Auxiliary Input option for Factory CD player ster

I initially bought an FM transmitter to use my micro zen in my car but the quality (and drop outs) were unbearable in the city... so I just received my order for one of these today and installed it in my 2004 Scion xA in about 45 minutes:
<img src = "http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/2004/58/l58DFTOY-f-.jpeg">
It didn't cost much more than a good FM transmitter and it's not as flexible (can't easily move it from car to car, DUH!) but the sound is AMAZING! I just figured I would pass on a good experience from adding an auxiliary input option and where you can pick one up for your car.
My factory stereo only came with a CD player so the tape apapter option obviously wasn't one that I had. I highly recommend <a href = "http://www.crutchfield.com/]crutchfield because there customer service was phenomenal, I received my order in ONE day, and it came with detailed instructions (with pictures) on how to remove my factory stereo to install it!

oooo
ps.
i meant to include a direct link to the one i bought (specifically for my car). <a href = "http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7CYOw52LiNp/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=82500&I=58DFTOY]here it is.
there's a connector on the back (not shown in the picture). it's like an 8-pin connector that you hook up to the back of your factory stereo. in my case, it get's hooked up to the satellite receiver control connector. the 4 inputs on the front (pictured) are the two new audio input channels that you have now "created" on your stereo. i bought a stereo mini to dual rca cable adapter (y splitter). the mini part plugs into you headphone jack and you connect the left and right channels to the box.
when my stereo powers on, i just push the CD button again and i get what looks like CD changer control options. power up the zen micro (push play) and there you go. i pump the volume up to about 20 on the zen micro and control the rest of the audio with my stereo. it's sounds great! now, i can get rid of all the burned backup copies of my CDs that i keep in my car to listen to.

• Sound input options for quicksilver 933 (2002) question.

My little plaintalk microphone does not fit into the audio input of my G4. According to the Specs. for this 'Puter there is no line in provided. I was looking at a Behringer UCA202 USB adaptor, which looks like it may work. I would need to get a splitter for the mike to use the two RCA inputs of the Behringer. - (I guess it's stereo...) The PCI audio cards that I've seen are a little overkill for what I'm after, and much more expensive. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!!
Tom

I posted a similar question recently. Somebody recommended a M-Audio card to me but as you are finding they are a bit pricey. I think the bottom line is you get what you pay for. I have seen everything from the thousand dollar PCI cards, to a $2 USB converter thing that looks like a flash drive and takes the 3.5 mm plugs for standard computer headphone and microphones. I am tending towards a less expensive device because I have ancient audio tapes with poor quality, though my respondent pointed out that if you take a poor sound source and record it through a low quality converter then you end up with even more garbage.
There's also a similar thing to the Behringer that is made by Griffin (iMic) at the same price. I don't know how they compare in terms of audio quality, but the iMic uses 3.5 mm jacks which would save you the cost of a converter. In my case I want something to attach to my home stereo so I'm glad you pointed out the Behringer.

• Creative Labs Inspire 5.1 P5800 auxiliary input

Hi,
I am interested in purchasing the P5800, I have read that it has a 3.5mm auxiliary input suitable for mp3 players etc.
I will be often using this system with an mp3 player and a single output from my laptop. My question is very simple, if I input sound into the auxiliary input, will it play in all the speakers, or just act as a 2.1 system? Quite simply, I would like my music playing in all the speakers
Many thanks in advance for your help,
S Pearce

S Pearce,
If you're connecting through the aux input, you will only be getting stereo output and that's only through the front speaker not all the speaker. You can check out another speaker system (if it's available within your region) and that's the I-Trigue 5600. This speaker system have a CMSS upmix feature which enable you to have 5. surround effect from stereo devices which fit what you wanted.

• Multiple select options for an input field

Hi All,
We have a requirement where in we need to provide multiple select options for an input field in a BSP application and get output relevant to all the given inputs(do not require range).
Please do let me know how to solve this.
Thanks & Regards,
Lavanya .

Hi,
The requirement is : Suppose there is a input field PLANT.
If we give input for plant it gives related output.
Now if it is required to give 5 or 6 inputs..like plant1,plant2...plant6 and get the output related to all 6 inputs.
(Like we implement in ABAP)
Please do let me know how can this be implemented in BSP.
Thanks & Regards,
Lavanya.

