Autosync - Sync Detection Problem with Video/Audio from different sources

Hi,
i've got the following problem:
I'm editing a feature film, where video comes from tape and audio from harddisc-recorder. The clips are combined/linked manually via in-point (slate).
If I cut this video/audio combined clip in the timeline, and move only the audio 3 frames to the right, sync detection informs me correct about the out of sync problem (3 frames). BUT: If I split the audio file in two pieces, the left clip still has the "out of sync" info in the timeline and remains "linked" to the video, but the right clip doesn't show his relation to the video anymore !!!
Is this a bug ?
Because, if I use video and audio from one "media-source", ex dv, the sync detection in the timeline is working correct with the above example ?
I'm lookin' for a similar way to sync clips like autosync with media-composer and thought combine audio and video clip to a new combined clip should do this....

I have my waveforms back! Thank you SO MUCH! I looked everywhere and just couldn't find a setting for this.
As for the sync, I guess that's OK - it's no worse than what I had before (and with the waveforms back, less of an issue to do manually). Would be nice if they'd add the ability to offset the audio track in the Modify Clip screen at some point (and it would open up the multi-cam sync feature to more users), but I can cope without for now.

ITunes has detected problems with your audio configuration

Hi there!
I recently had to reformat my PC after problems with Windows 8.1, 64 bit version.
I have just reinstalled iTunes and now I am getting an error: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio / Video playback may not operate properly."
I looked at other posts concerning this issue. In the most recent post, the poster was able to resolve the issue himself, but wasn't sure how he did it, and the older posts were archived and I could not access them.
Didn't have this issue prior to the re-formatting and reinstallation, so not clear what to do.
Please assist.

P.S. I am able to hear sound out of my speakers, so I don't think it's a problem with the speakers or the sound card.

i really have no idea how this error occured. Coz i didnt do anything with the audio configuration.
I worked well before i updated the iTunes.

Your video playback will also depend on your net speed. If you have slow internet, you will stream video slow. If your video stops and starts, you can try pausing it for a minute or so and then try to watch. Let more of it buffer before you try to watch.
Sometimes your connection is so slow you literally play faster than it buffers, which means it stops and stutters continually

I have recently bought a pair of beats studio wireless headphones but when using my ipad there are sync issues with video and audio. Many apps have the problem but sky go seems to be the worst followed by YouTube. Apple video is not too bad but not perfect.

Problems with Airplay audio from Ipad to Apple Tv 2

Hi
I recently bought an apple tv 2 mainly to use it to airplay content from my ipad. Video streams perfectly the problem is with audio, every single time I play any song it stops playing for a second or 10 quite often. I cant play a single song without getting this annoying silents. I thought it might be a problem with my Wifi although the router is pretty close to the ipad so I changed routers but still the same problem also Video streams great, Ive seen complete 2 hour movies with no problems at all. I got an update to the apple tv 2 today and thought that might solve the problem but it didnt.
¿Does anyone else have this problem?
¿Does anyone know what it might be?

Fixed this.
I started fooling around with the Wifi and noticed that as soon as the signal was down to one or two bars the video also had problems when streaming and also had problems streaming from my Macbook. Thats when I realized the problem was not iOS dependant. So I went to a shop bought two nice and shiny N-Wireless routers connected one upstairs where my internet connection is and setup the second one as a repeater bridge downstairs 5mts away from the apple TV so that it gets full signal. Dont have any problems with Audio nor Video since.

After Mavericks upgrade problems with video playback from iPhoto11

Since the upgrade to Mavericks my MBP (13” 2.4GHz 8GB medio 2010) is playing videos opened in iPhoto in poor quality and they are breaking up.
I tried to update to Quicktime 7 (versie 7.6.6 (1709)) and then if I try to "open with" Quicktime 7 from the file which I copied to a different location(desktop) and this is showing fine.
In iPhoto the .mov files are apparently still openend with the old quicktime version (10.3(727.1))
Also I upgraded to iPhoto 11 but still the same problem and tried to do a system check via starting up in safe mode but no go.
Does anybody have an idea?

You might try the following:
1 - select a video file in the Finder and bring up its Info window (type Commnad + i).
2 - go to the Open With menu and select Quicktime Player 7.6.6.
3 - click on the Change All button.
4 - reboot, relaunch iPhoto and try again.

Hi..I have a Nokia N85..best phone now outhere but i have only one problem!
when a transfer a video(e.g heroes) to my n85...and then i go watch it with my headset plugged in..the audio is terrible!!! i dont understand that..i have this problem with all the videos i transfer to the phone..anyone having this same problem?where can i report this problem to nokia so they can fix it with the next firmware update?

Yes..i converted my videos with pc suite(to the mp4 format)! but now i installed divx on my n85 and converted them to divx and the divx player play them like a charm(quality sound)..so now i have to convert all my downloaded series/movies to divx format and play them with the divx player..because the realplayer wont play them properly when i convert them(mp4)/transfer them to my N85!

Issues with video/audio playback and Source window

I have some video that I am trying to import to get into my sequence. Anytime I open the video into my source window (or drag it to the timeline), the audio goes crazy. It starts skipping around and jumbling itself. When I open the video file in Quicktime on my computer, it opens and plays fine. Also, I don't know if it is unrelated, but sometimes when I open a video in my Source window, there is no audio. I can drag it to the Sequence and double click on it to bring the Sequence video into the Source window and it plays fine.
The video that I am having issues with is a .mov filmed from an iPad (not sure which iPad model). It is filmed in Portrait mode, not sure if that matters. Please let me know what other information might be needed to troubleshoot this issue.

