AutoSync in Library / Relative / Absolute ?

I have a question about AutoSync
In Library Mode I thought the the change applied
from the main selected image to the secondary select images
was Relative
IE  if I added +.3 exposure
that would be added on top of whatever was or wasn't done to the image previously
as opposed to Sync
which is Absolute
IE the settings from the select replace whatever was done previously
Has this been dropped ?
I found this useful, now and again, if I decided many images with differing settings
could all do with being a touch .. brighter, darker, warmer whatever
also
In Library Mode Grid view there is no option for autosync just Sync Metadata or Sync Settings
In library Mode Loupe there is a toggle switch Sync toggle to Auto Sync
but when I use either I just get the same metadata sync panel
I'm running LR 3.5 on a MacPro 3ghz 10GB ram
thanks in advance for any insights

Thanks,
Does that imply that you cannot use the more extensive
adjustments available in the Dev Module to batch adjust
images in a Relative rather than an Absolute way ?
I really want someone to tell me that I can ..and how
I'd love to be able to
and thought that I had been.

  • Could not find agent library in absolute path

    Hi,
I have a JVMTI agent which works on windows that I am trying to port to linux.
I have compiled to code on Ubuntu 10.04 using Eclipse and have created shared library .so file.
When I try to run an application with the agentpath argument, I get the error: "Could not find agent library in absolute path"
When trying to run the mtrace sample from the java JDK, it works fine.
    My Java version is:
    java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
I also tried running nm | grep Agent_OnLoad and got the following:
    00029220 T Agent_OnLoad
    00036230 b ZGVZ12AgentOnLoadE4data
    00030720 r ZZ12AgentOnLoadE19__PRETTY_FUNCTION__
    00036240 b ZZ12AgentOnLoadE4data
My agent references several libraries such as boost asio and log4cxx could it be related somehow to these?
I think it might be some sort of compilation issue because on windows it works fine.
    Thanks

I managed to solve my problem.
It turned out that the error was caused by missing referenced libraries that were not linked in to my so file.
Once I added all of the required libraries, the agent started working.

  • Relative/Absolute Dashboard Catalog Object References

Is there a way to make all catalog object references on a dashboard relative to the location of the dashboard in the catalog? It appears that when a dashboard and its related catalog objects are moved within the catalog that the references on the dashboard get lost as if they are absolute.
    Thanks!

"as if they are absolute"? They are absolute. Look at the XML and you'll see how dashbaords are actually built.

  • EPMA shared library relational representation

I want to use EPMA shared libraries to manually maintain certain dimensions for Planning, but also access that metadata to update other external environments requiring the same hierarchy information. I am running on SQL Server 2005. Hierarchies are managed nowhere else in the company and DRM is not a desired option.
I see HYP_HPLAN tables that contain numeric IDs for dimension members and a HYP_UNIQUE_NAMES table that appears to contain the mappings. Am I on the right track looking at these? How would you recommend going about extracting EPMA shared library hierarchy information into a meaningful table or tables for use elsewhere?
    Thanks for your ideas!

It is not more useful to create metadata first in relational if you want to leverage the user interface of EPMA libraries for the maintenance of manual dimensions. Given the business need for some manually maintained dimensions, I think it is much friendlier to have a key user add members, etc. in a hierarchial interface rather than populate a table (likely based on submission of a manually maintained spreadsheet). In my way of thinking, coming from "old school" Essbase, there is intuitive benefit in having hierarchy modeling tools (App Mgr, EAS). So my question still stands and is based on the desire do use EPMA as that tool in a Planning context.

  • Relative/absolute keyframes when trimming

    Hi,
I'm using some motion templates for titles in FCPX. Sometimes I just want to shorten the title in the timeline. By doing that the animation in the motion/titles template speed up. It does not seem to matter whether I use the trim or the blade tool.
Is there a way to keep absolute keyframes rather than relative one ?
Is there a setting in FCPX or Motion 5 to chose how the keyframes behave when the clip is being trimmed?
    Thanks for you feedback.
    /Max

To keep keyframes "absolute" for FCPX templates, you need to add a project marker, either Build In, Build Out (or both); or Project Loop End.
To add one of these markers: In Motion, click on the Layers List anywhere NOT on an object (deselect all layers). Move the playhead to the point in the project you want the animation to end and type 'M' to add the marker and command-option-m to pop up the dialog to set the type. (The "Optional" versions will provide a checkbox in FCPX that will allow the user to turn on or off the marker behavior.)
Build In will run the animation from the beginning to the marker and then "hold" if the clip has been lengthened or be truncated if shortened. (Build In markers are typically *past* the last keyframe)
Build Out will run the animation from the marker to the end of the project, "holding" at the beginning if the clip is lengthened and truncating (from the front end) if shortened. (Build Out is typically just before the first keyframe - or the beginning of the project)
You can use Build In and Build Out together, the space (or time) in between the two markers will be "expandable" or expendible (on resizing the clip).
Project Loop End will run the animation, truncating if shortened and looping if lengthened. (Project Loop should always be the best "looping point" in a project -- everything past this marker is **ignored** in FCPX, which is a rather important distinction. Project Loop will not have a specific effect while playing the project in Motion)

  • How to delete all books from the iTunes library which no longer exist on my iPod?