Pavillion dv6 has an input connector for mic or other input devices next to headphones connector on left side, to connect a LP player or other device thru the mic connector, what kind of cable is required? I used an RCA to male cord but no input on the notebook. And how to make it record from that mic input connector? Any settings need to be changed in Win7 to make it work? Thanks in advance.

Connect the RF (Coax) output of the STB to the Coax-in on the modulator
Connect the Coax-out on the modulator to the TV
Connect the Video-out and Audio-out RCA jacks on the DVD/VCR to the Video-in and Audio-in on the modulator.
The STB signal will flow thru the modulator and allow you to watch TV as normal.
When you turn the DVD/VCR on, the modulator will sense the signal coming from the device and override the signal and inject it onto the coax (converting it to RF first) so that it shows up on the TV instead of the STB output.   When you're done and turn the DVD/VCR off, the signal from the STB will automatically return to the TV.

• 2002 not listed as a choice for "Fit Check" for car cd player?

I want to buy a cd player for my 2002, 2DR Coupe Mustang and when I went to see which cd players would fit in my car with the "Fit Check", there was no option for 2002. It goes right from 2001 to 2003. I called the customer service and was on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up. I also sent an email to customer service which sent me an automatic response directing me to the "Help Topics" section of the website which I already checked. I am not going to buy a CD player if I don't know whether or not it fits. Has anyone else come across this problem and know how to address it? Or is there something I'm missing? Did 2002 never happen? Just kidding about that last part. But seriously, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your car will fit any single DIN radio. There are several different selections as far as radio size. Standard decks sold by Best Buy will be either a single DIN or Double DIN (DDIN) radio. You would use a dashkit to fill in for the larger opening. The sizes you have for a radio would be as follows:
Shaft style (older two knob radios)
Micro or half DIN
DIN (standard)
DIN and a half. (about 80 percent dodge, ford, and GM products from the factory)
Double DIN or DDIN (Largest opening availible. Newer Fords, Toyotas, Nissans)
Corporate (special opening might be hard to find kits for... (2000-2004ish Tarus, Hondas)
I've also seen Custom form factors which usually don't have any replacements. Like cubed shape (Caddys, etc)
You can simply call your local Best Buy installation bay and they should have a majority of them including your Mustang. What you should have ready for the installer is:
Make, model, year made. The installer might ask other questions like if it premium sound (Infinity, Bose, Clarion, Boston Acoustics, etc). We would be more than happy to assist you when that time comes.

• Best option for optical au

Hey guys,
just a query - i have an audigy 2 ZS currently, and a high end yamaha 7. amplifier.
what im wanting to do is connect this up via optical .. its currently connected via RCA and it seems to get confused as to which is the sub and which is the centre, despite me trying all combinations of cabling.
so i thought an optical wire from soundcard to amplifier would be the best way ?
i've read somewhere that if i do this, and play 2. audio (mp3s), my rear channel will be disabled ? surely thats not true ? - reason for saying this is i've seen home theatre setups where a CD player is hooked up to an amp via optical, and it still produces audio through the rear channels.
whats the best option to run this via optical ? do i need to purchase a new sound card ? if so, what is the best option for me ?
id rather quality than cheaping out on something that 'will do the job', but options are always welcome
mostly i listen to music with a bit of bass, i dont do a whole heap of gaming, so i guess music is the focus.
Thanks !

ReaperZ,
The center is on the nominally-left-channel RCA, so the likely-red-coded, nominally-right-channel RCA is your subwoofer connector.
I don't have the same soundcard model, and I can't give you blow-by-blow detail, but try looking in the Bass Management tab of the Speaker Settings control, or you may find something in the THX Setup Console, for bass redirection. You should at least find subwoofer volume and crossover-frequency sliders, and you also might find a center volume control. I'm a proponent of running all soundcard volumes at 00% and controlling listening volume and speaker balance at the amp, since this maximizes the digital SNR, but it can also be less convenient.
Run through the receiver manual's troubleshooting section for "No sound from the center speaker" and "No sound from the subwoofer" just to rule out a setting problem on the receiver side.
Then use "Manually adjusting speaker levels" on pg 45 of the receiver manual, with? MULTI CH IN selected on the remote control, to max the SWFR level (+0dB). Most receivers have separate level settings for their multi-channel input, so it is usually advantageous to provide the +0dB boost this way so it is in effect only when using the soundcard. This boost can be increased further by lowering all of the other settings the same number of dB's: if you subtract dB from all of the others, the effect is to increase the relati've subwoofer volume by dB.
Try using this information and let us know what happens.