Ooh. Sorry about that.
- I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 v.6.0.3
- I'm sure I have the latest update. I'm using Creative Cloud, and the Adobe Application Update Manager says everything is up to date.
- Operating System is Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1)
- Source footage is a .mov filmed in portrait mode (I didn't record it.. Haha) on an iPad, not sure the model.
- I am getting no error messages.
- I was just dragging the video file from the Media Browser to the Source window. Nothing special.
- This is working on all of the other clips filmed from the same iPad at same resolution, etc. Also, this particular video plays perfectly in Quicktime. It's just when I try to play it in Premiere Pro.
- Other software that is currently running is standard stuff: antivirus, Outlook, Gtalk, Dropbox. Nothing that uses audio.
- I have installed K-Lite Codec pack when I got the computer.
- I have a Dell Preision T7600, Dual Xeon Quad-core processors (2.00GHz), 16 GBs of ram, Nvidia Quadro 4000 (2GB), and running off of a 256GB SSD.
- I am using the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration.
- The issue is happening on playback, both in the Source window and the Program window when I drag the video to the Sequence. It plays fine in Quicktime.

Audio sync problem with videos imported from iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I used to shoot video at a family birthday party. When I imported the footage into iMovie '11, the audio is not in sync with the video (video is about two seconds behind audio) and there is only the left channel of audio. I verified that the video on the iPod plays just fine--no audio sync problem, both left and right channels work. I just upgraded to iOS 5 on the iPod Touch. The iMac is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
As a workaround, I can import the video into iPhoto instead. When I play the video in iPhoto, there are no audio sync problems and both channels of audio can be heard. I have imported other iPod Touch videos successfully into iMovie '11 in the past few months, but this has been the first time these problems have occurred. Any help would be appreciated.

Premiere cannot handle clips with variable framerate.
Your converted clips need to have constant framerate.
Otherwise use a converter like Handbrake.

My brothers iPod is not working properly. From what he told me, he left it in his car overnight and it would not turn on or anything. So he gave it to me to send into Apple.
I havent done it yet, because I think this is a problem that can be resolved.
I plugged it into my computer and it charged just fine, it turned on. I could play all his music and it seemed perfect.
Then I checked his videos, and when I clicked one it would freeze the iPod, then finally, when the iPod got unfrozen, the audio played only.
I've checked the video output tv thing and it is set to off.
I asked someone at Futureshop and she said they weren't organized properly, so I need to download a program from the iTunes website. Only, I can't find the program.
These videos used to work perfectly fine, the problem is only recent.

Problem : Recording video & audio from webcam

Hi all
I want to record myself to see the expression on my face on average through the USB webcam .
I use mencoder for recording from USB webcam .
mencoder tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:device=/dev/video0:forceaudio:adevice=/dev/dsp -ovc lavc -oac mp3lame -lameopts cbr:br=64:mode=3 -fps 16.2 -o test16.2.avi
The problem is that the audio is not synchronized with the video
what can i do ? help!

Problem with video/audio chat

i installed a logictech pro 9000 webcam to my mini last night, and it was recognized by the computer and seemed to be working, (i was clearly visible on the monitor). however when a friend attempted to accept my invitations to video and audio chats, we both saw an error message that said he "dropped the connection" (or something like that). the same thing happened when i attempted to accept his invites. we tried a few times with no success and the same error message. text chatting was working fine, and we both use AIM.
i have the mini hardwired to a cable modem, and we do have a wireless router running for laptops.
any ideas out there?

What have you checked ?
Mac Firewall ?
Router ?
Logging on to your Mac with another Mac User ?
Does the Mac User Account you normally use have Parental Controls turned On ?

Problem with videos purchased from music store! =/

i bought 3 music videos from the music store and noticed that the files were .m4v format. i had to reformat my computer recently but i saved the videos to a cd-r data disc. after reinstalling everything and trying to put the files onto my ipod, i get that pop up that says "some videos cannot be transfered to ipod" ..someone help!

Try playing those video files in iTunes first.
You probably have to re-authorize your computer before they can be transferred to the iPod.

Problem seeing video/audio from thumbnails

Hello,
I have an old iMovie '08 (7.1.4) with clips showing in the thumbnail section, but am unable to view/hear those clips in the preview section. There is a small yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it in the lower left of the thumbnail. Can anyone tell me what that means, and what I need to to do actually be able to see/use the clips? Thank you for any help.
(oh, and I don't dare update the iMovie software again for fear of a) losing what video I have and b) being thoroughly confused for another three years!)

There is a small yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it in the lower left of the thumbnail.
This means that iMovie can not locate the original raw material - most often due to that
folders named
• iMovie Projects - or -
• iMovie Events
been moved.
One must not move or alter anything in them !
Moving movie material - HAS TO BE DONE - Within iMovie application in Events window
(iM'08 only events can be moved) (in iM'09 or 11 projects too can be moved out to external
hard disks)
Try to move everything back to where it was and then do the move in the right way.
External Hard Disks !
• HAS to be - Mac OS Extended formatted (nothing else works for VIDEO)
• Should be a FireWire one - as USB/USB2 performs badly and slow