I was looking through my iTunes libraries today, and I realised that my "books" library was absolutely chock full of old books that I had previously downloaded and deleted years ago, as well as all the books I still currently own/use.
How can I delete (within iTunes) all of the books that are no longer on my iPod, without going through them all one by one?
I know for apps you can just delete them all in iTunes and then choose "import purchases" to perfectly replicate apps between the iPod and iTunes, but I don't think you can do that with books.

After cleaning the library you can connect the device and use the transfer purchases option to copy over those still on the iPod.
I should add that it is probably a good idea to use Edit > Preferences > Devices and tick Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically.

  • Adding a Library with JDeveloper 10.1.3

Several of my JDeveloper 10.1.3 applications use outside libraries such as Javamail. No problem with that - I just open Project Properties and add the library. Works great.
The problem comes when either I install a new version of JDeveloper, like when I upgraded from 10.1.3.4 to 10.1.3.5, or when another developer checks out the application from source control to work on the project. As far as I can see, the project is pointing at a ".library" file that is in the depths of the /jdev/system subdirectory of my JDeveloper home directory. The .library file doesn't get moved when I migrate settings from an older version of JDeveloper to an newer one, so the project is still pointing at my old home directory. So if I clean up old versions of JDeveloper, I wind up having to add the library again.
It's even worse when another developer opens the project - that developer doesn't even have the .library file. So of course, he has to add the library manually. And the library file locations are relative, so heaven help me if the library is in a different relative place on my computer than it is on the other developer's. He changes the properties, deletes the pointer to the library that I added, re-adds the library relative to his own JDev home, and does his changes and testing. Then I come along and what worked for me yesterday doesn't work anymore until I change it back.
Is there a way to escape from library hell? Is this fixed in JDeveloper 11g?
Edited by: jflack on Jan 29, 2010 8:38 AM

    Thanks, Dai.
    So, to summarize:
    <ol>
<li>I'll define my libraries at the project level, which will store the definitions in the .jpr file, not in .library files in the JDeveloper home directory. That will make sure that I won't have to re-define libraries when I change JDeveloper versions.</li>
<li>I'll copy libraries used by a project into a library directory within the project. Even though it may mean duplicate copies of libraries in various places, at least it will mean that any working directory containing the project will also have a copy of the library in the place the project expects it to be.</li>
<li>I'll see what I can do to speed along our upgrade to JDeveloper 11g. When we switch to 11g, we should be able to point at a shared network resource with a fixed location for libraries.</li>
    </ol>
And finally, I need to enter a few enhancement requests:
    <ol>
<li>JDeveloper should not store preferences and other user files like .library files under the JDeveloper home directory. SQL Developer has been storing this stuff under the user's home directory (Documents and Settings\username in Windows XP, /home/username in Linux) for several years now, why not JDeveloper?</li>
<li>The one major thing keeping us on JDeveloper 10g is that 11g doesn't support deployment to OC4J. Our production application servers run OAS 10.1.3, and we don't have time to learn how to run WebLogic. Tomcat might be acceptable, since at least it runs under Apache like OC4J, but I'm seeing conflicting information about certification of deployment on Tomcat.</li>
    </ol>

  • Exceptions not caught in shared library when compiled under Sun Studio 9

I realize it's a fairly old version of Sun Studio, however if at all possibly we'd like to avoid updating to the latest.
    Sun Studio 9, version reports

The problem is within our shared library a function calls another method within a try/catch block. This method then sometimes throws an exception which does have a matching catch block. On all other systems (Windows, AIX, HP-UX, Linux) the code works, the exception is caught and handled. On Solaris with Sun Studio 9 though, the exception is ignored and instead triggers an abort and core dump.

The code which throws the exception is a static method of IGException which has a basic throw line:
         throw IGException(...);
Source code is compiled with the following flags, none of which I could find any info to suggest affect this:
    CC -c -Xt -xCC -misalign -xarch=v9 -O
Linking of the shared object is then done via the following, again nothing obvious that could cause issues. mapfile is an empty file.
    ld -o <outputfilename> -G -z textoff -M mapfile -z noversion -64 -h <outputfilename> <object files> -L/opt/SUNWspro/lib/v9 -lCrun -lX11 -lc -lm
I did read somewhere mentioning to make sure to use RTLD_GLOBAL if using dlopen on the .so, but the test app is using ld to link the library.
Does anyone have any ideas why with the Sun Studio 9 compiler these exceptions are not being caught? Based on the fact they are caught on all other compilers, i'm guessing this issue is with the compiler.
Also, as a test it seems that if the shared object is not built as a 64-bit object, then everything works. The issue only seems to occur when it is a 64-bit object. Likely an issue with the 64-bit compiling?

