Any audio cable with a 3.5mm stereo("mini")plug on each end will do the job, assuming that the BMW audio system has a 3.5mm input...

  • No Audio imput

How do I connect my electric guitar to my iMac md093ll//a 21.5 in. without an audio imput?

    Hi, maybe an iMic?

  • Are there any additional audio imput controls other than settings ?

I am having issues with an USB microphone, and unless I turn the settings (in audio imput ) all the way down to about 2%, I get distortion from the mic being too sensitive ( and have to place it several feet away from the source)
Are there any other controls I can use to reduce the volume IN, in addition to the slide adjustment in the Sound Imput box ? is there a Gain adjustment ?
    thanks

Depending on the device, you probably are not going to see any input gain control options in either System Prefs > Sound or Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. There might be some app that comes with the USB mic that will have some additional options, but I have not had much luck with these apps from the audio device manufacturers, nor with the drivers that come with them. If you are using the USB mic for input for a recording app like Logic, then there are gain controls there.
It's way easier to just use an audio output mic and a USB interface or mixer, which is why the vast majority of professional sound recording people don't use USB microphones.
I use a pretty cheap (less than 100 bucks) interface, which actually has a gain knob right on it.

  • Audio Update 2007-001 and mac Mini - boot hangs up

I downloaded the Audio Update 2007-001 this afternoon, and I've had problems with my mac Mini ever since. I thought it took a long time to boot from the gray Apple screen, longer than would seem to be warranted with a 1 MB update. Then I got the blue screen and another spinning wheel. I did hear the audio port turn on, but I never got past the spinning wheel (not a pinwheel), so I powered down. That was a mistake.
Fortunately, I could start up in safe mode. When I did, I saw that there was no audio device recognized at all. I restarted in normal mode and got the same problem as before: blue screen, spinning wheel. I'm going to let it sit there, but for how long?
    Any advice?
mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I solved my own problem. After restarting in Safe Mode again, I downloaded the standalone version of the audio update, installed that, and restarted. No problems booting up.

  • Can't install Audio Update 2007-001

I held off on installing the 10.4.10 update until recently.
After installing Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update v1.1 (I installed the Intel Combo update), I am unable to install the Audio Update. The Select a Destination step says, "You cannot install Audio Update 2007-001 on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." Trying to install onto the Macintosh HD, by the way.
Could it be that ver. 1.1 of the 10.4.10 update already includes the Audio update? The Apple site lists the Audio Update above the 10.410 v. 1.1 update, which implies that it's more recent.
    I'd appreciate any info.

OS 10.4.10 v1.1 does contain the Audio update see

  • IPod Classic (160GB) + 2007 BMW X5

I have a 160GB iPod Classic with firmware version 1.1.1 Mac that I'm connecting to a 2007 BMW X5 through the iPod interface.
It appears the unit is connecting fine. I can access all sections of the iPod EXCEPT for my playlists. Does anyone know why and how to fix this?

This is the iPod connection that is in your center console? And you have the cable with a dock connector at one end and a USB and miniplug on the other?

A black airplay info window floats around on my HDTV screen when sending audio content via airplay up to sound system w Apple TV.  How can I get rid of this?

Had this happen to me after a recent update, was super annoying.  To turn off, go to Settings > AirPlay > Conference Room Display > Off.

iPod nano 6gen does not send audio to home stereo when using an older (iPod classic) dock.  Is this a functional discount or something else?  [This system has worked with iPod Classic and Nano 4 gen.]

Perform the instructions for your version of Mac OS X on this page.

  • Bluetooth music connectivity with Nissan Connect Navi system

I can connect my iphone 5 by bluetooth for phone use, but it wont connect and allow music by bluetooth.
Nissan say Apple wont allow data transfer on the navi system, and i must connect using the USB connection.
Both Nissan and Apple tech support info advises that there is OK bluetooth compatability profiles A2DP and AVRCP.
Going around in circles, any one got suggestions?

