your device is allowing response to Internet Pings
It is odd though that you ad your Buddy can chat to other people.
This may mean that you do not actually get to the Ping stage.
This seems likely as the attempts that are listed never get past the INVITE stage.
This would point to a Certain Buddy issue

Essentially this is a NAT issue.
NAT (Network Address Translation) is what makes a router get the incoming data stream to your computer.
Unfortunately the way it is done is different on nearly every device.
It is more of a global term rather than a set protocol )See item 5 in that Link)
As the first links shows UPnP can help get around this as it seems to be less reliant on NAT to get through the routing device.
The rip (remote IP) seems to be trying random ports to get success.

Pogogame only loading the chat but not the game and it is a firefox problem as desltop and pogo say pogo os working right

when I go into Pogo to play my games many when load only show the chat for that game but no game appears I contacted pogo they went in said loads all the game just fine when I load on my desk top it loads ok and also when use internet explorer it loads just fine so must be a firefox glitch this is on my laptop not desk top comp did not see anything to click was on laptop I even called Dell and they tried there best to fix it and ended up saying is firefox Please can you fix this do not want to deleetfor your help firefox and go back to internet explorer as love firefox but for this problem thanks

You need to start over with Music. On the iPhone Music screen uncheck sync music. Also, on the Summary screen uncheck "Manually manage music and videos", then sync and it should clear off your phone.
Next, choose the music you want to sync. If you want to fit more on check "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC". This will reduce quality slightly, but it won't be noticable unless you are using $300 headphones.

Open Posting Periods from only certain Vendors

I need my postings to happen only for only certain vendors , So I changed my setting in OB52 for "K" and gave the starting Vendor Acct # in Account From and Account to left it to be "ZZZZZZ" , But when I try to post a invoice for a Vendor out of this range I can still post and I shouldn't be having any posting here ..Am I missing anything here ?

The standard solution will apply only in case the reonciliation account you are giving in OB52 is the onle to be used for all the vendors which you want to block.
So the solution can work as below:-
(1) Define a separet reconciliation account for the vendors you want to block and assign that reconciliation account to those vendors.
(2) Then you can close/ open periods for those reconciliation account in OB52.
Otherwise you can use the validation concept in OB28/ GGB0 for achieving this. You can search SDN for the steps etc. on how to create the validation.

Only CERTAIN videos will not import in BOTH versions of iMovie

Heya, I'm dying here, hoping someone can help:
I've been filming video with my camera, but for some reason, one out of every 6 or 7 times a file will absolutely not import into iMovie.
They play absolutely fine with audio and everything in Quicktime, but when I try to import to iMovie '08, they simply do not show up as thumbnails even though it goes through the whole "creating thumbnails" process.
When I try importing them into iMovie HD 6, I get a "file cannot be imported: unknown error" message.
Everything else I film with my camera and import into either version of iMovie works just fine! It's only certain ones... but it always happens to be the most important clips!
There's GOT to be some way to fix this, right?

Your argument here is "inductive" and does not confirm that all stored files are in fact in the same compression format and settings. You need to apply a "deductive" approach. As I implied and QT Kirk specifically stated, you need to actually examine the files to determine their internal specifications -- comparing the working with non-working files to look for differences.
I've tried Streamclip, but when I try to save it as an avi, mpeg, dv, or even a renamed mov file, it says "Error: Could not prepare clip"
If your are trying to use the "Save As..." option here, you are not, in fact, performing a "conversion" but rather merely attempting to place the same content in a different file container. MPEG Streamclip does not, for instance, have the ability to export non-MPEG2 content to MPEG (MPEG-2 'muxed" or elementary streams) which would be incompatible with iMovie '08 in any event. As to AVI, you mush have one of the required AVI QT components installed and the compression formats you are trying to place in the AVI container must be compatible with the AVI container which is itself compatible with iMovie '08 as long as its contents are already edit compatible. As to DV, this one one usually difficult to mess up unless you were trying to turn it into a transport stream.

When your iphone is connected to iTunes, go to the phone section, go to options and then select "Sync only checked songs and videos". Then go to yotur iTunes music library, and check only the songs you want. If you are viewing the library in the "songs" option the check boxes are next to the songs. If you are viewing from the "album" view, you have to right-click each song and select check.

I just purchased Aperture and have 20,000 photos in my iPhoto Library. Can I import only certain events from iPhoto into Aperture or do I have to merge the whole iPhoto library?