• Is there a key on the MacBook Pro to toggle display options for a projector

I have had some difficulty getting my InFocus projector to consistently work correctly with my MacBook Pro. Is there a key on the MacBook Pro that toggles the options for projector display? There was one on my last MacBook and my previous PowerBook.
Thanks -
Dudley Warner

No, there is no longer a key to control external display modes (it's F7 on my 1st gen MBP, but the option was removed along with the embedded numeric keypad in the Early 2008 models). There's not a substitute keyboard shortcut (with the exception of installing a macro player like Keyboard Maestro). Your main option is System Preferences > Displays (as stated, ticking the box to show Displays in the menu bar provides a helpful shortcut).

Hi, you need to force the variables to be asked.
Add &variable_screen=X at the end of the URL of the report. Check if then the values are requested.
Hope this helps.

• SELECT-OPTIONS for variables that cannot have a range

Hi all,
There is an option to show only one input-field for a select-options declaration by using the 'no intervals' option. But it is still possible for the user to specify ranges when doing multiple selections (i.e. specify intervals for the variable).
However, if I have a variable that implicitly does not have ranges, (e.g. 'Arjun' TO 'Shankar' makes no sense at all), I want to let the user do multiple selections for it, without allowing him/her to enter ranges for it.
Can I do this in a selection screen in any way (even if it involves not using select-options)? And if yes, how?

Use this:
SELECT-OPTIONS xxxx FOR yyyy NO INTERVALS
                                               NO-EXTENSION.

• How to Block Account member in input reporting for some users?

Hi experts, i need to know if is possible to block input of values for some Users in the Account Dimension so that some users can input value in the report but other user cant do it.
I try to do this from "member access profile" but this option only allow you to define access right for one specifict parent o member.
I mean, is posible to asigned to Account Dimension a Propertie type "OWNER" like ENTITY?
For example: one user must to input value for the Account member "CASH", but other user dont, however i have to show the same input reporting for both users.
I hope understand the question, im sorry about my english
thank you in advance
Ignacio Vazquez

I would think you could do one of the following:
Either set account as a secured dimension.  You would then define security profiles for all account groups and assign those to your users / teams as appropriate.  Would take a while to setup initially, but if your users don't change that much it shouldn't be too difficult to manage once it's done.
Setup different input templates that only showed the accounts you wanted each group of users to see.  Put the templates in different site folders and assign access to those sites as required.  users would then only have access to open the template applicable to them.  Would require that you basically make duplicate copies or your current template, modify and save to different site folders which could become a pain if the template requires changes (since you would now have to make the same change multiple times).
Setup a macro in the current template so that you need to enter a password to unlock the send commands for the respective accounts.  I don't know if it can be setup to support multiple passwords - assuming it can, password 1 would unlock all accounts, password 2 would only unlock CASH accounts, password 3 would only unlock LIABILITY accounts, etc.  You then distribute the passwords to the users as appropriate.
Hope that helps.

• How to make the cost center or WBS field optional for Vendor/customer line?

Dear experts:
Does anyone has the experience of releasing WBS or cost center fields to be optional for the customer or vendor line item?
I've tested in system, neither the field status control in GL account master data nor the FSG in posting key worked, I can't let the WBS field to display in the screen and ready for input.
So my conclusion is that the FSG control in  not completely effective for customer/vendor line, it there any other method to let WBS to be optional in custer/vendor line items?
Our purpose for changing that is that we're using joint venture accounting, we need to let users to input a cost object for system to derive joint venture information. please do not suggest deriving JV information using other methods, because we're dealing with a special case, i.g.  in a cross-company document, only a customer/vendor line in our company, so it's impossible to split JV information from offset lines, anyway, please help me out directly with my issue.

Hi, Lu:
If I understand your question correctly, you want to modify the FSG of recociliation account of Vendor/Customer to make sure Cost Center/WBS field display in transaction F-22/F-43 for example, right?
I am not sure whether it is possible, I also tried in ECC6.0 but failed to show these two fields. And I think that doesn't make sense to assign CO object to AP/AR reconciliation account, but assign it to Revenue/Expense account in following line items.
And You can use New General Ledger functionality Document Splitting to derive corresponding CO object information to Reconciliation Account line item, but it is enabled only in General Ledger level, not in subledger level.
If you find any other meaningful solution, please also share with us.
Thanks & BR, Lawrence