Goodbrand, were you able to resolve your issue.
I found the following, very interesting situation. If I connect any iPod via USB to the Qashqai AND connect the iPhone via Bluetooth (that's right, I am talking of two separate devices), the iPod will not resume playing once a call arrived on the iPhone.
    Kind regards

  • I have interface M Audio firewire 400 new Mac Pro has firewire 800 Do you think an adaptor will provide the same quality? Will the M audio 400 work with lion and new system? Thanks so much

I have interface M Audio  400 with 400 firewire new Mac Pro has firewire 800 Do you think an adaptor will provide the same quality? Will the M audio 400 work with lion and new system or do I need new software? Thanks so much

If you have a little Firewire adaptor, everything should work fine. It does on my system.

  • Any cheaper solution for audio on 2007 MacBook Pro to TV?

I see this adapter may finally give me the ability to merge my audio with my DVI and connect to my HDMI based TV:
    http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=3570
Is there anything cheaper that can do that. I know only the late 2009 iMacs and 2010 Macs can connect display ports to HDMI and have audio straight to TV.
I was hoping there might be a way to do this with my DVI on my 2007 Santa Rosa MacBook Pro.
    I have a Sony 42" Bravia XBR9.

Have you checked Radio Shack? The staff are pretty knowledgeable about what you need to connect MBPs to TVs. Their cables are way less than $300.

  • Problems with auxiliary audio after iOS6

I have a weird issue that doesn't seem to be addressed on any other threads. Hopefully someone can help.
My wife had a 3GS and she listened to music (mostly Spotify) through her car stereo via an auxiliary cable. This worked fine until she updated the phone to iOS6 late last year, at which point music would no longer play through the car's left speaker, only the right.
The problem wasn't with the car or the cable, because I have a 4S, also updated to iOS6, which played (and still plays) just fine through both speakers using the same auxiliary cable.
What makes it stranger is that I got my wife an iPhone 5 for Christmas. She still has the same issue that she had with the 3GS - no sound through the left speaker of the car. But plug in my 4S, and everything works just fine.
I'm lost. Any ideas out there or similar problems?

    Possible solution here...
I have an aggregate of two interfaces with 16 channels. I can address now all inputs an outputs, but the slave interface doesn't meter anything and i don't hear anyting on the outputs routed to the slave interface. Also some debug output is printk'ed:
    AM824NuDCLRead::Start() failed: 0xe0008020
Finally, after a night long research, it is working as proposed.
    My setup now en detail:
    Mac Book Pro 2,4Ghz/3GB RAM/OSX 10.5.4
    2 lynx aurora 8 / LTFW
    1 Lynx / Internal Clock
2 Lynx /External Clock (via 75 ohm cable)
Uplink of the devices with a gold fw cable.
Link to the 1394a port via gold cable to the mac book.
I use an aggrgate of two devices 16/IN 16/OUT.
    Problem was:
No sound on the slave Interface.
    Problems that i found out:
Never run pppd via WLAN in the background.
A crosseffect letting the Systems Panel die and the devices are not accessbible.
After turning off wlan (dectivate) the interfaces are accessible again.
    A weird crosseffect i mean.
Problem in the Audio-Midi Setup -> aggregate device:
BE SURE TO SELECT THE MASTER INTERFACE AT FIRST, OTHERWISE THE PLIST FILE IS WRONG, SINCE THE CLOCK HAS ALSWAYS ID 0 IN THE PLIST FILE.
IF SELECTING THE SLAVE FIRST  AND THEN SELECT THE MASTER CLOCK, THE PLIST FILE IS WRONG. CAUSE THE MASTER CLOCK IS THE SLAVE AND HAS ID 1 , WHICH IS ACTUALLY WRONG.
Hidden File with aggr. config: /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
To view copy the file in your home dir in the console like: cp  /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist ~/test.plist.
Open the property list editor and select Your home directory.
    View the properties.
SO, SELECT THE FIRST DEVICE AS MASTER CLOCK AND THEN THE RIGHT INTERFACE HAS ID 0. THEN SELECT THE SECOND ONE.
NO TROUBLES IN THE KERNEL ANYMORE. NO ATCP TIMEOUTS:-))
This solutions works for me now.

  • Audio imput on Mac Mini?

I bought Kittendaddy a special adapter that he can use to plug his electric guitar into his computer. Since his iMac died and he's inherited his son's Mac Mini, we're not sure what to do with this because there doesn't seem to be an audio in or microphone jack that we can plug it into. He wants to use the guitar in GarageBand.
    Any ides/suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Kittenmommy-
How does the adapter interface to the Mac? What is the brand and model of the adapter?