I just purchased Aperture and have 20,000 + photos in my iPhoto Library. I see that I can create a unified library between the two. I am wondering if I can import only certain events from iPhoto (like only 2014 events) into Aperture or do I have to merge the whole iPhoto library? Are there any benefits to bringing the whole iPhoto library over to Aperture (iPhoto is SO SLOW for me, I wonder if it is because I have so many photos). Or, any detriment to only bring a few events over?
And, if I don't merge the two libraries, I assume that means I cannot do it at a later date?
Help. My local Apple store has had very few Aperture workshops, and the next one is like 2 months away.

What is your iPhoto version? Are you using the most recent version 9.5.1?
iPhoto can handle 20000 photos, no problem. Your computer can be slow for several reasons:
The most common problem for slowness - insufficient disk space. Don't let your free disk space drop below 20 GB of free space, better more. If the operating system does not have enough working space and the applications you are using, you will notice a very lagging behaviour.
Older or incompatible softweare can cripple your mac. Do you have any older third-party software installed, that might have installed incompatible kernel extensions?
Aperture might be slow or keep crashing, if you imported a corrupted image or incompatible video, that cannot be processed. Then Aperture will try over and over again to create previews and never succeed. You could test for this situation, by launching Aperture with the Shift-key held down. This will defer the generation of previews. If Aperture will launch and work better this way, you probably have some bad media in your photo library.
Another problem to check for is a corruption of your Aperture/iPhoto library. You have run the First Aid Tools to repair the iPhoto Library, but have you ever tried to rebuild the library? See this post by Old Toad: Rebuild iPhoto Version 11

Is there a way to have Firefox keep cookies from only certain sites?

I want to allow Firefox to retain cookies from only certain sites. Is there a way to do this? My understanding is that it is much riskier from a security standpoint to allow cookies to remain in the browser continually. So I have it set to remove them when Firefox closes. But there are a couple of sites I trust and it would make things a lot better if I could keep their cookies.

I'm not aware of such an add-on, but it might exist. There also might be a Greasemonkey userscript that will load the pages and fire the save.

The only known way to make it work on an external drive is by first installing Windows onto an internal drive, then cloning the install to an external Thunderbolt drive. Thunderbolt is seen as an extension of the internal bus, so Windows doesn't see it as an external device.

I ran into the same problem, I think that, If you tab on a song that is on your IPOD, and the song data is grayed-out, I think it means that the song is probably twice on your IPOD and that the iTunes directory can not edit THAT song data for two (or more) files @once. Check if this is the case, sinceI have the same problem,am looking for a way to have One and the same song in more playlists but only keep the song once on the IPOD.

Color only certain text in TextArea

Hello, I'm making an applet and I'm writing my output to a TextArea. I was wondering if it is possible to color only certain text. I.E. have some text in black and some in red.
I know you can color all text using foreground, but wasn't too sure if you could color certain text.
Any helps appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Refreshing only certain Region in APEX.

Hi Frenz,
I have a requirement like this. I want to refresh only certain region in the Page and not the full page.
Detailed Requirement: I have 2 region in Parent window.
I am entering a value in parent window in the First region. so the child window gets Populated.
I am entering some values in child window. so that those information has to get added into 2nd region of the Parent window. So i am refreshing the Parent window from the Child window. Now the information what i entered in the 1st region of the Parent window gets vanished. I want to retain that information also.
Any Suggestions....

Thanks for your reply.The region which i dont want to refresh is not made up of ITEMS. It is a SQL QUERY REGION from Dual.
More over i dont want to refresh the region Partially all the time.
In the Pop up window if i pressed one button it has to refresh partially.
If i press another buttom the Entire window has to get refreshed.

Share only certain properties across pages

Is it possible to share only certain properties of an object across other pages?
For example, I have a text heading on each my pages. It's in the same place and same color on every page. The actual text differs though on every page (e.g. one page says Home, another says About, etc.). Is it possible to share it the color and location across other pages, but not the actual text value?

You can "cheat" this by converting one of the text objects to a button symbol. Button symbols allow for different text labels for each instance. I do this all the time. Use this symbol on all your pages, and update the label in the Properties panel.
One trick though, make sure you ad an identical Over state to the button symbol, otherwise if you preview or export an HTML prototype, the text will disappear if you mouse over it.