As the other poster pointed out, you need to link the shared library using CC, not ld. I should have noticed that error in the original post.
Try using CC instead of ld in your link command. The CC command causes additional files to be linked into the shared library that are required for proper operation, and particularly for exception handling. I think that is the actual source of your problem.
You should not use -L options that point into the compiler installation area, and when you use CC to link, you don't need to.
I'm surprised that you seem to have a copy of libCrun.so.1 in the compiler installation area -- that should not be the case. The the only versions of libCrun should be static libraries libCrun.a. You almost never want to link with a static version of a system library, and absolutely never when building a shared library. The file /opt/SUNWspro/lib/libCrun.so.1 ought to be a symbolic link pointing to /usr/lib/libCrun.so.1, but if that were the case, the version command would have the same output.
By any chance, did you install your compiler by copying it from another installation? If you do that, you need to use tar, not cp, to ensure that symbolic links are preserved.

  • Search clips removed from the library

    Hello!
Faced with such a problem in iMovie: made a movie, left him in the draft program. Then, after a time, to sync my iPhone with iTunes deleting the album with the songs, which were used in the project iMovie.
Now I can not import my project as window provides that "the project contains clips deleted from library " smartphone. I returned to this album again when synchronizing, but iMovie does not recognize the songs. In the old version of iMovie has been a possibility in such a situation to find these files on the iPhone if they were moved . The new version of this possibility, unfortunately, no or I do not see how to use this option.
Help resume the project, a lot of time and effort has been spent on it, do not want to start all over again .
    Thanks for the help!
P.S. I apologize for my English, do not know much of it.

    I have a new problem.
I redid all the songs again in my project, did everything as it was, but exports still not available. Wrote that "Export is not possible. This project contains clips deleted from your library", but absolutely all audio tracks, I replaced the existing library. There are no more icons with error (exclamation mark in a yellow triangle) in the project.
What do I do? When playing back a project, all good, all the video and audio то бе played, but does not want to export

  • Lightroom Library Accessible across network?

Is there a way to have the library and all edits, etc. available to multiple users on a network? I work with four other photographers and a couple of art directors who all have access to a single server loaded up with tetrabytes of images sorted by assignments in respective folders. We've been using ACR and Bridge to view, assign metadata, and edit, duplicating RAW files for multiple processing interpretations, etc. I'm interested in seeing if Lightroom will help with our workflow, but a centralized library is absolutely necessary to start. Thanks for any help.

    >As I understand it, the library itself won't be accessible on the network in v1.
johnbeardy, "Lightroom Library Accessible across network?" #1, 31 Jan 2007 7:24 am
That's what I heard as well. It's a shame as with the advent of cheap NAS storage, it is very common for photographers to have all their data on the network and only the applications on the computer.
I don't have a need for multiple users of the same library, but I do need to keep the library on NAS storage. That should be a simple fix for Adobe to implement. It's also an important fix as there have been several instances of people on the labs forums finding that they could not install Lightroom as they had redirected their "My Documents" directory (on Windows) onto a network mount.
Full multi-user support is more complex and probably does require a database transplant to something with a more advanced locking concept than SQLite.

  • Very slow library function after upgrading to lr3.4

I "upgraded" to LR3.4 and since then the Library function absolutely crawls along.  I have a quad core desktop with gobs of memory.  it flew through library, import, and developing before.  Only change was downloading and installing what I thought was a minor update for raw file updates.  Ideas?

yeah 10.4.10 is not playing nice. I've searched thoughout the forum and even called apple support and there is no clear solution. Apple basically told me to go back to 10.4.9... good thing I spent the extra $$ on applecare..huh

  • My library wont transfer to my new nano

why won't my library sync to my new nano?

If you want the iPod to sync automatically, you may need to set up syncing for the iPod in iTunes.
If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES, when connected.  Select the iPod there.  To the rignt, its Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons that starts with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box to Sync Music.  If your iTunes music library fits on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, make your selections from the lists below.  For example, if you want to sync one or more existing playlist in your iTunes library you can select them.  You can create new playlists with only the songs you want on the iPod, and select them.  You can select specific artists or albums...
When you click Apply, the songs in yoru selection(s) sync to the iPod.  Going forward, any changes to your iTunes library (related the settings on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes) sync to the iPod automatically.  For example, if you have playlists selected to sync to the iPod, you can update those playlists (add/remove songs) in your iTunes library.  The next time you connect the iPod (or when you click Sync if already connected), iTunes makes the same changes to the iPod automatically.

(b stares aghast at the claim coming from someone who has 5.0.1.4 installed ... has to go off an have a quick cigarette to stop his hands shaking in response to the flood of memories)
... you can't possibly have been in here much during the 5.0.x days. 6.0.4.2 is an absolute dream by comparison with 5.0.1.4 (which was a dream by comparison with 5.0.0.35), based on relative number of problem reports we get in here.
but if you're happy with 5.0.1.4, let's try to see if we can get it working better for you.
if you've got a large library file, and it's a bit fragmented, that can slow down response when doing library-related activities. so first perhaps try a disk defrag.
but if there's no joy with that, and you've got third-party add-ons, let's check through those to see if there's some trouble there:
